The Dave Portnoy Pizza Large 18 inches

I am slowly working my way through a Pizza Passport gift. A pie named after the man himself was a solid choice, but the Godfather pizza stole the show. Vodka sauce is always worth trying on pizza. This place worked was a great choice on the way home from a week d trip.

    This was yummy!

this place is absolutely phenomenal. I was door dashing and I came here to pick up an order and I saw how beautiful their pizza creations are. I have been trying to remember what the pizza spot was and a low and behold it was this one. I got the Barada slice, and my boyfriend got the buffalo chicken when I tell you these slices are massive, they are basically two slices in one. This was the most delicious pizza that I have ever tried, it was so tasty. The service was great, they're ready to take your order as soon as you walk in and if you need a minute, they don't mind. The ambience was nice dim lit with plenty of seating, just like any other pizzeria .

    Cheese Steak Special (no mushrooms)

I was excited to try a new cheesesteak spot and was hoping it could become my go-to. This weekend, I ordered the cheesesteak special (no mushrooms), but I was disappointed when I opened the box. There was very little meat and barely any cheese. Definitely not what you expect from a cheesesteak. For $13.25, it didn't feel like a good value, especially since the bread-to-meat ratio was way off. There's a place another ~6 minutes out that offers wayyy bigger portion and is generous with their servings. Unfortunately, I wouldn't order it again. On a positive note, I also tried the spicy vodka pizza slice, which was good. I'm giving the second star because the staff was kind to the very young boy ordering and offered him a garlic knot lol.

The best pizza I had in my life go to spot. The guys there are very friendly. Prices a little high but it tastes amazing. They have seating inside as well. $40 for the best pie of your life so worth it.

Unfortunately I have to update my review to only one star after ordering from their regular menu and not ordering pizza. Tonight we came here for dinner and wanted to order from their regular menu other than pizza which was a BIG MISTAKE! We thought that food would be delicious because it was priced higher than other pizza place in the area, and we don't mind paying extra for good food. My husband's lasagna was flat as a pancake with a big slab of mozzarella cheese on top. It had zero layers as a lasagna should have. My baked ziti wasn't good either as it barely had a ricotta cheese. To make matters worse is my husband asked for a cup of water and was told we can only give you water if you purchase a bottle! Never in our entire life from any pizzaria or even a high end steak house we were ever told we can't give you a cup of water unless you purchase a bottle! We were dine in customers and we each ordered a drink with our meal. I had a coffee and my husband had soda and we couldn't get a cup of complimentary tap water! How DISGUSTING and CHEAP are the owners of this establishment! On top of that we didn't even receive a piece of bread with our dinners! Every pizza place in NJ gives bread when ordering two dinners especially since we paid $53 for lasagna that was flat as pancake and baked ziti with barely any ricotta cheese! There are far better places that know how to treat customers that won't deny you tap water in a cup!

    Large Margherita Pizza

A couple of yelpers at a Yelp elite event told me about this place, and hence I had it bookmarked on my bucket list. I ordered the margherita pizza. It was absolutely delicious. It was vibrant. Crust was perfectly baked with the cheese stretching off the pizza with every bite. I also ordered their garlic knots/bread, which too was very tasty. I told workers to glaze it with extra extra extra garlic. There was alot of traffic in n out for take out orders and they have a very big business model for ordering pizza by the slice. I had ordered the entire pie. Ambiance was nice. Like your typical sit down pizzeria place. Service was fine. I will visit them soon again.

9/14/25 - NFL Sundays are made for pizza. So we did take out from Mancini's Pizza in East Brunswick, NJ. We sat outside while they prepared our order --- one large Sicilian and one large pepperoni. The friendly and helpful staff even tapped on the window to let us know our order was ready. Yes, the restaurant is crowded and does a brisk business which is another good sign. The pepperoni is a neopolitan style and a bit on the thinner side. The sauce is absolutely incredible. The cheese is clearly premium. The pie is perfectly prepared and the Italian spices are noticeable with each bite. They use thicker pepperoni slices which I really enjoyed. The big disappointment here is the slices are not very crispy and are very limp. When you pick one up, unfortunately, everything slides right off. It doesn't make it taste bad but its annoying nonetheless. The Sicilian slice was by far my favorite. It has that fermented Sicilian crust flavor and when you add their spectacular sauce and premium cheese, it is Sicilian pizza nirvana. The crust is crispy and not dry at all. Great care is taken here paying attention to every detail of this masterpiece. The prices here are not friendly for the budget conscious diners. But if you want quality, you have to pay for it. Mancini Pizza did a wonderful job catering my late mother-in-law's Celebration of Life service. We ordered a variety of food, enough for 40 people, and got a lot of delicious food at a good value for what we paid. Everyone was saying how great the food was and many people went home with leftovers. We got linguine with Clams, rolls, Caesar salad, marinara sauce, salad dressing, Vegetable lasagna, veggie wraps, broccoli rabe, and chicken with mushrooms. Everything was delicious! Mancini staff delivered to the church right at 2:00 p.m. as promised. Thank you Mancini Pizza for making our family's occasion go smoothly.

Service was great and fast. Got plain slices and a vodka sauce, burrata and pepperoni slice, which was delicious! Inside the usual pizza place inside.

Every time I'm in the East Brunswick area, I have to stop by Mancini Brooklyn Pizza -- it's just that good. This might even be my second review, but when a place consistently delivers incredible pizza, it deserves all the love! On our latest visit, we had plain, pepperoni, and white slices -- and every single one was fantastic. The ricotta and mozzarella on the white slice were unbelievably smooth and creamy. Their pizza sauce is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced -- you can really taste the quality in every bite. And the crust? Absolutely delicious. Crispy yet chewy, with just the right amount of char. It's the kind of crust you actually want to eat all the way through. We keep saying we need to try their entrees, and after so many great pizza experiences, I know they'll be just as amazing. Mancini's is truly one of the best pizza spots around -- if you're anywhere near East Brunswick, don't miss it!

We were visiting from Texas and were on the hunt for a traditional NY style experience/pizza. This place did not disappoint! There was a good line in here. The staff was hard at work like a well oiled machine cranking out pies. Loud hustling and bustle here. Lots of variety and it came out fairly quick. Just make sure you're paying attention to whose next and when your up. They may yell at you! lol

Tonight, I decided to pull in and give it a shot. The place was packed inside. I'm not sure how word got out to the community that this place is really good. But it has. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a large chicken caesar salad. The pizza crust at this place is SPECTACULAR. The outer crust is crispy and crunchy and not even a little bit dry. The undercrust is also crispy and crunchy and stands up straight when you pick up the slice. The cheese is high quality. After just one bite, I understood the reason the place was so crowded. There are a lot of people working in the kitchen and they also have a sit down waitress service area that was full as well. There are plenty of wait staff running around and serving dinner. Everyone is very friendly and the gentleman behind the counter greeted me the second I walked in the door. Now for my negative criticisms and they are borderline petty. The sauce was good but it doesn't blow you away. When you have spectacular crust and high quality cheese, you would expect the sauce to be on the same playing field. It just isn't. It could probably have used a bit more seasoning. I understand that if you have a lot of staff you also have a lot of overhead. I am not opposed to paying up for high quality products but my large pepperoni pizza and chicken caesar salad cost just under $49.00 which is extremely high for this area. It's definitely worth your time to give this place a shot. But it's definitely not a place you can eat at often unless you're independently wealthy. Overall Rating: A

With many…read morespectacular reviews both online and through those I've spoken to in person, I had such high hopes that I was going to find my new go-to pizza spot, but I don't think I will ever return after this encounter. We dined in on a snowy evening when there were no other patrons in the restaurant. Very few stopped in to grab to-go orders, but we were the only group to actually sit and eat dinner here. Upon reaching the counter in search of a menu, our first negative encounter occurred. We asked an employee if we could see a menu, and he dismissed us quite quickly in a rude manner, telling us to look on the counter as if we were blind. No menus there, nothing was there actually, leaving us standing confused. Once he realized his mistake, menus were thrown onto the counter without another word spoken. During this time a family did walk into the restaurant to pick up a to-go orders, which was not yet prepared, leaving them to stand and wait. When we decided on our order and approached the counter once again, we were told we had to wait 5 minutes for them to take our order. Understandable if the restaurant was busy and the front of house staff were in the middle of doing something, but no - the person who told us to wait 5 minutes was just standing there, doing nothing. This employee was not actively making the other guest's order (as there was a back kitchen responsible for that), leaving us even more confused as to why we had to stand there waiting, face to face with the employee, who was just standing and staring at us. After a few minutes of standing in confusion, the other employee who we encountered prior began arguing with this one, in front of the guests waiting for food, leaving us in a very awkward position. Only after the employee was scolded by his coworker was our order officially taken down. Once we received our food we sat at the few tables Ninos had to enjoy our meal. Throughout our dinner the two workers remained arguing with each other, outwardly discussing staffing issues and leaving us to feel unwelcome. Upon leaving, we packed up our leftovers and returned to the counter in search of a bag to place our food in. When asking the staff for a bag, we were thrown a stack of paper bags and told to take what we needed. Since the bag looked to be on the smaller end, we asked if this bag would fit the aluminum tray of food that we had leftover, to which the staff replied "I don't know, go figure it out for yourself." The food was decent, the pizza was crispy but nothing to write home about. During the time we dined in the options for pizza were a bit limited (understandably). The penne vodka was just okay, we felt as if it was pretty bland and heavy on the cream. The best thing consumed here was the Philly cheesesteak - messy and cheesy in the best way, but also lacking flavor and could have used a sharper cheese or even some salt. The bread was fresh and soft, which would be great for other hero sandwiches they serve. With the food being mediocre and the service horrific, we definitely did not feel welcome when dining in here. Throwing items at customers seems to be a common activity here, along with dismissive remarks and constant arguing between the staff making you feel as if you've intruded on personal matters. If the service were better my group would have considered returning, but this experience has left a bad taste in our mouths overall.

I decided to stay somewhat local and headed over to Vinnie's Pizza in East Brunswick, NJ. I've been to Vinnie's a few times since moving here with mixed results but i understand it's under new ownership. I ordered two large pies (I told ya the crew was hungry so don't judge )--- one plain and one pepperoni. The good: The sauce is plentiful. It's more of a sweet sauce than my preferred tangy style but it's seasoned perfectly. You taste the oregano and basil in each bite. The cheese is also plentiful and it is premium. The outer crust is a bit short on flavor but not bad enough to call it a deal breaker. It's only a little crispy and very moist on the inside. If you're thinking the lack of crispiness would cause the the slices to wilt, surprisingly you'd be incorrect. The slices stand up nicely! I folded the outer crust and there was no toppings sliding off and no oil drip. The bad: The policy they have here requires a 4% surcharge on all cards--- debit or credit. I've seen other places do this and it annoys me every time. Just build the 4% into the menu price and stop making me feel like you're nickel and diming me. Also, the pies could be cooked a few minutes longer to give the crust a crunchier texture. If you're local to East Brunswick, this place is worth a trip for a taste test. But I'm not sure this is what I'd call a destination pizzeria. Give it a shot--- you wont be disappointed. Overall Rating: B+
