    Soup dumplings

We went in a Sunday morning around 11:30am and was quite busy! Our server immediately came up to our table to take our drink orders and advised us to take a look at the variety of dimsum dishes on the pushcarts going past us. Panda King is the only dimsum restaurant that still incorporates the pushcart concept, which is very appealing! I enjoyed seeing many familiar and unfamiliar foods while also being able to enjoy my time dining. We noticed that some carts were missing today like the Tofu and noodle cart, which was slightly disappointing. On the other hand, the food was just okay. We tried a couple of new menu items (Soup dumplings and Steamed beef dumpling) Both were lacking in flavor and could not distinguish what type of filling were in there. Other items like the Fried calamari, Coconut snails and Crispy roasted pork belly are always a staple, but they were not as hot and more salty than usual. My favorite dish today was and will always be the Custard filled Pineapple buns! Definitely would recommend the buns!!

This is a pop corn shrimp. Not so popcorn though

The food here is great. It's hot and flavorful. Well worth the money. The make sure your glass stays full while you eat so for that the service is great. It's a really nice place. Very clean.

From all the dim sum places I've tried in NOLA, Panda King is the ONLY place that has rolling carts for the food options. I really appreciate this since it's a traditional aesthetic for dim sum that gives off an authentic vibe. The service was nice. The inside was normal, but clean. The food has always been great! Especially the shui mai & fried taro balls. The only downside is that they don't tell you how much each food item costs. You would have to pick from the cart, and the servers will stamp on the checklist for the price. You don't know the price beforehand. Aside from that, I don't really have any other complaints. Yummy House is a really good spot too, but they unfortunately don't have the rolling carts like Panda King. Overall, Panda King will always be an original West Bank dim sum staple.

I'm so sorry but this was probably some of the worse Chinese food that I've ever had in my entire life. Cold meat, mislabeled appetizers, and flavorless entrees. I heard a lot of good things about this place and it's hard to find a spot that does dim sum in the city so it was disappointing to say the least.

Mama was on the search for Honey Walnut Shrimp and they have it here!! Dim sum carts are only on Saturdays and Sundays. Dim sum can be ordered on the daily but on the paper and the kitchen will bring it out. The honey walnut shrimp came out super fresh and crunchy. Highly recommend to eat this with rice so you don't get sick of it. Dim sum was overall fairly good. Har gow and shu mai was pretty good. I like their bbq pork buns.

This is the closest Dim Sum to me. My second time here. Service was great but the food was really off. We got two lunch specials that came with soup so we ordered one of each the sweet and sour soup and egg drop soup. Both taste nothing close to any sweet and sour soup or egg drop soup I've ever had. I'm usually the person that would just eat it because I don't like wasting food but one spoon taste of both soup was enough. The calamari tasted like it had been fried and just left sitting on the counter before it was brought out to us. The congee was ok. The dumplings were ok. The chicken feet were flavorless. The basil clam has too many bites of shell to enjoy the clam. I would suggest giving it a good clean before cooking it I really enjoyed the veggies we ordered. The Chinese broccoli and the green beans on the lunch menu are fresh and flavorful.

Stopped here for lunch this past Sunday. It's been years since I've had dim sum so I was excited! This place is located in Louisiana, I suppose where must of the Asians live. I'm not familiar with this state or area expect for my once in awhile visits. I'm assuming since this area has alot of Asian markets, restaurants and supermarket. The wait was about 20 minutes for two people. Place was bustling with customers and staff. About every table was occupied. What I liked: -dim sum was served in the traditional carts. -they had hot chili oil and sauce at the tables. -the options was good. -Place was big with plenty of room. What could improve: -promptness - we were seated at a table by the entrance that didn't have table cloths or plating -we didn't get service once we sat down for about 10/15 minutes. I had to ask for plates and for our drink order -pricing was a bit high for what we ordered Our favorites was the duck, fish and the shu mai I would visit again if I'm in the area but would like to see some improvements.

Panda King had recently reopened with their dine in service. the staff were friendly and took every safety precaution when delivering food and service! We ordered from their lunch menu which included vietnamese egg rolls, lettuce wraps and their large variety of seafood and meat. the tenderness of the fried lobster was magnificent! the peking duck wraps were carefully made and were devine. The crispyness alongside the fresh vegetables made for a delectable bite. This was my favorite! we finished our lunch with banh cam (sesame seed balls filled with red mung beans )and flan. Their flan was subtly sweet and not overpowering like most are. The Banh Cam was fresh from the fryer and was phenomenal! Overall I am elated that my favorite place had re-opened for lunch. Definitely have to stop in to try their honey walnut shrimp!

Beautiful restaurant. Very nice staff. During covid, screens and mask wearing enforced. Just excellent. I had a lunch special of Kung Pao chicken with shrimp fried rice, egg roll, egg drop soup, and I also had friend dumplings. The food was awesome!

Buffet panda king is back. Everything is fresh and new. Come to see and enjoy

I remember when this place used to be called Christine's Empress of China. I believe Christine was…read morethe owner back then, and now it's simply Empress of China. The name may have shortened, but the experience is still just as memorable. From the outside, you're not really sure what you're about to walk into. You get a hint of the Asian aesthetic, but you don't realize how immersive it's going to feel. Then you open the door. Right at the entrance is a koi fish pond with a small bridge over it. No, you can't walk across the bridge, but the koi are real, and you walk right by them on your way to the dining room. It immediately sets the tone. The dining room itself feels like you've stepped straight into China. The decor, the lighting, the details, everything transports you. It matches the cuisine and elevates the entire dining experience. The waitresses are incredibly sweet, respectful, patient, and kind. They answered all of my questions about the menu without hesitation and made sure we felt comfortable. The service feels authentic and attentive without being rushed. I ordered the boneless chicken with vegetables, fried rice, and egg rolls. The homemade egg rolls are always my favorite. You can absolutely tell they're hand rolled and not pulled from a freezer. The boneless chicken is made with hand cut chicken breast, and the batter is soft and flaky. It almost melts in your mouth. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The portion sizes are generous. It's definitely a eat now, eat later, and maybe even share with a friend kind of place. If you've only ever ordered takeout from here, you are missing half the experience. Sit down inside and take it all in. It's one thing to eat Chinese food. It's another thing to feel like you've been transported while doing it. This place leaves an impression.

The restaurant looks like it's straight out of China, one of those spots where you already know the food is about to slap just from walking in. Food: We ordered the combination fried rice, sweet and sour fried fish, handmade egg rolls, and an order of Cho's, and everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The combination fried rice was packed with meat and shrimp, well-seasoned, and not greasy. The sweet and sour fried fish was crispy on the outside and tender inside, with a perfect balance of sweet and tangy sauce. The handmade egg rolls were a standout, crispy, flavorful, and clearly made in-house, not frozen. The Cho's were also delicious and added a nice variety to the meal. Portions were generous and very satisfying, making it a great lunch spot if you're hungry. Service: The waitress was attentive and friendly, checking on us regularly and making sure everything came out quickly and correctly. The service felt genuine and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Ambiance: The restaurant has a very authentic, no-frills Chinese restaurant feel. It's simple, clean, and comfortable. the kind of place you go for good food, not fancy décor. It felt relaxed and perfect for a casual lunch with no rush. Overall: This spot is a hidden gem for real Chinese food. Great portions, bold flavors, and friendly service made for a solid lunch experience. If you're looking for authentic-tasting Chinese food that hits the spot, this place is definitely worth checking out. I'll be back to try more items off the menu.

It took a while for our servers to find us and when our orders were put in it took over an hour to deliver two dishes. We had to remind them and ask them multiple times when our meal would come. We were met with the response that the large event would take priority over our meals. This wasn't my fav response because it just seemed that if you have an event going on, there would be other staff to take care of their food. The wait time was really disappointing. The black pepper tofu was quite good and the lemongrass tofu was decent but would prob not get it again.
