Went on a Saturday morning and it was crowded. The wait time wasn't to bad and it did get quit loud from all the people . Parking is plenty and the food was quite good. They had Gluten Free options which was a plus. I ordered a breakfast sandwich in an English muffin. And some cottage cheese. I know, kinda boring but I'm leaning out. Let's start with the positives. This is an adorable little roadside diner with a nostalgic, classic feel. I've wanted to stop here for years, and since I was driving my daughter home, it was the perfect opportunity. I believe our server's name was Teresa. From the beginning, she didn't seem very engaged or in good spirits. My daughters are both former restaurant servers, so we understand how demanding the job can be and always try to be patient and understanding. We started with coffee, and my daughters both ordered the diner's most popular breakfast sandwich (#1 on the menu). I ordered the lunch special: open-faced tuna, which included a cup of soup. I chose the cream of zucchini, and it arrived quickly and was delicious. After waiting more than 30 minutes for our meals, our server came over and apologized, explaining that the kitchen had mistaken the "#1" breakfast sandwiches for "#4s." While I appreciated the apology, nothing was offered to acknowledge the delay. When the food finally arrived, my daughters enjoyed their meals. Unfortunately, my order was served as a tuna melt rather than the cold open-faced tuna I had anticipated . The menu description mentioned cheese, but it was not described as a tuna melt. I personally don't enjoy hot tuna, so while I ate some of it, I didn't finish my meal. The coleslaw on the side was also very bland and could have used more seasoning or tang. After the sandwich mix-up, it seemed like our server avoided our table. After waiting several minutes, I asked for the check and dessert. She also seemed unaware that my lunch special included dessert. We took the rice pudding to go, and it was excellent. I truly wanted to love this experience because the diner has so much charm. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. Our bill was approximately $80 for two breakfast sandwiches with home fries, one tuna lunch special, an order of bacon, and three coffees. Mistakes happen, but I felt there was a missed opportunity to recover the experience. Even a small gesture--removing the coffees, offering a dessert, or another courtesy--would have gone a long way toward making us feel like our time and patience were valued. read more

Great diner to stop in if you in the Robbinsville Area. Cash only, but they have a lot of gluten free options including French Toast. Other FYI - everything is getting pricey nowadays with inflation and this place definitely isn't cheap, but they have a lot of options to choose from on their menu and I remember while I was eating here I wish that it was closer to where I lived as we do not have a lot of diners that cater to the gluten free community near me in PA. Visited Daphne's Diner for breakfast while visiting the area. It's a small old school diner. They have signs that say CASH ONLY, but i think they take credit cards now, though they do still have an ATM. It was pretty busy at 11am on a Sunday. We had to wait for a table. The staff is friendly and quick. I ordered the tater tot casserole and a cold brew. My wife got an egg platter with sausage and fries. Waitress said everything, including the cold brew was made from scratch, in house. I was surprised because most of the time i get "cold brew" at a diner, it's just old hot coffee on ice. This was legit cold brew and it was really good. The tater tot casserole was heavy with cheese, sausage, and bacon, but the bell pepper brightened the dish up nicely. Prices were pretty cheap, but it could just be cheaper overall in central NJ than northern NJ. read more

Had the most interesting sandwich here that made this diner stand out. inside of this pumpernickel bread perfectly toasted and buttered was a perfectly cooked egg with thick layers of fresh basil, fig jam, turkey bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, tomatoes and fresh blueberries. Daphne's is a small restaurant off of 130S. I stopped here on a Saturday morning around 10:30, and we were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. The space was very limited but they did their best to accommodate us. My server was a doll, very attentive , super positive and energetic she made my dining experience great. The kids had chocolate chip pancakes which my son loved and my niece had silver dollar pancakes. I had the lobster Benedict special with the quinoa hash, the Benedict's were ok I didn't taste the lobster but I saw the pieces. The hash was also ok I guess by the description I imagined it would taste different, they were under seasoned and the potatoes were plain. My mother ordered lemon blueberry and goat cheese pancakes which sound amazing but were also unimpressive. My brother ordered the skillet which came with tator tots sausage eggs and scallions. It was ok but was missing a sauce or something. Would I wait in line to eat here probably not but for a quick breakfast and good service I would return. read more

If you want delicious food served by incredible people, then this is a great place to swing by. I was driving from Virginia to New York and this was a halfway point off highway. I chatted with a lovely women behind the bar who kept my coffee hot at all times. The meal I had was tasty and the grilled corn muffin to finish it off was great. Although the diner was small, there was a lot of parking available. I stopped by Daphne's Diner for breakfast on a Wednesday morning around 11 am. The diner had no wait time but had a solid breakfast crowd. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by the staff and directed to a table. The diner appeared well-maintained and very clean. I enjoyed the diner's vintage ambiance. The diner was well-decorated, which created a very friendly atmosphere. The menu had a huge selection of many different breakfast and lunch food options. I ended up ordering the Katelyn's Breakfast combo. This combo came with two pancakes, two eggs, two pieces of bacon, and two pieces of sausage. The price for all of this food was very reasonable and only ended up being around 13 dollars plus gratuity. The food came out very fast and everything was cooked perfectly. My food tasted delicious. Overall, I had a great experience at Daphne's Diner. The service was fast, our server was very attentive, prices were very reasonable, and all our food came out great. My brother and I visited Daphne's on 3/20 at 9:30 am. Located by a busy road, parking was a little small but was not too busy when we arrived. We were immediately greeted by Serena who seated us right away and provided us with amazing coffee on the house. She was incredibly friendly and kept checking in on us and refilling our coffee. Daphne's was soundtracked by a classic rock playlist and some 80s jams. The seating wasn't enormous but it was plenty and it was not busy at all when we went. I ordered a buffalo chicken tender salad and was not disappointed at all. Our food came out in 12 minutes and I love how inviting the atmosphere was. The interior seemed to retain the old diner aesthetic with a lot of green decor to match the saint patty's day feel. Some of the tables had the old vintage diner decor - red and white color scheme reminiscent of the 50s. The locals seemed to be frequent visitors and there is something about Daphne's that brings such a familial feel. The smell of coffee, and the lively chatter brought a hint of nostalgia - almost like I was at grandma's house. I watched as the customers engaged in lively conversation with the waitresses and even told them that they would be back next week. There is a gluten free menu and tons of specials and menu options. The menu does run a little pricey but I am totally satisfied with how everything turned out. One thing to mention is I do think Daphne's is cash only so be prepared or use the atm in the diner. So this has been my go to place for breakfast and lunch and an early dinner. I love this place in all its chaos and noise. The food is still delicious and fresh. Awesome breakfast and lunch specials for a reasonable price. This quirky diner is definitely worth a few or more checkins. From delicious burgers to eggs benny to pastas and chicken wings and amazing salads. Epic home made soups. My go to and fave are their lamb burgers on a brioche roll with a nice list of choices for sides, instead of french fries. Nice change of pace. I'm a soup person..so every time I go I try one of their soups. Havent had a bad one yet..truthfully. today I had their seafood bisque better than some of those high priced restaurants. Chunks literally of seafood, nice cream base not salty. Delish! Service is sporadic and chaotic as per normal, but have patience food gets delivered piping hot and quick. So if you're traveling down rt. 130 stop in for a quick breakfast or lunch you wotn be disappointed but hurry they close sadly at 3pm. read more

I might go back at some point, and hopefully will be able to upgrade the stars. A good friend and I met at Daphne's last week, and we lucked out with a 65+ degree day in December, and thanks to Omicron, we called ahead to see if there was outdoor seating. The person who answered the phone said yes. When we arrived, the waitstaff bickered among itself to find out who told us we could dine outside; the offending party finally outed herself, and said, "Well, they just asked if there was outside seating. And there is!" Seating, but no service, then? They agreed to serve us out-of-doors, but our reluctant waitress told us there were no placemats or tablecloths, so if we wanted to stay outside, we'd have to deal with the naked table, which was covered in adhesive tape scars and various other dings. Not the end of the world. But not exactly gracious. Be warned, however: the lack of table linens isn't the biggest issue. The outdoor seating at Daphne's is an unfinished, functional concrete slab stoop mere feet away from Rt. 130 southbound. It's a wee bit of a step up from the bus stop, at least this time of year. But it was fine. Besides, no one inside was masked. No one. At all. My friend ordered the cheeseburger omelette, and I had a combo breakfast with eggs and pancakes and some sausage. Pros: there's a nice selection of toast, made with what appears to be a high-quality bread. Sometimes sausage is a gamble, but this was the good stuff. Cons: my friend said the omelette was so-so, and she left half of it. My pancakes had a nice flavor, but they were tough and a little chewy. Also, huge con, though we were warned in advance: cash only. I don't understand that mindset. I suspect they'd be much busier if they allowed other forms of payment. Our waitress was a matter-of-fact old school Jersey diner gal, and I liked her, but I know more sensitive souls who'd be put off by her brusk manner. She was attentive and helpful early on, but it became clear she really didn't want to come outside again, so she gave us the bill immediately after setting our meals before us. She went inside and we didn't see her again. That too, was fine. My friend and I hadn't seen each other in more than a year (thanks, Covid!) so we had some catching up to do. We did so, over the course of the next hour, amid our dirty dishes and that half-eaten omelette - no one came out to bus the table or to refill our bevies. After a spell, I went in to pay, and sat back down to finish our chat - it could be a long time before we see each other again. A different waitress followed me out, and asked us if we had paid. It's a small diner and she was standing nearby when I handed over our payment. Strange. So, in a nutshell, based on my meal alone, I'd give Daphne's another try, inside, once the plague lifts. But due to the service issues, I won't be in a rush to head back over there. read more

Daphne's is a nice place to meet up with some friends for Sunday brunch, as we recently did. It's very small and cozy inside, so for our party of 5 we had to wait a little bit (they don't have tables to accommodate 5 or more) Daphne's offers gluten free bagels, muffins and bread, which was a nice surprise since two of my friends actually have gluten allergies. The menu selection is quite vast and offers many creative and unique options for breakfast and brunch. I found the prices on the specials menu a bit high at $12+ for speciality omelets. I ordered the Homemade Crepes with custard and fruit. The fruit was fresh, but I was a little disappointed in the crepes, because they came out cold as did my friends spinach omelette. I'm not a coffee drinker, but the rest of the table commented on how good the coffee was; rare for a diner. Service was efficient, but not particularly friendly. I've been back here a few times since my initial visit, and while my experiences have been pretty good, they haven't been 5 star worthy. The service often feels a little negligent (and the servers can be kind of rude!) and most of the food I've gotten has been tasty but not exceptionally so.
