As a YELPer, I'm obviously excited to have the opportunity for a little food, hopefully a great time in a cool looking place. Had lunch on Sunday. Arrived 12:50pm, not busy. Sat outside. Waited for our waitress. Other waitress got our drink and food orders. The loaded tots were good. 7 pieces though for 4 people. Then it was the waiting game. Took forever to get our ordered drinks and mains. Got the arugula salad with salmon. Overdressed greens; they were soggy. I was excited to see grilled beets on the menu, but only got a few pieces of small diced beets. My kid got the sliders and she enjoyed them as they were juicy. The crispy chicken sandwich was interesting as the chicken looked like ground meat patties, but mot description on the menu; was expecting whole breast. I'm running of eateries in Summit I'll patronize. Like Gregg Allman said after his fifth or sixth divorce, "I think I may have something to do with this..." or maybe it is more the Fran Leibowitz view - "I have standards." So I was resigned to resign my solo birthday blues from my state of mind and went into my local go-to Italian eatery. I don't think it's run by the same people or they're hiring the wrong people. As it was my birthday, I dared ask to sit in the back where it was quiet. I got a dismissive "no you're not allowed" and that ended 15 years of my patronage. So off I went to the Office and my waiter/service fellow was one of the most attentive, alert, engaging amazing waitstaff professionals I've encountered in years. Years. He personally transformed a glum self-pitying chow trip into an enjoyable evening - down to the fascinating revelation of an entire Mexican community descended from Indian ancestors from the 1500's! This was my first visit to The Office. It was a chill Saturday afternoon, and there was only one server taking care of the room so service was a bit slow. The manager was making her rounds and checked on us a few times, which I appreciated. There isn't anything particularly special about this spot but it's a nice place to grab a drink and an appetizer. This used to be a favorite local spot in high school. Not sure if NYC has jaded me or the quality has gone down in years. Unfortunately the service was non existent-we were forgotten for 10 minutes after being seated. After asking a server if they were our server, she responded no, but took it in stride saying she would be now. No shade to her as she did the best she could, but still not sure who was supposed to be our server and given that she had more tables than she could handle, our service was sporadic. Asides from the service, I was severely disappointed with the burger. I'm a fan of simple burgers, and the closest to basic was the office burger, with "office sauce." When I asked what the office sauce was I was told ketchup, Mayo, and pickles.... For some reason I envisioned in-n-out sauce. Boy was I wrong. When I separated the bun from meat I was shocked to see this congealed orange cheese whiz looking thing on the bottom of my bun. The consistency itself was sus, and deserved nothing better than to be scraped off onto a plate only to be relegated to a corner of our table for our group to mock all evening. I kept eating the fries even though those were far too soggy for a place with Tavern Grill in the name to serve. Decent place to come for lunch although I can't recommend the soups as they were insanely salty. As a person who consistently has a salt addiction - that's saying something! Goes for my friend's chowder as well as the 5 onion soup. The sweet potato fries are good and the beer list is long if that's your thing. Located in Summit, they focus on North Carolina favorites and a mix of Americana food. A good beer selection, over 35 choices including local brews. The Thai glazed cod was disappointing. Battered and deep fried, but soggy when it was out. The underlying noodle salad had a bitter flavor from I think the veggies which put me off eating them. The BBQ wings as an appetizer are good though, people liked those and the hummus. Don't know what appetizer mix was good for the table. Service was good, friendly and frequent check ins. One thing I don't get, they have the beer and dessert on an ipad, why not just include your menu instead of forcing people to scan a QR code on the table? I get that you're trying to keep from handing out too many iPads, but it seems really inconvenient to whip out my phone and pass around if others don't have their phone. read more

The Office is fine. Just fine. Exactly what one would expect from this type of restaurant. Things got off to a rough start. We were seated outside surrounded by un-bussed tables. Solid 10 minutes- no sever. Anxious for a beverage we went to the bar and ordered one. Back at the table for another 5-10 minutes, still no server. We eventually took it upon ourselves to relocate to a high top that was serviced by the bartender. She was friendly and efficient. Food was ok. Wings were tasty and while the sliders were creative, not really to our liking. My draft beer, a Carlsberg was horrible - unclean beer lines is my guess. Bartender gladly replaced it with a nice, fresh Warsteiner. Good draft beer selection but a bit too crafty for me. Atmosphere is very lively. Tried this restaurant again for dinner with family visiting from out of town. I honestly wouldn't recommend with a large group because it's hit or miss and some people weren't satisfied with their meals. Last night ordered salmon entree, cod with noodles, quinoa bowl with salmon instead of chicken, arugula salad and a burger. They are very accommodating with the menu and it was no big deal to order the quinoa bowl with salmon instead of chicken. We ordered a regular burger but it came with cheese. The cod was over cooked and rubbery, borderline inedible. The drinks were good. Service is good. Our server was very attentive but didn't see them once our meals were served. Someone else brought us the check. There is a manager that walks around and checks on guests but she came and asked how everything is but we were still waiting for our entrees. Nice restaurant for lunch. When we arrived it was a bit pass midday. It wasnt crowded and we were seated immediately. We had outdoor seating on the back of the patio. They also extended the outdoor seating to the parking lot to accommodate for COVID. The iPad menu was a nice touch, and featured photos of options. I came on a whim when my previous reservation somewhere else didn't work out. We came here at around like 9:30 pm, and they had plenty of seats for us in the dining area. There's also a bar area where you can watch sports on the television. We were seated almost immediately & the hostess actually said Sorry for the wait but we were literally only waiting for 1 minute, lol. Our waitress was really nice and our food came out promptly. The old-school pepperoni flatbread was really good. I really enjoyed the pepperoni's on top. It felt very authentic. The fries were good, too. I enjoyed the mini cookie trio. This place was of decent size with some outdoor seating in the front of the establishment. It was a traditional bar atmosphere it felt like. It was not that busy given the current situation and rules, but that did not help with the service. It took a long time for our orders to be placed as well as the food coming out. The check might have even taken longer to be placed at our table, not ideal. The menu, however, had a lot of appealing options. I went with the rare seared tuna burger ($16.50). It also came with a side of fries that were a tad soggy but had a nice seasoning blend. The burger consisted of ahi tuna, avocado, ginger root, soy, fresh wasabi, and sesame oil. The burger as a whole was mushy. There seemed to be too much of the ginger and oil present which appeared to make the burger like that. The flavors were all appetizing, but the burger just fell apart. The bread choice could have possibly been changed to absorb all of that. Will I go back? Possibly. read more

I had a great dinner here with a few of my friends. We got the truffle tots to start- so good and a great thing to split! I ordered the fungi flatbread which was absolutely delicious. Cozy restaurant felt very relaxed. TVs, outdoor seating, good looking menu why wouldn't I try this place. The staff was great. For the food, it was not bad just confusing. Curds were soft, topped with honey and served with marinara. Tavern burger the bun top was good but the bottom was paper thin and fell apart by time I finished. I could not taste the provolone or onions, because of some spicy tavern sauce that look like horseradish mixed with something spicy. Was expecting spice. My son had the chipotle burger (spicy) thinking I have the tavern and it won't have spice. Flavors did not blend. I ordered a glass of wine which was about $10 but it was a small glass. When my clients arrived one ordered the LIT and quasidillas. My other client ordered the chicken tacos and fries with a beer. I am a general fan of the Office. I have been going to it for years on and off but have never been to this location before. Their modernization, I have no idea when that happened, did well for them. I do not know if they always had an extensive selection of beer, but I am really enjoying that they have it now. The iPad for selecting brews is odd. I wish they would just let Untappd drive the availability. Either way, the drink combined with generally great food does the Office well. For dinner, I had the Ahi Tuna Avocado Toast - Mediterranean Quinoa, Watercress, Lime, Soy Dressing. This place is my local neighborhood bar and restaurant where I like to come unwind. It is located right off the train station, making it pretty convenient. It is always quite busy but never so crazy that you can't find a seat, well unless you come during a game. We usually eat at the bar where Mike, behind the bar, will ensure that your evening will be enjoyable. I have come here so often that I must have had at least 75% of the menu. We did sit at a table the bar area (thinking it would be faster) and there were maybe only a total of 8 patrons with 2 bartenders and runners/servers delivering food ordered. Next time was worse. And third time was even worse.
