the roast chicken only in Tuesday omg yummy

What a great hole in the wall place, discovered completely by accident and have been going there for a few years now. The owners are nice and pleasant. My favorite spot to get some casado con pollo or pinto steak. The food always taste fresh and delicious and the owners knows our order when we sit down. Nice and quaint little family run place. You must go on Tuesday to try the roasted chicken omg it's soooo delicious! yummy! All in all it's a win win for me and my bestie! We love relaxing there and enjoying a good conversation over lunch!

South Warren Street in Trenton is making an effort to get its act together. It has always had the big trees and 19th Century architecture, but until the last few years, the storefronts were often empty or lacking in attractiveness. Things have changed for the better, and it is now possible to walk down Warren and find several nice places to have a meal, drink, or even shop. Sunrise Luncheonette is one of those urban pioneers. It is a small shop with 7 or eight stools at the lunch counter, and about the same number of tables. Décor is rather Spartan, but the management makes a real effort to make you feel welcome when walking in for breakfast before 8, while the surrounding state government drivers are yet to open. I sat at the counter and watched as well known customers chatted with the counterman in friendly tones, swapping stories and jokes. Coffee was served promptly, and was about average. My Sausage, Egg and Cheese Sandwich on a Roll was also decent and tasty. The convenience of location cannot be beat. I enjoyed being able to park on the street without using a meter until 9 am, having a pleasant breakfast only 5 minutes from court, and getting out for under $6. Trenton is actually showing some gritty charm early in the morning, and I enjoyed being part of the wake up. Sunrise's breakfasts should not be compared to suburban style diners where excess is the name of the game. No. This is a cityscape locale, where the clientele tells a different story than heard out there. Life is rougher downtown, and Sunrise Luncheonette reflects that reality. If you get off on the difference, this can be a nice way to start the day.

Think of it as a good diner that's very inexpensive. Place is spotless. Food is very good and freshly prepared.

Great place, great variety. Service is a bit slow but still worthy. Coffee is always fresh and the owner is very friendly.

Service was pretty basic. I don't know that it was bad but it certainly wasn't extraordinary. My Mom and Aunt both got salads. I got a hot dog plate and a side salad. My Aunt enjoyed her large house salad. My Mom really didn't like her Greek salad. I ended up eating most of it. They were VERY generous with the feta. Maybe too generous. I thought it was fine. I enjoyed my side salad. The hot dog was interesting. As described on the menu, it is two hot dogs, cut in half lengthwise, then griddled, then put on a hoagie roll. It was unusual. Not bad, just different. The hoagie roll was a bit chewier than a standard hot dog bun. The sauerkraut was good. I had asked for mustard too and they brough it on the side. Overall, an OK experience. I don't know that we'll be back if we are in the area again.

Highly recommend for solo diners- sports tv at long counter; small groups or large gatherings.

So when I used to work in L'ville and could get Route 1 Diner delivered through Uber Eats it was a treat indeed. I often ordered the turkey Reuben, omelettes, BLTs, fish sandos, and quesadillas. All good but the actual standout here is the STEAK FRIES! They are fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. They're the best steak fries by far and possibly a top 3 restaurant fry of all time for me. Even by delivery they arrive crisp. I've since left that job near the diner but when I find myself in the area I can't help but stop in to get the fries. I was actually hesitant to do so at first - kinda like lifting the curtain back on Oz. But there's no trickery here - the waitstaff is friendly in person, the food is hot and fresh, and incredibly priced. This diner is such a gem and I am admittedly jealous of people who live nearby. Def stop in - well worth the trip. Enjoy my pics!

I just ordered a short stack and side of bacon and somehow they took over 30 minutes despite things being quiet. (It was at around 10pm.) This review is for the day event. There is also an after party that looked like a good time. Something I immediately noticed up arrival was the level of security provided at the event throughout the day. There was a police and security staff presence. You are throughly scanned with a metal detector to go inside or to the outdoor space. Your purse is open and looked through. Several individuals in line had pat downs. The security was very thorough and still friendly. A lot of effort goes into making this feel like safe space and I really appreciate that. The block party was happening this year! A DJ provided some great music throughout the day. Outside in State Street there were some amazing street vendors selling clothing, jewelry, and make up. Terri's tshirts had the most amazing shirts. Every item is hand made and unique. Most of his tshirts also had matching tie dye patterns on the front and back. I will definitely shop with him again. After shopping we headed inside and ordered some food. There is also a smoothie bar on the left side. You can get your food and drink medicated or non medicated. It's an extra $10 to get an item medicated with 300g of thc. You could not order off the regular menu for this event. Instead there was a whiteboard of specials to help with speeding up service. The food was amazing! Food took longer than expected but we didn't mind as we were enjoying the party. It was disappointing for two of us to have our food brought out after everyone else had finished eatting and bagged up. We had to remind the cashier twice we were missing food. It was 20-30 minutes after everyone else's food was served that the last meals arrived. Definitely an area of improvement for next year. After lunch we moved to the back lounge area and there were more vendors, but these were all cannabis products. The prices were insanely low. The variety of items to pick from was fun to check out. The gentleman selling the infused beverages was giving out free samples. Several vendors had samples as well but he and his product were most memorable. There back outdoor lounge had some very comfy looking outdoor furniture and a stage for performances. Next time I'd my bring my food there to eat. I always love the Street style art that's all over the facility. The decor is the best. They even decked out their ATM. If you are into cannabis this is really a cool spot to visit, especially on 4/20.

It only occurred to me recently that I'd never said a proper thank-you. That's shameful. That's like borrowing your neighbor's snowblower all winter and forgetting to nod at them come spring. So here it is: thank you, Broad Street Diner. This is the review I should've written long ago. Four stars. Not five. Let's not go nuts. Perfection is the business of angels, and diners are run by people: gruff, charming, overworked, underpaid people who know the power of a hot turkey sandwich in a cold world. And God bless them for it. The daily specials are the real poem here. You know how people used to say, "You can't beat the value"? They stopped saying it because there's no value left in anything. But then Broad Street Diner waltzes in, swinging a Cajun meatloaf platter like a peace treaty, and suddenly I'm eating like it's 1993 again. The economy may be a flaming zeppelin plummeting into the sea, but somehow these folks figured out how to serve a full dinner: entree, soup, salad, dessert, the whole shebang, for less than the cost of a movie ticket and a bottle of water. I've had their fried clams, their fish and chips, their crab cakes, and each time I think, "Yes. This is civilization." Is it fancy? Hell no. But it's honest. It's generous. It's warm in all the places the news is cold. Do yourself a favor: stop pretending you're above diners. You're not. None of us are. We're all just scrambled eggs in the cosmic skillet. Broad Street Diner gets that.
