This food is not good to me. I got two orders of large house fried rice and the egg roll combo. There was no shrimp in the egg roll and barely any pork. The house fried rice was over cooked and gummy and just had zero flavor. There was barely any meat whatsoever in the rice and that's a big deal for me. My favorite house rice is served at Empress of China but they're closed on Monday's. I only stopped by here because so many people were going in and out and so it pique my interest. Lesson learned, a steady customer flow doesn't equate to good food. Service was meh, typical for most Chinese places and not always the best but decent. There isn't any "ambiance" but you can have a seat and dine in with a purchased drink and perhaps enjoy for your meal. My food was underwhelming at best. I won't be returning. This place is good! Average Chinese if that's what you're looking for! They left my crab rangoon in a little too long but lucky I like my food crispy! I also got fried rice instead of white, which is what's stated on my order.... most wouldn't see a problem with that but I LOVE white rice w pretty much any meat, not fried. The food ends up being too savory or too salty with salt on salt to me. The steamed dumplings are yummmyyyy but those are really hard to screw up! OKAY YALL!! New to the city and looking to rebuild my repertoire of food spots. I ordered this for lunch after debating for a while. I got the orange chicken which came with fried rice, lo mein and AN egg roll. It was so fresh and tasty but maybe that's because I ordered as soon as they opened. The best part of this was the HUGE portion sizes which can not be undervalued. The damn egg roll was about the size of 5 small ones. I actually saved that one for way later because it was just that much food in front of me. I think for my meal i paid about 20 bucks without the delivery fee on Doordash. I'm sure there's cheaper Chinese food somewhere around but for the flavor, portion, freshness I will definitely make this my go to spot on this side of town. and Kudos to them for packing napkins, utensils, sauces, menu and fortune cookies. 'China Kitchen' does not list all the ingredients to the items they serve. This could have potentially been fatal to someone like myself who was just trying to order a simple Chicken dish. The accompanying Entree's I ordered barely had enough food in them to cover the bottom of the Serving container. When you serve food with potential allergens in them it is a Health Hazard that needs to be posted of all ingredients in the food. When I called and spoke with the Manager I was told it was my fault that I should have said I was allergic to Shellfish when I ordered the Beef LoMein and Chicken Sesame. I really only come for the General Tso's bc it's the best I've ever had, but I'll usually get some other stuff just to try it out. Shrimp with garlic sauce - it was kinda sour? Maybe it's supposed to be like that, but idk. I didn't like the tanginess. Has a good amount of veggies with it, too. Pork Lo mein - I think I'm just used to really greasy Chinese food that's why I didn't think this was all that. It was kinda dry and bland, but soy sauce fixed that. BBQ ribs - I got a small and they really give you a lot. I don't know if y'all know what banh bao is, but it tastes like the BBQ pork they use in banh bao. Lol. Shrimp and broccoli has a brown sauce that congeals, fried rice has a weird sweetish/gravyish taste (though it was fresh), and the egg roll was soggy and had the same sweetish taste as the rice that I've never tasted in Chinese food before. There doesn't seem to be a big difference between lunch & combination plates. & special plates comes w house special fried rice an an egg roll. The fried rice is on point too! The house special fried rice has chicken (?), pork, & shrimp in it. I also tried the Phoenix & Dragon (12$) which is 1/2 General Tso's Chicken & 1/2 Shrimp tossed in some orange sauce w peas & carrots. It came with white rice & was okay. The Shrimp w Garlic sauce (8$) and Beef & Scallops (11.50$) are tossed with baby corn, onions, green bell peppers, mushrooms, & carrots. Both are good. I like the shrimp w garlic sauce better. & something has celery in it.. lol Shrimp w lobster sauce (9$). Is a little bland and is similar to soup mang cua (Vietnamese Crab Soup). It's toss with mushrooms, peas, carrots, & egg whites. While it may be bland, I actually like it a lot. I love the hot and sour soup! Though, I did order a large and they only gave me 1 bag of fried wonton. Other places give you 1 for a small (2.70$) & 2 for a large (5.70$) Duh! Crab Rangoon (5.75$) & BBQ ribs (6.75/10.95$) are delicious too. The eggroll that comes on the special combos have shrimp, pork, & cabbage in them. I haven't figure out what's the best way to order and get a good variety of everything. I've been ordering a special/combo dish and an entree size of whatever. Bill is usually around 30$. Manfriend and I can eat off of it for lunch & dinner. *NOTE* my food has never been packed w utensils. Unfortunately, that place is ALL the way in Kenner and I can't be driving all the way over there for some Chinese takeout unless I happen to be out and about. Around my area, I seem to occasionally look for that Chinese restaurant that I can go to nearby and get some, and I think I may have found the place! CHINA KITCHEN! This place makes you wanna be in the kitchen, wrist twistin' like it's STIR FRY! Migos would be proud to eat here! For the most part, I can't consider a Chinese place if they don't have fried chicken! That's what almost everyone thinks of! FRIED CHICKEN AND RICE! I ordered their 6 piece chicken wings and replaced the fries with shrimp fried rice for just $7.50! Can't be turning down a deal like that. My girlfriend also ordered chicken lo mien and a small egg drop soup. Altogether, it came out to be about $18.50. Pretty inexpensive and it filled us both with a bit of leftovers to save for the next day. Their chicken wings are good sized and not too greasy! Their shrimps are not the disappointing mini shrimps the size of your pinky nail either! It's good sized shrimps. The egg drop soup is standard like everywhere else, and their lo mien isn't dry and had a great balance of salty on it. Was NOT disappointed here! I recently moved here and it was the only place on Uber eats that seemed appealing. The first time I ordered fried wings and rice and they were really good ! Fried good crunchy and juicy not dry. However, the crab Rangoon's were a miss unfortunately the "crab" part is missing and the cream part was a little on the sweet side. The next time I ordered house fried rice, house mei fun and mandarin chicken. The fried rice is amazing, mei fun was delicious as well my first time trying it. The only thing is I ordered mandarin chicken and I got these katsu chicken looking strips with a weird cup of gravy. I'm not sure if that's their version of " mandarin " or if the gravy is for the mei fun. I did put the gravy on the mei fun and it tasted like it goes together. We ordered the orange chicken, general tso's chicken, fried rice and crab ragoon. Everything was very good and the general tso's was probably the best I've had. Even though they are marked "spicy" we really didn't find the heat bad at all. My only complaint is that most of the dishes come with plain white rice and they do not allow you to substitute with fried rice. Other places we've been to will usually allow it for a small up charge. So we had to order the chicken as entrees (came with broccoli) and add a large order of fried rice separately which increased the bill. We did take-out but there is a small dining area consisting of 2 tables and 3 booths. Place looked very clean and updated. Very different look from when China Joe's was there. Can't ask for much. The price are fair. Can't complain since it's typically under $10 per person. I eat here once a month and only a few let's downs from time to time but the price point and the order speeds makes it more appealing to me. I typically phone in my orders and the food is hot and ready within 10mins. My two go to items is the General chicken and the chicken wings. This is an OK stop if you happen to be really hungry for Chinese and don't want to drive very far. It's clean enough and the customer service is decent. Their home made plum sauce is good as in their home made mustard. They are not bad but they are not that good either. You can get better versions of their foods in other restaurants. We ordered Mongolion beef (My go-to dish to test how a Chinese restaurant cooks). It's a simple, very basic dish that, if done well, can be amazing. But if done wrong, it can be horrible. Theirs was simply, ok. While the portion for 10.50 was large, it was, in all honesty, mostly onions. The meat was good but there wasn't 3 ounces of meat in the entire meal. We also got an order of Crab Rangoons. That's The Girly's pick for testing out a Chinese restaurant. Now we both know neither of those things are truly Chinese dishes, but they are great ways to test the food. These were sweet and had no crab flavor at all. They were not terrible, just not great. Attempt to UP-CHARGE without asking to the tune of $10 on a $30 order, until I called it out and the "owner" quickly tried to cover it up treating me as if I was stupid...completely talking to me as if I should be grateful for this HORRIFIC service. Upon placing my order for delivery, the man on the phone who later when he wanted to debate for literally 5 minutes what Chow Mein is and telling me what he sent was it...even though if you do a simple search online for Chow Mein the 1000's of images reflect exactly what I asked for...which is NOT what they sent. So I place the order from the online menu and when the total came up the math just did NOT add up...if this didn't happen today I would've completely forgot that this exact same type of THEFT by overcharging happened the very last time I ordered...
