Don't let the dark bottom worry you. Not burnt. Not the least bit bitter. Nice scald on it. Need that for the ring of cheese.

Truly astounding. I am very particular about my pizza. I have visited and ranked 59 pizza places in NJ and NY and this place immediately jumped to the top of the list. Yes, above that WAY more famous place in Raritan, not more than 5 minutes away. There are several reasons for this. 1. The pizza is outstanding. I tried three varieties. The square crispy cup pepperoni pizza (a slice) that had a wonderful crust and just the right of pepperoni that was perfectly crisp. Think of kind of a grandma's crust. Then the Sicilian (also a slice). I normally don't go for the Sicilian but when the owner, Anthony, found out I was there for the first time he insisted I try it on the house. He is, rightfully, quite proud of it. Very light and airy, thick crust with a focaccia-like middle and a nice crunchy crust. Good amount of cheese and sauce. I liked the pepperoni a bit better because that is more my style but this was exceptional as far as Sicilian goes. And now, the star of the show. The 'Skinny Vinnie'. I am a sucker for a thin pizza with a ring of caramelized cheese around edge and this did not disappoint. Very much like another highly rated place in Millburn. The bottom is well done (to the point some people complain about it) but you have to get a good scald on it in order to get the right crisp on the crust and the right singe on the cheese. It was dark brown but not at all burned. No bitterness at all. The sauce has a bit of sweetness but is balanced out with salt. The cheese is top notch. Just amazing pizza, top to bottom. 2. The owner. As I said, Anthony (son of the original owner, Vinnie) gave me a free slice of Sicilian because he was just dying for me to try it. Talked to him for a bit. Super nice guy. Also, I forgot to order the Skinny Vinnie and just asked for a plain pie and when I realized that 10 minutes later they happily made me a Skinny Vinnie without hassle. 3. You can get in there without standing in line for 20 minutes and they don't run out of pizza at 12:45. I really hope Mr. One Bite never comes to visit. He would give it a 9 and it would suddenly be overrun with people. That would be good for Anthony so maybe I don't wish it but selfishly, just for me, I'd rather have easier access. Either way, it is a secret that shouldn't remain a secret. So, just brilliant all the way around. Can't say enough nice things about it. This review is five times longer than most of mine but it is just that good. I'm just upset it took me this long to get here. Had to wade through 58 other pizzas and finally found what I was looking for all along.

First time here. We had a Sicilian margarita pizza. Everything from the fresh tomatoes, the mozzarella, and the crispness of the bottom crust was excellent. The dough was so light. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were people picking up and people stayed to eat inside. We definitely will be going back.

I grew up on manville pizza. Since I could walk this has been shoved down my throat and I'm beyond happy I did Never did I realize how great this is or appreciate it until I moved to PA. I've had every single type of pizza on that menu. The classic plain slices are so thick and sauce is to die for The chicken bacon ranch is awesome. My sister gets it at least once a month no matter what Me personally, the best specialty slice is the Fra Diavlo. PACKED with a spice flavor in that sauce and loaded with chicken It's a shame the father passed away. He was such a nice old little Italian man. The son is okay. I've caught him ringing things up I didn't order before and make different prices on slices before.... The pizza is great, the service has gone down so that's why I'm not giving it 5 stars

We had a late 2:00pm lunch, and the place was pretty busy for a Saturday afternoon. I had recently seen a FB post that Portnoy gave the regular pie a decent rank (he usually only rates thin crust). A little research shows they do a thin crust. So I ordered a half cheese/half meatball. They made it fresh, and delivered right out of the oven. We were very happy with our choice!!! The little bit of crust was perfectly crispy, it was a thin crust all around. Tasty sauce, real mozzarella, not that fake stuff. The meatballs were very good too. It's not a monster pie...the 2 of us nearly ate the whole thing. I saw they had bottled beer available, so that's an option for next time. Lots of dishes walked by us...sandwiches, salads. All looked good. There are dessert options as well. The dining area isn't huge, so plan ahead! The workers/servers were pleasant and happy. We will definitely be back!!!

Such friendly staff great service- he even gave us a taste of grandma's pizza as we were tossing between that and pizza primavera . Grandma's pie has a slight garlic flavor and was fresh tomatoes, sauce, and cheese with a thin crust yet very filling. Pizza Primavera was delicious with fresh broccoli and tomatoes adorned with a ton of cheese and had a thicker crispy crisp. Definitely a place to try. Can't wait to eat leftovers plus owner says it freezes welll it's a double win we wil definitely be back

Love this pizza place. Has gotten a little pricey over the years but worth it. You have to park on street because no parking lot

This was the second time I had ordered takeout from this location. The pizzas are pretty amazing and the staff is super friendly, very casual dining place. Prices are pretty decent and comparable to most pizzerias. We decided to try the skinny Vinny pizza this time around and I must say it was delicious. I ordered it with pepperoni and onion. The crust was thin and buttery and full of flavor. You can get whatever toppings you want but don't go overboard as you don't want to take away from the crispy crust. Try those zeppolis they are delicious!!

ALWAYS an A-mazing pie!! I've been ordering from Manville for years now and they have never disappointed me. I love so many of their pies (ex. The Works, Pepperoni, Sausage & Broccoli Rabe), their Stromboli is the way you should expect a quality Stromboli, Chicken Roll can't be beat, Calzones are packed with fillings & the creamiest Ricotta you could ever ask for.... Which leads us to the photos below. This is their Eggplant Rollatini Pie. Fried eggplant, their incredibly simple yet perfect sauce, quality mozzarella & truly the purest, creamiest & slightly sinful Ricotta you have ever tasted! Their dough is light yet holds up to any toppings you add and the crust is always the cherry on the meal... perfect texture, chew & crisp. Don't sleep on Manville!!

As usual, the best pizza in the area. Manville Pizza has been a family favorite since we moved to Hillsborough and we've now been ordering pizza here for nearly 16 years. Between the pies and the counter slices, you really can't go wrong. They have the best sauce in the area. It's not too sweet, but also not too acidic. Every time that I have had pizza elsewhere, I can never find a crust that compares to Manville Pizza. The crust is soft and chewy with the perfect crisp. Everywhere else is either too doughy, or way too hard. Here, it's perfect. Some must try items are the chicken vodka pizza, hot honey with pepperoni, sweet Vanessa, and definitely try their Italian sub and cheesesteak. So many great choices that you can't go wrong!

Good pizza, self-serv, friendly. Home made cookies were our favorite. It's not BYOB. They have some decent canned beer and wine in little individual bottles. Worth stopping in if you're in the area.

The Skinny Vinny is ok but to charge $19 (after tax) for a pizza that small is ridiculous. Not a chance I'll be back.

Parking is in the back in the ShopRite lot, or you can try to park on the street. Somerville has become quite a foodie town, and street parking can be difficult to find. We had a party of five and were seated promptly at a round table, which was nice. We could all chat and see each other. Our server was friendly and professional and answered all our questions about the food. The meals were entree-sized instead of lunch-sized. Alfonso's doesn't allow lunch portions on Sundays. To start, we were given a family-style salad. It was mediocre at best. Boring. Mostly iceberg lettuce, no tomatoes, red onion on top, carrots, and cucumber. The complimentary bread was good, but it wasn't Italian. We were given another basket after we finished the first one. The butter was in those little plastic containers. Nothing fancy. Our entrees were: Dinner Giambotta (mild): Italian sausage, peppers, onions, potatoes, garlic, white balsamic parmesan sauce. Shrimp and Scallop Scampi Scallops & Shrimp Al Limone: Imported Roman artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, and green olives in a lemon butter white wine sauce. Cheese Tortellini Al Forno: Rose sauce, parmesan, fresh mozzarella. Eggplant Rollatini. My daughter had a Mediterranean Mule, which consisted of Figenza fig vodka, ginger beer, & lime juice. She enjoyed it! We all enjoyed our fairly large entrees, and most of us took some home. I would recommend Alfonso's. I've been here before and enjoyed it as well.

The service is quick too, I felt like our food came out quickly for the size of our group. One thing to note is that this restaurant is BYOB. The food - it was okay. The eggplant rolatini was fine, although I think the eggplant was sliced a little thick for the dish. The lobster ravioli sauce was good, but the ravioli itself was extremely thick (the pasta part). It felt like more ravioli than lobster. I was really excited about the tri color pizza, it sounds so yummy with all the sauces! I was disappointed to see that the stripes however are all of the 3 sauces you get. So I felt it really lacked in sauce. What I think should have been done, is thick stripes of the sauce, cheese on top, and then the stripes for the plating. My sister got the pesto pizza and the also complained that there was a lack of sauce. Overall, I think this restaurant is okay.
