Food: Good value for the price; clam chowder had plenty of clam meat and smoky bacon; wish it was thicker; salmon salad was tasty with salmon cooked to perfect medium; crabcake was delicious Service: friendly, very accommodating and kind Ambiance: fun, spacious, woodsy tavern vibes, love the open roof windows for extra sunshine read more

What a fabulous restaurant. First and foremost, I would like to begin by saying the staff that I have met during my two visits were exceptional and just so kind. I love to see the American flag outside before walking up the stairs and just all the details of the decor and the warm and professional staff to welcome you is very special. The presentation is also very special. I went to a rehearsal dinner for our friends wedding on Friday, July 24, 2026. I do wish we knew the name of the waitress the evening of the rehearsal dinner because she was so calm, caring, efficient. The wooden decor here is so cozy and the food was made very well and it was fresh. During this particular visit, I enjoyed the salmon and others really raved about the beef dish they ordered. We loved it so much we went back after the rehearsal dinner for another evening. I can now proudly say that I know what it is like to dine here for a special occasion and for a date night. My favorite so far is the clam chowder. It is so delicious and one of the best I have had in a long time. The lobster rolls are very beautiful as well - lobster cooked perfectly and a great amount of seasoning for the fries and the lobster roll. One suggestion I would have is to have the lobster roll to be served with a tiny side salad with the french fries. I feel this would elevate the experience. They have an extensive drink menu and some beautiful craft cocktails. During the event, I was able to see all the different craft cocktails they ordered and they appeared to be exquisite. I enjoyed a nice glass of white wine and felt this paired with my dinner well. The banana bread is also very delicious and served with a lovely custard (I am not usually a fan of all custards). The banana bread, custard and vanilla ice cream was definitely a must try. If you go to Tabor Tavern, ask for Rolyn! Pure hospitality, wonderful energy, and took such good care of us. He kept checking in and provided a five star service but also feeling like a cozy family member checking in on you - quietly and calmly. Thank you so much. I am looking forward to returning with family, friends and date night. I wish the restaurant was a little closer and I am also excited to try the sister restaurants. God bless you all! read more

Dropped in on a Friday in afternoon on a ride home , found it charming and warm. The service was good and they were prepping for evening so I missed the candles , came out when I was leaving . I curated the burger with onions didn't need tomatoes . Overall it was good . Music is very 80s and Jersey not my scene , but let me add the volume was moderate and no commercials which is a bonus big time . Some servers were nice and expect the host to be more inviting but felt neutral . Get Little excited , it's Friday . read more

Came to lunch here with my husband on a Tuesday. From the second we walked in, we were greeted with some of the most hospitality I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Every single worker we interacted with that day, the hostess, our servers and the manager who checked in on us were so pleasant and friendly which was refreshing. Additionally, upon entering I was in awe with how beautiful the establishment was. It was elegant inside yet gave off those tavern vibes had very reasonable pricing, despite how upscale the place feels. Our server was so kind and helpful. He gave us suggestions from the menu and made great recommendations to my husband who is very particular with the beer he likes. Our food came out very quickly and was delicious! I only wish the Waygu dumplings were steamed and not fried, as they were a little heavy. It didn't seem to specify that it was fried on the menu and we also were not asked if we wanted them steamed or fried. Nonetheless, the food and even my mocktail was delicious! A beautiful lunch and we hope to be back when in the area again. Thank you!!! read more

Before I begin, I want to say that our server was awesome. She did such a great job - so this review has nothing to do with her. We went to TRT for my mother in laws birthday. We have been there a few times and it was always great. Someone in our party was late, and since you have to put apps and entrees in together, it ended up pushing us back a half hour. After we placed our orders, our apps took forever. Then it seemed like another hour before our entrees came. The food was OK - not worth the wait for sure. I feel like the ambience at TBT is awesome, but the food this time was just eh. Unfortunately we had to wait for dessert because we had already told the staff we wanted a candle in a dessert for the birthday we were celebrating. It was actually the fastest part of dinner. We ended up spending almost 3 hours at the restaurant - 5:45-8:30. Not sure we will be back any time soon unfortunately. It took too long and the wait for the food wasn't worth it. read more

What a beautiful restaurant! Went in for lunch on a Monday and it was quite busy. Got seated, server took our order and got our drinks. The iced tea service is spectacular and just so good. The kitchen must have been backed up - took almost an hour and our server didn't check in, but it was fine. The meal - trio of salad, soup, and a crispy chicken slider - was really excellent, and at a great price. Felt like I was getting good value for money here. Would recommend reservations, looks like this place gets very busy! read more

I was there with my husband and 2 adult children on 9/5/26. The main course came before some of the appetizers. When the rest of the meal was served, it was cold. The manager Curtis called me and apologized. He told me he would have comped some of our meal had I said something. Well, he came over and saw the burger before the rolls. He offered to cook new meals so they would be warm when we finished the appetizers. They were not warm. I feel like I shouldn't have to complain when the manager is present and aware. He also said to be on the lookout for an email which I never received. Horrible experience for overall! read more

I've been hearing about Tabor Road Tavern for 15 years or more, as my neighbors used to frequent the place to the point where they had the head bartender attend their home dinner parties. They were always complimentary, so when I had a vendor ask me to lunch in the greater Parsippany/Morris Plains area and asked where I would like to go, this place naturally came to mind. Been really anxious to try it but I just don't work down that way often enough around meal time. I was promptly greeted by the hostess, and my party had not yet arrived so they chose to seat me. I was okay waiting by the entrance, but they seemed to want me seated. I feel it would have been proper to ask what my preference was, but whatever. Dining room was brightly lit, clean, and tables are comfortably set with some privacy and space between. My vendor arrived a few minutes later and we were greeted by our server. He was so patient, as he had to come back at least three times to ask if we had reviewed the menu....we were busy catching up on business and just hadn't looked but we did order two lager beers and they were quickly served. Tasty, and at a good temperature. She got a chicken salad and I ordered the Tabor Road burger, bacon on the side. I found the burger to be very good, cooked perfectly to temperature and I believe it was prime so it was very tender. Good toppings, but glad I got the bacon on the side as it was way too smokey and overly seasoned. I gave it to my tablemate top placed on top of her salad and that worked out well. Prices are a bit on the high side at $21 for that burger. I mean, I would put the quality and quantity of food against any good pub serving a burger at $16. Now you may say, that's not much difference but would you willingly pay 25% more for any product or service of similar quality? Would I go back? Maybe....we shall see. The services was top notch, I will say that. They make you feel very important. Good selection for a business meeting. read more

This was my first time here at tabor road tavern, when I first walked in it was very beautiful and reminded me of a wood cabin. They sat us in the front of the restaurant on the left side booths (it's not a typical booth) The arms are almost touching the table to a point where you have to hop over it, personally I found that part a little bit uncomfortable however once you get passed it the booth is very comfy) please note if you are a heavier person you will not fit, please as for a regular table. (Refer to my posted photo for context) also the tables have this paper sheet on top of the cloth which makes it a little bit annoying every time my arm rubbed against the table it would start to curl up the paper which was irritating my skin texture wise since I can feel the corner poking me lol) our sever was very nice and knowledgeable which was perfect for our first time here, the offer you to start still, sparkling or tap water we got the bottled still and the brand was (aqua panna) for drinks, my boyfriend tried the Pinot noir and I had the summer time mocktail (which was really good) we ordered the calamari as an appetizer and my honest opinion I liked it I just didn't love it. I'm Portuguese so I have a certain taste for seafood and don't get me wrong the squid tasted fresh and very soft however it was lightly battered so once my fork punctured it the breading seemed to slip right off (my preference is heavy crunchy) either way it was good it just depends on your preference, for our main course we ordered the pork chops (we were told they were slow roasted and very juicy) and I ordered the warm lobster roll it typically comes with old bay fries but I was allowed to switch it over to Parmesan fries. As far as the pork chops they was nice and soft and very flavorful, as far as the whipped potatoes they were soft as well, as for my lobster roll it was was room temperature which threw me a bit off since I was expecting it to me very warm like I'm used to. The only part I didn't like was how the plate was hotter then the actual meal lol (I've worked at a restaurant that means it's been sitting under the food warmer section for a little while) overall it was very good I just don't like a hot plate with room temperature food. The truffle fries were good but overall the fries were so skinny and smooth that all of the toppings (parm) would slip right off the fries, like they wouldn't stick to it. As a truffle lover I love when it has mass amounts of parm sticking on the fry. As far as the desert menu it was very diverse but I was basic and got the mango sherbet, which was normal. The total came out to $142 which I feel like it's reasonable for the service you get. Overall I enjoyed it I just expected but it's just small details that bothered me something funny I noticed it that on the bottom of the receipt says (book your Mother's Day brunch reservation) lol we were in June that was last month lol. read more

I find it very expensive for lunch, and not a fan of beer selection to many craft beers

Had high hopes here for a good Rueben ! Had plenty of corned beef however hardly any sauerkraut and dressing on it which is what really makes the Rueben! Friend had the wings which he didn't finish said they were terrible, the meat was discolored even , I think he ate 3 of them and threw the remainder away. I will however say the barkeep was great and kept us stocked on drinks. read more

This was my first time here, and I'm not opposed to trying it again but my God my lunch was awful. I got the lunch trio and I have yet to try the soup but the salad was so-so and the salmon was so bad. It had absolutely no seasoning on it and was so small and crispy, a fast food fish sandwich would be more impressive. Our waitress was nice and the wine was too, although a small ass pour. Kind of lame there was only one soup choice also. I honestly hate being so negative, but I left there utterly disappointed. Thanks for the Apple I guess... read more

When I was in the area more often, I always loved coming here. Since I was back in the area for work, I decided to stop in for lunch. The place is as great as I remembered. I decided to try the lunch trio where you can pick three options and I decided to have the chowder, Caesar salad, and the pan seared salmon; it was all very good; the salmon was cooked perfectly. The service, as usual, was fast and friendly. read more

I attended this place once again. For an appetizer, the crunchy shrimp spring rolls were ordered. They came with a lime miso dressing and a sweet chili sauce. I initially thought they would come out cold because I saw spring rolls but should have known better since they were also described as crunchy. They were tasty and both sauces enhanced the rolls. I liked the contrast between the dressing and sauce. The spring rolls were also open-faced, which made them messier than they had to be, but they were filled to capacity. For my meal, I went with the Tabor Road burger. The meat was a ribeye blend with garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato, pickles, caramelized onions, and Swiss cheese. I opted for the meat to be cooked medium rare and that was how it came out, perfect cook. There was a solid ratio of bread to filing. It was a well-seasoned burger along with the other fixings. It also came with a side of fries that came out hot and crispy with enough seasoning. My only issue was the cheese was not fully melted, but not a huge deal. For dessert, the Reese's half-baked cookie was ordered. It came with a vanilla gelato, caramel sauce, and whipped cream. The cookie had Reese's pieces, which I was not expecting. It came out very warm and soft. The vanilla gelato was a great compliment to that. It was a satisfying ending to the meal. read more

Great food with even better service. We had a 7pm reservation and arrived a little early, but were still seated right away. Our waiter Chris came over to greet us and take our drink order. We ended up getting the spicy strawberry basil margarita and the bergamot smoked old fashioned, both of which were strong and delicious. For our appetizer we ended up going with the tuna tartare crisps. This was light and so fresh that I found myself wanting more. Entrees were the prime short rib and the wagyu flank steak. The dishes were great, but I will say that this is not necessarily somewhere that will do a lot of modifications, although I think they'd accomodate for allergies. I just didn't want cherry tomatoes with my dish, but was told that with the way the dish is prepared it wasn't really possible. The true highlight was our waiter - he was such a fun person to chat with and definitely made the experience better. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and has a bar area, so I can definitely see this being somewhere great for happy hour or dinner after work. read more

Great service, great food! We sat at the bar and Diane was our server. The inside has a barn feel to it, it's rustic with high wood beams and a fireplace that was burning. Diane was friendly and tended to our drink orders right away, she even gave me a fresh, cold Martini glass to refresh my martini while we were eating. Lunch menu was very reasonable and portions were large. We didn't need an appetizer or dessert. Halibut was cooked a little firm but still good, the romesco sauce on the bottom gave it a unique touch. The burger was a double patty and my husband really enjoyed it. He had the seasonal Pacino old fashioned, which I even liked, seemed to be a favorite as we saw others ordering the same. It had a hint of sweetness. Inside was nicely decorated for the holidays with poinsettias throughout. read more

My husband and I went here for our anniversary lunch today and the Caesar salad was awesome, my husband's lettuce wedge salad was more than expected, his crabcake appetizer became his entrée and he said it was amazing!! My entrée of a lobster roll was the BEST I've ever had - even better than the ones we had in Kennebunkport!!! The service was excellent, and we were complimented two champagne glasses of Prosecco to toast our anniversary! If I could give it six stars, I would! Definitely recommend it and we will be going back! read more

Overpriced and not worth the price. Uptight staff and manager. Food is sub par and drinks are standard but way overpriced.

We went to Tabor Road Tavern for Father's day because it was easy and not far from everyone. Two of us had the lobster roll and two of us had the turkey sandwiches. The waitress was wonderful. Cozy and rustic vibes with a comfort style food menu to match. Tabor Road is part of Harvest Restaurant Group and you can definitely tell - they always do a great job with the decor. We started out with maple biscuits with honey butter. These came served hot and fresh and they were divine. For my main I went with the cavatelli with sausage and broccoli. Usually this dish has a lighter sauce with olive oil and garlic, but this was full out mac and cheese. This was a pleasant surprise though. It was so decadent and gooey and the breadcrumb topping added the perfect crunch. The portion was also very generous. We posted up at the bar (which has a great ambiance) and enjoyed everything with a few beers. Even though this is labeled as a 'tavern' it's definitely a nicer dining experience, and you can expect to see $40-$50 entrees like steak and lobster. I'm not sure if I'd come back with my kids, but for date night it's a great option. read more

I ate at Tabor Road Tavern with coworkers/business associates so my pics were limited but we all enjoyed this restaurant. We had a party of 10 people and had made a reservation in advance. We had a small room just for our party. We ordered several appetizers for the table: calamari, cauliflower, salads, etc. for the main course, the table ordered a variety of items. A few ordered the Beef Wellington, some the halibut. I went with a burger and the truffle fries. It was good, but not outstanding (wish I'd chosen something else). The rest of the people were very happy with their meals. The drink menu was varied, including nonalcoholic cocktails, seasonal adult cocktails, and also wine (by the bottle or glass). The dessert menu also looked amazing. We did not order any however. My observation is that the desserts were on the expensive side (like $15 each). The rest of the menu was appropriate in price. Our server was really great. Considering the size of our table, she did a fantastic job. Friendly, not hovering but no one ran out of water or other beverage. The speed of the food was perhaps a bit slow but considering the size of our party, it was very good. Overall, I can recommend this spot for a large party. read more

The food was fantastic ! We started with the cauliflower which had the perfect amount of breading and was full of flavor. For entrees, my wife had the beef Wellington and I had the Faroe island salmon; both were delicious but the Wellington was the best one we've ever had. The service was a bit lacking however as we went through three servers during the course of one dinner. Also the place needed a clean as our booth had a thick line of white dust alongside the edge. That being said, overall we had a great experience and can't wait to come back. read more

First time here. Service was STELLAR. No less than 5 staff visited our table. Started with the Shrimp Casino. Just one adjective required: BUTTER! It was so incredible my husband asked for bread to soak up the butter/gruyere pooling in the dish. Must try. I had the NY Strip Steak over mashed. It was perfectly cooked and perfectly paired with the cheesy tasting spuds. Husband had the halibut. It was excellent and beautifully cooked. The creamy sauce was not overpowering. Finished with lattes and chocolate gelato. 3 critiques: 1. Gelato was very clearly freezer burned, which we told the server about. 2. We were seated quite far from the kitchen with a fireplace separating us. It was very very loud and we heard the chefs yelling at everyone. 3. Place is beautiful but Didn't care for choice of music which leant an atmosphere more like a sports bar. All in all we loved it and the food was excellent! read more

The place was nice and cozy. We sat at the bar, what we usually like to do. I ordered the spicy pineapple margarita and it did not disappoint. We ordered a few apps to share. We got the lobster bites Wagyu crispy dumplings And I had to ordered the Brussel sprouts with pancetta. The Brussels were a bit disappointing. Very plain and we both agreed needed salt. We added salt and it helped. The wagyu dumplings were okay. Just tasted like a plain meatball to us. It was supposed to be served with a truffle ponzu dipping sauce but we didn't taste any truffle in it. The lobster bites were soo good though. Wish we had more! Service was kind from everyone. No complaints there. I didn't have the "best" first impression with the food but I would like to go again and try another cocktail and more food. I'll be back! Thank you! read more

I do not like Tabor Tavern, I LOVE it! I was there last Sunday for a private birthday party and the entire event could not have gone better. First, there were passed appetizers: Shrimp Cocktail Mac and Cheese bites Mini Egg Rolls Cheeseburger sliders Mozzarella and Tomato skewers For my main, I went with a delicious lemon flounder with potato and asparagus; it was a check plus. I noticed on the beverage menu that Tabor Tavern had table-side iced tea carafes. I ordered two for the table; white peach tea with ginger and a raspberry herbal. The presentation was INCREDIBLE. The waiter came to the table with a small carafe of brewing tea and a double-sized carafe FILLED to the brim with ice, plus additional glasses filled to the top with ice and lemon. Then, he poured the hot tea into the larger ice-filled carafe and set it on the table. WOW. Just WOW!!! I mean, where else does THAT happen???? Dessert and coffee were fantastic as well. The section we had reserved had its own live fireplace, lots of windows & decorated with nice linens. We were met with a table of apps, such as a charcuterie board & fruits. Very well presented! For lunch, we had a 3 course meal with our choice of a salad or soup, 4 entrees & lemon buttercream cake. Such an elegant place & definitely worthwhile for a nice party such as a bridal shower. Excellent dinner last night at Tabor Road Tavern! I've driven past this restaurant on Rt 10 in Morris Plains hundreds of times, so glad we finally dined there. What hits you when you walk in is how beautiful it is inside. The high ceilings, the natural wood, and plenty of fireplaces make such a nice setting for dinner, especially on a winter night. We were a group of 4 and all of us thought the food was delicious. I started with a Maple Spice Old Fashioned cocktail which went down smooth. The Just Baked Cheddar Onion Biscuits were very good, as was the New England Clam Chowder. Our entrees included the Filet, Pork Chop, Strip Steak, and my Slow Braised Short Ribs. We planned the perfect rehearsal dinner for my son and his now wife. Unfortunately the Tabor Road Tavern did not deliver There were no servers ,the dinner was served 2.5 hour after we arrived, our drinks were never refilled Half of our party had to leave because the big event was scheduled for the next day before desert was even served which took an additional hour My husband did say something to the manager and he assured us that we would not have to pay for the drinks, but then we were charged anyway. We called and were told the general manager would handle the situation, which also did not happen We paid a lot of money for the perfect event and the Tabor Road Tavern did not do anything to rectify the horrible outcome. It was actually heartbreaking. We are so disappointed. Don't plan any events there if you want your the perfect day read more
