Sautéed green beans

Okay first of all 10/10. Everything and I mean everything was absolutely delicious. The service was phenomenal and they made sure we were more than pleased. Definitely in my top 3 for Chinese food now! Me and my fiancé have already made plans to go back this Sunday!!

Thai BBQ Chicken w Pork Fried Rice

I would like to say I'll be back, because I love to support local, but I won't. Small location in a strip mall. I've been trying to visit but always miss the hours they are open. Finally snagged an early (10:15A - they open at 10A) Tuesday lunch. A couple of customers who appeared to be towards the end of their meal. Otherwise restaurant not busy at all. Took a seat and finally got up to review the pictures on the wall since I wasn't greeted. A lady in the kitchen noticed me and brought me a menu and the canned soda I ordered. Very little English spoken. Ordered a simple lunch special of Thai BBQ Pork with fried rice. 30 min later I'm getting antsy. 40 min later I hunt down the lady (who is in the kitchen) and inquire on my food. I'm told it is almost ready. I ask them to make it to go, since I am about to be late for an 11:30A meeting. 7 more minutes and I am checked out and on my way home. Good taste, ample portions but threw out leftovers; did not seem to be a meal that was going to reheat well. $2 soda, lunch special, with tax $16.46.

This is a great place to get Chinese food on the westbank. There was a lot of seating space and inside was very clean. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Potstickers and Thai Tea

Walking into Hawaii City about 15 minutes after they opened was like stepping into a warm hug. We were greeted by a kind gentleman, later revealed to be the owner, who set the tone for what would be an unforgettable experience. Menus in hand, he encouraged us to take our time reviewing, and his attentiveness was a standout from the jump. We kicked things off with two Thai teas, fried potstickers, combination lo mein, and the highly anticipated salt and pepper chicken (yes, the TikTok-famous one from FoodieWithTheBooty). Let me just say, the attention to detail here is unmatched--when he asked if pork potstickers were okay, I really appreciated the thoughtfulness and awareness. Major points for that! First up: the potstickers. Fried to golden perfection, each bite was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired with a sauce that had us guessing (fish or oyster-based?) but never questioning how delicious it was. The Thai tea followed, slightly warm at first (they had clearly just made it), but with enough ice to cool it down--it was fresh and fabulous. Then came the combination lo mein, and let me tell you, this dish came to slay. Packed with jumbo shrimp, marinated pork, tender chicken strips, and crunchy bean sprouts, this wasn't your typical lo mein. The noodles were unique--different, but they WORKED. Every bite was a perfect balance of protein, noodles, and flavor. No condiments needed; it was goodddttttt on its own! Finally, the pièce de résistance: the salt and pepper chicken, affectionately dubbed by the owner as "The Star of the Westbank." And honey, no lies were told. It arrived fresh out of the fryer, steaming hot, with a warning from the owner himself not to dive in just yet (another plus--he didn't want my son burning his mouth). Once we managed to be patient, it was worth every second. Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and topped with jalapeños and garlic garnishes that elevated every bite. My son went full "Asian style" with it--he left no evidence it was ever chicken! Beyond the food, the customer service was 100 stars and priceless. The owner's warmth and genuine care made us feel valued and important--not just another table. To the owners: you deserve all the recognition coming your way. You've created something special, and I'll recommend this gem to anyone who will listen. Great flavors, clean establishment and service that feels like family--Hawaii City has earned a permanent spot on my foodie favorites list. Thank you for an unforgettable meal!

Family owned restaurant with really good food at a good price. Friendly staff with good size portions. Nice & clean inside

Mongolian Beef ($18.00)

Don't let the outside and inside decor fool you... this place is a hidden gem! Although the decorum is very plain, everything was still clean and the service was very nice. We ordered the Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings ($13.99) & the Mongolian Beef ($18.00). The Mongolian Beef was good and tender, but the Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings were the main highlight. The portions were huge and the crispiness of the wings were perfect. I'd give this restaurant another try. Like I said earlier, don't let the outside of the restaurant cloud your judgement. Definitely a "hole in a wall" but in a good way!

Glad to see that there are other options for more Authentic style Chinese food. So far my favorite is the beef chow fun. The salt and pepper chicken wings are okay too. Misses: Salt and pepper squid--I've had it twice and I feel like it's pretty inconsistent. The batter was a little bit different today--the thick batter made the squid a kind of gloopy. I'll probably go back to try a few other items just to see how they are. The owners seem pretty nice and friendly, which is always a plus.

I ate most of it before I got the pic lol

The service is great! But the food is even better! I had the Mongolian beef and short ribs... they're both deliciousssss!!! 10/10 would recommend!!

Places always clean service is always friendly. I always get the salt and pepper chicken wings with the pork, fried rice and order of potstickers.

These chicken wings are to die for! My entire family love their wings. We would always order a tray of these wings because of how fast they disappear in mg family. The service is amazing. The guy that works the cashier, who is also the owner, is so sweet and friendly. He would definitely drag a convo! We absolutely love and adore this place.

Fried pork chops

Hidden gem!! I've been to a lot of Chinese restaurants on the Westbank, and this one is by far the best! The service was amazing, food was delicious, and it was so quick! The fried udon were the best noodles I've had anywhere.

My last visit I ordered dinner for the family and we all shared the dishes. Everything taste fresh and every bite had my tongue dancing with flavor.

The name may have shortened, but the experience is still just as memorable. From the outside, you're not really sure what you're about to walk into. You get a hint of the Asian aesthetic, but you don't realize how immersive it's going to feel. Then you open the door. Right at the entrance is a koi fish pond with a small bridge over it. No, you can't walk across the bridge, but the koi are real, and you walk right by them on your way to the dining room. It immediately sets the tone. The dining room itself feels like you've stepped straight into China. The decor, the lighting, the details, everything transports you. It matches the cuisine and elevates the entire dining experience. The waitresses are incredibly sweet, respectful, patient, and kind. They answered all of my questions about the menu without hesitation and made sure we felt comfortable. The service feels authentic and attentive without being rushed. I ordered the boneless chicken with vegetables, fried rice, and egg rolls. The homemade egg rolls are always my favorite. You can absolutely tell they're hand rolled and not pulled from a freezer. The boneless chicken is made with hand cut chicken breast, and the batter is soft and flaky. It almost melts in your mouth. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The portion sizes are generous. It's definitely a eat now, eat later, and maybe even share with a friend kind of place. If you've only ever ordered takeout from here, you are missing half the experience. Sit down inside and take it all in. It's one thing to eat Chinese food. It's another thing to feel like you've been transported while doing it. This place leaves an impression.

The waiter came and took our order and the food came out quickly. There's a lunch special between 1-4pm, so we opted to try the beef cubes, fried chicken, fish, and kung pao chicken. It also comes with a gigantic egg roll filled with meat and veggies, a bowl of egg drop soup, and fried rice. It's a huge dish for a lunch special plate. Everything was delicious, but the kung pao dish and egg rolls didn't taste as authentic. We enjoyed our meal here and would come back and try different dishes next time. It took a while for our servers to find us and when our orders were put in it took over an hour to deliver two dishes. We had to remind them and ask them multiple times when our meal would come. We were met with the response that the large event would take priority over our meals. This wasn't my fav response because it just seemed that if you have an event going on, there would be other staff to take care of their food. The wait time was really disappointing. The black pepper tofu was quite good and the lemongrass tofu was decent but would prob not get it again.
