    Shepherds Pie

Had diner here this evening with my wife. Inside has a very typical Irish Pub feel. It was a beautiful evening so we ate outside where they have several tables and it's perfect for people watching. We started off with a couple drinks. Beer was ice cold and refreshing. For dinner we shared a house salad and asked for balsamic vinaigrette on side. We got a side of just balsamic vinegar. Salad was just ok. For mains my wife got the salmon over a bed of spinach and loved it. I got the shepherds pie and honestly it was a major disappointment. It looked good, but really was lacking. Chopped meat filling had zero taste and was dry. Almost no sign of any vegetables except for a few very finely chopped carrots( barely perceptible) . A real fail for a dish that should be featured at an Irish pub. Service was adequate. I gave it 3 stars based on my wife enjoying her meal. If it were based on my dish it would be one star. Must be a reason they were the only place in town with empty tables. Probably won't be returning.

Great local pub for a bite and a beer. No frills. Just a cold pint, a whiskey and a solid burger. I've had a few things on the menu and everything I've tried so far has been pretty good. If you are in the area stop in and have a beer. ENJOY!!!

Great experience! Came here for brunch and we were pleasantly surprised :) Started off with pub fries and buffalo wings! Great start :) Then we ordered the brunch burger - amazingness! For drinks - mimosas were great!

What a lovely place to watch the World Cup. They were insanely busy, duh. But things were pretty held together considering. They didn't have any coffee, which kind of sucked (server said machine was broken). Mussels in cream sauce was yummy, my husband said his Reuben was forgettable. They have a lot of tvs and a nice atmosphere. All in all, a good place to watch a soccer match.

Let's start with the goods shall we? Great downtown location; nearby parking; extremely friendly staff. My boyfriend and I ordered LA's Crock of Cheese as an appetizer. Our dining mates went with chicken tenders (which I might add, looked like ready-to-eat tenders that had been microwaved). What arrived was an abomination of my tastebuds. If you had showed me a 6 year old was in the kitchen churning out orders, I wouldn't have been surprised. This excuse for a lunchable was the "crock of cheese"?! I'm not the person to send food back or cause a scene about my order, but this deserved it. Instead, I was shocked into silence. I could not, and STILL can not believe that they were willingly serving this. My entree was Shepherd's Pie. The #1 thing going for it was the tongue searing temperature. I'm known for liking my food HOT, but this was HOT until the very last bite. Perhaps, too hot then? It was edible but nothing to rave about. Overall, this entire experience was disappointing.

Dined here for lunch, one of the only places open on a Monday afternoon. The decor is dark but comfortable. We sat and were greeted quickly. I ordered a cosmo and appetizers. Everything was good, typical bar food. Our waiter was great too. Would come here again.

What the hell kind of Irish Pub runs out of fish and chips? Seriously, we were the first ones in the restaurant this evening at 5:30 pm. We waited for the last two people in our party to show up who got here by 5:45 p.m. and we were totally ignored until approximately 6:30. I did not get my replacement meal until everyone else had been able to finish theirs in our party of eight. When I got it, they had not let it rest long enough, it was too hot, and I burned my lip.

Good menu. Tasty burgers & fries. Friendly service & pleasant atmosphere. The fireplace in winter is especially welcoming.

Cute, cozy, in a picturesque downtown. That whole area is a hidden gem in central jersey.

Good food, nice pub atmosphere. Service was great for a busy Friday night. Seems like a popular local place.

Everything in my previous review still stands - it's still an interesting hybrid of family restaurant, sport bar and lounge. Since my previous review I've had some of the food and it's as expected - average to a bit below average fitting for how I viewed the place before having food. I've managed to try a burger here and was disappointed. I asked for medium-well, it was beyond well done. Dry and not very well seasoned at that. The fries were unacceptable. Plentiful but I'm almost positive these are Ore-Ida frozen fries. The bar pie was also pretty sad. It's about 4 medium slices of thin crust pizza with average sauce flavor. It seemed a bit burnt. I also got a plate of buffalo wings to share with my buddies. Again average. It wouldn't be so bad but the prices are pretty high. All of the things I've tried were $15+ and they ranged from not good to average. The bartenders do put a lot of effort in interacting with you and do well keeping drinks going but the food and the experience is a bit dicey. The locals that frequent here are friendly and have resulted in conversations which help the experience here.

Also, the Paloma's she made were wonderful. I will say we were not too fond of the gentleman that was sitting by the door with the blue shirt. I'm not sure if he's the owner or what role he plays here, but he was not friendly at all - seems he was friendly to everyone else...said hello and good night, but not to us!

Giant pretzel with cheese and sweet honey mustard is pretty tasty, too! Service was friendly and not too overbearing, they came around just enough and also gave me a water for the post-beer. Nicely done spot with a lot of TVs, too, to watch the game (Mets won that night). The downside? It can get busy, and when it is, the parking lot next door gets full fast. You'll have to use other muni parking in the area.

Our drinks took forever to arrive approximately 15-20 minutes, despite the restaurant being relatively empty. Although they were delicious, I'm not sure I would've wanted to wait that long. The food was particularly pricey and felt like Manhattan even though it did not really compare in terms of quality to several restaurants in the city. Our service was below average even though our waiter was friendly. Finally, the portions felt relatively small, and I left feeling hungry once it was all done. Overall a below-average experience but I hope to try this restaurant again since it seemed to have quite a bit of potential (and other folks absolutely love this place).
