We ordered delivery from Uber eats and we're sorely disappointed. On Uber Eats this place is listed as one of the best. Overall. the average of three stars on Yelp is far more accurate. I believe there's a reason that the owner hasn't claimed his yelp page. simply put, they don't want to know what people think. The general tso was a bizarre heavily breaded plate of shrimp. The breading was so heavy that you had to pick it off to find the shrimp which were then drastically overcooked. Wish I had taken a photo of this takeout. Since moving to Nola 2 years ago from NY we had not been able to find "our" Chinese takeaway. This is it, and it's better than our NY favorite. We ordered the Mongolian beef (absolutely insane) it was tender and flavorful and loaded with veg &flavor. We also got the orange chicken which was the most citrusy orange chicken I've ever had - and the breading was light (not that clunky type you get normally) and retained its crispiness for hours. The egg rolls were awesome, we got one chicken and one pork. Both were excellent; but if I had to choose it would be the pork - meaty and crispy. Lastly, the pièce de résistance was the pork lo mein. The chew to the noodle, not overdone and soggy, absolutely divine. Salty and savory and the overall perfect accompaniment to the meal. Honestly it could stand alone as a full meal. This is the type of restaurant that makes you log in to yelp for the first time in 4 years to post a review. (But is also one I want to keep secret because it's too yummy!) Delicious. It's classic, greasy Chinese, which is just what I wanted that night. They had my delivery order out fast, and the sizes and prices were great! My friend was actually treating me to this order, and she was questioning whether the price was even right for so much food and kept telling me to order more. I discovered Green Tea on a dark, windy night before the hurricane. I wanted comfort Chinese food but also something that I could eat cold for leftovers if the power went out. From the moment I tasted their hot and sour soup, I knew I would be a Green Tea to go regular. The reason I like the hot and sour soup here is that it has a strong and savory broth that isn't crowded out by lumps of chicken or bamboo shoots. It has the right amount of everything. They deliver, which is a rare treat in the area, and you can order online for those days when you're trying to keep human interaction to a minimum. They have a wide selection of standard Chinese take-away fare, including individual portions as well as combination plates and lunch/dinner specials. But! They also have the "GT Way", which I love! You basically get to build your own entree from the ground up. Meat, sauce, veggies (of which there are many), preparation method, sides, add-ons. It's amazing. The portions are very generous and the staff is very accommodating with questions and special orders. As much as I love their take-away/delivery, I also love to eat in. The dining area is very comfortable, they have a few TV's to keep you entertained if you're dining alone, and they have a drink machine so you can keep yourself in fountain sodas the whole time. We ordered food here because I heard that it was good. We also ordered rice, soups, an egg roll and spring rolls. I also said how can you mess up rice and soups to my man. Guess what !?, they managed to. We ordered shrimp fried rice add chicken which we paid for. There were no eggs in the rice which are specified as an ingredient and we didn't have any chicken which we paid for. 2 duck sauces were included with an order that had a large rice 3 spring rolls and a large egg roll, not enough, to say the least. this used to be really good chinese food. they say that management didn't change, but the space has been cut in half and redesigned so it is more contemporary. the food does not have that same authentic flavor it used to have. it matters not what we had, none of it was anything to write home about. i will say that the beef is now cut MUCH thinner than they used to. the first plate it was so thin that it was hard and crispy. we complained and they did remake it, which we appreciate, but it just was not the same at all. service is good, staff is all very friendly and accommodating. management just needs to address the food. read more

They greet you when you enter and if you don't have a clue on what to order they have menus available and they'll give you time to look. I got the fried rice one time thar flavor was nothing to rave about, I usually get their chicken wings. Those things are my guilty pleasure. They come with a choice for French fries or rice or Noods. This place was great when it opened and made the effort to get Chinese food solely from Green Tea but the quality has gone down over time, 2-3 months. The fried rice today was stale if not hard to eat, the chicken was glued together like a brick by the sauce, and the chicken itself felt like a rock. However, the wonton soup was good. Love this place for what it use to be but just sad and disappointed for what it's become. This place has a lot of potential and when it first opened it had the best Chinese food in the city. I encourage management to reach out to me and I'm not looking for a freebie, I pay for my food. I just want good food.
