Let me just say. I am appalled by the customer service that i received. The apparent "owner" was so rude. Hung up on me twice. I ordered a veggie pizza. (All the other pizza had a full description- veggie pizza did not say any cheese). When it was delivered. (After waiting 30 min) - the pizza had cheese on it. Called to ask it to have resolved. I was met with rudeness, him hanging up 2x on me, claiming i was in the wrong after i explained I HAD ORDERED THE VEGGIE PIZZA FROM THEM WITH NO CHEESE WITHOUT NEEDING TO INDICATE. He was rude, said he didn't care that he lost my business, claimed that no other place makes cheese less pizza, and said that i was in the wrong for calling. He was condescending and outright mean. I do not support businesses that have disgusting customer service. read more

I stopped at Somerset Pizza for a quick lunch on my way back to the office from a field visit. I noticed a few things right away: there's a very nice outdoor seating area and the inside of the restaurant was spotless and well-kept. The staff was friendly and service was VERY quick. Being particularly hungry, I ordered three slices: a plain, a Margherita, and a tortellini slice. The plain slice was really good! It featured an excellent red sauce with a garlicky, buttery cheese and a fluffy, delicious crust. The Margherita had a superb, sweet sauce with fresh mozzarella and fresh, delicious basil. The crust was perfectly crisp. The tortellini slice had an excellent structure to support the pasta topping. It was cheesy and delicious (not to mention very filling). Somerset Pizza & Restaurant certainly met my needs. I would absolutely return if I were in the area. read more

We came in search of the ultimate Margerita slice-- found the glass shelves empty-- inquired as to when there might be a pie, and we're told to wait. "Ten minutes," he said. Maybe the single best time investment ever. And the longest ten minutes ever. This slice was unctuous, fresh, herbaceous with chiffonade ribbons of fresh basil. It was perfect. We went to Somerset Pizza & Restaurant twice for takeout pizza. We had a total of 4 pizzas. The first time we ordered 2 pizzas, their pizzas tasted great. But that evening, we got sick. Tonight, Sunday 5/12/24 we decided to try them again because their pizzeria is nearby. Whoever made our two pizzas tonight appears to be a real novice. Both pizzas tasted like a salt mine--the base was very dried out and burnt on the bottom in sections.. Plus the cheese was about 2 inches off the slices. It's no wonder the owner doesn't give refunds. We didn't even ask about a refund after reading the other reviews. This was one of only a few times when my husband tossed most of our pizzas in the trash. And after he threw away half our uneaten pizzas and what was left on our plates, I ran into the bathroom with diarrhea. Getting sick twice after ordering their food twice tells me that there could be an issue with their sanitary conditions. When the previous owner owned this place, we never got sick after eating here. read more

I was pleasantly surprised as I have been coming to Somerset for a while and I have always been disappointed with the pizza in this area that is supposed to be a pizza hotbed. I avoided this place because of the lower reviews than other places. Glad I came. Best pizza I've had from here to Princeton, of course it's not Conte's level, and it's not a 5, but it's more than a 4 on this scale, and better than some of Portnoy's 8+'s. And I thought the staff was super friendly, especially the very nice, friendly young woman who chatted pleasantly with me while waiting for my food, but all the staff was friendly. Placed an order online for delivery at 5:45 for 2 medium pies and an order of calamari. At 7:00 I called to see where my food was. I was told the driver left 5 minutes ago. Store is less then 10 minutes from my house. Food is delivered at 7:15 (1-1/2 hours after I ordered) and pies look as though they were turned upside down. I call once again, they said they will make me 2 new pies and rush them over to me. Should be here in 30 minutes. That was an hour ago and food is still not here. Went in for lunch today, as I had a client meeting at a local office, and it was local to my appointment. In one word, everything was good, nothing blew me away. They had a large selection of specialty slices as I arrived during lunch time today and the dining room was populated but not crazy with customers. I went to the counter to see what was talking to me, and I kept it simple and ordered 2 slices of pepperoni and went to the soda fridge and grabbed a 20-ounce bottle of diet Pepsi. Within two minutes, I received my slices and paid for it, and my total was 9 dollars, which I thought was average for two slices and a bottle of soda. My slices were hot but did not burn the roof of the mouth. The pizza did not have the oil packets of the pepperoni, but the pepperoni was crispy and provided a nice salty crunch. There was a perfect amount of cheese on the pizza, and it was firm when folded in half. The sauce was slightly too sweet for me, but still good. Most importantly, the crust had a nice bite and was chewy on the inside. Next time I am in the area, I will be back. read more

I've came here roughly 10 times for the past 1 month spending at a minimum of $30.00 per pickup. This last time was the last, they became extremely cheap, i simply asked for them to put my pizza slices in a small pizza box as the oil leaks and the paper bag becomes dirty. The lady told me to pay $3.00 for pizza box, she claimed that she doesn't get anything free in life and why should I, even though i just spent $30.00. She was horrible and made me extremely uncomfortable. I threw my lunch out as she completely ruined my day. All i asked was for my slices to be put in a box. I wanted to order a few things from here before I actually left a review I wanted some pizza and today I just had some some in my own personal opinion it's an okay place or they're in a place it wouldn't be my first choice but if I had nowhere else to go I would order here I think the pizzas are pretty good across this plane I'm from Florida so the food here up north is very blah? Lack of flavor on the crusts, the sandwiches are okay but they give you things that you didn't ask for as my Italian sandwich had only two meats in it and salami no pickles no potato chips nothing that goes with an Italian sub.... My boyfriend had a steak and cheese and he said he could have sworn it was made with ground beef and there was french fries and his sandwich which he didn't appreciate cuz he didn't ask for French fries so as I said I would come here in a pinch but it wouldn't be my first choice..... I'm fighting the food everywhere here in New Jersey to be very plain no flavor no taste no seasoning makes me really miss food back in Florida. read more

Somerset Pizza used to be our favorite take out place all through Covid. Everything we ordered from there was extremely tasty, but lately I have been very disappointed with the food I've ordered. The taste of the sandwiches, pasta and salads has significantly deteriorated. I ordered a cold ham and cheese hero with cheddar today.... it was the most tasteless sandwich I had eaten in a while. No seasoning, minimal mayo tons of shredded lettuce and very little ham with shredded cheddar on top with a couple slices of onion and tomato placed on top, not inside the sandwich.
