She arrived after work with a couple of friends for Happy Hour, clearly stated that was the purpose of their visit, and was met with inattentive service and an impressive level of dismissiveness. Despite confirming they were there for Happy Hour, they were charged full price for their drinks. When questioned, the staff insisted they hadn't ordered items that qualified--then casually admitted the Happy Hour menu is unclear and difficult to decipher. For the record, she ordered two glasses of wine. Nothing exotic. Nothing confusing. What made the situation worse was the undertone of the interaction: a subtle but unmistakable suggestion that these women somehow didn't understand what they were ordering or what they could afford. My daughter and her friends are hardworking professionals and fully capable of paying a bill--what they shouldn't have to pay for is being talked down to or made to feel unwelcome. This wasn't about money. It was about honesty, clarity, and basic hospitality--none of which were present. An establishment can survive unclear menus; it cannot excuse poor service and dismissive attitudes. Got there late (8:45pm) on a very quiet Wednesday but was still greeted and accommodated by a friendly staff. It was almost time to close the kitchen but nobody rushed me and gave me a few minutes with the menu while they made my drink. I had the French onion soup and steak frites. The soup was excellent. Very rich and flavorful with perfect amount of cheese that was perfectly crisped on top. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce was fresh and flavorful. Fries were crispy and the potato flavor came through and nicely salted. Martini was very nicely done. In a situation where the staff could have easily rushed me through ordering and service as the kitchen closed at 9, it was the opposite and that alone was nice to see. And the food is excellent so all in all this is a great place and I will be back! read more

We are new to Summit... we saw this cute restaurant with a lot of patio space and decided it would be our first stop for a drink and dinner..I should mention we have a small dog and where we come from ALL dogs are welcomed and encouraged on an outside patio and alot of times are pampered with their own dog bowl of water (and sometimes a dog menu) The positives here the food was quite good! I had a chicken rice bowl and my husband the Wagyu burger...we had two margaritas (these were AVERAGE at best) Negatives..two upper management people came to speak to us about our dog to make sure it was a service dog ..we were confused ..ours is ...but who cares if it's not in the main building? The gentleman was nice and but the lady was a complete b*tch - condescending and almost hysterical. Needless to say ..we won't be visiting this establishment again. (note: the servers were very kind and professional...seems the upper people are insecure and on some sort of power trip or just dog haters) In the atmosphere where people are eating out less and less ...you would think they would be kinder and if you are just TOLERATING dogs on a patio ..you are not our people! We came here tonight with a reservation for a booth. We were seated at 1/2 a booth and I just assumed that that was what was being offered. My date noticed that there were full booths behind us and 2 were empty. We questioned the server who then asked a hostess who informed her that their were left for parties if 4 or more. We thought, okay fine until the table next to us which was a party of 4 and they asked for the empty booths as well. They were then told they were for ladies of 6 or more. Hmmmm. As we are all sitting there enjoying our dinners we notice a party of 2 now sitting at one of the booths we asked about. The woman next to us was fuming inside. I could see the steam coming off her forehead. She questioned the manager who then apologized and told them he would move them when he could and told us he would take care of us. So, to our meals, lol. My boyfriend ordered the French onion soup which was very cheesy and tasty. He also ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the shrimp pasta Genovese. They were both very good. Our server was very attentive and apologetic about the whole seating fiasco. I was a little upset that they took the pork nachos off their menu. It was my favorite thing on their menu. Oh well. The manager ended up taking off 30% of our bill which was pretty nice. Kudos to him. read more

We came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was decently busy, but there is a lot of seating inside and had no issues getting a table. I got a Bloody Mary that was extremely disappointing. It came in a small glass that was mostly filled with ice. I order bloody marys often and have to say I have never gotten one in such a small glass. The flavor was pretty bland. I was asked if I wanted it spicy and said yes, but all I could really taste is a bunch of Tabasco sauce that was poured in. It came with no garnishes other than a lime. No celery, olive, etc. I'd say at almost all places a Bloody Mary will cost $9-$12. I was taken aback when the bill came and was charged $13 for a half glass that was not good. For my meal I got the grain bowl. Again, extremely disappointed. It tasted really good, but the portion size was tiny and for $17 for a salad with no protein that leaves you hungry afterwards is quite crazy. It came with 2 Brussels sprouts cut in half, 2 cauliflower florets, and a single grape sliced. My wife got the southwest veggie burger and she enjoyed it. I had a few bites and it was quite good. Although, it was quite spicy, so if you aren't into spicy foods, I probably wouldn't order it. Our service was great. The waitress was pleasant and attentive and our food came out quickly. Some of the other dishes that we saw carried past us looked pretty good. I would come back and give them one more chance and try something else on the menu. read more

Sub-par food; Infinitely worse service My extended family and I ended up at Winberries for brunch as other local places had been closed for private events. Ie, it was not our intention to eat there, but it became a matter of convenience. We were 4 adults and 3 children, and were given a price of $43 per adult and $30 per child for the brunch buffet upon entering. Both my husband and I had recalled the food at Winberries not being the best, and were reluctant, however the family was hungry so we gave it a second try. Definitely a mistake. This is not the reason for my review, but the food was not good at all: stale muffins (more than one type were stale, experienced by two people at my table), very salty general tso's style chicken which was not actually meant to be an Asian dish, decent frittata, dried out pancakes, unsanitary looking mashed potatoes, commissary desserts (which were ok, but I presume they were made elsewhere) etc. There were enough options to suit a variety of tastes and dietary needs, but simply not great quality. However, we decided to share our experience due to the staff. In very poor judgement we were billed us as 6 adults and 1 child. My children are in 8th, 6th and 3rd grades. No one is close to being an adult. After requesting more information and politely asking for the bill to updated, we were told that only kids under 10 are charged as children . It would have been pertinent to tell us that at the door when we asked about the pricing. However, I would have thought that making a $13-26 adjustment for 1-2 of my kids would simply be obliged. Unfortunately our waiter said he'd need to ask his manager to review our request. We again politely agreed. Surprisingly, rather than than the manager simply agreeing to a $13-26 adjustment since we asked, and already had a large party dining and ordering drinks; she came to our table and asked "What's the problem" which obviously necessitated me to have to rehash my point of view when she clearly already had the information. This made an unnecessary moment even more unpleasant, now for every person at my table. It was senseless. Amazingly, she still insisted on charging our 8th grader as an adult after being told he was 13. I believe this decision was made mostly because the restaurant was nearly empty. She did agree to charge my 6th grader as a child, but made it seem as if she was doing me a favor, even after I told her he barely ate (he had lunch with teammates just prior). I dont recall ever having to knit pick a restaurant tab, which is out of character for my family. We are generous people and good tippers when dining out and I believe also gracious and polite guests; save my CHILDREN that at times might be louder than needed, because they are actually kids in elementary and middle school; and not adults. This restaurants insistence on charging us $26 more in the name of making a sale and horrible judgement and demeanor in customer service was egregious and uncomfortable. We hope others read it and make a much better decision for their lunch plans. Please don't even consider Winberries for dinner. read more
