We Definitely ordered the wings and tried the KKP (which is regular buffalo) and Motor oil The motor oil wings ended up being very good lol We then shared Ribeye cheese sandwich ;Onions & peppers come w/ the ribeye sandwich but I wanted Onions & he wanted peppers, we asked for it on the side & we put what we wanted on our halves Marriage is all about compromising We were so full. Wasn't a planned stop. Needed some food while traveling and this place was close and had a strong yelp rating. Arrived and ordered 12 wings since they stayed in the menu they were voted best in New Jersey, onion rings, and a couple pints. Went with 1/2 salt and vinegar and 1/2 motor oil which was a seeet Asian chili sauce. Holy wow these wings were the best I've ever had! The onion rings also may have been some of the best I've ever had. Yeah it's bar food but it's bar food on another level! Intrigued by the clever name and the "Best Food on This Block" sign, we stopped into this cozy bar and found it to be one of the friendliest spots around. Our server, Rebecca, literally gave us the shirt off her back! After we asked if the Knotty Pine shirt she was wearing was for sale, she told us it unfortunately wasn't available anymore, so she gave us the one she was wearing. Now that's amazing service! Great little local bar! Tried the famous wings. We split some wings and tried the motor oil and house buffalo sauce. Both were amazing. Wings were fresh, crispy, and not dry at all. The Knotty Pine is one of those places where everybody knows your name. Unless it is your first time as it was for me. So, nobody knew my name. A plaque on the wall reads... "The jolliest bunch of a**holes this side of the nuthouse". So, I felt right at home. It seems to attract a local blue collar crowd. However, the guy who sat next to me at the bar was a surgeon. So, you never know. I think the Knotty Pine would qualify as a dive bar. Which is a compliment coming from me. I LOVE dive bars. They have a solid beer list which includes my all time fave, Fiddle Head. I had a few of those as well as a cheese burger which was truly excellent. The staff were attentive and friendly. Wings! Wings! Wings!! I've seen Pete Genovese from NJ.com name Knotty Pine Pub one of the best places in the state for Buffalo wings, and today my wife and I had a chance to see for ourselves. Pete was right...the wings are fantastic! We ordered the KPP and Motor Oil wings. The KPP packed some heat, but the Motor Oil were my favorite. Great taste with a real crispness. We also ordered cheeseburgers which were huge and delicious as well! The Knotty Pine has a comfortable feel to it. Lots of customers who know each other and are regulars. This place is the reason I love yelp. Was coming back from PA and searched for a place on the way home for some good eats... found it! And I never would have if I didnt rely on comments from previous customers... BEST WINGS is an understatement. We had the KPP and the Honey garlic which are really more like bbq. This place is a goody old-time bar and grill serving really good food. The long-time owner is there often. He and the bartenders and kitchen staff are beyond courteous. They always ask to ensure you are satisfied with your food and experience. Fun, low-key pub. I can't say enough about their wings. I wanted to watch a football game, and my friend said this was his local pub years ago, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I was encouraged by reading that WDHA crowned them wing champions, so I came hungry and ready to down some wings. Turns out, that was a mistake. The wings were deep fried and deep breaded. If I want my wings that breaded, I am getting fried chicken. That really threw me off. The sauce was okay, but nothing special compared to the couple dozen I can walk down the street and get at Sharky's (though I don't really plan on going there again... see that other review). Really did not like the wings and would not recommend. The mozz sticks were right up my alley though - full of cheese, nice and bready, choice of dipping sauce - I went with honey garlic wing sauce. That was a great choice, making them taste like garlic sticks. I've decided that I am reviewing this as a dive bar, not a wing spot. Mandatory 1.5 star deduction for those wings, though. Man. Otherwise, if you get any of the other pub foods and order from their decent-sized taps, you'll have a good time watching the game and maybe shooting some pool. Maybe watching the game. They need a couple more TVs in there. So I'm right on the fence between 3 and 4 stars. I keep wanting to make this a 3 star review because of the wings, but I have a weakness for dive bars. Ultimately, I think it comes down to this: They say "every hour is a happy hour", but then that means there are never any price specials, so you pay full price for every app and drink. That adds up. I would have given 3 stars BUT your wings are amazing and I think I may come back. Standard pub, pool table and darts. Music playing and tv on. All good... my only problem was I ordered a rum chata with jack honey and it was put in more like a double shot glass which is fine but when my friend ordered it you gave her a bigger glass. And her glass had pink lipstick prints on it... that really was my only criticism. Sorry! I can always update my review but that was disappointing to see. But decent pub to chill and chat. It can get loud depending on the group of people in there. I enjoyed it there overall. The wings I got were the bloody mary and salt and vinegar. Sooo crunchy and delicious. Overall a truly great place. You have to know where your going. For example, don't go in there looking for a Gastro pub or some type of fusion food. The food is good and the service is even better. We were lucky to meet Jennifer last night. She is the normal weekend bartender but filling in for a colleague on a Tuesday night. Lucky us. The food won't disappoint you. I do need to challenge the best wings in New Jersey claim. Not sure if it was a vote or self appointed but in a state of nearly 9 million people, I have to believe somebody could dethrone them. I know I have had better. We've been meaning to try their wings for awhile now and tonight seemed like it wouldn't be too crowded to get a table. The Stella on draught was cold and starting things off right. The Knotty Pine Pub wings were good. I'd say they resemble your typical hot wings but the Motor Oil Wings were fantastic. They're not spicy but they have a crunchy texture to them and they were delicious. Our burgers were cooked perfectly and they were amazingly juicy. The server was very friendly and efficient.
