So, we went to Uproot on Saturday night 5/2/26 for the first time. From the door, everything was on point. It just felt like a Saturday night. It is a very nice restaurant; Large, but not overbearing. I could see going here either on date night, or with 2 more couples. Our server Patrick was fantastic from the beginning of the night, straight through to the end. He was friendly, and very efficient. Chef/owner Scott came out from the kitchen to greet us and other patrons, and was gracious to everyone. Onto the food. The Duck Tacos and Mussels were very tasty. I think I might put a call into Chef and have him make me a bottle of that Mussels sauce to take home with me. Then came the crisp Caesar Salad, which kept everything bright. To finish, we had the Black Cod and Duck Confit, both of which were very well balanced and cooked perfectly. Oh, and the Guava-glazed Brussels Sprouts were a perfect side. Next time, I want to try one or two of their desserts. All-in-all, we had a great experience, and the night was a success. Chef, see you soon. The service (Hector) and suggestions by the team of Hector, Bailey and Jayden were on point! The food was really good. I had the adult happy meal with a corn dog and altered ceaser salad with BBQ sauce. BBQ sauce is not on the menu but ask them for it and they will make the delicious sauce for you. The chocolate crunch bar is the best dessert I have had in a long time, the only thing missing from it is whipped cream. I returned here for my first lunch outing. I ordered the steak sandwich that came with a choice of salad or fries. I opted for the Caesar salad. The salad was good, very cheesy and light on the dressing. The sandwich consisted of skirt steak, caramelized onions, gruyere, and chimichurri aioli on a crispy French baguette. This was solid. The medium rare cook on the steak was perfect. The bread was great and a perfect choice for this type of sandwich. I would have liked to seen more chimichurri as there was not enough and the cheese to be melted better. Other than that, it was a satisfying sandwich. read more

A memorable birthday celebration at Uproot. We visited on a Friday evening to celebrate a birthday with close family and friends, even though it was a small group, we came ready to have a good time, and exactly that happened. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for a night out, stylish, warm and buzzing with just the right energy. We kept it simple, a couple pizzas to share, and they did not disappoint. The crust was perfectly crisp with just the right amount of char, with fresh and flavorful toppings. We definitely indulged in several rounds of scotch throughout the evening, their selection of scotch are very impressive. We went to Uproot in Warren with friends. Fantastic evening here. We started with drinks Lychee Lani, Peach cobbler and Chardonnay Evolution all yummy. For apps we got the Brussels sprouts, shrimp dumplings, and buffalo cauliflower all well received. For entrees we ordered the JMM burger, roasted chicken, Tuna poke, and the mussels all great. For dessert we split the home made donuts which were excellent. Service was top notch. Liked the ambiance of the place. In a strip mall but you would never know it inside. Service was excellent. We like to eat in the lounge area for a drink, quick bite and music. The food is consistent, however, the service has been off during our last few visits. There is no longer a server assigned to the lounge - the bartender is doing it all. On one occasion we walked over to the bar after 45 minutes with no food and no one checking on us,to find out our order was never sent to the kitchen. On another occasion, we sat for 30 minutes and no one even checked in with us. The bartenders' priority is clearly people at the bar, as well as drinks for the main dining room. The lounge - if they get a chance they wander in. We found another fine dining local restaurant where a "quick bite" is just that - they have a server tending to the lounge and are attentive. That model works much better, and I hope Uproot goes back to this model, so that a 'quick bite' is no longer over 1 hour. read more

From not really getting a good server experience, to the server, just leaving our water and seltzer on the table for us to self pour, coming by with the broom and leaving it right next to where we're eating. this restaurant needs to really take a look at their servers.. I went here tonight for a work event. The restaurant is located in a convenient location easy to get to, it is beautifully decorated, it is a very large restaurant. We thought we wouldn't Uproot again since it is under new management. Unfortunately, the food is still overpriced and not good. The flavors are off, the food is either overcooked or placed in the over to keep warm while the other plates are being finished. Regardless of the reason, the food is just not good at any price, let alone the prices they are charging. Also, the plating is amateur hour. Not the biggest deal in the world, but if you're going to charge 4-5 star prices, don't plate it like we're eating at a diner. It's a nice vibe for drinks at the bar, but it's a hard pass for dinner. Won't be having dinner there again unless they make some big changes in the kitchen. read more

There is a real olive tree inside the restaurant, how unique is that. Uproot gives a vibe of upscale dining and highly recommend booking the reservation before going. The restaurant's aesthetic is unique and the atmosphere wasn't too loud. Bar area is upbeat, If you like it quieter, opt for the back dining room. Their menu keeps changing as per the season but always have enough options for both vegetarian and meat lovers. We went on a friday evening after happy hours and sat at the bar. So just the steak was $48 for a 10oz. It was 100% not fresh. So chewy and very disappointing. Especially with no sides for that crazy price. Convenient enough to serve few Somerset County towns. Large long restaurant with a main dining room and smaller one. We sat in the main dining room. The tables are roomy and not close to others. You can carry on a conversation at your table not disturbing your neighbor. We were deciding on appetizers not wanting to fill up before the entrees. We ultimately decided on hummus and wings. Hummus was good but a little thick texture. Wings were well done. Pitas were soft and fresh. I loved my salmon however, would prefer a few asparagus sprigs to the pearl onions. Husband ordered short rib ( only 1). It was good we left the wings on the table for him to pick on. My son ordered the prime rib. He loved it and the side of potato. Meats do not come with a side so you have to order one. Desserts were the doughnuts with Caramel cream. It was so delicious. Decadent chocolate cake was very fresh. The desserts were plentiful. More plentiful than the meat entrees. Drinks were outstanding. We ordered Blue Lagoon which I recommend. The gin and tonic the waiter poured in the gin at the table. Overall the place is above average. Food was very good. Portions of meat entrees were a little small. Will return to try the more casual dining and possibly the pizzas. Uproot is both our local watering hole and a spot we go to if we want to have an easy couples dinner out. Baylee typically takes care of us and makes us feel like VIP's. 2 thumbs up and 5 stars. It isn't cheap but it's worth it for an upscale tavern. read more

Just left from Happy Hour. Was told by bartender that the HH advertised Pinot Grigio isn't available, so we had to pay double the advertised price!! Take the signs away, if it's not available-or honor the posted price. We ordered the quac & chips...I asked for 3 more chips to finish quac (not an additional serving) was told I had to be charged an additional price for 3 chips. The salad was especially tasty with a fresh citrus kick. Loved it. She had the Broken Burrata Pizza, which was ok. I had a special, Colorado Lamb, which also was ok. Small portion, but cooked to perfection. It came with red and white beets, which were the best part. The service was way better than average. Nice friendly staff. Kept the water glasses filled. Pace of food was good. And they got me a fresh beer before my entre hit the table, which is worth a whole star to me. Nice modern atmosphere. Cool place. The bar looks cool. We went to Uproot back in May of 2022. We needed a place for lunch, and this spot looked like a great one. My husband couldn't resist a Moscow Mule... So he ordered their Uproot Mule. It was refreshing on a warm day. For food, we decided to order a few appetizers, and one main dish to share. This way, we could taste more dishes. We ordered Buffalo Cauliflower, Truffle Fries, Fried Brussels Sprouts, and Thai Noodles. Buffalo Cauliflower pieces were cooked just right, with perfect spiciness. Still a bit crisp so not too soft nor mushy. The truffle fries were great! The sauce that came with it was green, maybe pesto? Whatever it was, it was really Nice! Fried Brussels Sprouts had the perfect texture, not too hard nor soft. Loved the charred parts! Thai Noodles were the only disappointing item. The noodle were overcooked, but packed flavor with a tiny kick to it. Overall, it was just a-ok. Since we had a nice lunch, we had to get dessert and coffee! We ordered Cappuccino, which was nice and foamy! For dessert, we ordered Uproot's Famous Doughnuts. These doughnuts are served with mocha pot de creme, and warm salted caramel. The doughnuts came out hot with hot caramel, so amazing! The doughnuts were soft and doughy yet light. Excellent dessert! The staffs were friendly, and service was good and efficient. Our water was always filled. We were happy with our visit. If we were back in the area again, we would definitely go back again for more! read more

This is my second review of Uproot (the first was a higher rating), as this was take out. First the staff, especially the hostess and servers are wonderful. We simply ordered two sandwiches and fries and a pizza. The fries are always good. The classic pizza was great yet over-priced for the size. My eggplant sandwich was a bit overdone but acceptable. The salads were fresh. My wife's grilled chicken sandwich was beyond dry and rubbery. She called up, and the manager was busy and said he'd call back, he never did. As regular customers, we will be going to Uproot less and dining at Jessica's restaurant more as the cost is about the same, and they never let us down. Still, Uproot is usually consistent, just not for us. Disappointed. Updated: The manager called three days later and told us if we came in to eat, to call for him. Didn't find that satisfactory. And will not be doing takeout anymore. read more

We had made reservations but reached earlier , yet were seated immediately . They make some crafty cocktails and wine selection is good too. For food choices we picked Salmon Aguachile - soft buttery edgy salmon ... lip smacking Good.. Superb! Last night's dinner at UPROOT was a delicious treat and the place was busy, with a happy Friday night crowd! The cod I ate was so light and delicate I didn't want it to end! The pasta veggie bowl was wonderful as was the roast chicken just delicious! the service was terrific and ever present and the ambiance pretty cool. There's an enormous olive "tree" in the center of the atrium which perfectly fills the space and creates an outdoor dining experience while remaining inside. One note, for this level of delicious dining they should be tossing their own Ceasar salads rather than bringing a dressing on the side. read more

Wow! Can't believe I've lived here for so many years and have never tried Uproot. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful -- perfect environment for girls night, dinner with friends, date night or family dinner. Various table sizes and seating types. Stunning tree inside of the restaurant along with other beautiful design elements and comfy dining chairs made this place so easy to love! Made same day reservation for a Friday dinner at 8:00 with a friend. Service was excellent -- our server greeted us promptly and offered many recommendations throughout the evening. Very attentive and engaged with us in conversation. Really enjoyed the menu, diversity in cuisine options and diversity in price points, as well as the unique culinary influences integrated into the dishes (some Dominican and other influences). Food (and drinks) were great. Bao buns and arancini were incredible. Hummus was delicious and fresh tasting. Burrata pizza was delicious and aromatic -- a lot of arrugula though. My friend got the winter mule which she didn't love -- said it tasted like there was an ingredient that reminded her of a cleaning agent (lol). I enjoyed my drink from the specials menu -- Guave Nice Time (?) -- didn't taste much of the mezcal though. Lots of fun cocktail recipes and liquors on the menu, as well as unique wine selection. Recently had dinner at Uproot. The decor and decorative lit tree in center of restaurant created a lovely touch. Our Server was knowledgeable and pleasant and recommended a couple of special offerings that evening. We chose the scallop wellington for an appetizer and it was phenomenal! my friend & i had a 6:30 reservation & they sat us in the back room (which i didn't even know existed until i went back there). very cool spot with a live tree in the middle as well as eclectic vibes and a lot of space. we ordered the hummus app to share, she ordered the winter sacchetti, and i ordered the vegan take on the linguine. it was great that the kitchen was able to make me a vegan entree, however, it would have been better if they at least had one vegan option on the menu outside the salads and some apps. once we finished dinner we sat at the bar for another drink - they have a great cocktail menu. its a great night to spend for dinner or if you just want to sit at the bar for a drink! read more
