It was Labor Day at 7pm. As we entered there was a smell of non cleanliness. There were 3 people working the kitchen making stuff for takeout. And we may have stopped by on a bad day, but we turned around and left. As I'm sure many did. If a restaurant does not smell clean, I never recommending eating there. Our favorite local spot for pizza. We tried a bunch of places in Edison and were not able to pin down something we liked -- all the crusts were too thin, the sauce too bland, etc. Plain pie -- crust was OK, slightly too thick and doughy. Margherita pie -- our favorite, light on sauce, mostly taste cheese. But when you hold up the square piece, it holds form and doesn't flop! Cheeseburger -- really good, but the bun is too large for the burger, and not sure if they layer it properly with the cheese/toppings, so whenever you take a bite, the burger kind of slides/falls apart. Maybe I need to take bigger bites! But enjoyable, and we will definitely order from here again. Penne vodka with grilled chicken -- bland sauce, can barely call it a vodka sauce at that point. Second stop of my recent Easton Ave pizza crawl, 2 more slices under the belt in the form of a reheated Chicken Bacon Ranch, and a fresh out the oven Pepperoni, prices were high per-slice in typical Easton ave fashion, so was the up-charge for using credit / debit to pay to the tune of $.50, steep. Pepperoni slice was fresh out the oven and had a completely different texture and makeup than the reheated slice, cheese fell of pie while trying to eat, crust was also far less firm than their reheated slices less. Half the blame id id say lie in the pepperoni, it's one of the greasier ones and no doubt attributed to the lack of stiffness in the pie. While the pizza was falling apart, the flavor was still there, sauce had a little bit of punch to it, cheese was very decent albeit messy, a decent slice like i'd grab from some of the neighborhood shops in my own area Chicken bacon ranch on the other hand nailed texture. It held together very well and still had a decent amount of flavor. Could have been left in a little longer- but was still fantastic, nice flavor, nice toppings, bacon wasn't too crisp, chicken was tender, wasn't too smothered in ranch, very well put together. Pj's was good, but it suffers from the same price hike everything else in the area does, but, if i were walking the strip and needed pizza i wouldn't mind stopping in here. I came here 9/9/16 at 12am with my friends once we left Olive Branch in New Brunswick, NJ. We always seem to get a pizza craving after a night of going out so we decided to go to PJ's. My one friend got a fat Darren and my other friend got a plain slice of pizza. I ordered a mushroom slice. The fat Darren looked so good! I want to say there was chicken fingers, mozz sticks, french frieds, and marinara sauce on it. It looked to die for! My other friend's pizza was good too. My pizza I didn't quite care for because the mushrooms were already sautéed and put on the pizza where normally they just throw some cooked mushrooms on there and cook it with the pizza. I guess whatever they sautéed it with gave my pizza a funky taste. But I will return to try other things. So there is always room for improvement! The employees were very nice too. read more

Not too thick, so you could actually taste the filling, and they were not stingy with the steak. I'd try some fat sandwiches from here in the future- really good. The PJ's pizza was also very good. Nice thick crust, able to hold the slice straight, and excellent cheese. Would 100% get another pizza from here. If it was just sandwiches and pizza, 5 stars. If it was wings and poppers, 1 star. You could say Pj's is the most loved pizza place by the Rutgers students. You can always hear drunk students on Easton Ave talking about how they wanna go get a slice at Pj's. And without a doubt it's mobbed on weekend nights. But the line moves fast. My personal favorite is their Chicken Alfredo Slice. I do have to say that Pj's isn't a great choice for vegetarians. Their speciality slices always seem to be meaty. They only have plain cheese slices, and who wants that anyway?! My con of going to Pj's is that they charge an extra 50 cents if you pay with a card.I already find paying almost $4 for a slice of pizza crazy to begin with, but adding 50 more cents onto that... I had such fond memories of PJ's from college. Maybe I was frequently eating there after a night of drinking in college or maybe they changed ownership, because it just wasn't the same on my most recent trip. I was there on homecoming so maybe high volume in the afternoon had something to do with it. Instead of calling ahead, I just popped in while my husband waited in the car. I was quickly able to place an order for a large, plain pie. The pie cost $10 (I miss college prices!) and took about 15-20 minutes. Obviously, I got a piping hot fresh pie. It was just lacking the spices that I remember used to be cooked in. Also, the cheese just didn't want to stay on the pizza. It was hard to take a bite without ripping a big chunk of cheese off. The crust was perfect though as it was an excellent combo of crispy and doughy. It wasn't a bad pizza but it just wasn't the same (and I have a pretty good food memory). I refuse to let my good memories fade so I'll have to give PJ's another shot next time I'm back in New Brunswick. read more
