After spotting a social media post about the garden's Cascade fountain reopening after a 16-month restoration, my walking companion and I decided to check out this hidden gem. Greenwood Gardens was a private family estate until 2003, when it opened to the public under the auspices of a non-profit organization, and you can really feel that rich tapestry of the families' history as you wander through the grounds. The highlight of our visit was the Cascade fountain, which now features water flowing through it for the first time since the early 20th century! If you're looking for a peaceful, historic, and beautiful place to stroll, Greenwood Gardens is absolutely worth the visit. We'll definitely be back! I picked up my glass, which was wet with condensation, and it slipped out of my hands. I was able to collect it with only a minor spill, but the host insisted that the bar staff make me a new cocktail in case the glass had chipped at all. It was a considerate gesture that I greatly appreciated. Plus, since I had already taken a few sips, I was thrilled to get those back in a new glass! In terms of my cocktail of choice, I had opted for the Hot Tijuana Tease, a fiery blend of mezcal, blanco tequila, chile poblano liqueur, and lime juice. So, it was essentially a spicy margarita, and it was excellent. There were clean, crisp notes of peppery heat balanced with layers of robust smoke. My only complaint about the lounge was that the bathrooms were beyond tiny. There were two unisex stalls in a very tight alcove that also included a cramped sink counter. Drinks and food were both great. The chicken wings seemed more like nuggets but had a really good batter and was fried nicely, fingers weren't really greasy. So good we ordered another one. There was only one bartender taking our orders so it took a while to place our order since he was really busy but he was super kind and attentive, kept refilling our waters when it got low. This is a great place to wind down whether you just want some food and drinks on you're own after work or if you got a small party to chat with, volume is not too loud. Like the spare ribs they're known for but overall it doesn't always taste freshly prepared and can sometimes be overly salty. The bar is also inconsistent; I've had well-made drinks, but other times they've been watered down. On one visit, I even found a bug in my drink, but the bartender did replace it without issue. On the positive side, the staff is consistently friendly, accommodating, and service is usually quick. Overall, it's a decent spot for casual events like birthdays or retirement parties, but not ideal for anything more upscale or polished in my opinion.

Te'Niijah and A'tasia were an absolute dream to work with. They were professional friendly and always accessible whenever we had questions. They offered helpful recommendations and made us feel supported throughout the planning process. You can tell they genuinely care about making your event special and stress free.
