Found this place while searching for quick bites in New Brunswick on yelp. So happy we tried it out. They offer a variety of slices, wings, garlic knots and sandwiches. My husband, mom, and I ordered 2 slices of the pepperoni with hot honey and 1 slice of the old fashioned. The pepperoni hot honey was my fave. It was perfectly thin and crispy with dollops of ricotta. A great combination of savory and sweet with a little kick. I also bought a cup of their vodka dipping sauce for my crust and my garlic knots. Overall, definitely recommend trying it out if you're in the area and ordering a whole pie! read more

Quite confused about the 4.5 stars for this place. We ordered takeout: a cheese pizza, penne alla vodka with grilled chicken, salad, and garlic knots. The pizza was, simply put, inedible. It was cold, like cardboard, and overly saucy. The garlic knots were made with a dough that I've never seen before and didn't have any particular taste. The salad - while it has nice legumes, tomatoes, and carrots, etc was drenched with way too much dressing taking away any health aspects of a salad and making it inedible. The only dish that was somewhat enjoyed was the penne all vodka. We had to share among the three of us. The focaccia bread had potential but was overbaked and very hard. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you eat there and hope that the food is actually somewhat average. read more

Ashamed to say I've been sleeping on Dee Dee's for a while, but after ordering 1/2 cheese and 1/2 pepperoni pie this past week, it's my newfound obsession. 2 days later and I'm legit fixated on ordering another pie for dinner. Perfect New York style pizza with a thin, light, crisp crust and the perfect amount of chew. Tomato sauce is aromatic and flavorful and was topped with the perfect sprinkling of cheese. Update 2026: Deedee's was excellent the first couple times after opening- really good (see my original review below). Then it really started to go downhill. My sense is they have a great menu and ingredients but trouble with quality control and inconsistency. Recent pizzas I've gotten have been burnt, over sauced, just sloppily made in general. Also I was very excited to try their chicken cutlets, unfortunately they were way overcooked and not good. So suffice it to say it's hit or miss. For what's it's worth they are very nice and Jackie did respond to a direct complaint I had but they just keep doing the same stuff. The place looked cute but upon entering it is truly filthy with grimy dirty walls a filthy floor and a surely staff whose demenior was basically apologetic at having to be there. The whole place needs to be hosed down and i wonder how sick I will be form the overcooked awful pizza. Was STARVING and came here on a whim. Ordered two slices of Pepperoni Hot Honey and a slice of the Gabbagol, with a side of friend garlic knots. Was so full off the PHH slices that I didnt even get to try the Gabbagol or Garlic knots, but what I had was SO GOOD. 8/28/25 - We pre-gamed at a place called DeeDees Pizza in Highland Park, NJ. It had great ratings and reviews and it was a few minutes from the stadium so I figured why not? DeeDees is a college town, quirky little pizza shop which I'm sure does wonderful business as soon as the bars close. I tried a plain slice and a Margherita slice. Both appear to be of the neopolitan pie variety but a bit thinner. The edge crust on each was crunchy yet moist and chewy ---just my style. The plain slice wasn't limp at all but you notice on first bite that there's more happening on this than just mozzarella. They definitely mix in a different cheese. I don't know what but I suspect it's either Asiago, Romano, Parmesian or even a mild Provolone. When you look at it, you can't see it. But you can taste it. It's not at all overpowering but it's evident. And it's not a bad thing, but it is surprising. The Margherita slice was so tasty. The sauce is excellent and the only cheese here is fresh mozzarella. The slice has a very pleasant basil taste as well. The drawback on this slice is it's completely limp. You need to keep your plate underneath it or you will lose all your tasty toppings. I was leaning towards a C+ grade but we had 4 slices total and two large Arizona ice teas and the total bill was 18 bucks. So they are getting a bump up. Overall Rating: B- read more

It took too long, but we finally made the 5 minute walk from our home to DeeDee's. I'm glad we did! We were greeted warmly by the staff and a yummy display of various pizzas available by the slice. There is a small seating area inside with much more tables outside (perfect for a nice day). We ordered a square pizza--half cheese and half pepperoni. It was a focaccia style dough, and although it was slightly over saturated with olive oil, it packed a nice crunch and solid flavor. The pepperoni cups were good quality and enhanced the flavor experience. We also ordered some buffalo wings. They were okay--lots of meat, which was good, but not an adequate amount of sauce to match. I'm glad we're so close by and look forward to trying some of their other options and maybe a sandwich, as well! read more

We've been waiting for Deedee's Pizza to open up for a long time. My wife and I have been looking for a good pizza spot around and since Fatto Americano closed in New Brunswick we have not really a place that scratches that itch. Today with high hopes my wife decided to get lunch from Deedee's. I figured she knows that I like so I trusted her to make the decision for me on what slices to grab. It is around the corner from our house so she was back shortly with a pizza box that I was excited to see what was inside. She had gotten a hot honey pepperoni pizza that I tried to bite of that I thought was pretty good. However, for myself she got me a buffalo chicken slice and a slice of the caccio e pepe. First, the buffalo chicken slice was probably the best buffalo chicken slice I've ever had. In addition to the buffalo sauce and the chicken, there was also pieces of celery and blue cheese. Some people might not be into this. However, I absolutely love blue cheese and having the blue cheese on the buffalo chicken pizza really took it to another level. As for the second slice, it was creamy, it was cheesy. It was a square pizza so it had a nice thick crust. I don't know how you wouldn't enjoy it. All in all, I think we found our new pizza spot after a long shortage of good pizza locally. Having grown up in North Jersey surrounded by very good pizza spots, I felt like this was something missing for my life and Deedee's has filled that void. If you're in town or any of the neighboring towns, you really owe it to yourself to check out this pizza place. And if you're driving through, it's definitely worth a stop. read more

As a repeat customer I can say this is the best fresh and handcrafted pizza and sandwiches in the area! The toppings are high quality and the dough is crispy yet soft and chewy where it should be. I love the generously portioned chicken caesar sandwich made on fresh focaccia and I order it a lot. Most recently we ordered a pie that was made with incorrect toppings, but after calling the manager said he would hand deliver a new pie immediately, which he did, and it was perfect. We order from here a lot and have dined in a few times as well. The vibe is just a simple pizzeria, very casual. The square pizzas are really the stars of the show here; I've found that the regular pizzas are nothing spectacular. In terms of the square pizza, I love the Gabagool (capicola, Calabrian chili, hot honey, San Marzano tomatoes, Grande mozzarella, basil). It's go a perfect balance of savory, spicy and sweet. The dough of the square pizza is perfectly crispy and not overly thick, so you can easily eat a few slices and not even feel it. We typically order on weekends and for some reason it has become increasingly more difficult to get a square pie. However, if we order a few hours in advance, they are usually able to make it happen by dinner-time. read more

Two pizzas cost me $55.00. One was a simple plain pizza, and one was supposed to be a simple pizza with mushrooms and onions.Two pizzas here with no meat are more expensive than two grass-fed, Frenched rib, racks of lamb. Flour, tomato sauce, a sprinkling of cheese. What's wrong with this picture? Plain: I'll always remember this pizza for it's intense (and terrible) acidity. The sauce was horrible - so acidic it made me pucker. The cheese seemed very cheap and tasteless. The crust was very bready on the edges, very thin and VERY chewy interior, yet totally floppy. After eating one slice, it left a terrible aftertaste in my mouth, and three coworkers said the same thing without me even mentioning it. Mushroom/Onion: This pizza had no sauce and supposedly had caramelized onions and truffle oil. First time in my life that caramelized onions were tasteless and boring, not sweet like they should be. The mushrooms were also flavorless probably having been sauteed in cheap oil with no seasonings. No sign of truffle oil... Very weird taste. I couldn't eat more than a few bites. So, it's not the worst pizza I ever had, but it comes close. $55 for this was shameful. read more

I tried the pepperoni hot honey square, the plain round pie with pepperoni, and a slice of traditional. All we're spectacular! The sauce is rich and tangy, the pepperoni cups with hot honey had a balance of spice and sweet, and the ricotta rosettes were beautiful. They use a 3 day fermentation process. Amazing slices. Today was my second time visiting and the pizza has been consistently good. Excellent crust and fresh ingredients. I really liked the Grandmas pizza. The crust was so light and yummy with a nice hint of olive oil. I also tried the chicken, bacon ranch which was super yummy. I can see that becoming a sandwich as well which I would readily order.
