No one can beat the lunch special at the capital grille. For $27 you get a delicious 2 course meal and the absolute best service. We started off with a ceasar salad and my husband decided to upgrade with a French onion soup. Amazing ambiance and professionalism in a beautiful environment with the right prices.

Happy hour is great and available in the bar area M-F from 3-6pm. The portions are smaller, tapas style. The prices are great. $10 cocktails, oysters casino are only available at cocktail hour, The sliced sirloin with aji verde is great, kind of like a cilantro oil sauce. The petite file sandwiches are delicious and the sautéed onions are super sweet. Parmesan truffle fries are great and are a very large portion. Hint, don't forget to ask for the bread basket, great variety!

The Capital Grille is an upscale, modern restaurant. I had a work event here. Staff were great - friendly and very attentive to our party of 20. Our party had passed hors devours and platters. Food was quite tasty and they had a great variety of options to choose from. The restaurant has an extensive wine menu, with some special reserves listed. Overall a great experience with delicious and fresh food.

The service, while impeccable, couldn't fully justify the price you're paying for food. Though the food was delicious it didn't measure up to their cost. The dry aged steak for example (which costed nearly $100 at the time of this review) was tasty but wasn't life changing and, if anything, tasted like any other steak that was nicely seasoned and cooked. If anything perhaps go to the Capital Grille once for the experience, but beyond that you might be better off splurging elsewhere.

We came here for a work lunch with customers. We had a very attentive waiter who was just on top of everything. I got the tuna for lunch and it was absolutely delicious. Followed by the almond cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Great place to conduct business as it was not loud where you can't hear the other person.

Exceptional wait staff ! Hands down 5 star service, you get what you pay for. Food was cooked to perfection between appetizers and entrees. Cocktails were delish, I guess that's why the bar was full. Great experience and can't wait to return.

Went for the Waygu and Wine event today. Had a wonderful experience, we walked in just as they opened -- greeted by James C. Place setting at bar was ready, nice and quiet. James was amazing, very friendly and attentive. I've eaten here numerous times, the food was amazing. From our appetizers to our main all arriving piping hot!

There are quite a few steakhouses in the area, but Capital Grille remains my favorite. The service is excellent. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The manager also stopped by to make sure everything was good. The ambience is excellent. You have an open view of the kitchen and the wine collection. You definitely feel like you're in a great restaurant. The food is first rate. We started with a nice bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. My wife had a salad and I ordered a crock of French Onion soup. The soup may have been the best French Onion I've ever had. We both had the filet as our entrees. I had the sliced filet with cippollini onions and mushrooms, my wife had the 10 oz filet. Sides of au gratin potatoes and asparagus were a good combo. The steak is just amazing here! We topped the meal off by sharing the seasonal berries. Just a great meal! There's quite a few choices in local steakhouses, but Capital Grille is still my #1!

Been going here for quite some time. Last night I had what was their standard ribeye. A solid ribeye. No complaints. Service was great tonight. My colleague has a serere allergy to nutts and he made to dessert and out the door so they did a good job in that front. Ambiance is always the same. Buisness lunch/dinner vibes. They make a solid cocktail and always do. There were 1 or 2 dinners I've had here where the steak was 11 out of 10. I still chase that steak when I come and go. Overall it was a solid dinner with great service.

The Capital Grille offers an exceptional fine dining experience that consistently impresses me. This is another "chain" restaurant I frequently return to and its my choice throughout the US because of their consistency from location to location. My home base location is in Parsippany NJ and their performance is nothing short of spectacular. Renowned for their expertly prepared dry-aged steaks, and hand-cut by on-premise butchers, the restaurant ensures each cut meets the highest standards. Complementing the exquisite cuisine is an extensive wine list featuring over 350 selections. I love the attentive service and meticulous attention to detail, making it an ideal venue for regular dining and special occasions. Notable dishes include the Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers, Filet Mignon (nine in and boneless), which I love because of its tenderness and precise preparation. The Capital Grille stands out as a premier dining destination for B I the dinner and lunch. Their commitment to culinary excellence and outstanding service ensures a memorable, consultant experience for me every time I visit regardless of location.

Consistently solid meal and dining experience at Capital Grille. Ordered cocktails, the Negroni Blanco was perfectly served; the mezcal Negroni was a miss not sure why. French onion soup and oysters were yummy way to start the meal along with the generous bread basket. Teri C was professional and attentive walking us through the specials and sides for our meal that night. Great venue in an office park off RT 10. Room was buzzing with the mix of families and date nights on this lazy Sunday. The NY Strip with porcini rub and aged balsamic was excellent. Mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were the perfect accompaniment for the steak and we finished with an espresso flourless chocolate cake for dessert.

Two lions greet you at the entrance.

Zero Stars! I walked…read morein on Sunday with my girlfriend as we always try to hit up all of the local breweries, tap rooms, and brewpubs when we are traveling or visiting towns to support the small craft beer industry because we always enjoy their beers and the environment. Now with that being said, this isn't any of the three. First off, we walked in and up to the bar and asked for a drink menu and the bartender who had zero personality, didn't say hello, how are you, wasn't smiling, and then says hold on let me see if I can serve you. Wait what? Isn't this a craft beer bar? He said there is a christening going on and I don't know if they want anyone else in here. I was like are you serious? A christening in a bar and with nothing on the door or anywhere saying the bar is closed for a party. Gotcha! So some guy walks up to him while he is talking to us and says he doesn't want us in there. Hilarious!!! I hope the owner knows you denied business to actual customers because some local cool guy wanted the whole place to himself to have his kids christening at a local bar so everyone could enjoy their quesadillas(from what I seen walking out). FYI: there was no one sitting at the bar or bar area just about 10-15 people sitting at a couple tables eating and drinking. I'll never return for any reason.

Matches the Frog menu. * Nice beer selection - 20 on tap. * Only had summer beers since it's July. Only dark beer was Guinness, oh well. So I tried the mule since they have so many. The one mule I had was fantastic - I forget the name, but it's the Mexican one with the jalapeno. Actually spicier than our calamari! Wonderful drink. Downside: * A bit pricy. But that's Morristown in general. Whatcha gonna do. * 1-star deduction: Rude bartender. I thought beer #10 was smudged so I asked about it and she said it was gone. I then saw a different one in the online menu so I asked the friendly server if the tap was replaced. The rude bartender turned around and snapped "I told you it's tapped. It's done. Don't ask." Minus one star for the bartender, but fortunately the rest of the night went great here. If the establishment reads this - please deal with whoever was behind the bar yesterday around 5-6 PM. I would literally turn around and walk back out if I saw her, and I would absolutely stay if she wasn't there.

First, overall I'd say the food was very good on all five visits. The first two nights, I had dinner here. On the first night, I sat at the bar and enjoyed a bowl of the French onion soup and the halibut. The soup wasn't huge for $12, but it tasted good, and the halibut was quite flavorful. I didn't realize at the time, but they add in an 18% gratuity, so tip extra at your own risk. On the second night, I ate at a table with two coworkers. I had the chicken paillard, which was a large portion and also very good. Service was strong at both the bar and table on consecutive nights. For the three breakfasts, I pretty much had the same thing every day...an omelette with a side of fruit. It also came with potatoes, but it would've been nice if it came with toast or something similar without needing to pay extra. Again, food was good. Service the first day was fine. The next two days, the older gentleman providing service couldn't have cared less. I (and others) would show up at 6:30, when they opened, but nobody would be there. We'd sit ourselves and then wait. Eventually he'd show up. It was difficult getting coffee too, as both days, my cup sat empty for a long time until I'd eventually flag him down. Everything was on his time. I would've given him little/no tip...if the 18% wasn't already added in. The rest of the restaurant...food and service...gets a 5. This guy gets a 1. I probably should've given this a 3, but it didn't seem fair to everything/everyone else.

Review: Café Faubourg - Montclair…read more Café Faubourg is one of Montclair's true gems--an authentic French bistro that feels as if it were lifted straight from a quiet Parisian street and placed right in the heart of town. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance sets the tone: warm lighting, intimate tables, and that unmistakable bistro charm that makes every meal feel like a small escape. The food is consistently excellent, starting with their hummus, which is surprisingly standout for a French spot. Smooth, flavorful, and beautifully plated, it's the perfect way to begin the meal and pairs wonderfully with their fresh bread. The steak frites is a must-order and easily one of the best in the area. The steak is tender and cooked exactly to preference, richly seasoned without being heavy, and served alongside crisp, golden fries that are everything you want in a classic bistro dish. It's simple, authentic, and prepared with the kind of care that elevates a traditional favorite into something memorable. Service at Café Faubourg is warm and attentive without being intrusive, contributing to the relaxed elegance of the experience. Whether you're dropping in for a casual dinner or celebrating a special occasion, the staff makes you feel welcome and unrushed. The inside has both a main dining hall and a greenhouse, which feels like basically sitting on a covered patio with well kept shrubbery and ambient lighting. It's a neat balance of modern and open while still feeling cozy. I think my favorite dish is the ramp fava bean toast -- the umami from the purée balanced with the crunch of the toast and the brightness from the pickled ramps. I'd also recommend the steak two ways -- both cuts cooked perfectly to medium rare -- and the lobster linguine was delicately fragrant, buttery, and slightly acidic all at once. The chips and eggplant dip (kind of like hummus consistency) was kind of a fun, shareable starter too. I will say that I wasn't impressed with the ceviche or branzino our waiter recommended it. The branzino particularly came out a bit dry, and more of the tomato-olive-caper side or dressing would've helped. And while our waiter answered our questions, service felt a little more on the less attentive side.
