Established in 1973, the Dublin Pub has been serving up adult beverages and Irish pub cuisine in Morristown for over 50 years. The space recently underwent an extensive renovation to provide a more up-to-date aesthetic while still maintaining its welcoming, casual ambiance and Ireland-inspired decor. The menu puts an emphasis on Irish and English pub favorites -- including fish & chips, bangers & mash, shepherds' pie, chicken or sweet potato pot pie, and corned beef and cabbage -- all of which are well-executed. Our party of four started with two appetizers -- the Roasted Brussel Sprouts ($14), served with cider whiskey glaze and bits of freshly cooked fresh bacon, and the Soft Pretzels ($12). My dining companion commented that the glaze on the Roasted Brussel Sprouts was a bit too whiskey-forward for her preferences, but I thought it was pretty good. I opted for the Fish & Chips ($28), comprised of two large pieces of beer-battered deep-fried haddock served over crispy steak fries and 'Mushy Peas', tartar sauce, and curry dipping sauces. The dish was very tasty and very filling. I wound up taking home a piece of haddock and some fries for lunch the next day. My dining companion opted for the Glazed Salmon ($28), a grilled salmon filet with a grain mustard glaze and served alongside mashed sweet potatoes and sauteed spinach, which she enjoyed very much. Although our server was handling most of the tables in our section, she was attentive without being overwhelming. We will be back soon! PRO TIP #1: Dublin Pub does have a small private parking lot that fills up quickly, but there is plenty of on-street parking on South Street and Pine Street. Bring change or use the ParkMobile app for the meters ($1 per hour) Monday through Saturday from 8am til 6PM; all street meters are free Monday through Saturday after 6pm and all day on Sunday. We had the best experience today here. Street parking- on a Sunday, St. Patrick's Day weekend, we managed to get parking on the side street just a min walk. At first, the maitre d notified us it would be a 30-45mins wait for five of us-- she then caught us outside to let us know since we had kids they'd be able to fit us in a booth-- shout out to Lea for her kindness and service!! We were ready to wait until closer to 30mins but we were grateful they were able to accommodate us right away especially with the busy weekend. I must say service was great, the food was great, the vibes were great. Overall such a great experience even with a busy weekend. I started off with the Dublin Toddy- delicious. It was nice and citrusy. We also started with the deviled eggs and potato skins. The seasoned bagged wings were very good as well-- seasoned well with cumin and fried peppers. They are a must try. Very filling too. My entree was the Corned Beef Hash. It was very savory and flavorful. I recommend that also, the egg wasn't over-hard or easy it was just right. We end our meal with a Dublin Drop or the "Irish Car Bomb" -- but we couldn't drop the shot in, we had to pour it in-- which still hit the spot, was a nice "end to the meal" Cheers read more

Full disclosure: I could live in a traditional Irish Pub the rest of my remaining days. I'm thrilled to tell you that the iconic Dublin Pub Restaurant is reopened after an incredible renovation in 2024. Last night was my first experience and wow! They nailed it. I felt like I walked into a legacy pub Dublin, Ireland. Beautifully decorated in rich Irish colors and relics. Everything from the Shillelaghs on the overhead passes to the tweed textured wallpaper. Rich dark mahogany woods, Kelly green deep paint, it is perfect in every way. Next time I go, I'll try & eat at the bar because I'm a traditionalist. My friend got the Burger. It was excellent. I didn't get a picture but trust me. I went off tradition, I think, with the Mushroom Pot Pie. Excellent. Wonderfully rich smokey gravy, mushrooms were meaty and satisfying. And, I must say, they served us the Best Guinness in all of America. I've loved the Dublin Pub for years. They upped their game. Love the traditional Irish pub ambiance that the Dublin Pub Restaurant gives off but the food left a little to be desired which leaves the review sitting at a 3 out of 5. The staff was lovely and attentive and we sat on the bar side which had a chill, relaxed ambiance complete with some comfy seating options. We don't drink so ordered a mocktail and a non-alcoholic Guinness which both suited the pub feel nicely. I ordered the pub salad and added steak to the salad but the $14 upcharge for the steak was highway robbery as the amount of steak could be best described as a speck. For the steak that was present, it was seasoned well but it was pretty grizzly which was a shame because a $28 salad should be much, much better. The Dublin Burger ordered at the table was good but wouldn't have you rushing back to get it again. The real winner at the table were the French fries served with the burger and the chicken tenders and fries also ordered at the table. Perhaps some of the more traditional Irish fare would have been better but this restaurant has a whole lot of potential if they can up the food game a notch. read more

What a refreshing surprise! The atmosphere is vibrant, the music is fantastic, and the energy of the place is absolutely inviting. Newly renovated and feeling fresh! We wandered in during a walk and were treated to true 5-star service at the bar--Suzie at the bar welcomed us with the perfect smile and friendly service. "Semipro" the bartender poured us a cold Guinness on tap, and crafted one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had! The food exceeded expectations for pub fare. The Dublin Burger and Irish Wedge were both top-notch--highly recommended! We truly hope to return here on our travels again someday. The food tasted alright. However we ordered two medium rare burgers, one was marked "medium rare" and the other was marked "medium well". The staff claimed that they are both medium rare, but the kitchen "accidentally" put the wrong label on one of them. We found that the one that's marked medium well was actually medium well! What's more disturbing was to find a tiny fine hair on one of our dishes. They did nothing to correct it. They didn't even apologize to us! Congratulations! You lost customers! I felt like I stepped into a pub in Ireland. Food is professional Irish fair. Everything I tried was delicious down to the perfectly poured Pint of Guinness. I had a couple appetizers. Soft baked pretzels that were served with a warm Irish cheddar beer cheese dip. I could have ate a dozen of them. The Irish potato skins were big pieces of baked potato topped with tender corned beef and melted cheddar cheese with sour cream. The Irish spice bag chicken sandwich had crazy good flavor with crispy juicy chicken tenders , hot peppers , fried onion, "chip shop curry sauce", on a big brioche bun and the Shepards pie was the best I've ever had. Juicy seasoned ground beef , carrots, onions, and peas topped with creamy Mashed potatoes. Great friendly service. Lots of room to sit for dinner or lunch and a big bar. In the newly renovated Dublin Pub the Guinness is still excellent ($8.50 per pint), the bar has been hugely expanded and now has windows, there are many televisions, the fish and chips is still delicious, and there are many new prices to grapple with when you study the menu. The draft beer menu has been cut back despite the new taps, only a modest selection. The patio is still arguably the best in town, but we visited on a cool October night when it was closed. In my opinion the best room is to the left when you walk in, a bit away from the bar and has no televisions, like a classic pub. We tried the Dublin burger ($18), fish and chips ($26), chicken pot pie and shepherd's pie. All took quite a while to come out but were worth the wait, delicious. I'm a big fan of the chip sauce, kind of a brown curry for your french fries. Unfortunately the newly added mushy peas are actually just blended pea purée, like baby food. In short the food is a little better than in recent times, but the prices have gone up so much that you'll really notice. Now charges 3% to use a credit card. read more

Tonight we ordered take out- 2 orders of the fish and chips. They were delicious and I'm still thinking about that curry sauce! So good. I love to dip the fries In the curry. Who would think curry and fries could be so addictive. The only negative- This place charged 3% to use credit card. Ok so I'm not crazy about it being added to my bill when we dine in but my take out order, really? Saturday, February 22, 2025: I ordered the Corned Beef Reuben sandwich for lunch, and it was positively the worst Reuben I have ever experienced. The Corned Beef was quite fatty, and even the meat that appeared to be lean was tough and VERY chewy. It was inedible! The food, service, and overall atmosphere of this place are all 5 stars. It's actually an injustice that the rating is so low due to previous ownership. I accidentally happened upon this place when a taco joint around the corner was closed. I've now been back to this pub multiple times and still haven't gone to the original place I meant to, it's that good. I lived in London for about 5 years and have developed a distinct fish and chips snobbery. I can without a doubt say this is the best fish and chips I've had outside of the UK. The fish is so fresh that it's obvious to anyone who cuts in to it to see firm flaky chunks. It's not watery or mushy like other places that keep their fish frozen for a long time before serving it. The batter is perfect, the tartar sauce which is homemade is incredible, the mushy peas (which I am also a snob about) is second to none. Other places overload the peas with mint which makes it into a sweet puree...this one is savory and holds up to the fish. Chips are good and the addition of a curry sauce is a nice extra touch. I've also had the shepherd's pie to round out the two minimum dishes that every decent Irish pub should be judged by and was met with the same exceptional quality. The mash on top is nice and buttery, the gravy inside is well seasoned and not greasy, and the diced veggies still have a slight bite rather than turning to mush, and it's served in cast iron to ensure even the last bite is as piping hot as the first. I'd stack this place up against any gastropub in the UK and it would hold its own. Truely an honest recreation of the best of British/Irish pub food and worth the visit. read more

Noise is level is high on a Saturday. We went to the bar for a drink first. Service was good. The seating area for dining is very tight. The dinner menu is not vast by any means. Went here for Thursday lunch. The atmosphere is awesome. The bar staff is very friendly and attentive! I ordered a French onion soup which was delicious and savory. I also ordered a shephards pie, which was almost perfect. The only down side to it was that the peas and carrots were super crunchy seemed not to be cooked all the way. I mean it depends on what you are going for. This place has a classic array of Irish beer and whiskey. While the bar is classic the food is pretty average or even below average. The food is honestly just kind of oily and very heavy. My steak was cheap but it tasted that way too. It was super greasy and tough. I probably won't be going back anytime soon. read more

My Corned Beef Reuben barely had corned beef, I had trouble even finding corned beef mixed in with Cole slaw. My husband had the fish and chips. The fish was so heavily battered, it was inedible. First glass of wine had dirt and food in it and they replaced it. Fine. Second glass ordered had even more dirt and food in it. At that point we just asked for the check, never drank the second dirty glass of wine and they still billed us for it. We paid. This was the worst dining experience in my life! I understand that it was busy before a show at Mayo arts, however, they were very understaffed for a busy time. The waitress was doing her best, but could not handle the volume of tables that she was given, by herself. My friends ordered burgers medium and medium rare, and they both came well-done and overcooked. my boyfriend had a black bean burger and he said it was dry and probably some frozen premade thing and was not good. Welp- this place was a miss. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip to start- it came with store bought pita chips and was not the best dip we've ever had. Not terrible just not great either. I ordered the spinach salad with grilled chicken- it said it came with a warm bacon dressing which sounded delicious. Instead it was served with a cup of cold Mayo based dressing that was so thick that I turned the cup upside down and nothing came out of it. It tasted just like Mayo - disappointing. My fiancé got a cheeseburger with fries and it was just ok with a stale bun. Our waters were DISGUSTING- not drinkable- I've never tasted tap water this bad- it tasted like cleaning fluid.
