    Generous amount of wanton soup

Best wonton soup i've had in a minute!!! General Tso chickens sauce was good but you can tell it's not quality chicken when you bight into it. Tyson chicken vibes. Vegetable rice is so bland I honestly ate it with my chicken so it would taste better. Spring rolls were recent. Will return for the soup but probably nothing else I ordered. I've heard good things but maybe i need to try something else. Ordered takeout.

The food is very very flavorful. I'm a huge fan of Chinese foods. The service was fair.

My entire order in the garbage.

I am so confused by the 5 star reviews. Read my very honest review below. I ordered through DoorDash. Food came piping hot, on time, and I was excited to eat. I ordered the following to share with my children and family: mandarin chicken, egg rolls, beef with broccoli, egg drop soup, steamed rice, crab rangoon, and shrimp fried rice. did not receive white rice as requested but they gave me chicken fried rice and it tasted like soap. The rice was dry and the dish had no flavor (other than soap). the egg drop soup had a good amount of egg but again flavorless the mandarin chicken did not have a good flavor. I could tell it was mostly dark meat flattened and fried. The sauce that came with it was not pleasant. beef with broccoli was questionable flavor. Perhaps by this time of trying the food my palate was already turned off by everything. Broccoli was ok and still had some crunch which is appreciated but the sauce and dish collectively did not have a good flavor. I know great Chinese food. egg rolls also horribly tasting. It tasted like it was previously over frozen and then fried. the only decent and edible part of my order was the crab rangoon. It wasn't that great but at least edible. The almost $60 worth of food went right to the garbage. I would not serve it to my children or husband or even the community fridge. No human should be served this subpar food. Americanized Chinese Mall food tastes better than this. The food being served at this establishment is NOT CHINESE FOOD. Please review your ingredients and business practices. Something is very off about the flavors and this food should not be allowed for sale. Please do better.

Sezchuan tofu and veggies (great) amd veggie fried rice (bland).

I would do 3.5 if that was an option. I ordered take out through uber. Delivery was prompt and the food was hot. The spring rolls were very good. The hot and sour soup was the second best I've had in New Orleans (Xian Din is the best). There were some chewy bits in there, maybe galangal root? Otherwise it was super delicious, light, spicy, and filled with mushrooms. The Sezchuan tofu and veggies were on point. Sweet, spicy, and perfectly cooked--including the tofu, which is often too mealy. I would order all the above items again. However, the fried rice and lo mein were somewhere between passable and bad. The fried rice was yellow, like Mexican rice. It had canned peas and carrots in it and was basically flavorless. The veggie lo mein only had pea pods and no other veggies. It was also extremely bland. I would definitely not order these staples again. Next time I will get two veggie dishes and call it a day!

Honestly, not the biggest fan of fast food Chinese, but this place was so good! The general tso is very tasty. I'm not the biggest fan of Lo Mein, but the one here is yum! The staff are really nice and accommodating. With covid, the dining area is currently closed, but take out is lit. Look at the pictures, the portion sizes are huge and very affordable! This gem is tucked in a strip next to Smoothie King. Came here after a workout for something quick since we were hungry!!!

Nice service, but the food wasn't all that great. Not worth the price. Fried rice is yellow, and flavorless.

Rather than pursuing a burger, I decided to try this well regarded Chinese restaurant across the street from my hotel. This review is based on one item I got for takeout: Szechuan Beef. I am never one to equate quantity with quality. I'm also not well-versed in authentic Chinese. I'm mostly familiar with American Chinese. I ordered Szechuan beef expecting a dry stir fry of beef strips tossed with dried Szechuan peppers. Instead I got a 1 quart container with a zesty, moderately spicy broth loaded with tender strips of melt-in-your-mouth beef. This was pure heaven, and was an explosion of tangy flavor. The quart could've easily served a family of 4. That would just require another side of rice. This was just outstanding! The restaurant was compact yet inviting and service was great. I placed my takeout order on site at the counter, but they have table service.

I have worked in China on and off for years and have eaten many varieties of hot pot in China and Taiwan. This one was ridiculously bad. Like they dont even know what hot pot is. The sweet waiter tried to explain the concept of hot pot, but it was clear that he was not familiar with the real thing. It was cubes of chicken, celery, tomatoes and peppers in a lukewarm broth. Took forever to get hot enough to cook our extra vegies. The vegies didn't look fresh. There were no a la cart sauces. The waiter pointed to the soy sauce and chili oil that were for dumplings and told us that sauce doesn't go with hot pot. My advice is to go to the other Dian Xin where there is no hot pot but the food tastes authentic.

This week I wanted to visit spots successfully catering to locals and stumbled upon this tiny neighborhood hidden gem. Hidden because one would have easily missed it repeatedly when driving (or walking) past since the whole exterior was so unassuming at first glance. It only showed up on my radar when I meticulously searched for seafood spots on different platforms and randomly stumbled on their Facebook page. Best boiled crawfish and shrimp it said. Always fresh it exclaimed. Decently priced it stated. Well, this I had to go see it for myself and put to test. This was obviously a detour from my planned R&D in NOLA but was definitely a spot that must be designed for locals (and random tourists like me). This was confirmed immediately when I stepped in to see a long line of construction workers from the nearby site picking up lunch and some young kids digging into bags of shrimp and crawfish in utter delight. While looking at their sharpie streaked menu, I noticed quite a number of customers striking up conversations with the lady behind the plexiglass like long lost friends as they too picked up food to-go. Yeah, definitely a local friendly spot. Shrimp and crawfish by the pound was CHEAP in comparison to all the places in the area I've been. The best part? After getting back to the AirBnB, I realized just how good and fresh the seafood was! Succulent, very well seasoned, and not severely overcooked (like some spots around here prefer to serve it). I could taste the spices and aromatic vegetables used in the boil and found each bite absolutely tonguegasmic. Came for a pre-lunch snack and now back for a pre-dinner snack. Both the lady and gentleman had a smirk and muffled giggle as they saw me again. "You like it?" No, I love it. I'm here for a week and I'll be back every day you're open until I fly out of here. Take my money and give me thy awesome shrimp!

On our walk from hotel to Walmart, my husband and I stumbled across this little spot. A quick Yelp…read moreand Google check showed great reviews, and even though the photos looked pretty simple, we decided to give it a try. Sometimes that's just how travel works and you cross paths with unexpected gems. The owner and his family couldn't have been nicer. This place has been around for over 30 years, a mix of convenience store and local eatery. The owner, an older Asian gentleman, warmly asked me and my husband where we were from as soon as he saw us. We think maybe because there aren't many Asian in the neighborhood and it instantly felt welcoming and we started to chitchat. His son was helping in the kitchen that day, and the guy taking our order (super friendly, too!) turned out to be his son-in-law, just stopping by on his day off. This place is small but we could tell most of the steady stream of takeout customers were regulars. We ordered about $50 worth of food: * C2 Fried Chicken (10 pcs) - $11.99 * P6 Shrimp Po'boy (12") - $5.99 * P8 Catfish Po'boy (12") - $7.99 * R5 Cajun Gumbo - $8.99 * Two cans of drinks It felt special that on our very first day in New Orleans, we got to try two of the city's most iconic dishes: Gumbo and Po'boys right here in this humble neighborhood spot. The fried chicken was super crispy, the Po'boys were packed with filling, and the gumbo was flavorful without being overly salty. We couldn't finish it all, so the leftovers became our breakfast the next morning. The shop itself is nothing fancy, just two folding tables and a few chairs but the food and the warmth of the people made it one of those memorable stops that really stick with us. We actually came back on our last day in New Orleans and wanted to try the Yak-Ka-Mein Soup which was recommended by the owner but it was closed on Memorial Day:( I guess we will save it for our next visit. If you ever find yourself in the area, I'd highly recommend trying their food. T&T Seafood & Po-Boys 548 Jackson Ave, New Orleans, LA 70130
