Pretty basic chain restaurant similar to Applebees or Chili's but one step above in my opinion. The blackened shrimp and chicken Cobb salad I got was huge and had so much flavor. You could split it between a few people. There were so many good flavors in it, it was a traditional Cobb salad plus a bunch of other great stuff. Service was good and the waitress constantly came back to check on us and get more drinks. Everyone who works there was very welcoming and the whole place is reminiscent of your typical American bar/pub chain scene, lots of TVs and memorabilia everywhere. Honestly everything is amazing, the only only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because of the crazy drafts in the winter. The food -- not sure if it's frozen but it's honestly great from the motz sticks, pretzel to the zingers (boneless wings) they are flavorful, delicious & everything tastes crazy fresh. They have what I think is a garage converted into more seating space which, dont get me wrong is really cool & extra space for larger parties + a whole bar area but we just went & it was 2 degrees outside & the area never warmed up -- I left my jacket on most of the dinner to be honest. Anyway, in the summer I bet this is really cool & they can probably open the garage door unless it's sealed closed for some cool indoor/outdoor fresh air. That one minor thing aside, miller's is amazing had the zingers and the 5 pepper sauce (spicy) and they were so good, we ordered another set highly recommend. Solid place. I come here when traveling to the area for work A couple times a year. I usually spend 2 of my evenings here hanging with some drinks and watching a game. Tons of TVs and they've always been accommodating to put on my favorite teams game on (Detroit Lions and the Tigers). Lots of good beers to choose from. Foods good. Good pub food. I really like this place and when I checked their website I didn't realize this is actually some kind of franchise but I don't know of these being in NYS. Sadly they only have these franchise locations in Long Island in NY. I had my typical burger and omg it was so good! I loved how the chef seared my burger so that it was juicy inside and toasty outside which just made it taste like an amazingly grilled burger. Other places might claim to flame broil, cough Burger King, but this place actually flame broils the burgers and they taste fantastic! I even had the large pretzel they sell and omg that thing is so freaking yummy paired with a beer. Haven't had one of those large style pretzels since visiting a pub near my home years ago. First time here, I actually enjoyed myself, and I will be going again to try other dishes since I have one closer to where I live. I ordered the zingers mac and cheese but replaced the zingers for blackened shrimp... unfortunately, the shrimp was not blackened, but the dish was still very good, and they gave a good amount of shrimp. Staff was pretty friendly. Food was decent. Atmosphere is fun and chill. It's a cool place to hang with friends or perhaps watch sports. The location is close to many stores and other pubs. The reason for docking a star is because I had to often wait or flag someone down to get attention, and because my burger came plain? I expected ketchup or some type of sauce! I hadn't requested any modifications so I was surprised by there not being any ketchup on the burger. I also found it weird that I couldn't order a baked potato even though it's on their menu. Went yesterday afternoon for lunch with my 2 small kids and my wife. Hostess at the front sat us down in the bar room area. The table was sticky and overall dirty. Nobody came to wipe it down or clean it, so we moved to another table. Waited 1/2 hour for service and nobody came. We left. Never going back. read more

This Miller's location has been open for at least 2 years now. We'd tried to stop in previously but the wait was always too long. This past weekend, my wife and I stopped in for the first time to meet a friend for drinks. My first impression is that I really like this place! On a Fall Sunday it was perfect with large screen TVs all over to watch NFL games. Service was friendly and there was plenty of seating. While we only had drinks this time, the food menu looks good and a friend of ours recommends the Nashville Hot Chicken. We'll be back to try that soon. I've occasionally enjoyed the osso buco at various Miller's Ale House locations, quite good. Decided to spring for the prime rib this time. Service was a 5, bartender was working the bar and tables near the bar like an absolute pro. So far as the meal, I just found what was supposed to be an indulged treat a bit underwhelming. If you come here, try the osso buco, but if you're in the mood for a steak, this might not be the spot. Long story short, we ended up in Rockaway tonight around 6:30 and we were starving. There was a 20-25 minute wait for a table, so we grabbed seats at the bar. The entire restaurant was packed. This is the place to go for football Sunday. Lots of TVs showing all the games. The bar area was incredibly busy and they had only one bartender to take care of everyone. Justine was extremely friendly, but beyond overwhelmed. We waited about 10 minutes before she took our drink order. Then it was another 15-20 minutes before we could order food. The food took a while to come out. It tasted okay - typical chain restaurant food. The beers are cold and they have a decent selection on tap. We ordered two entrees and it took over 30 minutes to be served (after we asked what was going on). Do not order the house sirloin and shrimp (inedible) and definitely do not order the house margaritas! Awful. Husband said he would rather go to Burger King!! We've tried two times - both extremely dissatisfying. Do not recommend. Manager did comp our meals - but they overcharged us for the awful margaritas- sent first one back as there was something floating in the glass. I am a regular at Miller's and always enjoy the food and the service. Food is always prepared to our liking (except one time, but I won't go into that now), staff is personable, never a wait for food and beverages. But I do have one complaint, otherwise I would give 5 stars. The beer menu never changes. I only drink Craft Beer on draft. The Manager told me to request a separate Beer List from the Server as it has more than the Menu lists, but I have had each Craft Beer and they NEVER change. Maybe Miller's caters to the Miller, Bud, Coors crowd, but that's not me. There are maybe a dozen Craft Beers on the list, but they should be rotated and replaced periodically. Even an Uno's does that. Anyway, that's my complaint, and it makes me think twice as to whether I want to travel 30 minutes to Rockaway or not. read more

Not very good. Ordered a hamburger, plain with ketchup. When I was driving back home I was eating my fries when I noticed the burger, it had cheese on it. I didn't exactly wanna go back but I went back to the restaurant and I called them up. I also made it clear I wanted a plain hamburger. I called them up and they said they would make it when we got there, I was confused why they didn't start making it right away. I bought a gift card online this morning. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift. I never got the 50$ card or the 2 bonus 10 dollar cards I was supposed to get. I called the gift card number 5 times throughout the day. I left messages for callbacks, I was on hold for 15 minutes then disconnected, I sent an email got a response that it was being looked into but no gift card. I called the restaurant twice and spoke to the manager who tried to get in touch with someone and was unable to. He offered to give me the cards if i could come to the restaurant, unfortunately that wasn't possible. I have bought gift cards before for the ale house, but never again. Updating my May Review: We stopped in for Dinner last night (Saturday) after having a couple of conversations with the Manager. Simon asked that we give it another chance, so we did. He did not know we were coming in, but to begin with, we were seated promptly. Once seated, I specifically asked for the Craft Beer List rather than rely on the selections on the Menu. I made my selection from the 30+ choices which were wide ranging. We ordered Wings as an Appetizer, Steak Fajitas and Lobster Ravioli as Entrees, a 2nd selection from the Beer List, and finished by splitting a Dessert. The soup tasted old, the salad is wilted and not fresh, the fried shrimp are over cooked and the drinks are watered down ( I could almost accuse them of putting water in their vodka, I had a Cosmo, absolutely no vodka). I went for a quick bite after work and sat at the secondary bar not the main bar. It took a while for the bartender to acknowledge that I was sitting there I had asked for some water and a menu. He took forever to give me my water and take my order. My food was delivered and the bartender never asked if I wanted something to drink, if my food was ok, or if I needed anything. The sad part was that the bar wasn't even crowded. His attention was on chatting with his co-workers as opposed to his customers. Once I asked for the check, then all of a sudden, he bacame very chatty. Too late bud, your last minute chitchat does not make for a large tip. Then to top things off, he never gave me the actual change/coins from my bill. Maybe his tips are always low due to his poor service that he takes everyone's change to make up for his tips! Probably won't return for this is the second time I've had very poor service at that bar. read more
