For once IG did not let me down and the hype is real!! Hands down the best chicken shwarma wrap and saffron rice I've ever had. We were greeted so kindly by Yurem, he's such a sweetheart and helped me patiently to navigate the menu as I was a first time customer. I added extra protein to my wrap and with all the toppings it was a devine experience. A huge shout out to Kevin, the chef for making the most delicious food. Both the chicken and beef shawarma are fantastic, seasoned right and not dry like most similar restaurants. Now a separate note about the rice, as a rice snob I need to stress how perfect this rice is, fluffy texture and the most perfectly seasoned and aromatic flavors. Truly the best rice I've had in any middle eastern restaurant. The falafels are cooked to perfection, very crispy exterior and soft and fluffy on the inside. Not oily, perfectly seasoned. This place is extremely solid and I do enjoy their wraps/bowls/plates. Their fries are always crispy and it add nice crunch (and carb) to the my bowls when I get the protein bowl. I really didn't want to write a review only because I had a bad order. However, in this age of inflation, to pay $6 for another protein and not receive it, really upsets me. I even checked my receipt and I added chicken shawarma to my bowl but they only gave me lamb. That really upsets me, especially when it didn't appear to be that crowded at the restaurant. I usually don't even check my order because I initially trusted this place. I would come back if I had a craving, however, I'd reconsider and have to check my order going forward, which is annoying. read more

I found myself in the area and looking for a quick meal but sadly The Kebab Shop found a way to screw up something as simple as rice. First let me say that their staff is AMAZING, they will go above and beyond to cater to your preference. However, the whole concept is just not vegan friendly. It's almost impossible to build a simple meal that does not include dairy without crazy customizations (and no, you won't be able to do it at the self service kiosk). The problem is that all their rice has dairy in it which pretty much limits you to salads and wraps. I hope someone sees this and learns from Zesty Olives in Laguna which is a similar concept. read more

I order take out from Kebab Shop quite frequently. Ordering online is super easy and fast. My go to is the Create Your Own Grains Bowl. You can make/customize your bowl exactly as you want it. The food is fresh and tasty and not overly priced at all. The delivery drivers from The Kebab Shop are super friendly and helpful and communicate well on their way to deliver. Yelpers let me down on this one! This place is a one and done for me. Kind of felt that I was ripped off tonight here paying $17.60 ( $18.96 with tax) for 5 small dried out pieces of chicken, brown rice and some vegetables. Like returning poor fitting underware wish I could return this meal and get my money back. I have dined at Panini across the street and for the same price the food is a world of difference, quality, and amount. You can fool me once but never again. This spot is located in the plaza across from the Los Olivos Marketplace where there is a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a good amount of seating and a clean setup. For their menu, everything is highly customizable. Wifey got the Beef Kofta Bowl and I got the Steak Bowl. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Okay, how exactly? lol While I did love my food, there were still some aspects of my visit that missed the mark that even if they want to make it right, I don't exactly know how they would. I was heading out of town for Memorial Day weekend, and I stopped by this Kebab Shop to redeem a $5 reward I got via text the previous day. I don't know what I did to earn that reward besides being a part of their rewards program, but it was only valid for a week. I made it a point to stop by The Kebab Shop in Irvine to redeem this reward. So there are actually three different locations in Irvine. This location is in the Los Olivos Marketplace on the southeast corner of Irvine Center and Research. It's just outside of Irvine Spectrum Center where the 5 meets the 405. The Kebab Shop is between Flame Broiler and So Gong Dong Tofu & BBQ. Parking isn't very plentiful directly in front of The Kebab Shop, but there are plenty more spots closer to 24 Hour Fitness. One thing to note is that when I exited my car, I noticed some faded verbiage on the pavement indicating that you could only park there for 45 minutes. I came in after 8 PM on Thursday evening. It was their last hour of operation, and there were very few customers inside. The cashier (Kailee?) greeted me, but not very warmly. More dull and lifeless I would say. After servicing a couple other customers who had already placed their orders, she went up to the register to take my order. I knew I wanted a bowl because I generally prefer bowls over wraps. However, I was a little undecided on the protein. I noticed they offered Grilled Kofta, which I hadn't seen before. I asked Kailee what exactly it was, and she mentioned it was ground beef. It had the same upcharge as the Grilled Chicken, which I had tried at the Torrance location and was left a little disappointed. A bowl comes with base toppings of romaine lettuce, red cabbage slaw, pickled onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and the OG Yogurt sauce. Last month, The Kebab Shop celebrated its 50th location opening by offering free premium toppings when you order a wrap or a bowl; these premium toppings include tzatziki, feta, hummus, and olives. The Kebab Shop thankfully decided to extend that promotion into May, which made me quite happy, needless to say. Kailee didn't exhibit much friendliness that when I asked for the premium toppings that, at least for the time being, didn't incur an upcharge, I almost thought she would have missed one. I do appreciate how helpful she was, even mentioning that the Grilled Kofta would take ~10 minutes to cook. I was handed a buzzer, but had momentarily forgotten about it when I went up to check my order after ~11 minutes. I saw they were close to being done with my bowl, so I lingered around the front a little while longer. Then, I heard my buzzer go off, so I had to go get the buzzer and hand it to an employee. Or well I tried to, but the employee headed back to the kitchen after dropping my bowl off at the pickup table. It was mostly vacant inside, but such a tactic could have allowed for another customer to just take my order if that customer were close by. Also, there was a lid on my bowl even though I had told Kailee I was willing to dine in. Not sure why they needed to waste a perfectly good lid here? During the wait, I noticed Kailee taking a dinner break and eating off to the side. I went to get the sauces for my bowl, but they ran out of Cilantro Jalapeno! It took multiple squirts to finally get some to come out, and the squirts weren't as smooth, unfortunately. The squirts turned out pretty choppy that I almost spilled some on my clothes, to which I may have said, "oh crap!" within earshot of Kailee. However, she continued to enjoy her leisurely dinner break. I sat at a table next to a napkin dispenser and not too far from the drink dispenser for ease of access to napkins. The A/C inside was so strong that when I set down some napkins on the table, the napkins flew off the table a second or two later! Nevertheless, the bowl was fantastic! I loved everything about it from the freshness of the ingredients to the overall taste profile. An easy 5 stars for the food; however, it's not all about the food. The timing of when I got the sauces was quite bad for me. Since it was the last hour of operation, they weren't going to refill each of their three sauce pumps. I was almost done eating my meal when I overheard I could have gotten more sauces at the front counter. Unfortunately, too little too late for me :( The water dispenser was being difficult for me. I had to lower the lever multiple times for water to come out at a normal flow rate. The first time, it was making noise while only a little water came out. On another attempt, it wouldn't dispense water at all. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to this Kebab Shop! Best visit so far, but *still* not enough to earn a holistic 5 star rating from yours truly. read more

I got the chicken shawarma and was happy I did! I elected to go without fries but pretty much got all the veggies including rice. The wraps are LARGE, I ate my wrapping two sittings lol. The price for my wrap with tax was like $15.50. The gentleman that helped me today was Antonio. Super knowledgeable about the menu, very friendly, answered all my questions and made excellent recommendations. I came here due to my previous experience with Kevin, excluding the fry's debacle. Lolo helped me tonight. I ordered the same thing (so I thought) from last time expecting to get the same quality of food. Boy was I wrong. I ordered the plate with sirloin steak, my base was 1/2 saffron rice, and 1/2 salad, i attempted to add fermented veggies, onions, cucumbers, lettuce, and Tzakiki sauce, hummus and extra pita, and fries. I was denied the grilled veggies because there was red pepper already premixed, (ok), but when I mentioned getting the other stuff listed above that I had gotten before, there was push back and basically what I got was a pitiful display of rice, and meat and a salad. The meat was rough and texture chewy. The rice was not well made and tasted bland. The kebab came with a wooden skewer intact. The wooden skewer part of it had broken off and gone into my rice, and i bit into it and almost chipped my tooth. Nightmare. I mean what happened within the 2 months of my previous review? Is it new management, new owner, what?? There even was lack of condiments (garlic yogurt) in the canister. These things should be monitored and replenished. I feel like it may have been some full moon action going, because having horrible service back-to-back from the pie to the kebab seems off on the same day. Hot tip: if you sign up for their rewards program you will rack up rewards each time you visit and can have promotions to add onto your purchase. I was lucky to use my fries from the previous issue and had that be redeemed. When I got home the fries were cold, and I had to reheat into the toaster oven to have them be edible. At this point there are 2 businesses I will be avoiding. This is one of them. Their location is prime near the los Olivos center, the parking is plentiful, the food this time subpar and nowhere near what I expected. Disappointed for sure! read more

Ambiance: plenty of parking and we came at around 1:30 pm so it was quiet inside. Our cashier was nice and we found cozy seating in the back. Food: we ordered a plate for the kids with rice, falafel and grilled chicken, as well as the original wrap with lamb and a super duper kebab which has fries inside (hardly had any fries when we ate it or hummus) and if you are paying for those extras you feel a little duped. The pita chips lacked crunch, was chewy and absorbed a lot of oil. It would have gotten a 4 if they had added more meat. It has plenty of veggies which is nice, but it just needed a tad more meat (felt like a half serving of meat or less) Unfortunately the chicken was dry but if you dipped it in the yogurt sauce it did spruce it up slightly. They had 3 different sauces, yogurt, jalapeño cilantro and red chili. Pro tip/ Mix all three. This was the highlight of the food read more

Some years ago when I could afford the time to be a little more focused on it, I chased that OMAD lifestyle relentlessly, and I wish I knew about The Kebab Shop then, because there is hardly a better convenient choice on the basis of enjoyment and energizing micronutrition if you are constraining yourself to one meal a day than having one of the wraps here before you really get to work. The portions and the sauces are consistently good (especially the green sauce), and the San Diego and Super Duper options (especially lamb & beef with the Fire Hummus) are great presets if you're not into build-your-own. Everybody at this location is friendly and enthusiastic, with Lalo in particular being awesome and always going above and beyond! I recently posted a review of this restaurant stating that they are now making wraps that are half the size of what they have been known to offer as far as the amount of ingredients that they place in their wraps. The management responded to my review that they would correct the issue. I recently returned to this location and ordered a wrap. The issue has not been corrected. The wrap that I purchased was half if not less than half the size of what The Kebab Shop at this location used to offer. It was thin with a very small amount of the ingredients that I ordered to be in the wrap. This location has significantly gone downhill as far as the quality and quantity of their product. read more

I like the Kebab shop. It feels pricy, especially for fast service restaurant, but the wrap is good, and eating out is more expensive than ever. I have occasionally added the extra 2 toppings for $2, and it's always best to add fries to your wrap. The other topping item could be subject to your mood/craving. Tried kebab shop for the first time and was not disappointed. I ordered the super duper wrap and chose steak as my protein. They were very generous on the steak, there were huge chunks! Love this place! Huge size for a single wrap and can be leftovers for your lunch the next day. If they cut portions down, then safe to say it won't be worth it. What I would really enjoy is if they sold, just the wraps. Where I could buy a dozen or so and use them throughout the week. As of now we eat there once every 2 months for a family of 4. Staff here is always so friendly, the food comes out extremely quick and tastes fantastic, and the sauces they have available are pretty addicting. My only gripe is that they no longer have chicken schwarma - their grilled chicken they replaced it with isn't as great because I don't like any char flavor on my chicken at all, so I had to switch from chicken to lamb. I was running in between both of my jobs and it was really refreshing to see a food service associate who is so happy to see their customer. She asked genuine questions and was a great conversationalist. I work in the hospitality, industry myself, and there is always a call to give top-notch services with detailed care and with anticipating customer needs. Tori fulfilled all of these points and I'm very grateful to have encountered her even if it was for a little bit. She is a great asset to your company I like to come to the store, and I also usually go to the Cerritos location as well. The food is always flavorful and fresh. The one thing I will say is that if you order in house, be ready to wait for a little bit since they do make things fresh. I would suggest to order online if you want something quicker.
