Such a nice welcoming lunch we had. For starters, they allowed dogs outside so we were able to give them a try. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. Vito received a bowl of ice water as well! My wife had a good salad with chicken and I have the chicken cheese steak a try. The bin was super soft and fresh that definitely made the sandwich. Was basically chopped up grilled chicken in the cheese steak and it was yummy. Well be back again thanks to their dog friendly policy. read more

I don't understand how people can possibly charge money for food that is completely bland and full of oil. Enjoy a gigantic batter soaked oil bath covered small fish that had absolutely no seasoning other than the taste of other items from the fryer. (Try to clean that once in a while.) Side of soft fries with no seasoning as well? You got it. Enjoy that with the smallest portion of Cole slaw you'll ever see. That will be 20 dollars please! I wish that price at least included the TUMS we needed to take after trying the triple oil coated five inch batter layer to get the fish. You're better off jumping into the lake next for anything remotely edible. Actually better take a boat since apparently this place is popular enough to constantly have no parking, no idea why. Patrick's does have very good food for the price especially being lakefront. The atmosphere is always great, and they have wonderful live music almost daily. Adrian is always very pleasant and caters to every request. The service staff could be better, I have gone here dozens of times and I'd say 9/10 times have had horrible service. Either the food comes out wrong, or the server just doesn't seem to care / listen to what you want. Zero attention to detail! (Pre-Covid) We decided to sit at the bar so that we'd get our service from Adrian, but since Covid has happened we haven't gone back unless ordering takeout. All in all, the food is good and the prices are definitely fair, when you go just be prepared for sub par service and make sure if you are making any changes to your order you specify them at least 2-3 times! read more

We have gone here many times but the last three times we returned away. You waited the door and no one acknowledges your existence then after 10 minutes tells us there's no cook for the day. Went the other night and I know the new servers are trying their best but our dinner took two hours to come out, mine never came out it was just a hamburger and the table next to us also had several people and one gentleman did not get his hamburger either. I really like this place to be honest. We sat outside and had the gorgeous view of the lake and it was great to enjoy my glass off water and appreciate the view. Our food was good, my cousin had a burger which he crushed in no time and I had a salmon over spinach and crips apples with almonds since I'm a pescatarian. The staff were really friendly, the lady who served our table was a sweetheart and made me feel great about the way I ordered my food. I went there with my family last night looking forward to the good vibes & views. I am 8 months pregnant & my mother in law is handicapped, we were willing to wait obviously it is a Saturday night with live entertainment. When I got there I was told the wait was 45 minutes. We (one 8 month pregnant person, one handicapped woman) in addition to others in my party who stood outside the pub for 45 minutes, I went in to see when we would be seated and the young girl who could barely form a sentence (I believe her to be drunk) said an hour and a half. I politely asked her how thw wait went from 45 minutes to 1 hour and a half, she stated I don't know. I stated "okay we already waited 45 minutes what's another 15/30 minutes. She said I will call you, she was disheveled, slurring her speech and barely able to maintain eye contact at this time I told my family "children are running the front let's go to the Jefferson house (who sat us immediately!!)". Upon leaving the Jefferson house at 10pm, I still had no call from the children running the door and restaurant at patricks pub. I will not be returning EVER again. Not to mention the barn like atmosphere of the front door opening and closing 1000x with grown women throwing up beside the dumpster in which we had to sit and wait by for the little girl at the front to "call" us. Disgusting behavior, everyone was wasted leaving and entering the bar clearly an adult needs to be at the door to tell people they've consumed enough alcohol and to go home. read more

Would not recommend going here, my only negative experience since moving to Hopatcong early this summer. Usually the managers make your experience better after something goes wrong or tries to at least. At Patrick's pub, the bar manager Adrian was beyond rude, from the very beginning, and only made things worse by walking away from a lady while speaking with him. We came in on kayaks and only had payment by phone or manually, which we called ahead and a waitress told us would be alright. They take orders over the phone all the time with manual payment. If he didn't want to take manual payment, no problem, be nice about it don't be rude and walk away when being spoken to. Terrible management. In my opinion, the bar manager Adrian, simply did not want to serve us, maybe because we were two people of color. Very disappointing read more

First time here and pleasantly surprised! It had the feel of a true Irish pub overlooking the lake. The bartender, Adrien, is so pleasant and a pleasure to chat with. We had the corned beef egg rolls and the garlic bread steak with mozzarella and balsamic glaze (on special). Both were delicious! The music was a mix of traditional and modern Irish rock. I think my visit to Patrick's today is going to be my last for a very long time. The location is great and sitting outside by the water is really nice but the food and service are a real letdown. Today my party of three came for lunch around 1:30pm. We were seated right away outside which was somewhat busy but there were still plenty of open tables and inside was nearly empty. Our server was very nice and got our drink orders right away. The first not so great thing was the glasses of water tasted and smelled really bad. It reminded me of unfiltered well water. None of us were able to drink it. The mixed drink I ordered was good but really weak. One of the people at our table had a glass of pinot Grigio and the wine glass had a large black smear on the inside. We sent it back and it took ten minutes for another to come out. We then placed our lunch order, one chicken sandwich, one steak sandwich and a cob salad. Our food took over an hour to come out and when it arrived the steak sandwich was so over cooked it was hard and crumbly. The cob salad had cucumbers that were over ripe and mushy. The spicy chicken sandwich was very good but the onion rings were over fried and rock hard. We decided against sending our meals back because we were concerned the wait time would be very long again. I wish this was the only bad experience I've had here but unfortunately it's very similar to my previous visits. The servers are great which leads me to think it's problems with the kitchen and bar. read more

Stopped in for lunch and it was excellent. Nice views of the water from outside, and a very nice indoor atmosphere as well. I got the crab cake sandwich, which was tasty. The star was the "Irish BBQ sauce," which had a lot of flavor and was very unique. The star of the day, though, was the fish and chips platter. The menu calls it the "best on the lake" and I can see why. It's huge, with a crispy and flavorful crust, and soft flaky fish. Highly recommended! Good prices too -- especially for the beer. Let's start with the r Decor...ehhhh...old and worn. Regular jeans and T-shirt crowd. Prices were ok, music too loud and had profanities in it. Food...don't get the seafood fries, 13 dollars and I saw fries but I don't see any seafood...just some clam soup poured on top. The burger was ok as well as my gf steak salad but that's about it. I love how upbeat and fun this place is especially during COVID. I do have a suggestion though. If you could have two dock spots open for take out- I've tried to order a couple times for take out but the docks are completely full and nobody leaves the spots- so I am unable to get my food from the boat. So I live in Hopatcong and always like to support local businesses. My partner and I placed a Grub Hub order with Patricks Pub before noon for 2 salads and an appetizer for delivery at 3 pm. At 3:30 it comes thru that our order was cancelled . We call and were told that they had no time, were short staffed and were not going to do GrubHub orders!!!! This is appalling!!! It is only 2 salads for God's sake...how long does it take to make a salad?! And why wait until after our order was to be delivered to tell us?! You are in the hospitality industry.......you obviously don't understand what that means. This is a disgrace of a business and I will no longer support you. read more

My husband and I met friends for a drink and some lunch yesterday. First time for us, and we were pleasantly surprised. This is a great location on Lake Hopatcong with very scenic views, especially from the outside decks. The owner was gracious and had the Irish charm. Loved the background Irish tunes coming over the sound system. We had delicious burgers cooked to perfection. There was a big sign outside saying "help wanted." We met two new friendly wait staff who had just arrived from Ireland! Very cool. Hope to return and check out the evening vibe, especially when there's live music, being musicians ourselves, lol! First time at the place and I could say I loved it. The location right on the lake and being able to sit outside on the deck to enjoy the nice weather. My table had the fried pickles, which were great! Then clam strip basket and the riverystyx burger with sweet potato tots. Both were awesome. My favorite thing of the meal was by far the sweet potato tarter tots ! I never had them before and couldn't stop eating them. Our server Shannon's was very nice and would ask for her next time. My wife and I enjoyed a late lunch here during a day trip to the area. We were greeted by Nicole (genuinely beautiful, welcoming, and friendly) who seated us at a PERFECT spot on the deck. We were waited on by Taylor (also genuinely beautiful, attentive, and friendly). We enjoyed a couple of well-poured Guinesses, then some hot, crispy onion rings. We ordered Reuben sandwiches and fries, which were hot, tasty, and well prepared. The food delivered to other tables looked great - especially the Reuben egg rolls and potato skins. Maybe next time! My husband and I ate dinner inside at Patrick's pub tonight and I have to say we felt safe. They took all the directives from the governor to heart. The tables are spaced very well. They installed plexiglass partitions all over the restaurant. There were arrows on the floor keeping everyone walking in the same direction. Our service was excellent. Thank you Brian. Terrible experience!!! My wife and I came here last night. When we arrived, one waitress said, hold on the hostess will seat you. So we waited by the podium. Hostess never returned and at least 4 servers looked at us and just kept walking by like we were just standing there for our health. We looked around and it was a classless joint anyway.
