Went for late lunch. Greeted warmly by bartender/waiter. Interesting, different menu choices. Ordered calamari/scallop/zucchini appetizer; delicious (a quibble: too small serving of dip). talk about a wharton hidden gem. right off the main road you'll find an aesthetically pleasing dining experience. the decor is very chic yet rustic and charming. great date night vibes or solo lunch potential with a menu that's not what you would normally find in the neighborhood. the service was excellent. i ordered the great owl mocktail which was really sweet but tasty as well as the drunken noodles with short rib, a thai italian fusion dish which was packed full of flavor! a hint of sweet, heat, and tons of umami make this a delicious choice! my mom had the birria tacos which she enjoyed and the brownimisu for dessert (she cleaned the glass it was so good ). all and all i'll definitely return to explore their extensive & creative menu again soon! if you're thinking of stopping by, be like nike & just do it! read more

Went back somewhat recently and ordered the noodles special this time around. It was, like almost everything I have had at White Owl across multiple visits - brilliant. It is on the spicier side, so this is something to consider if you do not like spice. That said, the noodles were terrific, and you are served a large portion of it. I got it with chicken and was thoroughly pleased from top to bottom. The presentation is also smart, being served in an oversized Chinese takeout rice container. We went here for a date night during the middle of the week. The side parking that was available was convenient but I can see parking perhaps being difficult during a busy weekend/holiday since it's located on a residential street. Either way it worked out for us! I don't think you can go wrong with any of their cocktails. Amy the co-owner with her husband mentioned they will be having seasonal menus which is nice for someone like me who likes to be a frequent eater at fave places and can have options the next time I return. White Owl Tavern is a restaurant that recently opened in Wharton. I believe this was an older bar and it's been remodeled into a nice, little restaurant. On a Saturday night, the place was crowded, but there were open tables. We sat in a booth, but the bar looks very good also. As with most places, there seems to be a few kinks to iron out, but we had a fun time here. They have an interesting drink menu and next time will go for one of those. Since we were ordering Italian entrees, my wife and I went with Pinot Noir. The one negative I have here is that I wasn't crazy about my order, Fusilli alla Vodka. My wife had the chicken parm and thought it was very good, although she wasn't crazy about the pasta. Next time we go back, I think we'll try items off the sandwich menu. We split a dessert called "Warm & Fuzzy" which was amazing! Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, all heated in a skillet with a crumb topping and ice cream from Denville Dairy on top. This was the star of the meal! Our server, Julianna, was fantastic! Great personality and took care of everything we needed. Parking is mostly on the street and was a little tight. Decide to stop by the new place that opened in town, and I will definitely be coming here often! Food: starting off with very light, delectable misto fritto which had an amazing mix of shrimp and calamari with a delicious sauce they referred to as the WOT sauce. I had the pusilli alla vodka as per the recommendation of the waitress which was out of this world. The vodka sauce, complimented by the whipped ricotta, and spiced up with some cherry peppers, was a perfect blend that I truly enjoyed with every bite. My wife has birria tacos which were the first that I have never seen soaked in grease with a supposedly excellent consommé dip Aesthetic: from the beautiful wood/laminate flooring, to the pretty neon signs, and the nice coordination of powdered coated metal and wood makes us very aesthetically pleasing and Instagram worthy place. Service: our waitress, Allie/Ally, was amazing. She gave us great recommendations, helped us frequently, and was super kind to us the entire time. This place was incredible. From the outside, it didn't offer much to the imagination (or expectation) but once you enter, the what seems to be newly renovated establishment was really well done! The ambience is decent. I went on the recommendation of a neighbor. We went was seated immediately. We ordered our drinks and Asian Zing ribs as an appetizer. I ordered a cosmo and it was tolerable. I've had better at other establishments. The ribs looked great but tasted okay. I expected it to be a little sweeter. However, I ate some because I was quite hungry. Our waitress came back to our table and we ordered our dinner entrees. We ordered Fusilli alla Vodka and Tavern Parm. The Fusilli was dry and hardly and was prepared with hardly any pasta sauce. It was not flavorful. Pretty much bland. The Tavern Parm was not all that good. The chicken was bland and the noodles were okay. We were both disappointed. Our waitress did ask if we liked our entrees. We were honest about it and she asked if there was anything she can do for us. We declined and paid our bill. The best food I've ever eaten. Started off with a special appreciation which was a mozzarella stick with fresh mozzarella, honey and ricotta. Oh my God, it was absolutely fantastic. The best I've ever had. I've been to White Owl twice already the first time was during their opening week and the food was delicious and fresh! We got the Tavern Hummus, Jersey Boy, Feta Salad with Salmon and the broken cannoli for dessert. Although their service was kind of slow (expected as it was their opening week) they gave us free dessert to make up for it! Highly recommend this awesome new spot in the area! The two drinks I got the Wise One and their Night Owl were absolutely PERFECT! The pictures speak for themselves! The second time I went for pasta and espresso martinis and everything was 10/10!! First time here. New addition to Wharton. We sat at the bar. Ordered the WOT Lager. Very crisp and smooth. We shared a great romaine salad with sun dried tomatoes, croutons and a spicy dressing. We had the worst experience at this place! We were pleasantly surprised at how cool this place was when we walked in. The decor and vibe is so cool. We sat at the bar because we like to and we ordered some apps and dinner. Our app came and the food never came after an hour. We asked the bartender which was very knowledgeable and did seem very stressed out about our food. He admitted he forgot to put the order in for it. He promised they would prioritize our food. We decided to relax about it since it was date night and we Weren't in a rush. 30 minutes later food is coming out all around us but not ours. We ask the bartender again and he tells us that they are so busy and we still have a long wait. It was 1.5 hours since we originally ordered. We explained that we had to go pick up our daughter soon and he just kept saying I'm sorry it's going to be a while. It was just bizzare that he didn't tell kitchen to prioritize his mess up. Needless to say, we left at 9'pm starving and super disappointed. We understand mistakes happen but he didn't try to fix it and just kept saying sorry. Pretty pricey for the neighborhood it is in, its high end Morristown tavern prices but the location is on a side street in Wharton across the street from ran down multi-family houses. After tip for a party of 6 the total was $540. For a small tavern in Wharton with bar food, this is crazy. The worst part might have been the parking, absolutely nowhere to park. It took 15+ mins to find parking and pretty sure where I parked was illegal. The other part we did not like was the constant wiffs of cigarette smoke. I am not sure if someone was smoking in the kitchen or outside the kitchen, but every 5 mins you would get hit with a puff of cigarette smoke. Individual food ratings: Chicken Parm- two of us got this. Good quality chicken, however the rigatoni was cold for both of us. Birria Nachos- solid Chicken dip- better than expected Birria Grilled Cheese- wife loved it Again, the service was good, cant remember the waitresses name unfortunately, but she was awesome. we randomly came in here after atv riding in the poconos we saw good reviews on yelp and decided to stop in... super glad we did ...the owners are super awesome people genuine ,and very caring. the bar staff were also very friendly and knowledgeable started off with the apple cider mule which is ridiculously tasty. and very pretty. had the extremely delicious hummus for an app... and the jersey boy. i couldn't be happier even though i live about an hour up north the vibes and food were so good that ill definitely be back ... thank you guys for being so awesome read more

Relatively new spot in Wharton on a side street off the main drag. Once entered the room was bright and welcoming. Server greeted us quickly and was very friendly, polite and knowledgeable about the menu. A definite high point when going for our first visit. Appetizer was the mozzarella sticks with whipped ricotta. These were not your standard sticks, they were enormous and the whipped ricotta was a great addition. The fish and chips were fresh, flakey and utterly delicious. At one point the owner came over to chat and make sure everything was going well. Very nice touch as he gave some insight to his fish and chips recipe that was truly interesting. The short rib sandwich was amazingly tender and flavor full. Not dry or tough but melted like butter in your mouth. All in all an awesome experience, and since we are pretty local, will be making this wonderful restaurant a regular stop in the future. Today was my first time to dine here and wow was I impressed! The interior of the building has been completely redone and looks great, the server and his service was awesome ! The food is diverse and terrific ! I had the caprese salad with homemade mozzerella I chose to add the shrimp which added a great touch and made it a wonderful filling lunch. My husband had the fish and chips which he loved he said lite and flaky fried Hugh price of fish and the fries with super crispy... he even had dessert which was a wonder crème brûlée which is his favorite !
