I love this restaurant for quick and inexpensive Chinese food takeout. They are located in an unassuming strip mall next to a Walmart, and from the outside it doesn't look like much. If you can overlook the lack of ambiance, you'll find that the food is actually quite good -- prices even better. The restaurant is run by a family, so don't be surprised if a child is taking orders when you call. This is a family establishment, which I can appreciate. I also like how they have the kitchen roped off with plexiglass, post covid. As far as the food goes, I really like it. They have some of the best egg rolls I've had in the area and their portions are big. I often spend about $30 on 8 egg rolls, 2 entrees and rice for a my family of four. We always manage to have leftovers. They may have changed ownership/management a few months back, so even though slightly different, the food is still amazing!

Pineapple chicken, pork fried rice and egg roll combo via Uber eats. What's the verdict? This shit is banging! Seriously everything was amazing. The egg roll was crispy, tasty and well made, I loved how there was less oil than traditionally is used. Clean Chinese food, not overly greasy. Delicious! I will order again.

I stopped here for lunch yesterday while I was at work. The reason I went here was because it was close to my job site and a friend had recommended this place. The Service was alright. The lady behind the counter was fairly friendly. Also the time it took from when I placed my order to when it was done was about 10 minutes. The food was pretty good. I ordered the sweet and sour pork combo plate. The sweet and sour pork was pretty good.Te shrimp fried rice that came with it was even better. But I felt the best Item was the egg roll. That egg roll was off the chain! What I really like about it is the fact that most of their combo plates are about $7.25. The decor is what you would expect in most Chinese take out spots, Simple and not lavish. They even have a few video poker machines if Gambling is your thing. This place also does delivery so keep that in mind if you live in the area. In short great chinese food at affordable prices. I will return!

This may be as good as it gets for Chinese in LA. I've tried a ton of chinese restaurants in and around New Orleans and it stops here. Located in a small strip mall next to walmart supermarket. It isnt in a congested area so it doesn't get much visibility. It looks like your typical chinese take out spot but bigger and cleaner. Even have 2 TVs to watch while you wait or dine. They have all of the staples and some dishes I havent seen. The food is consistently good. Orange chicken, general's chicken, sesame chicken, hot and spicy shrimp. Never greasy always hot and fresh. The combo plates are cheap. $7? While it isnt a TON of food like some chinese places, it is plenty of food. I never finish my whole plate. It comes with shrimp fried rice and an eggroll. If you eat in, food comes on real plates with real silverware. No styrofoam containers here. The food and service here is better than most sit down chinese restaurants I've been to in New Orleans. This place could eaisly take down some of the bigger boys in town (not so happiness...I'm looking at you). Very good food. Inexpensive. Clean. Fast. Friendly. If it has the decor, it would have it all. They deliver too! Try the hot and spicy shrimp. Very good. Like sweet and sour but spicy, with onions, peppers, and zucchini.

Chicken teriyaki doesn't come with sauce. I asked if I can have a side of the sauce so I can pour it over and she said no.

This food was nasty!!! Had it delivered and threw most of it away after opening the boxes. Lots of mystery meats in there.

I remember when this place used to be called Christine's Empress of China. I believe Christine was…read morethe owner back then, and now it's simply Empress of China. The name may have shortened, but the experience is still just as memorable. From the outside, you're not really sure what you're about to walk into. You get a hint of the Asian aesthetic, but you don't realize how immersive it's going to feel. Then you open the door. Right at the entrance is a koi fish pond with a small bridge over it. No, you can't walk across the bridge, but the koi are real, and you walk right by them on your way to the dining room. It immediately sets the tone. The dining room itself feels like you've stepped straight into China. The decor, the lighting, the details, everything transports you. It matches the cuisine and elevates the entire dining experience. The waitresses are incredibly sweet, respectful, patient, and kind. They answered all of my questions about the menu without hesitation and made sure we felt comfortable. The service feels authentic and attentive without being rushed. I ordered the boneless chicken with vegetables, fried rice, and egg rolls. The homemade egg rolls are always my favorite. You can absolutely tell they're hand rolled and not pulled from a freezer. The boneless chicken is made with hand cut chicken breast, and the batter is soft and flaky. It almost melts in your mouth. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The portion sizes are generous. It's definitely a eat now, eat later, and maybe even share with a friend kind of place. If you've only ever ordered takeout from here, you are missing half the experience. Sit down inside and take it all in. It's one thing to eat Chinese food. It's another thing to feel like you've been transported while doing it. This place leaves an impression.

The restaurant looks like it's straight out of China, one of those spots where you already know the food is about to slap just from walking in. Food: We ordered the combination fried rice, sweet and sour fried fish, handmade egg rolls, and an order of Cho's, and everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The combination fried rice was packed with meat and shrimp, well-seasoned, and not greasy. The sweet and sour fried fish was crispy on the outside and tender inside, with a perfect balance of sweet and tangy sauce. The handmade egg rolls were a standout, crispy, flavorful, and clearly made in-house, not frozen. The Cho's were also delicious and added a nice variety to the meal. Portions were generous and very satisfying, making it a great lunch spot if you're hungry. Service: The waitress was attentive and friendly, checking on us regularly and making sure everything came out quickly and correctly. The service felt genuine and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Ambiance: The restaurant has a very authentic, no-frills Chinese restaurant feel. It's simple, clean, and comfortable. the kind of place you go for good food, not fancy décor. It felt relaxed and perfect for a casual lunch with no rush. Overall: This spot is a hidden gem for real Chinese food. Great portions, bold flavors, and friendly service made for a solid lunch experience. If you're looking for authentic-tasting Chinese food that hits the spot, this place is definitely worth checking out. I'll be back to try more items off the menu.

The waiter came and took our order and the food came out quickly. There's a lunch special between 1-4pm, so we opted to try the beef cubes, fried chicken, fish, and kung pao chicken. It also comes with a gigantic egg roll filled with meat and veggies, a bowl of egg drop soup, and fried rice. It's a huge dish for a lunch special plate. It took a while for our servers to find us and when our orders were put in it took over an hour to deliver two dishes. We had to remind them and ask them multiple times when our meal would come. We were met with the response that the large event would take priority over our meals. This wasn't my fav response because it just seemed that if you have an event going on, there would be other staff to take care of their food. The wait time was really disappointing. The black pepper tofu was quite good and the lemongrass tofu was decent but would prob not get it again.
