You kind of always have a soft spot for the closest local pizza place. These guys are maybe half a mile away, with decent prices and easy pickup/delivery service that they use a 3rd party website for. We ordered 3 large pizzas for a cat party - veggie, meat, and Hawaiian. Thin crusts and easy to eat, and were the first things to get eaten from our potluck meal. So what is exactly is a cat party? Well thats a whole nother story but basically the folks at Romanos made a very very good effort to follow my 'please arrange toppings in cat shape' instructions. So kudos to that! read more

Crust is light and thin which is how it should be done. Diesel specials and the cheesesteaks are where it's at. All that aside they sell a slice that's entirely made out of spaghetti with bacon and Parmesan sprinkled over top. Crispy on the outside kinda mushy inside. Fn Delicious !! read more

So this place just recently got a new management team and I decided to go give it a try. From the second I walked in I immediately noticed how clean and tidy this place is. Their menu has a variety of items, ranging from pizzas (of course) to fresh subs, pastas, soups, and a wide variety of appetizers. Everything there is made fresh everyday and the staff is so catering to each customers needs/dietary restrictions. I tried the plain pizza, a margarita slice, and a jalapeño slice. The plain pizza was well done the way I love and it was perfect. The margarita was very flavorful and delicious. The jalapeño slice was well done like the plain one! Overall I'm really happy with the new management and with the variety of foods offered here. I'm excited to come back and try more than just the pizza next time! read more

This was our first time ordering from pizza spot. We aren't crazy about it besides the plain pizza. The calzone had cheese but it could've been cooked longer; it was kind of watery. We didn't like it. The chicken parmigiana sub wasn't bad. The bread was really soft though and didn't have that extra hard crispy edge. The mozzarella sticks weren't that hot so it didn't have that gooey cheese effect everyone loves. Delivery was quick too. read more

An old standby from my Piscataway days-in fact, it's one of my favorite pizza places if I'm just going to stop in for a couple-three slices rather than looking for a whole pie. It's odd, when you order a whole pie here it always seems like the crust is a little too thick, but the pies they have made for slices have a thinner crust. Either way, the pizza is pretty good, but a little expensive. Their Sicilian slices are excellent-both crispy and a little chewy, delicious sauce and the cheese is well anchored and doesn't pull off with each bite. In my opinion, probably the best Sicilian in the area down there. I do also like their regular pizza, and the sausage they use is friggin' delicious. What I really like about Romano's is that they just try to be a pizza joint...not a lot of fancy pizzas sitting out, just your basics. And btw, if you want a really good chicken parm sandwich...they'll hook up your taste buds here. Not too saucy, chicken done just right, nice roll. If your in Piscataway, give them a shot...just beware of a busy lunchtime crowd during the week sometimes. read more

Best thing about Romano's: it's the pizza place in the neighborhood. Worst thing about it: it's overpriced, in my opinion. And honestly, I've had much better pizza; theirs are a bit greasy and floppy. But on the other hand, it's close, it's convenient, and the pizza isn't bad, just not great. The hot subs are okay, too; I like the meatballs or Italian sausage with bell peppers. If you're new to the neighborhood or work nearby and want someplace convenient, it's fine, and if you're having people over for movies and pizza, it'll work for that too. But I wouldn't make a special trip from far away. There are a few booths to dine-in, but most of its business is probably take-out, unless it has a lunch rush; never been there at that time. read more

Came in here on a Saturday night with 15 Girl Scouts and 5 adults. They were welcoming and accommodating. Their pizzas were delish! Also loved their grilled chicken salad and chicken caesar salad. 5 pizzas and 3 salads was more than enough to feed all of us... ate the leftovers the next day- yum! ps- clean bathrooms :) We were staying at the Embassy Suites around the corner. I live real close to Romano's and my family and I have been ordering pizza from here since I can remember so we've been satisfied with them for many years. We usually order a large pie, and I've never been disappointed with their cheese, pepperoni, or veggie pies. Cheesy and delicious. I never really tried any of their other food here until just recently, where I friend and I actually ordered on Valentine's Day! We got the Penne Vodka pasta with chicken, garlic knots, a chicken Caesar wrap with onion rings, and a side salad with ranch. It was so much better than I expected! The delivery was pretty fast for a holiday and I was really satisfied. The portions were very large and we had a bunch of leftovers. I usually don't like penne vodka but the sauce on this one was terrific - very creamy and tasty. Would definitely go back for more. I loved my chicken caesar wrap and every bite was tasty, not like some wraps that have a small portion of chicken or dressing - this one was loaded. The also enjoyed the onion rings it came with and they were crunchy even the next day. Loved that the regular side salad came with red peppers and olives in addition to just lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. My only complaint would probably be that the garlic knots were a little more dry than I was used to, but they still had a good flavor. The bread that came with the pasta was also hard as a rock! Listen here. My man told me to grab a fat slice of 'za - fresh. But theres absolutely no chance this Romano is an Italian. This pizza was so limp it looked like me after 17 whiskey sours at last call. Not trying to compare grabbing a slice from Romanos to looking for literally anything when the lights turn on at the club, but here we are. If you're okay with limp, soggy pizza, this is your place. I admit I'm sentimental I remember when the building was built. Returned home after twenty years and got a pie. They don't make it like this west of the Mississippi. Arrived 45 minutes after the promised time so I was eating past midnight at this point. When delivery boy showed up he was missing half my order. He had to go back and get it. My evening was ruined thanks to Romano's. I ordered an eggplant parmigiana dinner and 8 garlic knots. I paid $12.00, but what I received wasn't worth half the price. What I received was beyond disappointing, and in my opinion, unacceptable. There were two thin slices of eggplant and what looked like a half cup of spaghetti. The side salad was also disappointing: one olive and a quarter of a slice of a cucumber and tomato on a small amount of lettuce. The garlic knots were smaller than a takeout sauce cup. To add to this, I only got seven knots instead of eight. This was my first dinner experience at Romano's and it will be my last. The portions were ridiculously small and I felt rather ripped off. My wife called the pizzeria and was very irate at the employee, but no heated word were exchanged. Someone from the pizzeria called back, presumanly the owner. He didn't apologize, and rudely hung up on her. There are times when the customer isn't right but in this case I believe we were. I strongly recommend against buying from here. There are tons of pizzerias out there wanting your business, and it seems Romano's is not one of them. read more

The indisputable worst pizza in Piscataway. Years ago the place was redone, and under new management. While the place looks good now. the prices are ASTRONOMICAL when you consider the quality of the food there. The pizza is brutal. Try anything with chicken on it and you'll be greeted with chunks of fat and gristle. The pizza is a joke, completely floppy and mediocre for what you're paying for. The absolute only reason this place is still in business is because there is a lack of food in the area, and I suspect they do quite well during lunch time. There was entirely too much playing going on. I was sitting down waiting for a cheesesteak and heard something metal dropped and when i look the main guy playing around was laughing as he picked up the spatula off the ground used to make prepare the meat. He turned around and put that same spatula back on the grill without washing is off. The person that stepped away from making the meat came back to the grill and picked up that same spatula like it was normal business.
