We walked in and were greeted with a Latin flourish. The restaurant is clearly Latin inspired, and very kid friendly as most patrons did have their kids with them. Looking at the menu, things seemed to be priced a lot higher than you would expect for the breakfast, lunch, or brunch. $20 appetizer in the morning is a bit wild to me still, even considering current trends in prices. We unfortunately opted out of apps for this reason. I did surge on an apple cider cinnamon drink though, which was quite nice (though again, $12 for a non-alcoholic drink feels steep). For my main meal I had a meat lovers omelette with toast, and that was also $25. The flavor itself was quite nice and the toast complimented well. There was also an option for home fries instead. It was two eggs and satisfied. I enjoyed my experience, but I still feel that there is better value to be had even in Somerville 's downtown. The food was excellent! We ordered the fresh-squeezed orange juice, red velvet espresso martini, tres leches French toast, and the carne asada omelette with home fries. The only small thing I'd change is that I wish the fresh-squeezed orange juice had been chilled or offered over ice. I didn't ask, though, so I can't really count that against them. The carne asada omelette was delicious--perfectly fluffy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The tres leches French toast had a beautifully crisp, toasted exterior while staying soft and moist in the center. We were lucky enough to be seated immediately, and the staff was friendly and accommodating, even letting us choose where we wanted to sit. The restaurant has a cute atmosphere with tasteful decor, good music, and a comfortable noise level. The restrooms were clean and updated, and parking was easy and conveniently close. Since we visited on a holiday, parking was even free. Overall, it was a wonderful brunch and a great way to start the day. While visiting New Jersey recently I wanted to go somewhere I couldn't go to back home . That's always the goal to try out new places . So upon doing my research I came across this restaurant. Now of course upon reading reviews everyone said to get there early because the line can get long especially on a Saturday and Sunday morning. So we arrived around 8:30 on Saturday and we were seated right away because it was only two of us . The service was excellent we were seated right away . Our waiter came out and gave us the rundown of the menu . They had a promo menu because of the Devil Wears Prada movie . I did get a specialty non alcoholic drink from the menu which was excellent. We ordered the French toast and the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and it came with smoked salmon on sourdough bread . The French toast was so good and moist you didn't even need to add additional syrup . The food was delicious and the portion sizes are perfect . The restaurant is cozy so if you have a big party make reservations. But you won't be disappointed I can't wait to visit Brunch by De Martino again whenever I come back to New Jersey . Those banana walnut pancakes were some of the best pancakes I've ever had! The coffees we all got were also really delicious and not sweet at all which we appreciated. After the last experience, I was determined not to return, but I'm glad I did. The place was quiet, just as it had been before, but this time, the host was kind enough to let us sit at the 4 top since we planned to order several dishes. We did the guac and chips, veggie omelette, bacon jam avocado toast and original pancakes. I've had Brunch by De Martino on my list for a while, and I'm so glad I finally went because it completely surpassed my expectations. The interior is so cute, with a flower bed on the ceiling. The decor and service truly makes it feel like you're at a family member's house--super cozy and welcoming! The food was amazing. For drinks we had the pretty in pink matcha and maple latte, both were delicious! Then we had the Hot Honey Chicken and Waffles; the chicken was juicy yet crispy with so much flavor. This is a must-have dish! We also tried the Dubai Chocolate Pancakes. The rich chocolate perfectly balanced the creaminess of their homemade pistachio butter and cream. I don't know how they do it, but the sweetness was just right and not at all overpowering. Because we couldn't decide, we also ordered the Blueberry Buttermilk Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, which were a refreshing and delicious combination. Finally, we had the Florentino Benedict. It's a great twist on the classic, featuring a unique epazote, walnut, and cotija cheese pesto that paired perfectly with the home fries. I honestly couldn't pick a favorite dish. I am so glad my sister suggested we meet for Brunch at Brunch by De Martino! Our food was phenomenal and it was the perfect intimate atmosphere for us since we haven't seen one another in a while. My family and I have been supporting the Martino's Cuban Restaurant family restaurants for years, going back to the original Martino's from his dad's side (which we truly miss). So coming here carries a bit of nostalgia for us. This concept feels very different from the original. It's definitely a more modern, upscale take. Portions are smaller, prices are higher, and the menu feels more elevated with a mix of Cuban-inspired and American flavors rather than strictly traditional Cuban comfort food. That said, the food is genuinely very good. The Cuban sandwich was easily one of the best we've had in New Jersey. Unlike many places that mostly use ham with a thin layer of pork, this one had thick, flavorful pieces of pork that made it feel much more authentic. A few other favorites: - The tostones with guacamole were a great starter. - Their chocolate latte used to be one of our favorites (sadly it seems to have been replaced by a raspberry chocolate version, which wasn't for us). - The seasonal pumpkin iced latte was excellent. - The strawberry banana waffles were more than enough to share. - The scrambled eggs and thick-cut bacon were fresh and delicious. We spent about $140 for breakfast for a family of four, so it's definitely on the pricier side, but it felt fitting for a special occasion like Mother's Day. A heads-up: reservations are only accepted for parties of six or more, so smaller groups are first come, first served. On Mother's Day, we waited about an hour after arriving at 8:30 AM, but their digital waitlist system made it easy to track our place in line while running errands nearby. Do we miss the old Martino's? Absolutely. The larger portions and casual family feel were special to us. But this restaurant offers something different--more polished, more curated, and still very enjoyable. I was looking for somewhere to get a classic Eggs Benedict after fasting for medical. I found it here and the ratings were good. I arrived and was seated immediately. First thing I was aware of was the harsh loud ambiance and a child screaming at the other end of the restaurant. Secondly, (and usually an automatic NO) is a QR menu. I'm not a fan of scrolling through items I have no interest in and it shows the lack of commitment from the restaurant. 'Why should we invest in menus'. I ordered coffee and eggs Benedict with the brioche bun instead of muffin. Food arrived and was barely warm. Potato hash was ok but was long past prep time and just been keeping warm. The poached egg was perfection. Perhaps I should have just stuck with that. Hollandaise was about a tablespoon on each egg, far from what photos revealed on the yelp site. The Canadian bacon was massive compared to any another I have encountered. It was minimum 1/4" thick and a bit chewy. The bun was excellent as well. About the coffee, it arrived after my food which is a first for me. I'm sure it's easier on their 'bottomless coffee' to serve it late and scalding. Yes, scalding hot coffee and that is after adding cream. The prices were not inline with the service, quality or presentation. So all in all it was just ho hum nothing special. 2.5 stars. We came to Brunch by DeMartino on a Sunday morning around 10am and waited about 40 minutes for a table, which was totally worth it. The vibe was upbeat, and the team kept the line moving smoothly. We started with lattes: matcha, salted caramel, and coconut. All were delicious and thoughtfully made. If you like your drinks on the sweeter side, be sure to ask for sweetener. Food-wise, we shared the guava pancakes and each ordered something different: the carne asada omelette, hash-a-lot with carnitas, and the loxe with salad. I visited Brunch by De Martino on a Monday morning, and surprisingly, it was pretty busy for a weekday. As soon as we walked in, we were seated right away. For starters, I ordered the chicken taquitos. They were nice and crispy, but the chicken was dry and lacked flavor. For my entree, I got the carne asada omelette with sourdough toast and a side of bacon. I loved the amount of bacon they give you, crispy, not too salty, and there's barely any fat on it. The omelette itself was okay, I didn't love it. The skirt steak was in some kind of sauce that was a little oily, and it left an acidic feeling in my stomach with each bite. Which has never happened to me. I personally wouldn't order it again, but I would come back to try a different entree and starter. I also tried the grilled chicken sandwich. It was decent, but nothing special. There were pockets of chicken missing. There could've been more chicken, I was mostly biting into bread, sauce, and cheese. Service was great and the space itself is bright and open. My only real complaint was how close the tables are to each other. At one point, the couple next to us had to shift their table to get out of their booth, and I had to do the same on my side. It made things feel a cramped. Let me just say I can't wait to come back AGAIN! Brunch by De Martino offers an OUTSTANDING brunch. Everything on their menu is absolutely delicious and consistent in each visit I've had. The staff are extremely helpful and kind. Every person that stopped by our table checked on us and seemed so happy to be there. They are BYOB but also offers ones wines by the bottle on their menu. My friends and I did byob with some Prosecco which paired perfectly with a small pitcher of their peach Bellini juice. I ordered the steak and eggs with medium rare steak and over easy eggs. Everything was cooked to perfection and was so tasty. I cleared my entire plate which almost never happens! Everyone at the table also enjoyed their meals very much. We even order an extra entree, a stack of the banana walnut pancakes for the table. Had a Cubano. Flavor was good but the sandwich was a mess. The two sides were different sizes and there was another piece of bread in between, very sloppy. I had to eat it with a knife and fork which was difficult. Very disappointing. My sister had a Cubano but without cheese and hers was manageable to eat like a sandwich. My mom had pancakes which crumbled on fork when you tried to eat them. The texture wasn't like a buttermilk pancake. I don't know if we'll be back. I did like the old Martino's better. read more

We came, we saw, we ate... and I think the seeing may have outdone the eating. Know that your party will have to show up, leave a name, and wait. It was about what we expected (30 minutes), fortunately not too bad outside, because you. will. not. fit. inside De Martino when there is a wait. They pack their small business to the gills. Well, once we got a seat, it was a small table but at least it was our own. Service was what you'd expect with the chaos of a Sunday midday - okay, maybe I wasn't expecting all of Somerville to come out, but that's a sign of love - but not unreasonably slow. We got water, the food took awhile but not excessive. Despite the 90-minute limit, we were there at least 100 minutes by the time I finished my last bite of blueberry pancake and there was no pressure to foot the bill and skedaddle, so I appreciate that the rule isn't hard and fast. And the food? I'm on 4 stars for my blueberry pancakes. A lot of food looks so good there, but biting into it, they were rather grainy. The "ricotta cheese" (really was more like whipped cream with texture and taste) and baked-in blueberries + compote made up for it. My date was a bit less impressed. Overall, 3.5 stars maybe? It's a BYOB place you can bring in birthday cake etc and they will bring it out for you with candles and sing happy birthday. They really make your celebration special. The food is outstanding! We have had the pleasure of dining here several times before. On this occasion, we chose to visit for brunch, forgetting that it was Labor Day, a Monday, in Somerville, when most restaurants close to allow their staff to rest. Happily, the weather was beautiful, and we were able to take a pleasant stroll while we waited, we didn't go far, luckily the 30 minute wait was 15 made. As anticipated, the food was outstanding, with impeccable presentation. The sole drawback is the noisy ambiance, which allows conversations from adjacent and opposite tables to be easily overheard due to the close table arrangement. Unless privacy is not a priority, diners may wish to reconsider eating here. We opted to take half of our meal home, and both of us left feeling delightfully full. read more
