Ordered through Uber Eats so I don't know how the service is but the food is delicious!! It's been a while saw since I've had Shrimp Egg Foo Young done right! It was piping hot and fresh, not over cooked (the put the gravy on top instead of the side which is a first; but at least you have enough) the only complaint I have is that it didn't come with napkins or utensils; but thank goodness I had some in my desk. I can't wait to try the other menu items read more

I love this spot. Great real Chinese food. It's rare that I can get real good Chinese food, especially in this city. The servers liked that I didn't order off the American menu as well and I felt like they were more attentive to me. Great portions as well and everything was delicious. It is in a cute small homely spot as well. Takes me back to living in California. Definitely reccomend going for real Chinese food. read more

The restaurant was not busy. The service was horrible. Took her 15 mins to come take our order, 30 for white rice, fish maw soup, lomein, beef Sizzling and 40 mins for crispy scallops! We left after 1 hour..still waiting for our last dish, salt & pepper squid. The server told us that we can pack it to-go. What made us even more upset is when the 2 other tables got all their food when they came in after us. Not once did she apologize for the wait. This is the worse experience! read more

Great food for your money. Food had great flavor Service was good. Can process to go orders! Well! read more

Service and food outstanding. Staff warm and friendly, but not overly so. Order from the Chinese menu. You usually have to ask for it.

Haven't been to this place since it was located on Robert Ely after Katrina. Noticed it only had 3 1/2 stars and I wondered why so I went in to give it a try. Now I know why. Didn't get a very warm welcome from the owner and the hot and sour soup. Was very sweet and not very hot and not at all sour the triple dragon was pretty good and the fried rice had whole shrimp which is very unusual so try and see what you think. Personally, I probably won't be back. read more

The amount of food you get is really two meals. I've tried several of their options and I've yet to make a bad choice. The service has been spot on each visit and while the decor is a bit dated, it is a fine overall experience. If they are available, get the dumplings. read more

I've tried and tried to give this local staple chances after its downslide following the move from Lakeview. The food today was inedible. Mandarin chicken had meat every different color pressed together. The rice was yuck. Egg roll old. read more

Hands down some of the best Chinese food I've had in the south. Very authentic taste. The salt and pepper jumbo shrimp were excellent. The eggs plant with salted fish was succulent and went very well with rice which was included. The dan dan mian had the perfect bouncy teeth noodles and excellent sichuan peppercorn numbing taste! Service was quick and attentive. read more

This is one of my favorite places to get Chinese food in town! The flavor is always amazing and the selection is great! The staff is always very kind as well. Authentic Chinese available. Lunches are reasonable priced and plentiful! Love me some special Duck.

Worst Chinese food that I've had! The general's shrimp appeared to be prefab, breaded shrimp that was deep fried. It looked like they just poured warm corn syrup over it. Trust me when I say it was inedible. I felt like it would make me diabetic to eat it. Nasty... read more

I don't have high expectations for Americanized Chinese food, so it's usually all pretty decent to me. However, China Rose is one of the best in New Orleans in my opinion! China Rose is consistently good and a little different from other area Chinese places. If you want Mandarin chicken, you can order Mandarin chicken, of course! But, they also offer items that are a little unique compared to other area restaurants. ( I think they also offer possibly a little more authentic dishes too!) One thing to keep in mind is that they close earlier than other Chinese restaurants in our area. The portions are fair and similar to the amount you would expect to get at a Chinese restaurant. They don't skimp on the meats either! Plus, I've never gotten a bite full of tendons and fat on their chicken dishes, so I'm always happy with the quality of their chicken. (I don't eat beef or pork too often, so I can't speak for those) When we get food from here, we always get the Singapore noodles. They're fantastic! The dish consists of thin curried noodles, which are not very saucy, but they're packed full of flavor! It has veggies and meat sautéed and mixed in as well. I suppose this is an Indian-Chinese fusion type dish, and it's pretty unique! It's also not a greasy dish, so I usually feel that it's a fulling, but lighter meal on the stomach. I highly recommend this one! We've tried a good number of their other dishes, and they've all been good, but I particularly like the shrimp with mixed vegetables as a combination dish platter. It comes with shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. It's shrimp and vegetables sautéed in a common savory sauce, just as the name would suggest. This one isn't very unique, but I like it! read more

Under rated Chinese restaurant. This is the closest to real Chinese food I have had in Jefferson Parish. This is definitely not your mall, chain, or local mom and pop in a strip mall Americanize restaurant. I ordered the combination fried rice, Kung Bo chicken, chicken Lo Mien and shrimp with garlic sauce. All were delicious and definitely unique to the restaurant types I mentioned above. It is definitely different for the American palate. I want to apologize for not including pictures. Definitely give this place a try and don't let the rating fool you. read more

The waitress was nice. She messed up when I asked for the sauce on the side for my sweet & sour chicken w/double shrimp fried rice. First the food wasn't hot. Chicken was dry and no flavor. Also, didn't have hardly any vegetables but two pieces of pineapple, one slither of bell pepper and one small carrot slither. The shrimp fried rice was bland with small shrimp. I enjoyed the music and the waitress. I believe Chinese Kitchen on Carrollton in New Orleans is #1 In Chinese food! read more

What a feast! I don't even think I listed everything that we ordered but everything out of the OG Chinese Menu (you might need to ask for it) was absolutely delicious). The staff was so nice and friendly, that when we started overfilling the table they would help us consolidate plates to make room for the more yummy things coming our way. Pretty quiet place, definitely recommend to invite friends to go with you to enjoy more food with! read more

Went there tonight to get my food that I ordered got all the way home and my order was wrong. I called and they argued with me over the phone some lady with red hair I had to drive all the way back just to be ignored for at least 15 minutes and then finally she just throws my food in the window and I told her she shouldn't be so rude and she didn't even answer me. I wish there was a better place to go around here not very happy with their service at all. read more

Incredible restaurant but it's hit or miss. The first time I ordered from there, Everything was excellent! Authentic menu and regular menu. A month or so later, I ordered from the authentic menu and items from the regular menu. Food was decent at best. I have ordered from there several times after and the food is mediocre. I keep thinking I'm going to get the same quality from my first experience and am always disappointed. The service and staff are very helpful and friendly. read more

My husband like this place but he only order 2 items from here. He likes the shrimp fried rice and bbq ribs. He does not try anything else. I asked for sesame chicken. My husband picked up the food and brought it home. The rice was fine but my sesame chicken was the worst sesame chicken I tasted. It was very dried and tough. The chicken was overcooked or either that, a customer probably didn't come pick it up and they decided to refried the chicken. The broccoli in the chicken looked old too. I didn't even eat half of the portion and threw the chicken away. read more

China rose is my favorite Chinese place in the city. They have two menus, one regular American Chinese menu and the other one is the Chinese menu. Food in the Chinese menu is slightly different and offers more items that are generally not seen at Chinese places. I am a big fan of their Singaporean noodles. The noodles are thin noodles with options of Chicken,Shrimp, Pork and Beef. It comes with a hint of curry spices and its perfect combination for me. I almost order it every time I go there. Another personal favorite dish of mine is Eggplant and Salty Fish. This is an amazing combination even thinking about it makes me want to order it. They use Asian eggplant and pan fry it with Salty fish pieces, which is one of the most delicious dishes i have tried here. I have tried their Lo mein, Chicken curry, General Tso chicken and they have always been great. I also want to give a shout out to the staff there. They have been super pleasant whenever we ordered to-go or dine there. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

We were a party of three dining there on Thursday, 17 July, and the waitress we had was extremely rude! She fussed over the told us it was not made us pay more! We could not believe the audacity and manager/owner Condones this! Being that I was with clients, I was extremely embarrassed . I take clients and family there often and will not be back. This situation is totally uncalled for and the service was absolute crap. read more

I hesitate to review this since I haven't ordered other than from the lunch specials. But everything I have ever eaten here was top notch. And the prices and service are both great. I have heard so much about the chef's menu that I need to come back and try it. read more

Woo! I'm the 100th review. China Rose has an authentic Chinese menu and Americanized Chinese menu, so you have to ask for the authentic menu unless you're Chinese. It's good to have an authentic menu and I wish they focused on that, but I know some people look for orange chicken and general tso's, so they have to compete with other businesses. My favorite off the authentic menu is the fish and pickle soup. The pickle slices give it a unique taste. This is what I crave if I'm feeling a little under the weather. The fried sliced beef is another favorite. The plus is that it's one of the only spots that serve authentic Chinese food, but I would give it a three overall in terms of flavors and service since I have had better. There's one lady that just ignores you sometimes, and there are two others there who are motherly. TLDR: the authentic menu has good options, easy parking and no wait because there's a lot of seating. read more

Authentic, delicious food. We've ordered from them several times in the last few months and have always enjoyed it. Don't miss the combo fried rice - yummy! The Szechuan Chicken is very good.
