A ubiquitous New Jersey Italian restaurant from food to decor. Calamari with olives appetizer was good but a bit too much oil. Rice balls were ok but not the kind I am used to. Complimentary bread and salad were good. We all more or less enjoyed our entrees but found them a bit too heavy with their respective sauces. Portions were generous and reasonably priced. Service was friendly but she was clearly a bit overwhelmed with the busy night. I will remember this restaurant the most for the oddest moment in my 40+ years of dining out. We had a reservation and our full party was there. However, one of us had to use the restroom upon arrival and the hostess would not seat us until he was present. He was in the bathroom! Very odd. We came after a busy day an hour before closing and were all impressed with the food. I loved the chicken and farfalle vodka sauce. Super flavorful and huge portions (came with a side salad too). My friend loved her chicken wrap too, but one thing she would have changed was less dressing or dressing on the side (it was a little messy). The eggplant parm was not my friend's favorite, she said it had an off taste to it she couldn't place. Delicious & Worth the Wait We went on a Tuesday night for an office dinner. Parking was pretty hectic, but I was able to squeeze into a spot near the door. Supposedly there's a nearby church where you can park. Once inside, the ambiance is very warm and welcoming. Staff is very friendly and personable. We waited a long time for our food, but when it arrived it was AMAZING! I think if you go with people who enjoy chatting, you will not be disappointed by the wait time. My friend and I were excited to eat here when we saw the ratings and menu. Sadly it wasn't as good as I expected. There were only two servers who were dealing with a bunch of people and so we had to wait for everything. The soup was not nice at all but the rest of the food was okay, but the flies ruined our time there. My husband and I love this restaurant because not only is the food is delicious and the decor adorable, but this place offers both comfort and class. The owner once gave me a free soup without reason: I was picking up a to-go order, and, kindly, he added the soup as a holiday gift. Adding to the personal appeal, La Piazza's walls look like the outside of Italian villas with realistic three-dimensional roofing--so cute. Meanwhile, the homemade soups are always amazing, and we love to order a spicy calamari dish that is no longer on the menu (Yes, they kindly accommodate this request). The chicken Luca is my favorite entree; only once was the crab fishy, as it is normally of good quality. I hate writing a negative review , but unfortunately this isn't the first encounter I have had with La Piazza's staff giving me a negative experience. I ordered online mainly because I have ordered over the phone in the past and they can never seem to get an order correct. So I figured when it is spelled out for you online what could go wrong? When ordering online you are able to choose a side dish and broccoli is an option. We chose broccoli for our side and when I went to pick up the order they had given us chips so I told them it was a mistake we requested broccoli. The man at the front desk wearing a green shirt proceeded to scold me and say no you chose broccoli in the wraps see the ticket. I expressed to him that online it shows you it as a side (and shared the image with him online as well) He proceeded to roll his eyes and tell me I needed to put it in the comments section. (please refer to my photo as there is no section for comments nor would I know to do that since their online platform addresses it as a side) To his dismay he did proceed to change it while continuing to give attitude. Not only did they not take the broccoli out of the wrap they also forgot core ingredients to their order leaving out roasted red pepper in the vegetable wrap. When I shared with him that the online ordering needs updating so this doesn't happen he told me "don't tell me tell the guy with the computer" The lack of owning up to this mistake (as the restaurant I know it wasn't his personal error) and giving unnecessary attitude is the reason I am writing this review. I understand mistakes our made and that the online ordering systems being faulty is not his mistake but its also not mine. Instead of saying I am sorry we will fix that right away I received verbal conflict and unnecessary facial expressions. I'm not really sure how this is anyway to run a business. Also the owner I assume with the computer didn't even have the decency to look up or address the issue when his staff pointed to him. In a sleepy town, La Piazza's pizza shines! I made a reservation for 11 people which included 5 children (1 baby). Due to pandemic guidelines, they sat us at 2 separate but nearby tables so we did a kids' table and mostly adult table. While my family ordered a whole bunch of things, my Arugula Fig Pizza really stood out and reheated well the next day. For other dishes, the consensus was that they were pretty good to good. In fact, my kids enjoyed their single pizza slices which arrived quickly while hubs thought that his Portobello Boli (stromboli) was good but could have used way more mushrooms. In pizza we trust! Being one of the only pizza places I am willing to pay more than $9-10, it is going to pain me to give this review. My most recent visit was NOT what I expected. Not much has changed with this place's physical appearance however my last trip had me questioning the level of found quality. They have a giant menu and I liked the "create your own pasta" option. You pick the kind of pasta you want and the sauce. As of March 2022, it was $15.49 and came with your choice of a soup or salad. You can upgrade your dish with protein or thicker pasta substitutes (like ravioli or gnocchi) for a charge. I got the pesto cream sauce over rigatoni. It was so hot when served so I'm glad everything was made fresh. Absolutely delicious and I had a bunch of leftovers. For dessert I opted for the Oreo mousse cake which to my surprise had a mint flavor (kind of like a Thin Mint). It wasn't the taste I was looking for and the server was so nice to let me swap out my dessert with the chocolate spoon cake. That was a chocolate lover's paradise -- so rich and decadent and heavenly with each bite. My favorite and most frequented restaurant in the area. I've never had a bad meal here, either dine in or take out, and I've done plenty of both. Whether you want a sandwich, panini, burger, pizza or full dinner the quality is the same. Some of my favorites are the salad for two, which is an antipasto type salad on a platter with greens, roasted red peppers, eggplant, mozzarella. A nice appetizer when having one of their many wonderful pizza choices. When dining in the rolls come out nice and hot. They give you a little dish of herbs to use with the olive oil on the table for dipping. Then a choice of soup or salad. Pasta fagioli is my favorite but this time we tried the split pea which was delicious. There are so many dinner choices on the menu and they'll make it to your preferences. You won't be disappointed. Have been to La Piazza many times but always for their amazing pizzas. Tonight decided to have dinner there and our waitress was amazing. Ended up having the Veal Siciliano and it absolutely melted in your mouth. It was by far the most tender veal I have ever had, no knife needed, could just use the fork. Would be hard pressed to ever pick something other than that dish! Also had the pasta pocket carbonara and that too was fantastic but SO filling. Everything comes with a soup and you can't go wrong with pasta fagioli. Parking can be annoying because the lot isn't big enough and you can't turn around if you pull in and realize there is nothing... however, there is a church lot close by and public parking right across from the church as well. 100% will be going back! read more

Stopped by on a Saturday night, we were in the area and looking for a dinner spot before heading to the Westhaven Farm for the corn maze. Did a search on Yelp and this spot looked good. We were immediately seated and served a bucket of dinner rolls served with both butter and a dish of seasonings for an olive oil dip. The entrees are served with soup or salad. I had the house salad with balsamic and my fiancé ordered the soup of the day that was a roasted red pepper soup served in the cutest little flower pot... Salad was crisp and fresh with a nice dressing and he enjoyed his soup selection as well. I decided on the Rigatoni Francescana- It had the rigatoni with mushrooms and ground beef blended with mozzarella in a pink cream sauce. Very tasty sauce nicely seasoned and rigatoni cooked perfectly. My fiancé had the Salmon al pesto- Salmon with sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and mushrooms in a pesto cream sauce over linguine. He loved it! I tried a bite and the salmon was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. The portions were large so we each took about half home which we enjoyed the next day. The prices were also very reasonable and the service was excellent. They also are BYOB if you're interested. OMG! I just had the BEST meatball parm ever! The roll was so warm, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside! It was sooo delicious! Went here while on a business trip with recommendation from my hotel and reading reviews. I don't normally do reviews but in this case I feel I had to. The service from our waitress was very slow and she was not attentive at all. One waitress was buzzing around but ours was never to be found. I get the stress of the service industry, but from what I could tell we were 1 of her 2 tables. I had high hopes for the food because of the raving reviews I saw. Unfortunately that was not the case.
