S19. Hunan Beef AMAZING!! Fresh veggies, great flavor!
    Jenny B.

Let me just tell you... this was our first time trying this restaurant and had reservations as every Chinese place we have tried is pretty much sub-par. We did take out, highly recommend calling them (prices on DoorDash are significantly elevated -although convenient.) This place was AMAZING!! I am hoping this wasn't just a lucky coincidence... the food was fresh... I'm telling you the beef fried rice was fresh had egg, carrots, peas, and onion , the amount of tender beef was off the charts and again you could tell it was fresh because the egg was still fluffy. General Tso's chicken was great and served over steamed broccoli, and Hunan beef was also terrific as it came with fresh veggies to include the little corn, water chestnuts, button mushrooms (that weren't brown and soggy), carrots, broccoli, and peppers . My only slight complaint would be I'd have liked a bit more spice in the Hunan beef but I can ask for that, this was perfect for normal people. We will definitely be back! Thank you!!

They got my order wrong and the food was served at a nuclear hot temperature so I got to enjoy burning my mouth really well done. I ordered an egg drop soup but I got hot & sour soup instead. This joint is definitely focused mainly on being a carry out place and they only seem to offer a few tables and chairs that don't seem to get used much. Of course I decided to still try and eat inside but I still got everything served to me in carry out containers. Overall I think there are a LOT of better Chinese food joints in the area and I doubt I will be making a return visit here.

I got the shrimp fried rice. It was good and I would get it again. The shrimp were cooked beautifully and there were a lot. I can attest to someone else's review about it not being greasy. I don't detect any oil which I love. It was really clean on the inside and the staff was super friendly and the service was fast!

Foods good, lunch special is confusing as hell.
    Smiling J.

Foods good, lunch special needs a flow chart. Read the top carefully: Served with pork or shrimp fried rice, egg roll Choice of one wonton or hot & sour soup or egg drop soup & soda [or] With beef or shrimp fried rice or lo mein for $1 more. So.... get shrimp fried rice with no egg roll and it's $1 extra?

Minus the $1 coke this general Tso's plate was only $5.50 !!!!

I stopped by here around 2pm (after lunch rush) on a weekday after picking up a friend from the airport. The staff were so friendly and helpful even though we left a bit of a mess with the baby deciding to throw her food around after her belly was full. I apologize for the mess and thank you for taking care of us!!! I noticed the staff worked together as a team to take care of its patrons. We ordered the banh xeo- it was very crispy and full of fillings (bean sprouts, onions, pork, shrimp). The banh xeo itself had a noticeable sweet coconut taste which complemented the savory filings. The bun bo hue had a good spicy lemongrass flavor and the meats were tender and juicy. The lemongrass tofu vermicelli was also good! Meal portions were generous and we enjoyed all the food. Nudo is definitely worthy to be added to your list of lunch/dinner rotations. We had a great dining experience there and hope you do too!

Though I am…read morehappy to get a chance to be the first to review Vintage Garden Kitchen on Yelp, because this is an absolute *gem* of a business, and everyone in the world needs to know about it. Yesterday afternoon, I saw a tweet reminding people to place orders before 4pm, because today (Wednesday) is the day they deliver - yes, that's right, deliver! - their jars of amazingly delicious, healthy, vegetarian-friendly, locally sourced, and [insert list of superlatives and synonyms for the word awesome] soup. Straight from their garden, via the kitchen, to your door. Thanks to the reminder on Twitter, I placed my order online yesterday afternoon for four pints of soup: Fiery Shiitake Mushroom and Barley; Moroccan Chickpea Stew; Rustic Vegetable Bean; and Vegan Lentils and Greens. Each pint comes in a re-usable mason jar, and when you collect six of those, you get a free pint of soup with your next order! Brilliant: it's savvy (saves the business money), and green, and convenient. There's so much win here that I'm having a hard time putting it into words. Long story sort: The Vintage Garden Kitchen is an Arc Enterprises Company, meaning that not only do they provide amazing food (AND DELIVER IT TO YOUR DOOR!), but also, in doing so they provide employment for adults with developmental disabilities. (They're one of the businesses run by the nonprofit Arc of Greater New Orleans.) I've seen the garden where they grow all the food that is used to make these amazing soups, and it blows my mind that food this fresh, this nutritious, and this beautifully convenient is available in New Orleans. But wait, it gets better: their food is shockingly affordable. A half pint of, say, Moroccan Chickpea Stew feeds 2 people, and costs $4.99. The minimum order for delivery is $15, so for four pints I paid about $22.00, and it was delivered the very next day. How. Awesome. Is. That. Seriously. They deliver every Wednesday between 10am and 2pm, and orders must be placed before 4pm on Tuesday to ensure delivery. They deliver to 70001, 70005, 70115, 70118, 70119 (yay!), 70124, and 70125. Again, the minimum order for delivery is $15 (so, approximately three pints, or two quarts, blah blah math and stuff). They take credit cards, it's easy to place an order online, and you can also order in two other ways. Either pre-order for pick-up (and you can come get your soups between 8am and 4pm M-F), or if you don't want to pre-order, you can simply stop by during business hours. Walk-ins are welcome, too! So...yeah. Amazing, amazing, amazing. I'm so glad the Vintage Garden Kitchen exists. I highly recommend you give them a try. Then you, too, can write your very own rave review of this freaking awesome local business. Well done, Vintage Garden Kitchen. Well done. And THANKS!

The location is a little out of the way, on Labarre south of Airline Highway across the railroad tracks, but definetly worth the trip!!!!

His name isDRAKE This review is Definitely Not about the Food or the ambiance Both ranks very high in my book. I've been a faithful customer to this establishment as long as i've lived in New Orleans sometimes every day for lunch . We've moved to another state but trust me every-time I'm here i visit at least 5 x without hesitation for my Zea Ribs. Which brings me to my last visit on Friday evening Aug. 6th just after a long month spent in new orleans on business and again several visits to my Favorite Zea. My husband and myself decided to take in our last meal before heading back home we sat at the bar The bartender Drake was serving our party my husband and friend couldn't remember the name of the particular drink they'd had previously prepared by our regular bartender Jessica . I thought it was a pretty simple look at the last order on our tab to figure out what they were drinking.,,,,,,, They were trying to remember but Drake was becoming annoyed and angry by the minute finally he completely walked away and dismissed us totally. I was Flabbergasted ! He never came back or acknowledged our presence at the bar that's when i requested to speak with a manager whom accommodated us and spoke with us to rectify the situation but even as she was speaking with him we noticed how rude and abrupt his attitude was. Personally he should have been removed off the floor it cost nothing for kindness and to be courteous to all customers. Unfortunately Drake seems to need further training in customer service. For the future when i return to Zea if I see him at the bar I will definitely take my business where it will be appreciated. I will Not patronize where the staff has zero respect for the customer.
