A decent size brewery sometimes with live music. Came on a Friday night and it was packed. Loved that you can bring outside food. The staff was ok but it seemed like they expected you to know what you wanted to drink. They didn't ask if I wanted to sample anything. It was almost as though they were rushing to move the line. And the line through the middle of the room kept me from seeing the live musician. There's gotta be a better system. I got the Raspberry Jawn and loved it. This place is spacious and the lady and boy working that day(assuming her son) were both nice and speedy with their service. Great beer. On this point alone they are one of the top breweries to visit in New Jersey. As with most breweries in NJ they don't serve food, but they do offer a list of places you can call for delivery, which is nice. I hear the laws in general around liquor licenses for New Jersey are headed for a massive positive change (for customers anyway) so it will be interesting to see how these places adapt... anyway... The place itself is wonderful. Generous space both inside and out. Friendly service and a decent list on tap. No flights? Well, this one point stopped me from giving them five stars. Yes, they are super generous with tasting samples. That, and the 8oz pours kind of makes out to be a compromise, but it isn't in the end. The samples make me feel bad about not paying for them and for someone that visits breweries for variety the 8oz pours are still too much. Bring flights to the bar or put 4/5oz pours on the menu. If you want to try some really good beers look no further. Conclave Brewing located in Flemington is just the place. They have delicious Pilsners, Blonde Ales, Pale Ales, Fruited Sours, English Dark Mild, and Indian Pale Ales. My favorite is SUMMER JAWN- A slightly sour beer with a hint of raspberry flavor. It was really good and very refreshing on a hot summer's day. You can enjoy sitting in their Biergarten or inside at one of their tables. The staff was very friendly, and accommodating. This place was on my list of breweries to try. I got my passport book stamped. read more

6/19/2020 Opened at 4 with an outside seating area. The area is first come fist serve and at 4:11 Friday, it was almost full and had adequate shade. There are picnic tables scattered around the parking lot area, I guess for overflow seating and most are under trees. Again, the different size pour options here is something the husband loves since he believes that you can't understand the flavors of a beer in a flight, so he loves the 8oz pours. Finding what's on tap is a bit of a hassle as you go to the website, redirect to ontapped, gotta hope it's updated....but I guess that's the way to go during pandemic times. Excellent brewery! I drive almost an hour just to visit it. The tap list is very IPA heavy, which I prefer, but they also have good stouts & pilsners. The indoor space is rather small but it's always clean & I never have an issue finding seating. I typically go on Sundays, however they do their can releases on Wednesdays so I'm usually unable to get cans to go because they are sold out by then (which is another sign they make great beer). Service is always friendly & knowledgeable about the beer & will offer you tastings. Crowlers & Growlers are refillable & reasonably priced. read more

I had a couple beers while in the area having never heard of the brewery before. The available taplist was a bit IPA heavy for my tastes but I was able to dig into a nice farmhouse that hit the spot. You can order 8 oz pours for tasting purposes. There are a couple outdoor seating areas and lot of space indoors. If the weather is nice, go outside! read more

Conclave Brewing was having a limited can release of their Lilting Grace on 1/11/2020. The staff was was able to accommodate everyone in line by limiting the purchase to two 4-packs per person after realizing that they were going to sell-out soon. This was greatly appreciated since my ride to Conclave was over an hour. The purchase process went smoothly. After a small wait, the line entered the main door, pay for your purchase, walk to the brewery, pick up your purchase and you're on your way. Easy peazy. It's been my goal to visit each and every brewery in NJ, and it took a while to finally get to Conclave. Flemington is just far from where I live, and their hours are relatively limited. But I kept hearing good things, so I finally made it on Saturday. I'm so happy I went. Conclave has a really nice crowd of people who go. They are funky and friendly. It's a small, quaint place. It's everything I like a brewery to be. The day we were there, the weather was perfect, and it was nice having the hatch open. There's a small bar area on the left side, and the main brewing area is on the right. Their "Gravitational Waves" IPA was my favorite. Apparently it's their flagship. I could just drink that everyday and not get tired of it. Some of the other beers I tried were still good, just not the same as Gravitational Waves. I like how they refrigerated my growler before filling it with their beer. I like how I was able to meet one of the co-owners. That makes a difference in my experience. I like hearing about how they got started, and what their plans are for the future. Apparently, they are going to be moving next door in the same industrial park to a space much larger than what they have now. Occasionally they do can releases, which is really popular. Their beer is rated very well, so people want their cans badly. They sell out quickly. I will try to make it back when they do a can release. Conclave is probably the best place to hang out in Flemington. read more

Located in a nondescript warehouse looking building, Conclave is not the easiest place to find. But you will want to find it. Came here for the release of a new Double IPA, Interpretation of Dreams. J-J-J-J-Juicy! Had heard great things about their beers and even though taproom hours are limited (i.e. 6-8pm on Thursday), made the trek over from Monmouth County. Apart from the great DIPA release, I was also lucky that Mexican Evening was available on draft. Smooth, milky, cinnamon chocolate delight. The beers were great! The space is small, but it didn't feel crammed and they did a nice job of utilizing the space. read more

The menu is projected onto the wall and is almost invisible in daylight, but even then, it does not provide adequate information about the beer. Sure, it gives the broad style category and ABV, but fails to mention particulars like "This beer contains lactose." Failure to mention that might imprison someone in the bathroom for hours. It's fixable. First, get a visible menu. After that, include descriptions that include health considerations, at least for common sensitivities like gluten, lactose, and citrus. Not everyone will care, but those who do, care a great deal. That said, the atmosphere was not inviting. There were a few other patrons, but everyone was glued to their phones and silent. Our conversation seemed disruptive, like talking in a library. A few regular-height tables and tavern puzzles or board games would encourage a mome convivial atmosphrere. I was between a 3 and 4, but went with 4 because it is a more authentic rating that excludes personal pet peeves and focuses on the product. The pros...1)the beer, and really, that is what a brewery should get the most right, 2) the workers...everyone was super friendly and patient as I was quite indecisive in my choices. The cons...1) as others said, the small space...I could have dealt better, but was just aggravated bc 1 of the 2 tables was taken up by a family of 4...the kids were playing board games and the father was scrolling through his phone. Call me a scrooge, but hanging out with kiddos wasnt the vibe we were hoping for on a Saturday afternoon at a brewery, 2) no flights...my favorite aspect of a brewery is trying all the beers without getting hammered with larger pours. Even though they offer a sample of anything you want, a sip is not the same as a 4 oz pour. Not a huge negative, but enough to keep this from being the perfect 5-star experience to me. I do hope Conclave continues to prosper and eventually is able to expand to a larger facility. If so, we will be back! read more

Went yesterday and had an AMAZING time. 6 beers on tap 2 stouts 2 IPAs a Double IPA and a Saison. You can do 4 oz tasting glass for $2 per or a 13oz glass for $6. Also they offer 32oz and 64oz growler fill options on some of their beers. Only negative is the space is just small and it seems that they are so popular that there was a lot of people in such a small space. Also spoke to owner before arriving and allowed for my fiance with celiacs to bring in wine or cider so that she could enjoy her day. Thought that was awesome and I can't wait to go back. read more

Follow the signs! Easy to get lost but don't give up damn it bc if you do, you'll miss out on a really rad beer experience. 'Twas packed on a Friday. Weaseled my way up to the bar to order a growler Togo. Can be a little confusing trying to figure out who has been helped and who hasn't so just ask and most of the folks will move their beers to the side for you to get an order in. All staff is super welcoming. I got a hello from 4 in uniform and I was only there for 10minutes tops. The boyfriend enjoyed his IPA very much. Woo Hoo first to review! Now that my excitement is out of the way, let me tell you about this great brewery. I should start by stating that this is a part of Jersey that is severely lacking when it comes to breweries. But just because this area is lacking in quantity, doesn't mean that they are lacking in quality. I visited Conclave last week after hiking and am so happy that I did. We're becoming a bit jaded in NJ with so many breweries opening, which feels like a weekly occurrence at this point. I'm not one to say which brewery is better than the other but I can say that Conclave is worth checking out, even if you have to drive a bit to get here. The owners/brewers are super cool guys and they certainly know enough to make some kick ass beer. I sampled all 5 beers on tap during my visit including their Saison, Pale, American Brown, Espresso Milk Stout, and Mexican Morning, with the last one being my absolute favorite. What's not to love about an espresso milk stout with cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa nibs, and chili peppers? I ended up getting a growler of their Milk Stout and my friends loved it. The space is pretty small and their hours are limited but if you can swing it, check these guys out. Your inner beer geek will be glad you did. read more

I have visited twice. Both times was on a Saturday. Conclave is located in a section of an industrial park. Don't be fooled by the exterior. Inside you will find a true micro-brewery. Take the tour. It's required by law and you'll learn about the beer making process from friendly and knowledgeable staff. Once you are done with the tour -- about 10 to 15 minutes -- it's time to step up to the bar. On my first trip I was with my wife's brother and his brother-in-law. The space is small and as the crowd grew it became difficult to find space to stand. There is not seating. These guys are just starting out. It's all about the beer. Despite the crowd the owner made time to answer questions about his vision for the brewery. Definitely a friendly soul who loves making beer and is happy that we were enjoying his creations. We sampled the Farmhouse Saison Ale, Hop Ritual, Equinox Brown Ale, Espresso Milk Stout, and the Mexican Morning. Drink the Mexican Morning last. It's got some kick. On this visit, my favorite was the Espresso Milk Stout. It was creamy and smooth. You can order 4oz, and 12 oz pours or fill a growler to take home. On my second visit, they had brewed up a batch of what they called the "Legend IPA", a west-coast style IPA. I ordered a sample of the Legend IPA and instantly fell in love. I left a growler with I enjoyed that same evening with my wife. It's been over a month and I still can't get that ale out of my head. I'm excited by this brewery and I expect they will continue to make excellent ales. read more

This start up craft brewery is located in an industrial park. No signs from the road, so you have to search for it. It is in the second row. They do not serve food because quirks in NJ laws, small craft brewers can not legally serve food. All this being said, finding them is worth the search, and do not let their location bias your perception before you try their beer... The establishment itself look like a small garage, but they have table set out where you can sit down and enjoy their craft. I stopped in with friends Saturday afternoon after a group cycling outing. The place started to get packed with people immediately when they opened at 1PM. I think it says a lot about the establishment if people forego bars and restaurants, seek out a small brewer who doesn't serve food, taste their beer, and bring growlers home with them. I had their espresso milk stout, one of the best stouts I have had. I brought a 32 ounce growler home with me upon leaving. They make a limited run of Mexican morning stout, which is infused with chilies, cinnamon and coffee. They were only serving 4 ounce samples. The beer is spicy to taste and having a pint of this would be too much IMHO. People around me at their small bar were raving about their IPA - Gravitational Waves. At one point I started wanting to eat, but then I remembered the NJ law. Nothing blocking you from getting your smart phone out, ordering food delivery and having it dropped off ! Came in for my second visit today. For what the brewery lacks in size it easily makes up in flavor: every beer offered is clearly carefully constructed and nails its style. My personal favorites are the Equinox Brown and the Hop Ritual (though all are awesome!). The owners/staff are great and happy to answer any and all questions. If you want to nerd out and indulge your inner beer nerd, here's your chance. Aside from Kane, this might be my favorite in terms of beer quality in New Jersey. I live close to this brewery. It is a small garage operation, but great place to stop by and hang out with friends. You MUST try the Mexican Morning Stout! It tastes almost like a Mexican chocolate bar, and since it is made with habanero peppers, it has quite a hot kick. read more

Great little brewery that is definitely worth the visit. These guys know what they are doing. The Mexican Morning Stout is not to be missed. Visited one weekend, and made the trip back the very next weekend for more of that amazing stout (and to try out Smokey and the Bacon, also yummmmy). I lived in New Jersey for three years. And I was lucky enough to have some amazing New England beers, Good Morning, Heady Topper, and a ton of Treehouse IPAs, to name a few. And I have to be honest here. I've only had one beer from Conclave Brewing. And that Gravitational Waves from a growler my buddy Werner got. And the reason I mention Treehouse was because if you had told me it was one of their great juice bombs, I'd have believed you. I mean it was hoppy and fruity and all around a wonderful beer. That I'm sad I drank two weeks before moving. So New Jersey friends, don't make the same mistake I did, drink this tasty beer, and others I'm sure they brew. read more

Went in on a very hot day and it was hot inside with just a small standing air conditioner in the tap room. There is not a lot of place to sit either. Been here twice. Love this place. Good owners and the make some of the best ipas in nj. The shocking part is there is only 6 reviews. I loved the moki hukka was so good.
