Mobile orders has made this place a pain. Used to be simple, go in, get food, move through line quickly. Now it takes 20-30 minutes just to get food that is already ready. I truly don't understand why you need mobile ordering for food that is already ready. Corporate must be pushing it incredibly hard but it is a nightmare for both the workers and the customers that show up. It seems very apparent that people in line are given less priority over online orders which is the opposite of what it should be read more

This review is for the location at the Irvine Spectrum. I wish there was a location closer to my house unfortunately this is the closest. Quality is horrible. I placed my order through door dash to avoid having to drive and park at the spectrum. However when my food arrived it was burnt and gross. I have attached photos. What upsets me the most is that I called 5x to try and speak with a manager and have it rectified. They never answered , so I drove there. Spoke with Marcos the manager and he never apologized or said anything. Even at one point telling me I can re pay if I want it fixed. I just went here to get dinner for my husband and daughter. We ordered chow mein and orange chicken.. we are used to them going light on the orange chicken. BUT we were surprised to see that there were hardly any noodles in the chow mein. It's literally all lettuce and onion with a small side of noodles. The plates aren't cheap and we weren't even able to finish our food. It was so gross. There should have been an equal portion of noodles and veggies. Instead I got a few noodles here and there. Decent American style Chinese food for a decent price. The portions for the entrees are a little small, but the flavor is good. It's not super traditional, with some of the dishes on the sweeter side, but if you want a quick bite of Asian food, it's pretty decent. read more

With all the choices in the spectrum, the kids still wanted Panda. Lol. It's not my favorite, so I just bought food for them. The honey walnut shrimp has an up-charge of 75c for the kids meal, so it makes it not a very good deal. Lesson learned, I will get a bowl (1item) next time. How difficult is it to cook rice you ask? Apparently very difficult . My fried rice was inedible. Half the rice was undercooked (Chinese rice isn't meant to be al dente) and the other half was mushy but it's fried rice so you can't just pick out the uncooked rice. Very disappointed. Man I don't know what is up with all these negative reviews because Panda Express is pretty hype. The line for this place gets pretty crazy during lunch time and not because the workers are slow but just because they a high volume of customers. There really are about only 5 cheap places to eat at Spectrum and this one is my favorite. Orange chicken is obviously their most popular dish, but their teriyaki chicken & broccoli beef are also pretty tasty. Have you ever been so disappointed that you lose your appetite. That's literally how I felt getting food here. The service was okay and it was fairly clear, I didn't think much of it because I personally like when the restaurants aren't packed and rowdy, but I didn't actually think there was a reason. There was no fortune cookie and portion size was something that not even my dog would eat and orange chicken was crunchy and that's about all that stood out to me. I don't know if one of the cooks was on break but he just kept hugging ! Yes I said hugging the other cook that was clearly still working . The poor girl called out Beijing beef I don't know how many times and the cook that was on break had said something to her that I couldn't hear but she had to go get the manager involved. I know what to expect at Panda Express so I don't complain the flavor, but I just compare the freshness, saltiness(I hate salty & spicy food - those give me pain and make me sweat and drink too much water so I can't eat more cuz too full), greasiness, serving amount, and services. Sometimes I just crave Orange chicken and chow mein, I just gotta have them just like the old days in college. That is why I keep coming back to Panda Express occasionally. I tried the surf n turf(two mini shrimps with 3 beef pieces and the rest is potatoes for an extra $1: Not worth it, plus its really salty), The Orange Chicken (always good), mushroom chicken, honey walnut shrimp for extra $1 as well, with brown rice and chow mein. Surf n turf beef meat is beefy paste cut into a square to look like beef steak, but it is not. Shrimp is way too small, rather get pepper shrimp or broccoli beef. An extra $1 is a rip off. Also it is too sautéed in sodium nitrogen so it is very salty and acidy. Honey walnut shrimp for an $1 more is definitely worth it. The server, "Jessa" wasn't paying attention to her customer when taking my order. She was talking to her co-worker and got my order wrong. Extra $1 items are not offered as samples. My server offered samples, so we asked for honey walnut shrimp then she said "That, we cant give you a sample." That is a ridiculous sampling rule here... Overall, I think the Panda Express in market place location taste better than here. Fried menus here are kinda soggier and flavors are saltier. read more

This Panda Express is honestly a mess. 9/10 times I order online there's a problem. the portion is consistently stingy. Sometimes I order ahead and they weren't ready when I came to pick up. I like this establishment because they are quick about your food! I just ordered online today and when I arrived to pick up, it was ready. 20 minutes time frame as it was a little after lunch time rush. The only thing I didn't like was the parking lol! Which is not their fault, but it's such a hassle when your starving! Another reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I feel like they give you such small portions for the amount of money you pay for 1 plate! This location is in the center of Spectrum and my little nephew loves having Panda so we come here. I have been getting the 2 item meal and on the Irvine company's app, I get a free entree as well. We usually get the white rice with all orders of chicken & green beans. My nephew only eats the chicken and I eat the green beans. Yes it's not the healthiest but he likes it and I love green beans. Since we usually end up with 3 orders of it, we get it fresh which is nice. I wish the white rice would be a bit more moist. 1/2 the time, it's dried out. What happened to Panda Express? Their food is not the same It tastes very artificial and their containers shrunk therefore their portions shrunk as their prices went up. We went in around 6pm and it seemed slow with only 2 people ahead of us but they did not have many choices for entrees and their chow mein was near the end. We waited 5 minutes for Orange chicken while our plate was getting cold. Their dining room was closed probably because they are understaffed and the staff they do have do not seem that they are too thrilled to be working there. This is probably my favorite Panda Express I have ever been to. They made my vegetables freshly steamed because I did not want that typical starch on it. They also made new chow mein at request for me. This is unbelievable service for a "chain" and I am super grateful as it's hard to find healthy and tasty food for under 10 dollars a plate. Panda Express is seriously better quality than many places I have been to for Chinese food and the bonus that not too many people know is that you can ask them to make new dishes for you on the spot (typically when it's slow or if you are okay with waiting a bit longer).
