I had the pleasure of visiting Heaven On A Fork yesterday with my cousin, and it truly lives up to its name. From the moment we walked in, we could tell this place was something special--the ambiance was inviting, vibrant, and completely full, which is always a great sign. The food? Absolutely incredible. Without hesitation, this is the best Mediterranean cuisine I've ever had. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and beautifully elevated--honestly, Michelin-level quality. You can tell there's real intention behind the flavors and presentation. What made the experience even better was the staff. They were not only kind and welcoming, but also incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to walk us through the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made us feel completely taken care of. It's no surprise they're already expanding into a new space just a few doors down--it looks like it will be even more spacious and high-end, which is well deserved. I remember saying before we went in, "With a name like Heaven on a Fork, it has to be good"--and they absolutely delivered. I'll definitely be back!

I got to experience authentic Persian cuisine at heaven on a fork today. I had two friendly servers helping me out today. I'd like to use this platform to thank Sorena & Parto for their gracious service. I ordered Tahdig 3 stew, Mast o Moosir & Mast o Khiar as appetizers & got to experience their delicious shishlik lamb rack chop with a side of dill rice. 5/5 Totally recommended !! Will come back.

What an amazing restaurant! The food is insanely delicious. Every dish we've ordered is flavorful and rich, and the plating is elevated and beautiful. Our favorites are the Tahchin, which has crunchy and tender rice, juicy chicken, and pops of flavor with the barberries; and the Heaven Stew, which is a show-stopping presentation, and has lamb neck that melts in your mouth. The service is also always great and all the employees are very friendly and helpful. We have had Sorena the last few times we have come, and he is a great server.

One of the best things about sharing a variety of food is how the food becomes so appealing and delicious. Heaven On A Fork is one of the places where sharing food should be and enjoyed. Even my three-month-old granddaughter seems to be happy looking at the appetizing food served to us! The Fesenjon, slow cooked chicken topped with ground walnut pomegranate molasses was so good it was hard to stop. The chicken was tender and mixed well with the sauce. It came with rice biryani. We decided on two appetizers the Muhammara made with bell peppers, walnuts, tahini, and pomegranate paste was incredibly flavorful and healthy. The other appetizer was Labneh Za'Atar, yogurt with fresh mint, basil, olives , extra virgin olive and za'atare. Fresh and just wonderful! Service was excellent and staff was happy to serve the customers. Didn't expect the restaurant to be a buzzy Monday past 2 pm. We'll definitely come back for more!

I absolutely love this place! Hands down the best Persian food in Orange County! and I say this as someone who is Persian. My husband is American, and he loves it just as much as I do, which says a lot! The service is always wonderful. Morteza and Sorena are incredible servers every time we go, they're so warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which makes the experience even better. We've tried so many dishes here: tahdig, koobideh kabob, kaseh kabob, chicken kabob, chenjeh kabob, tahchin, muhammara dip and everything has been amazing. Nothing has ever disappointed us. Every time we order something new, it somehow manages to exceed expectations. The ambiance is also lovely cute, cozy, with fresh flowers on the tables and nice lighting that makes the whole place feel special. My only wish is that they could expand the restaurant because it gets very busy and they don't take reservations. But honestly, that just shows how much people love it. Highly recommend! this place is truly a gem!

Hands down the best beef koobideh I've ever had -- super tender, juicy and flavorful ! I really enjoyed the bread with butter and Ali Nazik as well. The establishment is on the small side. As a result, it can get pretty loud when it's a full house. Friendly service but aforementioned noise makes it hard to hear them repeat your order back.

One of the tastiest Persian meals I've had anywhere in California. Every dish came out beautifully presented and full of flavor -- perfectly grilled meats, fragrant saffron rice, and fresh, vibrant sides that made the whole experience feel authentic and thoughtfully prepared. The quality of the food was excellent, the selection was impressive, and the prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes and craftsmanship. I live in Los Angeles and would absolutely drive all the way back to Laguna just to eat here again. Even my Persian mom who is definitely a tough critic and hard to please loved the food, which says everything.

Tahchin 6.18/10- layered saffron rice seasoned with yogurt and egg yolk oven baked with soft boiled chicken. This was my first time trying this dish but I wasn't really a fan. It had a very strong flavor of mostly egg and chicken even though it's supposed to be saffron rice. The rice on top was a bit too eggy for my taste. The chicken was incredibly tender but there wasn't much flavor to it. If anything, the sauce that came with it added lots of flavor and made it more enjoyable. Beef Soltani 8.31/10- the beef barg and koobideh were alright but not amazing. It was not as tender or juicy as my normal spot for Persian food, which was disappointing. I loved how they gave onions and cilantro with the dish though as it added a lot of fresh flavor and helped brighten everything up. The meat was a little dry overall. Heaven Stew 12/10- this was absolutely incredible! Made with slow cooked seasoned lamb neck and vegetables, and served with flatbread. I absolutely loved the flavors of this stew - it was rich, complex, and so satisfying. I kept putting it on my rice because it added so much amazing flavor to everything. The lamb itself was so tender and fell perfectly off the bone. The flatbread was also the perfect consistency and delicious for soaking up all that sauce and lamb. I would honestly come back just for this dish - it was that good! Baghali Polo 8.56/10- I loved the lima beans in this rice dish, but I felt that their dill wasn't that fresh and the rice could definitely use more butter. It was very good though, especially when I put the heaven stew on top of it. The lima beans added great texture and flavor. Adas Polo 8.32/10- made with lentils, dates, and raisins. I liked how sweet this rice was from the dates and raisins, but I think it was a bit dry on its own. It was really good with the heaven stew on top though - the stew's sauce really helped bring it all together. Dogh 9.23/10- this yogurt drink was so good! I loved how they put a lot of fresh mint in it. It was refreshing and tangy, and the perfect drink to have with all the rich Persian flavors. The mint made it so cooling and it paired beautifully with everything we ordered. This Persian restaurant had some really standout dishes like that incredible heaven stew, but overall it was hit or miss compared to my usual Persian spot. The stew alone made it worth the visit though! Instagram: @hungrytamale

This place is so yummy!!! We came around 2 on a Sunday, and were able to get sat after a 20 minute wait. The ambiance is very fast-paced and intimate, the dim lighting is nice. The food was so yummy!!! Hoping to go back soon to try more of the offerings!!!

Food is good, service was okay, speed was disappointingly slow…read more I get that these places make their food to order so I expected a wait, but they have the word "express" in their business name so I had a false expectation. Needless to say I sat there waiting for my two to-go orders for what felt like an eternity. A lot of people flowed in after me and they were all just waiting, it was weird since it was empty when I walked in and then seeing 6 tables of people with no food. I thought I ordered the cheaper lunch special of chicken koobideh and beef koobideh, but he punched in the full portion instead. I didn't really mind as it just became extra food for dinner. But I feel like if someone is going in at the beginning of lunch time, they would be looking to order lunch menu stuff? I guess I can't expect people to do what I my logic would do. The two koobidehs is pretty much the same thing I order at any of these places because I prefer ground meat that's tender and juicy and this place did not disappoint. We ordered the combo beef and chicken plate, the beef gyro plate, and two falafel on the side. The falafel didn't look impressive, but they were surprisingly excellent--moist, flavorful, and honestly better than Sababa's. I'll definitely order six next time. The gyro plate was solid, not overly greasy or heavy, and the seasoning was just right. I wasn't a fan of the hummus, which had a bitter aftertaste, but my partner liked the tanginess, so that may come down to personal preference. On the combo plate, the chicken stood out: juicy and tender. The beef seemed to be a leaner cut and was a bit dry. I'd probably skip this particular beef kebab next time and try a different one. The saffron rice and grilled tomato were a nice complement. The plate also came with jumbo naan, served warm and smelling amazing, definitely a highlight.

We showed up around 1 PM, which should be prime lunch time, and the place was completely empty. Not just quiet, I mean literally no one there, which immediately felt off. Even finding the entrance was confusing, especially if it's your first time. The exterior didn't help either. It looked sun-damaged and like it hadn't been maintained in a while, which set the tone before we even walked in. Once inside, things didn't improve. A guy greeted us briefly and ran to the back, and then another staff member asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. The first thing we noticed was how stuffy it felt. No airflow, no ventilation, and when I asked if the AC was on, he said no. At that point, it just didn't feel comfortable staying. My friend and I looked at each other like, are we really about to eat here? That feeling alone says a lot. They do have an outdoor seating setup with what looks like Persian-style lounge seating, which could actually be really nice, but even that area didn't look clean or maintained. It had potential, but it just didn't feel inviting. We ended up leaving, and shortly after, another couple walked in and chose to sit outside, probably for the same reason we didn't want to stay inside. Honestly, this place feels like it could have a good vibe if it were busy and properly maintained, but right now it just feels neglected. Between the confusing entrance, lack of upkeep, and uncomfortable indoor environment, it was an easy decision to walk out.

We drove around looking for a comfortable place with crystal & linen so we could feel catered to...but the surrounding eateries were just sad. Lotsa fast food and 3 star hole-in-the-walls. As we were preparing to leave Foothill Ranch we saw Caspian. It stood out...boldly. Indoor/outdoor seating, firelight accents, nice cars in the parking lot...we had to try it. Upon entry it was clear a large private event was taking place, and we fully expected to be turned away. The interior was beautiful, spacious, and appeared to have just been built. Everything looked brand-spanking new. Staff was scurrying amongst the very large party of guests, and it was clear they had recently arrived too. We were greeted with smiles and our request for seating in a quiet, out-of-the-way table was instantly granted. The 4-minute rule was honored despite the busyness of the engagement party going on in the next room and our server was warm and welcoming. We had time to kill and enjoyed some wine and appetizers, stalling placement of the food order for quite a while. Now understand, I can be a challenging customer because I have been the food service profession for decades. I can look at an item and tell you if it came from SYSCO, US Foods, Restaurant Depot, or some other popular source...and my familiarity can adversely impact my dining experiences. I tend to be critical of both the front & back of a restaurant (kitchen staff & servers) and this skepticism is magnified when I feel the need to be catered to. Yes...I'm that guy. Well during the hours we spent at Caspian, we were greeted by the owner Esie as well a manager, both who engaged us in brief conversation that was enjoyable and appreciated. Not so much that it became intrusive (like some places I've visited...once) and it was clear they were going above and beyond to make a meaningful first impression. Our server recommended a red wine that was perfect, all the appetizers and entrees were cooked properly, delicious and served like artwork. The eyes dine first so the hard look I give food when it's brought to the table, comes with expectation. Caspian did not disappoint. Something else I found exceptional about this place was the coffee. My wife and I are addicted to the stuff; both the coffee and cappuccino was so much better than the coffee we make at home we were stunned. We buy premium whole beans that we carefully mix, our Jura Capresso makes every kind of coffee drink and yet...the java served at Caspian head & shoulders above my best efforts. I am hopeful they will share the brand and source with me...I want that coffee every day!!! As you can surmise...with three people looking after us, we felt fully catered too. If you are a tough customer...if you scrutinize things like the crystal stemware, steak knife and water carried, if you know when your server is providing the ideal level of service (not stopping to check on you too often or disappearing for too long) and seek a dining experience in very elegant and comfortable surroundings, then do yourself a favor and go visit Caspian Mediterranean Kitchen on a day when you need to be treated right...very spoiled. This place has a certificate of excellence...not a commonality in the restaurant business and something the most discerning customer appreciates. You need to take an OCD approach to cleanliness and food handling to earn one of these certificates and it is clear the management and staff at Caspian treat every diner like a published food critic. That is rare. Go ahead...treat yourself...you'll return, even if it's a bit of a drive. Caspian Mediterranean Kitchen...they set the customer service bar so high...other restauranteurs need to charter a plane just to see it.
