CASH ONLY! Just thought I would throw that out there (but they have an ATM inside so its ok) ..I cant say enough about this place and how good it is! Years and years ago when they first opened I remember that they seemed expensive and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant so I never went back, even though I grew up and lived less than three miles from them my whole life... Then I decided to try em again a couple years ago after hearing how so many people love this place... NOW I LOVE THIS PLACE TOO!! The salad and soups are incredible, breads before the meal are tastey and the food is phenominal! We love going for lunch throughout the year and doing Christmas Eve dinner where they have 3 special items (duck, ham hock, and goose).

Delicious pierogis. - Plate of dumplings topped with caramelized onions, accompanied by shredded cabbage and vegetable garnishes, served on a white plate.

Went to Sebastian's for a pre Christmas dinner with a couple of friends. The place was very festively decorated with lots of Christmas lights, a beautiful Christmas tree and lots of beer steins, dolls and other knick-knacks. You will even find this type of decor in the bathroom! Service was quick, accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed pierogis, German house salad and chicken schnitzel with spaetzle. The chicken was huge! It was probably enough to feed the three of us. Bring cash because it's cash only - although they do have an ATM but you will pay a fee! But there's a Wawa not too far up the road if you want to avoid the fee. It's also byob.

We catered our Christmas dinner with Sebastian's Schnitzelhaus! We saved so much time, effort, and stress. Added so much more family time. We had 2 roast ducks, potato pancakes, mashed potatoes, greens beens, deviled eggs, and an apple strudel. It was supposed to feed six people, but could have easily fed eight. All for $245! They also had other options. We were so happy and we'll definitely do it again

We visited on Sunday for lunch with a party of two after visiting the nearby cemetery and it was a very nice experience. We arrived and were seated right away at a spacious table. The interior is quite unique, with lots of festive decorations. We started with Perogi and the Gulaschsuppe soup as appetizers, they were well prepared and tasty. We then went with Jaeger Schnitzel, the Grilled Wurst Platter, and a side of Spaetzle. Everything was outstanding with huge portions. The service was excellent, the waiter was friendly, prompt, and professional. Overall, the best German place in NJ.

This is an EXPERIENCE!!! I literally felt like I was in Germany and Disney all at once lol. The people there are SO very friendly and literally welcome you with open arms. The food was delicious and servings are very generous. My fiance and I shared the shnitzel combo and had a ton of leftovers to take home. 10/10 would recommend, will absolutely be back again!!! Their bread basket was to die for with the garlic/onion rye OMG

If you're feeling like eating some German food, especially schnitzel, well this place is for you. When you walk inside you'll feel like you were transported to Germany and entering one of their quaint, traditional restaurants. Beautifully decorated inside with dolls, beer steins, lights and all kinds of pictures and German paraphernalia, so nice. The service is also nice and attentive. We were immediately seated by one of the servers who was not only friendly but dressed in a beautiful German style dress. Well I came with schnitzel in mind and schnitzel is what I got. But before I had that we started off with some Gulaschuppe which is a hearty, rich beef soup, filled with meat and so flavorful and delicious. This could have been a meal in itself. Now we had to try the Potato Pancakes because I love me some potato pancakes, especially authentic German style potato pancakes. They didn't disappoint, although a little thicker than I'm used to but delicious all the same. Well this could have been enough quite frankly but we didn't even get to our main courses. Of course now I got my Schnitzel and it was a huge schnitzel. The pork was pounded thin and fried perfectly and when I couldn't decide what gravy should accompany my schnitzel, our waiter was nice enough to let me have a little of both in separate bowls. Both were good, one was a mushroom gravy while the other was a creamy white gravy. My schnitzel was also accompanied by a serving of warm German potato salad made with vinegar, not only authentic but delicious too. My wife went with the Stuffed Cabbage and served with creamy mashed potatoes. She loved it, big cabbage stuffed with savory beef, it was excellent. Now across from our table was a dessert case filled with delicious looking cakes, pies and pastries and they looked amazing but we just didn't have any more room. Next time and this place was so good, there will definitely be a next time.

Hiker our server was fabulous. Very attentive and all my questions were answered. I've never had schnitzel so I was very curious. The interior was very different. Hummels, beer steins, and dolls line the walls. And they are clean, no visible dust. Tells you a lot about the place where food is prepared. We were ordering from the Lunch Specials menu. And this place is a BYOB, so the drinks we brought were nice ice cold beers. Compliments to me lol. Wife had a salad which had beets, carrots, cabbage, and some other stuff that she enjoyed & it is included on the lunch special menu with her lunch order. I order the #8 SCHWEINE SCHNITZEL (Breaded Pork) with German Potato Salad. This potato salad was like nothing I've ever had. I actually thought it was mashed potatoes when it arrived. The Gulaschsuppe - (Hungarian Stew) came alone & first ...good thing..it was out of this world...$2 extra but wow well worth it.. nice portion. I had to google it before I ordered...not disappointed) I used most of my bread (also delicious) cleaning out the bowl. They brought more bread too. Butter was great! And I finished the bread with my gravy! Not a drop left. My wife ordered the #7 BREADED & PAN FRIED CHICKEN SCHNITZEL (Boneless Breast) with French Fries. She swapped out the French fries for the potato salad. The food here was great and so was the atmosphere & service. It's just n my list of places I need to revisit! Enjoy yourself and bring your appetite.

Rustic German atmosphere! Sebastian's is the place for authentic German cuisine. I had the Schweinshaxe pork shank special! Delicious but make sure you call ahead for the special! It goes fast! We greeted by friendly hosts who were full of energy! Our server was great! This hidden gem is worth the visit!

Legit German kitchen with overstuffed gitch dining room that felt like a cross between a Teutonic antique shop and schnitzel emporium with a side of wurst. My Chicken Schnitzel lunch came with fries and management brought over a stainless gravy boat full of Rahm brown sauce (delicious w heavy cream and white wine) for dipping both the flattened breaded fried chicken and the frenchies. The Potato Soup (w carrot, celery and bits of ham) was a strong appetizer, although it may have been slightly over-salted. People around me were regulars who knew what they loved; ordering desserts and soups to go after manging down large lunch platters where they sat. Owners/chefs out and about chatting with customers obviously proud of what they had created; building a little piece of Deutchland here in Burlington County, NJ, right outside Fort Dix. I enjoyed the experience and attention. Plenty to look at on the walls and shelves, even a nice Hummel collection in the hall to the restrooms. Aside from the salt, lack of liquor license and the impression that this traditional schnitzelhaus might be even better if they broadened the cuisine to include more Central European dishes from beyond the Rhine.

I decided to try it after reading the good reviews. I was honestly shocked when we walked in and they asked if we had a reservation. They sat us after some discussion. I highly recommend reservations.....at least on the weekend. Who knew?? Apparently there is a pork shank special on Fridays and we were able to get one of those. I ordered the Polish platter - stuffed cabbage, spatzel, and pierogis. I chose the red cabbage for the side. I'm Polish and I have never made such tender, juicy cabbage rolls. The tomato creme sauce was out of this world. I could eat a bowl of spatzel or pasta in that sauce. The pierogis were ok. The filling was very smooth. The dough was light. I'm not sure if they're homemade. They were so uniform. Definitely didn't look like mine but I'm a home cook so never perfection lol. The red cabbage wasn't bad. The spice was a little overpowering. I actually prefer it cold so I took the leftovers home. I need to talk about the pork shank. It was pull off the bone deliciousness. And I was just sneaking bites. We took a lot home. The entrees come with soup or salad. The salad was delicious. It's pickle based. Pickled vegetables over lettuce. The vinegar is not overwhelming. I don't know how to review the decor. It's a lot of knickknacks but it set the mood for the experience. I recommend going with an open mind. The service was great. Super friendly. A little cheeky but I appreciated the hospitality.

A plate with a fried breaded cutlet and a sausage slice is on a table at a restaurant, with a glass of water, a flower vase, and a photo nearby.

It was nice on the inside. Very in - character. Love all the decorations. The tables have a collage of pictures with add to the beauty. The waiters and waitresses were nice and so was the owner. But I think he was hitting on Carol. The food was excellent. The potato pancakes and the pierogis and the bratwurst were stellar. The main dish with the eggs was just as good. We got to celebrate 2 very special birthdays and they were sure to accommodate. I will definitely be back soon

    A great night eating outside!

The food here is insanely fresh as was our daily interpretation involving copious use of root vegetables. In a Woodstock mood, I went for a mushroom motif inclusive of a mushroom onion soup and mushroom infused homemade cavatelli. The soup sampling consisted of three very tiny cups that were sort of like an espresso size cup. The salad was a very small portion. They said that the portion sizes were not smaller because of the $65 price fix option. If you ordered the salads à la carte they arranged from $19-$22 I believe. Had I did the à la cart and received that portion for that much money I would be disappointed to say the least; my wife and I often share a salad before entrées and generally speaking they are big enough to share but their portion wasn't enough for me alone. Presentation was beautiful and service was great, as well as the ambience, and we have been there several times. We are raying a 3 because of the positives, but I did consider making it a 2. I hope the restaurant takes note and addresses the piints I made. Note that the entrée portions were good.

The room itself was lovely, still dressed up for the holidays like a house that refuses to admit the season has moved on. It was pleasant to sit there and feel briefly insulated from the outside world, which was surely still doing whatever it does to people who skip lunch. I ordered the Wild Mushroom Risotto. It was delicious, earthy and comforting, the sort of dish that suggests someone in the kitchen cares. The portion, however, was modest for the price, leaving me fed but contemplative. My companions ordered a Caesar salad with salmon and a wedge salad with chicken, and both appeared content, which is often the highest praise one can expect at midday. With tip, the bill came to about one hundred dollars for three people at lunch, which felt a bit steep for what landed on the table. There is no crime in that, but it does linger in the mind afterward. So here we are. A good meal, a kind and overworked server, a pleasant room, and food that was enjoyable but not generous. My companion ordered a cosmopolitan that was essentially undrinkable--extremely strong and not well balanced. We later learned the bartender is new, so hopefully that improves with experience. The wings were also served cold, and the Jammin' burger came out without the bacon jam that's supposed to be a key part of the dish. The restaurant itself is also very tight quarters. If you prefer more personal space or feel more comfortable in places where it's easy to move around or exit quickly, this may not be the best spot for you. Overall: The staff was very attentive and clearly tried to make things right after several mistakes occurred. They comped our soda, appetizer, and dessert, which we appreciated. However, given the number of issues during one visit, I'm not sure we'd return.
