It was my first time dining at Stage House Tavern, and overall we had a great experience. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the restaurant was pleasantly quiet. The food was delicious, and we especially enjoyed sharing the meal with our granddaughter, who absolutely loved her mac and cheese. The only downside was the service. Our server, Daniella, was very lovely and friendly, but after our food was delivered, she was nowhere to be found. We wanted to order something else and later get the check, but we waited quite a while without seeing her again. Stopped here to meet up with friends, and after visiting a few times, I can honestly say the experience really depends on your server. On a previous visit, we placed our order, but our waiter disappeared after bringing drinks and food. When the food arrived, we were missing serving utensils, and it was difficult to track him down. It made the whole experience feel a bit frustrating. This time was completely different. Our server was attentive, proactive, and present. She checked in regularly, made sure we had clean plates, and refilled water without us having to ask, though most of us were busy enjoying our cocktails. That level of service made a noticeable difference. We usually come during happy hour, so it does get crowded. The space itself has a fun vibe. The trees in the center of the room are wrapped in lights, which gives the place a slightly magical feel. If you sit at the bar, you will miss that feature, but that is where the happy hour specials are. We ordered a variety of appetizers: - Brussels sprouts: very greasy and overly salted. 3/5 stars - Loaded nachos: also greasy, with heavily fried chips. 3/5 stars - Guacamole: a hit at the table. Thick, creamy, and well-balanced. 4.5/5 stars - Spinach artichoke dip: another favorite. Rich, creamy, and satisfying. 4.5/5 stars - Beet salad: red and golden beets with a port wine vinaigrette were excellent. Had a really great experience at Stage House Tavern. First the place is gigantic. It was pretty crowded due to the Knicks game being on and it still felt as if they could have fit another 60-80 people there. The decor is pretty cool. They have some nice masonry tables with a large skylight overhead. Enough of about the decor. The food and service were great. I ordered the Baha Fish tacos which were an 8.8/10 and the lychee martini was a 7/10. Stopped by Stage House for lunch while in Union for an errand. My friend lives in Union and recommended this place for lunch. We specified we wanted some place that would have a large bar area and tavern food and this place checked those boxes. I was blown away by how big this place is inside. I didn't even see how big the one side of the dining area is since we were on the opposite side where the bar is. Their bar was really big and there were plenty of high top tables too in the bar area. It was pretty busy for a nice Saturday afternoon with March Madness basketball on, yet they only had 1 one bartender. She did her best though to hustle around and was very friendly and had a positive attitude whenever we asked for things. They have plenty of big TVs. In addition to how big it was inside, I noticed they have a huge outdoor patio area as well with tables and a large bar with seating and an outdoor TV. It would be a fun place to check out in warmer weather. For food, we shared the brussels sprouts to start - I liked the chili sauce and the pickled onions. Decent portion. For food, we each got sandwiches. I had the brisket grilled cheese with fries. The sandwich was really good. My husband got the mountainside dip with onion rings. He said the sandwich was pretty good. The onion rings were not very good. There was something off with their batter - they were very thick and didn't have the right crispiness to them. He wishes he just stuck to fries instead of the $3 upcharge for the rings. All in all, we had a mostly pleasant and comfortable visit here. The one annoying thing was this large party seated not far behind us that had several school age boys - the kids were starting to get really loud and were running around at the end. I wish management would have said something to the family - the parents were oblivious to it or just didn't care. There were a few large parties at the restaurant celebrating something with children - I would recommend they sit large parties like this further away from the bar area for the enjoyment of adults just trying to enjoy themselves at the bar. Came here with a food influencer friend of mine. It was a Friday night and they were quite busy. We decided to sit indoors. The ambiance was lively and chill at the same time. Not a bad place on RT 22 I stopped in for lunch and was seated immediately the place is very big I felt like in a past life the place was either a bank or a catering hall because it just doesn't have a normal restaurant layout. Which I'm fine with that I hate restaurants that squeeze you shoulders to shoulder and that definitely isn't happening here so they get points for the location. I asked the waitress if they could clean the table because it was very dusty which she did very quickly. I started off with the woodfire meatballs which came in a soupy sauce with cold mozzarella on top which is why it was probably luke warm it wasn't too bad but I didn't like it enough to get it again. My main dish was the spicy drunken chicken Parm pizza. It definitely was spicy and the crust and sauce was very good. My only issue was they could have chopped the toppings smaller because chunks of chicken and peppers were just falling off the pizza when you picked it there was more left on the plate than on the pizza itself. Overall I know I gave this place a three but I would say it really is about a 3 and a half. The service and the building itself was the best. My friends and i were having a get together on Friday night so we checked out stage house rt.22. The place itself is very big no complaints there, but the service was horrible and the food was worse. Beers were on the warm side and you can tell the tap system wasn't right, no foam or carbonation with most brands. Got a simple hamburger and everything was putrid. Roll was hard and off meat was well done and fries were soggy and very very salty. i didnt say a word was just having a good time with friends from back in the day. Manager came by later on and asked about the food as thou he was confident about it. I again said nothing But when the waitress cleans off a table and sees a burger and fries uneaten come on man the manager knew.. again everything that came out was cheap quality food, thought they would be better that McDonalds lol. Too make things more weird we were 8 guys so naturally they put the tip on there was no gambling going on there, and we accidentally shorted the waitress like 3 bucks, she came over too get the 3 bucks on a tip they decided to put on and it was i think $350 bill.. A crowd-pleaser with divey vibes, great for groups and private events. While their menu's huge with great burgers, salads, and apps, my favorite part is the custom ravioli section that lets you choose your filling, sauce, and portion size. So far, the Chicken Saltimbocca and Luganina Sausage fillings were delicious. Brunch is also good here in a buffet style with plenty of options. Just don't get the cannolis- they're only filled on the ends. Drinks are reliable whether you want a beer, a bucket, wine, or a martini. My whole family really enjoys this spot. Came by Stage House because a buddy from home was having a surprise birthday there. While I grew up in the area, Stage House wasn't around by the time I left for undergrad, and while my folks still live nearby, I just haven't had the opportunity to go until last week - but it's a pretty sweet, massive sports bar and music event space. We came on a Friday night with a big Knicks/Pacers playoff game going on and a throwback Warped Tour cover show starting at 10pm (that part I had to miss to catch a bus back to the city, but my friends said it was great (nostalgia at its finest...Thnks fr th Mmrs). We grabbed a table towards the back of the main bar/dining area, and were promptly attended to. I started off with a Kane IPA (decent beer menu) and we ordered some appetizers, namely: Mozzarella Sticks - decently sized sticks, yummy. Loaded Nachos with chicken added - pretty solid, always wish places would kinda layer their toppings through the chip layers, but an ample amount to DIY. Buffalo Smoked Chicken Wings - saucy and scrumptious. Tuna Tartare For my main, I opted for the Lamb Burger (goat cheese, pickled onions, olive relish - but I nixed that, tzatziki on a brioche bun) with a side salad. They accidently gave me fries as my side, but then quickly offered to just bring me a new, separate side salad, and promptly did so, which was nice. Burger was also very juicy, lots of creamy, delicious goat cheese (I'm a fiend), so this was a solid choice in my book. Came here for a private party not too long ago during their Sunday brunch buffet. It's a bit loud (enthusiastic sports aficionados and live music but nice for a younger crowd. I am sincerely disappointed with the service I received during my visit to Stage House on May 22, 2025. After spending the last ten years frequenting this establishment, I had high hopes for a pleasant evening with my significant other. We thought it would be a perfect spot to enjoy together. Upon our arrival, we chose to sit at the bar, drawn in by the live music and the lively atmosphere. The bartender, Patrick, greeted us with a casual "How are you guys doing?" My partner was excited to try the Moscow Mule I've been raving about he didn't hear the question and proceeded to give Patrick's his order. However, Patrick's response was surprising; Patrick replied back "I said how are you guys doing" without acknowledging our order, which left my partner a bit taken aback. We managed to communicate that we were doing well and repeated our drink request. After that awkward exchange, we exchanged looks, wondering what had happened and how unprofessional it felt, but we decided to push through and enjoy the evening. However, when Patrick returned with our drinks, we noticed they weren't served in the usual copper cups, it appeared like Selzer water and was nowhere near what we expected. We decided to give it a try and it taste like bitter lime water. Disappointed, we set the drinks aside and were able to get Patrick's attention, asking why the drinks weren't served as they typically are. He informed us that they had stopped using the cups due to theft, which was disappointing to hear. We expressed that the drink didn't meet our expectations and requested to order something different. At this point Patrick's frustration was evident as he snatched the glasses from the bar and tossed them into the sink in a rather shocking manner splashing everywhere. This left us feeling quite uneasy, prompting my partner to suggest we move indoors. As we settled at the bar inside, still hopeful for a better experience, Patrick approached us and questioned why we had left our previous seats. My partner explained that his behavior had made us uncomfortable, and we didn't want any issues. What followed was even more surprising: Patrick began yelling at my partner, accusing him of being rude and insisting we take the argument outside. It was a truly upsetting scene, leaving me embarrassed and bewildered by such unprofessional conduct. Meanwhile, other patrons were urging my partner not to escalate things further, emphasizing that it wasn't worth it. As we set for what felt like time stood still, the other bartender did not even acknowledge us, we had to reach out to him and request to order and at this point I just felt so unwelcome and suggest that we leave. Since both my partner and I work in the customer service and hospitality industry, he suggested that prior to leaving we should reach out to the manager on duty. Unfortunately, none of the staff seemed inclined to deescalate the situation and service continued to be poor. After what felt like another ten minutes, a manager named Karen finally came over as we explained the rude and unprofessional service we had encountered with Patrick, all she could say was that she didn't understand his behavior and that he's usually friendly. Karen continued to provide excuses without any acknowledgment of wrongdoing, and Patrick persisted in trying to intimidate my partner passing through the bar with unwelcoming glares, I decided it was best to end the conversation. It wasn't leading anywhere productive. I let Karen know that we no longer felt comfortable in this situation and that we would be reaching out to the owner to address what we found unacceptable disturbing behavior. It's evident that Patrick is unfit for his role as a bartender in hospitality if he cannot manage customer dissatisfaction and resorts to verbally confronting patrons, even threatening to escalate matters. He should have been terminated immediately, but the only justification Karen could provide us was that he was her only bartender on duty. Karen then asked us not to write a letter and offered a complimentary meal. We chose not to accept this offer, as we felt hospitality, trust and respect had not been extended to us. Instead, she did not charge us for the drinks and gave us a gift card for a future visit Returning to town to see family, I found my recent experience quite different from what I have come to cherish about this place over the years. First off this place is huge! Definitely a place to consider if you are having a private party or just have a big group. Plenty of indoor, outdoor and bar seating. Additionally there is a big parking lot to accommodate. There are also plenty of TVs playing a variety of games with good visibility through out the restaurant. Servers and hosts were all very friendly. Our waiter was personable and polite. Any servers walking around were also friendly and helpful if we needed them. The food was ok. The menu is extensive so you are sure to find something you like. Price is on par for quality, typical bar food and prices. Portions were good, burgers all come with fries/salads included. Overall food was definitely very salty. Pizza was eh not the best, thin crust and not crispy, but flavors were okay. Food took a little while to come out but I think the kitchen was probably just backed up from some of the other big groups in. Everything was hot when it came out. The Stage House Tavern is a nice location for small gatherings and parties. I've come here for a birthday brunch on a Sunday and a fundraiser event on a Friday evening. The spread that they have for brunch was really good. Variety of stations plus a chocolate fondue fountain. At the Friday night fundraiser event, we had drinks (nice selection of beers on tap) and a bunch of appetizers. We have not had anything that was a miss from the menu; all hits. There were live music performers at both the brunch and fundraiser event. Good sound quality in the space, I thought. Our group was supposed to be 8 but at the time of seating, it was the four of us. As time trickled, 3 more ladies shown up to join us...but I dont believe they were provided directive from the hostess to find our table. Our waitress (cant remember name) (African American young lady with glasses) took good care of us and ensure our plates were removed from our table and any additional mimosas were brought to our table. We came for a buffet brunch with $5 mimosas for the duration of brunch ($28.95 each person). It was priced well. Food- was basic and just okay. The omelet station had a line but the attendant was quick and fast. I had omelet, french toast, rice, meatball ravioli, seafood in saffron, bacon, penne vodka...basic brunch buffet food. My sister and I went for dinner and drinks on September 27, 2025. The Sensational Soul Cruisers were playing. We made reservations. The restaurant did not charge a cover charge. We could not get a parking spot in their big parking lot nor the adjoining business lot. If it wasn't that I dropped my sister in front of the place I would have left. I had to park two blocks down a dark street heading toward the park. The food was delicious but we could not see the band though we had a good spot because of all the freeloaders in front of the band. There were a lot of them from the middle of the room blocking the band to the end of the room. Some had drinks but most of them were standing and did not buy anything all night. We stayed for over 3 hours and observed this. I believe this is why restaurants charge cover charge. We will not be going back for dinner when they have entertainment.
