Wok and Roll Xpress - A Hidden Gem Hiding in Plain Sight!…read more My wife and I have driven past Wok and Roll Xpress, located at 2101 Hall Johnson Rd., Grapevine, TX 76051, numerous times and wondered just how good this little place was. Well, folks, curiosity finally got the best of us, and today was the day we decided to venture inside and get our grub on! As luck would have it (no, not really ), Wok and Roll Xpress is tucked inside the Shell gas station. Before heading over, I called ahead to see if we could dine in, only to discover that this is strictly a takeout-only establishment. When we arrived, we moseyed on inside and found a small space with a counter for seating. Although the dining area is limited, everything appeared clean, neat, and well organized. First impressions? So far, so good! We were greeted by Mr. David, the cashier behind the counter, who was very welcoming and polite. After my wife looked over the posted menu, we were ready to make our selections. Here's what we ordered: E8 Honey Sesame Chicken - Tender chicken served with a sweet honey sauce and toasted sesame seeds. E10 Mongolian Beef - Deliciously seasoned beef with Mongolian chili sauce, white onions, and green onions. Both entrées came with brown fried rice. A1 Chicken Egg Roll - Because what's a Chinese takeout meal without an egg roll to complete the experience? Since everything was prepared to go, we headed home with our food. The good news? Our meals were still nice and hot when we arrived! Now, let's talk about the food! The Honey Sesame Chicken was tender, moist, well seasoned, and absolutely delicious. That sweet honey sauce paired beautifully with the toasted sesame seeds. The Mongolian Beef was another winner! The beef was well seasoned, and the chili sauce packed a bit of a spicy kick without taking away from the delicious flavor. And those chicken egg rolls? Delicious and well seasoned! The fried rice was also a tasty addition that rounded out both meals nicely. All in all, my wife and I were genuinely impressed with Wok and Roll Xpress. Sometimes the best discoveries are the places you've driven past time and time again without ever stopping to give them a try. Well, we finally did, and we're certainly glad we did! You better believe we'll be back! If you're in the Grapevine area and have a hankering for some tasty Chinese takeout, you might want to give this little spot a try. Until next time, folks, happy eating, and hope to see y'all there!

As you can see from the photo the soup was the saddest I've ever had, when he put it down in front of me I almost laughed out loud. The egg foo yung was decent, if I had another craving for it I would definitely get it here again, maybe without the pork next time. Fried rice was just rice with soy sauce. Inside is aged and you can tell it's been there awhile, server was competent but very taciturn.

Hell to the NO. I…read moreordered pickup from China Express and, unfortunately, this was a complete waste of my money. I'm big on getting what I pay for when it comes to food, and this experience missed the mark across the board. I ordered the General Tso's chicken extra spicy, two spring rolls, a beef egg roll, and fried rice. First, the General Tso's was nowhere near extra spicy. There was literally no heat to it at all. Instead, it was extremely sweet and tasted more like orange chicken than the General Tso's I was expecting. Then came the spring rolls. When I tell you these things were about the length of a Vienna sausage, I'm not exaggerating. Two tiny spring rolls for around $1.89 felt like a rip-off. The beef egg roll was another $1.89 for one and was about half the size of a regular hot dog link. On top of being small, it was bland. Even the fried rice portion was disappointing. It came in one of those traditional Chinese takeout containers, but basically the smallest size possible. What really sealed the deal was when I called after getting home. I wasn't even calling demanding a refund or trying to argue. I simply told them that, for future reference, my General Tso's wasn't extra spicy and tasted extremely sweet. The response I got was basically, "We forgot to make it extra spicy, but it's spicy." Okay... If you forgot to make it extra spicy, then just say that. There's no need to argue with a customer about what they're literally sitting there eating. Overall, this was a 1-star experience for me. Between the food, tiny portions, value for the money, and the response when I called, I wouldn't return. Save your money and your time. There are too many other Chinese food spots around DFW to feel like you got beat out of your money after dinner.

We were pursuing the mall food court after a long visit to meow wolf and deciding against the 2 hour wait at rain forest cafe. I came in expecting a thoroughly mediocre meal, but my eyes were instantly attracted to the peanut butter chicken on their menu. The dish was exactly what it sounds like, a ton of chicken and broccoli smothered in a delicious and spicy peanut butter sauce. The quality was as at the level of a stellar sit down meal, and came at food court prices. Any time I see a mall food court I'll instantly be transported to this meal and be sad I'm not currently eating it The made to order menu has a lot of interesting dishes that are far better suited to a traditional Thai restaurant than a mall food court, so I will absolutely be back here if I ever find myself at this mall again While I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and think it's a great value, I wouldn't make a trip to the mall just to eat here. It's a stellar option if you happen to be at the mall, but you can probably find similar quality Thai elsewhere in Dallas
