Best service. Amazing portions . Come here after gym for the protein. Love it . Soltani for sultans.

Ghormeh Sabzi
Boris M.

We came on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was buzzing. Luckily, we got seated right away. Parking is easy in the plaza and on that Saturday night they first had a very charming belly dancer and later a DJ who entertained the audience with live singing over backing audio and video tracks. Excellent entertainment and generally a great vibe, as people were celebrating birthdays, on dates, and dancing to the music. We ordered the Ghormeh Sabzi as a main and Mast O Mousir as an appetizer. Portion sizes are very generous and prices are very competitive. Food was good and we would definitely like to come back to try more of their dishes.

Chicken and Beef Koobideh Or Chicken Koobideh Kabob

Came in during weekday lunch. Thought the price was a little high until I got the platter served in front of me. Great service and the ambience feels a bit fancy. Big servings and great food. Skipped breakfast and was able to finish my plate!

Wow! This place has the best Persian Pizza ever!! It was our first time to try it and we loved it! Can't wait to go back! Their Kabab dishes and their stews are all super delicious! The service was also great. The pizza was the biggest surprise!! Everybody should try it! They truly make the best food!!

Beef Koobideh, Side Salad and Basmati Rice (with sour cherries by request)

What a hidden gem- quite literally tucked into a little unassuming plaza. I was in the area for a doctor appointment and wanted to try something I couldn't get in my area. I knew from the pictures this place was more suited for events since they have a stage and bar in the dining area but- the lunch specials are a steal here! Their beef koobidah is $13.75 and it comes with rice. For an extra $2 you get a side salad too. I asked for sour cherries on my rice and they kindly obliged. The salad was fresh, the beef was tender and well seasoned, and the rice was nice and fluffy with the perfect tartness from the cherries! My favorite part of the meal was actually the mint tea that they served- with fresh mint, rock sugar and lemon. Portion sizes are large! I was able to still have some leftovers for the next day. Lastly, service is excellent here. Delina was my server and was exceptional. She was so friendly, made recommendations, and was kind enough to answer any questions. We had great conversation. I will definitely have this place as my new lunch spot in the future and look forward to trying more authentic dishes like the Persian pizza next time! If you are in the area, definitely check it out!

Chicken Soltani Kabob

They serve Persian pizza and chicken kebab with rice, all under one roof. That's already a win. The menu is huge almost too huge but in a good way, because it means everyone finds something they like. The chicken? I'm telling you, by far one of the best I've had in the U.S. Juicy, full of flavor, and cooked perfectly. The rice was exactly how Persian rice should be simple, clean, and right next to a killer kebab. And the pizza? The Persian pizza here is amazing. Thin crust, great toppings, great taste. The fact that you can order pizza and chicken kebab with rice at the same time is honestly just awesome. Not many places pull off both, and even fewer make both this good. The portions are generous classic Persian food style. So yeah, make sure you're hungry when you come here. I will definitely come back here again

Tahdig With Stew

I was pleased with the service and have been here previously for a take out order. I was disappointed in their tahdig and lamb shank. I feel like it could have been seasoned better. The place was empty when we came in for dinner just thought the food would have been just as good as ordering the combination plate and was disappointed.

The BEST Persian food in OC! The service was amazing, and the food came out really quickly. Definitely will come back!

Beef Koobideh

Great Persian food! Really good service as well. I got the beef koobideh and combo appetizer. Like that they are open late too :)

A piece of elastic & a piece of aluminum foil
Paris A.

First visit and unfortunately, a terrible takeout experience. I ordered Gheimeh Bademjan, chicken soltani kebab, and a steak & mushroom pizza -- all ended up in the trash. The Gheimeh Bademjan tasted canned and was inedible. The chicken was dry and chewy, and I found a hair in the rice. The pizza was the worst part: I found a piece of elastic (like grocery produce rubber bands), and my husband found aluminum foil in his slice. After spending $114.78, we threw everything away due to quality and safety concerns. I rarely leave negative reviews after one visit, but this was genuinely disgusting and very disappointing. The interior also felt outdated and uninviting. Would not recommend.

Needless to say I sat there waiting for my two to-go orders for what felt like an eternity. A lot of people flowed in after me and they were all just waiting, it was weird since it was empty when I walked in and then seeing 6 tables of people with no food. I thought I ordered the cheaper lunch special of chicken koobideh and beef koobideh, but he punched in the full portion instead. I didn't really mind as it just became extra food for dinner. But I feel like if someone is going in at the beginning of lunch time, they would be looking to order lunch menu stuff? I guess I can't expect people to do what I my logic would do. The two koobidehs is pretty much the same thing I order at any of these places because I prefer ground meat that's tender and juicy and this place did not disappoint. They were cooked to perfections with just a little crisp on the meats. Not much else to say since I only had a basic meal....meals

We ordered the combo beef and chicken plate, the beef gyro plate, and two falafel on the side. The falafel didn't look impressive, but they were surprisingly excellent--moist, flavorful, and honestly better than Sababa's. I'll definitely order six next time. The gyro plate was solid, not overly greasy or heavy, and the seasoning was just right. I wasn't a fan of the hummus, which had a bitter aftertaste, but my partner liked the tanginess, so that may come down to personal preference. On the combo plate, the chicken stood out: juicy and tender. The beef seemed to be a leaner cut and was a bit dry. I'd probably skip this particular beef kebab next time and try a different one. The saffron rice and grilled tomato were a nice complement. The plate also came with jumbo naan, served warm and smelling amazing, definitely a highlight.

Something that I cannot make, something that I've tried, yet the establishment still finds a way to give me a different and enjoyable experience. Boneless Chicken and Beef Koobideh Combo: One of the most dangerous things to order, as both things can either come out as dry, or start off as great, then dry up before you can finish. None of those scenarios happened here. The chicken was soft, juicy, seasoned very well, and it stayed that way. The beef koobideh had this smoky flavor profile, which is different from what I normally expect, and I liked it. Potato Boloni: I've never had boloni in my life, and the closest comparison I have is a Chinese or Korean pancake. The boloni had areas of spiciness, and I think it had room to go higher. It's definitely an appetizer, and I won't mind having it again. Service: There were only 2-3 occupied tables when we went. I think the staff had plenty of time to take our orders, give us water, and the food arrived within a reasonable time. Ambiance: You could tell that the restaurant was designed to host wedding receptions or larger parties in mind. Stage, lights, and a bunch of stuff that may be overwhelming for some. I didn't mind. Good food is all that matters.

I ordered the lemon garlic chicken bowl with basmati rice and the 2 sides I chose were lemon garlic potatoes 2x. The total came out to $15 and some change. It took approx 10 min for my food to come out, which wasn't long at all. The smell of the garlic was very strong, and I'm pretty sure my car will smell like garlic for the rest of the week. I ordered this particular item because all of the reviews for it were very positive. The chicken was tender and it was flavorful, but it didn't knock my socks off. It only came with 5 pieces. The lemon garlic potatoes were also just average. And the basmati rice seemed more wet than it typically should be. For the amount of food, I didn't think it warranted $15. In my opinion, there are better Greek eateries in the area.

We drove around looking for a comfortable place with crystal & linen so we could feel catered to...but the surrounding eateries were just sad. Lotsa fast food and 3 star hole-in-the-walls. As we were preparing to leave Foothill Ranch we saw Caspian. It stood out...boldly. Indoor/outdoor seating, firelight accents, nice cars in the parking lot...we had to try it. Upon entry it was clear a large private event was taking place, and we fully expected to be turned away. The interior was beautiful, spacious, and appeared to have just been built. Everything looked brand-spanking new. Staff was scurrying amongst the very large party of guests, and it was clear they had recently arrived too. We were greeted with smiles and our request for seating in a quiet, out-of-the-way table was instantly granted. The 4-minute rule was honored despite the busyness of the engagement party going on in the next room and our server was warm and welcoming. We had time to kill and enjoyed some wine and appetizers, stalling placement of the food order for quite a while. Now understand, I can be a challenging customer because I have been the food service profession for decades. I can look at an item and tell you if it came from SYSCO, US Foods, Restaurant Depot, or some other popular source...and my familiarity can adversely impact my dining experiences. I tend to be critical of both the front & back of a restaurant (kitchen staff & servers) and this skepticism is magnified when I feel the need to be catered to. Yes...I'm that guy. Well during the hours we spent at Caspian, we were greeted by the owner Esie as well a manager, both who engaged us in brief conversation that was enjoyable and appreciated. Not so much that it became intrusive (like some places I've visited...once) and it was clear they were going above and beyond to make a meaningful first impression. Our server recommended a red wine that was perfect, all the appetizers and entrees were cooked properly, delicious and served like artwork. The eyes dine first so the hard look I give food when it's brought to the table, comes with expectation. Caspian did not disappoint. Something else I found exceptional about this place was the coffee. My wife and I are addicted to the stuff; both the coffee and cappuccino was so much better than the coffee we make at home we were stunned. We buy premium whole beans that we carefully mix, our Jura Capresso makes every kind of coffee drink and yet...the java served at Caspian head & shoulders above my best efforts. I am hopeful they will share the brand and source with me...I want that coffee every day!!! As you can surmise...with three people looking after us, we felt fully catered too. If you are a tough customer...if you scrutinize things like the crystal stemware, steak knife and water carried, if you know when your server is providing the ideal level of service (not stopping to check on you too often or disappearing for too long) and seek a dining experience in very elegant and comfortable surroundings, then do yourself a favor and go visit Caspian Mediterranean Kitchen on a day when you need to be treated right...very spoiled. This place has a certificate of excellence...not a commonality in the restaurant business and something the most discerning customer appreciates. You need to take an OCD approach to cleanliness and food handling to earn one of these certificates and it is clear the management and staff at Caspian treat every diner like a published food critic. That is rare. Go ahead...treat yourself...you'll return, even if it's a bit of a drive. Caspian Mediterranean Kitchen...they set the customer service bar so high...other restauranteurs need to charter a plane just to see it.
