First time ordering and I'm already planning my next visit. I'm Romanian and grew up on homemade meals with similar flavors, and this place truly impressed. I ordered takeout with the idea of eating family-style, and everything we tried tasted fresh and flavorful. Even my kids loved it. They were literally fighting over the last falafel, and the chicken kabob was perfectly juicy and seasoned just right. The food might be the closest thing to homemade without making it yourself. When I went to pick up the order, Bilal made the experience even better. He was incredibly welcoming, chatted with my son and made him laugh, and even offered us samples so we could try more of the menu. He even included a few extra samples for my husband since I mentioned he gets home late and ends up eating leftovers. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. Highly recommend for both the food and the genuinely warm service.

I'm updating my review from a few years ago because this place still deserves the praise. I'm picky about Lebanese food, and this is one of the few spots that actually feels like someone's mom is in the kitchen. It doesn't taste commercial or pumped out in bulk. It tastes real. The owner is warm and genuinely hospitable, and his wife prepares the food fresh. They use quality olive oil and key ingredients sourced from Lebanon, which makes a difference. The fattoush salad is excellent. The falafel is flavorful. I've also had the lentil salad and the tabbouleh, and both were fantastic. If you're anywhere near the area, go! Places like this are hard to find now, and that kind of quality and authenticity is rare. I will always be a reoccurring customer.

Hands down one of the best shawarma sandwiches I've had in California. I'm pretty picky when it comes to shawarma since I've had some incredible ones outside the U.S. so I was a bit skeptical, especially about the beef, because it can easily be dry. But I gave it a chance, and I'm so glad I did. It was absolutely delicious, and I'll probably be going back twice a week! The owner is fantastic, so welcoming and a truly great host. You can tell he's mastered exactly what goes into making the perfect shawarma. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

Lebanese Shish Taouk & Beef Kabob!

This is one of our favorite authentic Lebanese restaurants that one can find here in Orange County. Shish Taouk has delicious Shawarma, and perhaps the best Kebab, and most popular falafel in town. Additionally, their food is authentic, made from scratch, And has the right ingredients. The owner reminded us that they don't use any preservative in the food recipes and it's 100% natural too! I love anything delicious that involves extra virgin olive oil. :) We always get a combination plate, my personal favorite is homemade vegetarian dolma. The owner consistently provides a welcoming, loving, multicultural atmosphere.

This place is awesome! The food is simply delish!! Nice cozy atmosphere with a wide selection of favorites. Recommend getting the no. 3 mixed plate. Can't go wrong! Also the side are fabulous! Grape leaves, tabouli, babaganoush (sorry for any mispelling!)

Another highly satisfying lunch at Shish Taouk today. We can never have enough of this place. The food is always amazing and we Love Bilal, the owner. A Visit there is always a memorable experience. Although everything is delicious. I recommend my personal favorite, the beef and lamb shawarma wrap. It comes with garlic, tomatoes, onions, pickles, Parsley and tahini sauce. A true Lebanese Shawarma. The meat is tender and juicy. I like the Pita bread well toasted. It is crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It is to die for. Thank you Bilal for the Quality food, the excellent service and the laughs. Good vibes :)

I wasnt planning on taking a photo, but halfway through, I decided I had to document

I just had the most amazing chicken shawarma wrap I've ever had! The owner was so helpful and gave wonderful suggestions on what I should include in my wrap. I'll be visiting this place very frequently (I already know this)! A great local spot for flavor and REAL/clean food options

Best food ever!! I been here twice and it's the best Arabic food I've ever tried!!! Service is really good and the owner is always with a big smile. Support local!

I love this place! Not only is the owner incredibly friendly and welcoming but he also goes out of his way to create a lovely gluten free dish for us! Consistently delicious.

If you're looking for authentic, Lebanese food, with great and friendly service, and a happy ambience, in Orange County, don't look further. The family business owner will find your tasty favorite from his great menu options. I personally love their Shawarma, Falafel, Tabouleh and for desert you can try one of those fluffy, sweet Namura that I'm absolutely in love with its orange blossom's flavor, or baklava. Everything super fresh and made from scratch, with great quality ingredients and tasty. We keep going back!

Beef & Lamb Shawarma Plate- # 2

My visit earlier today was truly impressive. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt inviting. The employee, who I assume was the owner, greeted me with a large smile and asked me if it was my first time eating there. When I said yes, he walked me through the whole menu and gave me a complimentary falafel. It felt like he was genuinely proud of the food he was serving. And it showed! The highlight of my experience was the food. The menu is very simple: shawarma, falafel, and kebabs. I ordered the beef and lamb shawarma. Ample portions of meat were accompanied by creamy hummus, soft rice, and fresh veggies. Everything served was outstanding. The meat was seasoned to perfection and was very tender. I've had plenty of shawarma in the past growing up in OC and exploring little Arabia in Anaheim. This place stacks up to the best in that area. I highly recommend ordering any of the meat dishes. Whether you're familiar with Lebanese cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is a must-visit. Exceptional food and wonderful hospitality. I will definitely be returning.

Before you visit, keep these things in mind: 1. This is a ghost kitchen, not a full-service restaurant. It's best for takeout and delivery. There are only a few chairs outside--just four in total. 2. Ordering is entirely self-service via a digital kiosk, with no staff on hand to assist you. 3. There are no bathrooms available anywhere on-site. Regarding the food, it was just okay-- a bit underwhelming, especially given that Lebanese cuisine is typically so flavorful. The chicken was dry, the hummus lacked depth, and the rice was bland. That said, the fattoush salad, one of my favorites, was very good, with a delicious dressing. Overall, I can't say I'd return. The prices were quite high for the portions, and the quality didn't meet my expectations. If you're looking for a quick Lebanese meal, this place is a decent option, but don't expect much more than that.

The iced tea was refreshing. I had finished up a 3 hour research trip walking around Mission SJC, so refreshing is an understatement. To start off, we had spinach fatayer, grape leaves, fried eggplant, and cheese fatayer. I loved the cheese fatayer! It was crispy and the cheese inside was delicious. I also added on a soup to my filet mignon shish kabob entree. I asked the waiter if the kitchen could cut my kabob into small pieces because my wrist is broken and I am unable to use a knife. He was understanding and the meat arrived in perfect bite sized pieces. The meat was so tender and seasoned appropriately. The pita and hummus were great too. My mom had the salmon, which she enjoyed. The waiter gave us personal service that triumphs over impersonal interactions at other restaurants. For dessert, my mom and I both ordered the chocolate pistachio fudge cake with a side of ice cream. Oh my! It was DELICIOUS! I remember telling my mom "thank god I was just at a church because forgive me father for I have sinned". It was decadent and rich. I even took some home and it held up well the next day. Additionally, the whole ambiance was very welcoming and chic. I really liked the light fixtures and the bathroom was very clean and elegant. Overall, my mom and I had an amazing lunch! Anytime we're back in SJC, we will be returning.

I was hoping the leftover falafel would taste better the next day, but sadly, it didn't. Chicken and beef kabob were decent. Kinda bummed how they didn't have some sort of combo bowl. You'd have to buy extra meat if you wanted to try different meats together. The extras and sides were quite pricey, too. We also tried a variety of flatbreads. The spinach and cheese was our favorite. We liked the zataar one, and the meat with jalapenos was just ok. The thick creamy garlic sauce went well with the thin, crispy flatbreads, while the runny white sauce tasted bland and slightly bitter (unpleasant with everything, to be honest). Overall, the food is fine, but I wouldn't go again. A few tables were available inside the small, simple-looking shop, but it felt a bit awkward eating there. Food is good, service was okay, speed was disappointingly slow…read more I get that these places make their food to order so I expected a wait, but they have the word "express" in their business name so I had a false expectation. Needless to say I sat there waiting for my two to-go orders for what felt like an eternity. I thought I ordered the cheaper lunch special of chicken koobideh and beef koobideh, but he punched in the full portion instead. I didn't really mind as it just became extra food for dinner. But I feel like if someone is going in at the beginning of lunch time, they would be looking to order lunch menu stuff? I guess I can't expect people to do what I my logic would do. The two koobidehs is pretty much the same thing I order at any of these places because I prefer ground meat that's tender and juicy and this place did not disappoint. We ordered the combo beef and chicken plate, the beef gyro plate, and two falafel on the side. The falafel didn't look impressive, but they were surprisingly excellent--moist, flavorful, and honestly better than Sababa's. I'll definitely order six next time. The gyro plate was solid, not overly greasy or heavy, and the seasoning was just right. I wasn't a fan of the hummus, which had a bitter aftertaste, but my partner liked the tanginess, so that may come down to personal preference. On the combo plate, the chicken stood out: juicy and tender. The beef seemed to be a leaner cut and was a bit dry. I'd probably skip this particular beef kebab next time and try a different one. The saffron rice and grilled tomato were a nice complement. The plate also came with jumbo naan, served warm and smelling amazing, definitely a highlight.

Something that I cannot make, something that I've tried, yet the establishment still finds a way to give me a different and enjoyable experience. Boneless Chicken and Beef Koobideh Combo: One of the most dangerous things to order, as both things can either come out as dry, or start off as great, then dry up before you can finish. None of those scenarios happened here. The chicken was soft, juicy, seasoned very well, and it stayed that way. The beef koobideh had this smoky flavor profile, which is different from what I normally expect, and I liked it. Potato Boloni: I've never had boloni in my life, and the closest comparison I have is a Chinese or Korean pancake. The boloni had areas of spiciness, and I think it had room to go higher. It's definitely an appetizer, and I won't mind having it again. Service: There were only 2-3 occupied tables when we went. I think the staff had plenty of time to take our orders, give us water, and the food arrived within a reasonable time. Ambiance: You could tell that the restaurant was designed to host wedding receptions or larger parties in mind. Stage, lights, and a bunch of stuff that may be overwhelming for some. I didn't mind. Good food is all that matters.
