I recently visited Panda Express at the Irvine Spectrum Center and was shocked by how small the portions have become. I ordered a 3-Item Plate, and it honestly looked smaller than what a 1-Item Plate used to be. The portion sizes across the board were extremely disappointing. The Orange Chicken was mushy and soft instead of crispy and fresh. The Beef & Broccoli contained only three small pieces of beef with mostly broccoli. I also paid the additional $1.95 upgrade for the Cantonese BBQ Brisket, and the portion was so small it was hard to believe. To make matters worse, the brisket was dry and lacked flavor. Even the rice portion was noticeably smaller than what Panda Express used to serve. I understand that food costs have increased and prices have gone up, but charging more while serving a fraction of the food customers used to receive is not acceptable. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling ripped off. There are plenty of restaurants offering better quality food, larger portions, and enough leftovers for a second meal. If Panda Express continues reducing portions while raising prices, they're going to lose loyal customers like me. Very disappointing experience. read more

1 star. This was a really disappointing experience. The line was out the door, but there were only two employees working, one packing food and one on the register, so everything moved extremely slowly. When I finally got my food, both the teriyaki chicken and orange chicken were very chewy, and the portion size was just average. But the biggest issue was a serious one: after just two bites, I found several peanuts at the bottom of my container. I have a peanut allergy and had to stop eating immediately (thankfully I didn't have a reaction!). I specifically order the teriyaki chicken because it typically doesn't have sauce and is less likely to be cross-contaminated, so this was especially concerning. Cross-contamination like this is not a small mistake, it's a safety issue. Overall, I would not trust this location again. read more

Came in here tonight after getting a burger for my husband next door. For base, I got chow mein with steamed vegetables and for entrees, tofu eggplant and chicken breast with green beans. Went to try the new items on the menu. The Dynamite Chicken was definitely more spicy than the previous spicy items featured though it didn't really have much of a sweet and sour flavor. Pepper Chicken had really tasty chicken, but too much pepper. Overall, I would still prefer getting the regular offerings. Chow Main and Super Greens were good. The plate portion size was a good amount. Prices are reasonable, just slightly more than other locations in the area. This location can become very busy at certain times and online orders tend to be slower than usual. read more

Located in the Irvine Spectrum Center. They have tables inside,but it was full so I had to look for seating nearby. On a Saturday night seating was a little tough to find. Had to wait for a family to finish up to use a table. I placed my order on the app and then went inside to pick it up. I went in a little earlier than my quoted 20 minute wait time. There was a clearly marked pick up area. The cashier interacted with me and then went to work on the order since it wasn't ready yet . All of the lid holders in the drink area had some kind of fuzz or residue in the crevices. Yuck. Not appetizing. My meal was half fried rice, half regular rice, mushroom chicken, honey, sesame chicken. The white rice was crunchy and not soft . The honey sesame chicken was the better tasting of the two and I received more pieces of chicken in that serving. read more

Located inside the Irvine Spectrum mall, I've visited this location twice, and both times ended with some type of disappointment, first time, tried to redeem a birthday reward that was expiring but was unsuccessful, even though the reward didn't expire till the next day. Second time today, was missing the grilled chicken teriyaki in a takeout mobile app order that we had to wait cause the order wasn't ready. Although it's relatively spacious inside, it seemed very hectic as people were trying to get their order in store and online order side was somewhat disorganized. Last time, I recalled someone's order falling on the floor off the counter due to it being very chaotic inside. The food itself tastes a bit greasy, and too oily but I suppose it is fast Chinese food. Try at your own risk and maybe just order in store if you're hoping to get your full order. read more

I'm somewhat shocked by the amount of negative reviews this location has. As Irvine residents, we visit the spectrum almost on a weekly basis and will visit this location for lunch or dinner once in a while. Each visit has been a positive one. Yes, the lines can get pretty long on weekends, but the lines does move pretty quickly considering the amount of guest and workers there are. Item proportions are generous and fresh. The restaurant isn't the biggest, but clean and spacious with plenty of seating outside. read more

I work for DoorDash and I had a pick here for a customer named Jared. This was on May 30 2026. When I got there the supervisor/manager asked " who are you here for? " I said " for Jared." Long story short she said " we never got that one." Eventually two more employees told me that they didn't have that order and I was at the wrong Panda Express. I knew I was at the right one though. I stepped out to call DoorDash support and 10-15 minutes I walked back in because the DoorDash agent said to hand my phone to one of the Panda Express workers. Then when I stepped in a worker handed me the DoorDash order for Jared. The supervisor/manager definitely had leadership and communication issues. It's okay though because she'll definitely ruin her life with that type of behavior she showed. She had a mean attitude too and wanted to argue with me. I hope she gets fired from her job. read more

My mother is a frequent customer and today not only did she get cut in line but she got served the wrong order AND had a white male yell racial slurs at her and told her to "speak English" while also calling her a "Latina B***" and more! The white male threw the largest tantrum and threw his food at the employees which then the staff started to throw food back and escalated the situation and nobody tried to apologize to my mother or deescalate. Store was busy, had no food ready, we had to wait for entrees, once they were ready they severed everyone else although we there first, after they ran out they said we have to wait again. They couldn't find one of our plates, they were not organized. So we asked for a refund, we received even more attitude from the workers, even from the manager. it really upsets me when I'm paying $30 to have this delivered and they can't even bother to put a spoonful of meat on there. There was like four pieces of broccoli and no beef. I got the two entree combo with double OC and half rice / half noodles. ***There is an extra charge for each order of beyond orange chicken, so for a two entree combo there are two charges. I'm not sure if I just remember it being better but I felt so uncomfortable after my meal. I had to drink tons of water to try to get the ick out of my system. The chicken was ok but the noodles and rice were so bland and heavy and greasy. I found myself wishing I had chosen the Chipotle across the way. The staff were nice, gave good portions, and line was long but moved quickly. This location is at the Irvine Spectrum so its best if you can find parking in that parking structure nearest that area. The general manager, Joss (Jocelyn), has the worst customer service EVER! I was trying to order for my kids so I asked her what the difference is between the panda bowl and a kids meal. (For example: portion, drink, etc.) She looked at me, bothered and appalled that I would ask a question, and said "One is a bowl and one is a meal". I was honestly shocked and baffled that I would be treated that way. Yes, it's Panda (not Mastro's) but still... customer service is customer service. When I realized that she was being rude, I said "Ookay, Never Mind I'll just read the menu." Then she walked away and started laughing and gossiping to a coworker. I heard her say "Can you take her order?" So you refuse to take my order because I ask questions? Isn't that why you are there, to help customers? I am honestly confused as to what I did to her for her to despise me for asking a simple question. It has been a while since I ate at the Irvine Spectrum location. Must say portions at this location are minimal at best. Most, if not all, Panda Express' I have been to pack the chow mein/fried rice. I understand the entree portions must be measured out by the specialty crafted spoons, that's acceptable. But HEY C'mon, let's not get cheap here and just measure enough chow mein of fried rice to be BELOW the level of the 2 entrees. Talking about the entrees: I had the String Beans Chicken and Beijing Beef. - The Beijing Beef was great, deep fried beef tenders, onions, & red peppers mixed with a chile sweet sauce that blended well. I loved it!!! 5-Star! - Can't say that for the String Bean Chicken. The string beans were still raw, not even soft or slightly crunchy, I mean "walking rare" raw. The oyster sauce mixed with tender pieces of chicken was flavorful & pretty good, but the string beans DEFINITELY need to be cooked LONGER. Sorry, a fail! 1-Star The staff are very nice, no qualms there. I give the staff 5-Stars. Overall, it's a 3-Star experience, "Just OK!" I might return to this location, but most likely as a last resort. Just to clarify, it is just THIS location I am rating & reviewing as other PE's I've visited usually score a 4-Star. Ordered from here from grub hub tonight, a bowl with double fried rice and honey sesame chicken. And this is what I got (see photo). It looks like I got a bowl that someone already ate. There's one normal size piece of chicken and a few small ones. Even the rice was only like one scoop and the entire bowl was half empty. Definitely not $12 worth of food in that bowl. I've ordered bowls before (in person) and it's usually over flowing.
