Typical bar. The people here are very nice and it is super family friendly. They have a huge outdoor patio that is covered by tents making it very comfortable. The drinks and food were pretty good. I have no complaints and would happily go back here again when Im in the mood for a burger or other bar food.

My go-to for an easy dinner, fun place to hang out with kids, chilled girls' night or Sunday funday. It's just so versatile with tv screens showing games, a bar and a quiet back room with roomy booths. They have crayons and games to distract the kids. Most importantly, they have really good (& strong) drinks, as well as delicious food, including some really great seasonal stuff. We just went for St Patrick day and the corned beef sliders were spectacular. Service is always friendly and super prompt.

Love the thirsty turtle! It's a great spot for drinks and apps. Would definitely recommend for a happy hour as it's pretty casual and chill. The bar Usually has sports on so it's cool to chill and hang out. I would recommend getting the potstickers. Their espresso martini is great as well.

We had late lunch here today. We ordered Mushroom Fondue Burger on a brioche bun with fries on the side and Greek Salad. The burger is soft, moist and well cooked. It has a special tasty sauce that I can't figure out. It taste great. The salad taste fresh and delicious. Serving staff are kind, friendly and helpful. Very clean restaurant and well lighted place. Parking is my concern. They're sharing parking space in the back with an auto shop business, it's packed. I parked by the curbside and pay the meter. Will be back to try some of their entrees from the menu.

Truffle burger was delicious with truffle fries ( cooked in truffle oil but no truffle seasoning? ) meat good quality but bacon had a plastic taste. Still a great spot to hang with good drinks.

The wings were great. Cheesesteak egg rolls had some chewy pieces of meat in them not sure I would get them again. French onion soup was ok. I enjoyed the blackened salmon tacos they were great.

The thirsty turtle features a menu with a lot of choices and decent pricing as well. I was impressed with their short rib tacos ($15 for 3)

Good bar food. Bar tenders never left your glass empty. Great bar vibe. Made me feel like I was back in college with more money.

And I'll defer to the town elders about whether if I'm being unfair to a place that might be the heir to Maxwell's because of a "me" problem. I expected more of a "standing bar" venue. There's a main seating area that seems designated for full service food and drinks. The smaller seating area on the right felt like more of a VIP area. There were no signs, fences or bouncers stopping me from sitting in these places. The unambiguous standing area was quite small. I'm unclear on the ethics of whether it's required to buy drinks considering the delightfully low $10 cover charge. But I did enjoy a Down East cider and more shockingly, a loganberry hard cider from Canisteo, NY's own Cross Creek. Still, the DIY vibe is more refreshing than City Winery charging more than Live Nation to get through the door, tacking on $25 minimums and seating you with strangers. The men's room is currently out of service so I used the modular set-up outside (flush, not porta, but my rating on this sub-section of the trip varies depending on whether the light is working!) On the bright side, there's a great assortment of cover bands and originals on the calendar. I was here for Ashtray Floors, who had a stellar homage to The Replacements. I never thought I'd hear Left Of The Dial live again. And REM tribute band The Ones You Love also rocked the joint. Crossroads deserves credit just for hosting these shows but also for good sound quality whether it was the haunting echoes of the late Bob Stinson or the mandolin in Losin' My Religion. And if I don't see ya, in a long, long while, I'll try to find you, left of the Garwood NJ Transit stop.

I came for lunch and appreciated the fact that they had a lunch menu that includes a complimentary cup of soup. Although it was literally 100 degrees outside, the cream of crab soup was the perfect accompaniment to the entree of chicken fajitas and was quite lovely. The fajitas were sizzling hot when they came to the table, the plate was full of chicken, and the dish tasted fantastic. Also, I had a lychee mocktail which was a delight. The Cobb chicken sandwich was also a huge portion and was reminiscent of the salad but instead had a ciabatta bun. Also, our server, Sierra, was so sweet and attentive. All in all, we had an excellent experience per usual and will definitely be back.

Honestly, the design inside and its staff may be their redeeming qualities. Staff was attentive and even though we were seated in the patio they came to check on us often, clearing plates, offering to get us more food/drinks each time. As soon as you sit down, you're met with chips and salsa (pictured). Chips were ok, the salsa had very little flavor or seasoning. I can only describe it as a watered down Tostitos mild salsa (you know - the salsa in the glass jar). Food was average. Extensive menu, but quality varies across dishes. My partner got a steak and eggs, which was not too bad. They nailed the medium rare temperature. And the chimichurri had a good flavor. My quesadilla was OK, with the salsa toppings and side salad being average tasting. I gave this place two tries, I don't think they get a third one. Unsure if I'd return but if I did perhaps it'd be for happy hour drinks (Monday-Friday 4-6P).

Whether it's at the bar or a table outside try to make a reservation to secure your seat. One of the times I went was on a Wednesday and the place was packed our wait was about 20 mins and it was well worth it. The menu changes daily so don't go back expecting to get the same thing you ordered the last time. To be quite honest of all the items I ordered two did not stand out although sounding promising The lobster roll, the bread was mediocre and the filling was scarce. The pizzette was also ehhh. Nothing impressionable. However the oysters, fully dressed and ready for consumption were pops of freshness and flavorful jellies exploding in your mouth. The corn was a nice touch. The mussels were in this sauce that was to die for. Full of garlic and creaminess paired with about 3 slices of sourdough bread perfect for soaking. The crostini appetizer, drooling thinking about it. Prosciutto with honey and mozzarella is the best combination.now for the chicken Milanese. Perfectly crisp with tomatoes I'm not sure what they put in the salad but delicious! Overall it's worth a happy hour with great deals. And even the dinner entrees are worth the visit. Third time back will be soon.
