Just okay. One of the only pick up areas I town so it is nice to just get a slice rather than a whole pie. Wish I could review higher, but the cheese isn't fresh enough, doesn't have much of a pull when bite into a slice. Sauce in the plain is overly sweet. I think there's potential here, but changes need to be made in order to improve. read more

Best pizza in middlesex county. Been coming here since it was in originally opened in the tiny strip building between quick check and the entrance for the bank. The two main guys have been staples of the business since it opened. I've been ordering their ziti pie since the 90s. They always greet me as if I was family. I like that as I live out in Hunterdon county for the past 20+ years and don't get their as often as I used too, but they always seem to remember me once we make eye contact. I appreciate their business and love their food. Anyone in the area must give them a try. The pizzeria is small but the food is great. read more

This is an updated review since my last visit. Very disappointed they really don't use fresh ingredients. At least for the veggie white pizza. The mushrooms they used were from the can! Smh I normally get the buffalo chicken pizza and that was always delish. So figured their other pies would also be but, nope was I very disappointed. I literally just threw away an entire eggplant parm dinner! Came home after a 13 hour shift craving eggplant parm, came here bc I like their pizza... the eggplant was fried in old, dirty, stinky oil. Left a dirty grease taste after I put the first bite in my mouth. I could actually smell the dirty oil smell resonating over the watered down tomato sauce. No garlic, no spices, pure red tomato sauce. Bland as it could possibly get. I wasted $13.50 and now I'm going to just make an omelet for my dinner. That was completely disrespectful Lucas. Thanks for completely letting me down. I'll prob wake up later with indigestion and be reminded of one of the worst dinners I have ever gotten from an "Italian restaurant" lol I'm so disgusted and disappointed read more

Never been here before and stopped in for a couple of slices. This place is as advertised. Old school place that makes olld school pizza. Watched him make a couple and thought he could have learned to do that before he could walk (he obviously didn't, but you know what I mean). Even if you just stop in for a slice, it's worth it. We've ordered twice now through Door Dash and have had great experiences both times. Middlesex has to have at least ten pizza places when you include chains and Lucas has the best pizza by far - trust, I've tried them all. What makes it the best, you ask? Yummy crispy thin crust that is not bland or chewy. High quality cheese and a great recipe for sauce. My friends have told me that the cheesesteak and chicken rolls are tasty as well, but I never bother because the pizza is so great! I will say the parking is a bit obnoxious and detracts from wanting to go there, but I make do. Don't go here if you are looking for a dine in experience - best experience you can have is order a pizza for take and out enjoy the quality! read more

Neighborhood gem! In a location where there are a lot of pizzerias, this is one of the few that are excellent! I have been in the neighborhood for 2 1/2 years before recently going to Luca's. I've been a loyal fan of Avellino's (Dunellen) and Ray's (Green Brook), but Luca's will strain my loyalty. My current favorite: Buffalo Chick Pizza, they do a great job with it. Then I tried their Chicken Parmesan Sub... That deserved a 5 star rating as well... Are you all confused yet? Good, so am I!!! How, in God's name, does a Pizzeria & Restaurant serve such good pizza, such wonderful Chicken Parmesan yet have the AUDACITY to serve STORE BOUGHT FROZEN MEATBALLS?!?!?! On top of that the Eggplant Parmesan was to date, the most disgusting clump of mushy nastiness I've ever had to try and endure! Without any exaggeration whatsoever, I was nauseous after one bite! I enjoy the food they make a great cheesesteak. But watch out for the guy who makes the pizza. Every time he rings me up he adds a dollar to the price. He has been doing this for months prior to the price change. Complained all they can say is a price change. Of which they don't update their menus but that is another issue. Luca's is small pizzeria that makes really good pies and solid sandwiches. The pizzas have a generous amount of toppings and a good crust. Their cheesesteaks are one of the better ones in the area. Even though you normally aren't going to pizzeria for french fries, I do like to get them when I get a sandwich. Unfortunately, their fries always tend to be a little soggy. Sicilian is the best, as I have yet to find any place that makes Sicilian like they do. Food is delicious, never had a problem with it. I've had subs, regular slices, meals, and they were hot, tasty and filled me up. Very friendly in there too, if you like soccer they'll talk with you about it. Whether you're looking for a quick slice or an entire entree, this place is your best bet. The food is always very good and is extremely hot (which is a sign that they just made it, so that's a huge plus!) The owner is very friendly and will always make small talk with you and make you feel welcome. There was one incident where I got a veal parm sub to go and grabbed a drink out of the cooler and the owner told me that he wasn't going to charge me for the drink. When I asked why, he said it was because he remembered that the last time I was there, he saw that I left my drink on the counter after I paid for it. I was blown away yet so pleased by his honesty. I didn't even remember leaving my drink there the previous time but he insisted that he wasn't going to charge me for it this time.
