No napkins, no utensils, no sumac package, no fresh onion or lime like every other place , should have asked, don't forget to ask! I'm so glad that this place is so close to home and I've been there many times for the last 8 years. Never failed.. their food are super fresh d delicious. Love the staff there too. It's a small place but they kept it nice and clean. I always get koobedeh combo/ one chicken and one beef, comes with rice and half salad if requested. Establishment is relaxed, clean and well lit. Staff was professional and courteous. We ordered the tadig with 3 toppings, must o' mousir, beef shish kabob, koobideh combo and shish kabob combo. The tadig was okay, the rice wasn't as crispy as I would have liked and personally the sweet sauce wasn't something I enjoyed. The other sauces were nice and overall I think it was a decent version of tadiq with the sauces. Others in the group liked the tadiq far more than I did. The must o' mousir was nice, light and bright. The flat bread was very nice and both paired together were quite good. The beef shish kabob meal was excellent. The salad was fresh with a nice dressing. The kabob itself was well cooked, with the filet remaining tender, juicy and flavorful. Stopped in on a Monday a little after opening and went in for the regular menu. We were an hour too early for the buffet (~$19pp) and didn't want to wait. We ordered the chicken koobideh plate, beef sultani plate, salmon, shirazi salad, yogurt sauce, and hummus. We always have a hard time finding chicken koobideh spots nearby, we usually only see chicken kabobs, so we were excited to see they offered it here! My mom enjoyed her chicken koobideh and we liked our beef sultani plate. We weren't huge fans of the hummus and shirazi salad. We liked the pricing, portions, and presentation here. This is the only place for a delicious Persian food. My family has been going to them for many years now. Small place but they keep it clean and the staff are top notches. I always ordered the same thing when I go there because it's that good . Koobehdeh combo. I get chicken and beef , comes with rice and I ask for half rice and half salad . They made their own dressing which is delicious. Try their hot tea. It's black tea but yet, it's taste like it's has some saffron.. best tea. Definitely will go back again soon . A very simple and minimalistic space with some tables and chairs. They do have a menu with some classic Persian food that includes kabobs and Persian stews with rice. For starters I always like getting the eggplant (kashk o bademjoon) which came out fairly quick with some pita bread. The flavor was alright but the pita bread was a little too dry and brittle so I waited for my entree to have it with it. As for the entree itself, I had the Beef Soltani (filet and ground combination) with their Cherry rice instead of the white rice. The display of the food was very nice as they use metal round plates to serve them in. The rice was good and the kabobs were tasty as well. I believe the owner was the server, greeter and the food runner himself so he was working hard. I rarely great service in most Persian restaurants just as I did here. It's a good place to simply come and eat food but doesn't have the ambiance and vibe for an event, date or celebration. It would be a great place for take out food. read more

I recommended to my friend to go eat at this tiny restaurant in Mission Viejo that I heard they have good food, as the waiter approach to take our order I ask to give us a couple of minutes and ask to give us some bread and butter first, he goes we don't give that as part of our service. I asked why? he said we just don't, but if you want I can get some with kind of condescending attitude. I mentioned all Persian restaurants do, he said we don't then immediately decided that we don't want to eat and we left. First time here & glad we stopped by. It's a small restaurant, very clean and the staff were wonderful. There is plenty of parking available too. My husband had their buffet and loved everything they served. I ordered their lamb shank off the menu, it was delicious. It wasn't gamey, the lamb was so tender it fell off the bone and the broth was delicious. We are picky with our Middle Eastern food and this didn't disappoint. This place is a hit or miss. The first time I visited, it was really great. The vegetarian gheymeh reminded me of my grandmother's, which basically means that it was really good. The second time I went, it was so-so. The food seemed less flavorful and overly oily. The third time, I was just disappointed. My dad didn't seem impressed either. I know this restaurant is big on catering orders, and my personal belief is that when the cooks are preparing for bigger orders and/or events, the food quality goes down for the smaller orders. I can't say that with certainty, but it's just what I've gathered from the few times that I have been. What I will say is that the mast moosir has been very good every-single-time. My mom has also said that it's one of the best that she's ever had. Came here on a weekday wanting to try out their lunch buffet. However when we took a look at the buffet options, we decided to order off the menu instead. The buffet only had a few options and just didn't look appetizing at all. We ended up getting the tahdig and the beef koobideh to share. The beef koobideh was pretty good, the rice was ok. I didn't like the fact that the man at the front went and grabbed the salad bowl from the buffet to bring to the back to make our side salad. Like they wanted to save costs and gave me buffet food. I guess I should be thankful that he didn't take the koobideh from the buffet and plated it as my meal. The tahdig was not good at all. The rice seemed more like old rice rather than crispy rice. Didn't like that they smothered all the sauces together on the rice cause it just made everything a soggy goopy mess. My family and I are real fans of Persian cuisine so we're always on the lookout to try new restaurants. When my daughter and son-in-law visited my wife and I we decided to try to Shemroon. My favorite Persian dish is fesonjan and Shemroon restaurant has one of the best fesonjans I've tried in Orange County. It's that good! The flavor is nuanced yet rich and the ingredients are generously used in the dish: the ground walnuts and pomegranate molasses and the tender chicken along with the basmati rice. We also had the dolmeh and the kasht o' bedemjan. The dolmeh was superb: the grape leaves were stuffed with generous portions of ground beef, rice, tarrogon, yellow split peas, chives and herbs. Probably the best dolmeh I've had in Orange County. For the kasht o' bedemjan, the mixture of fried eggplant mixed with garlic, whey, and fried onion really worked! It was delicious! The owner of the restaurant served us: he was friendly, helpful and informal. The ambience is that a small, family owed restaurant: casual and the real deal. With so many great Persian restaurants in Orange County it's hard to pick a favorite but Shemroom is now at the top of my list. I will definitely return! read more

We had a large event in Irvine last night. We usually cater with another local Persian restaurant, but we decided to try this newer one out. The owner helped us create an ideal menu and customized it for us with a very fair price. He personally showed up with a team member and set everything up. He decided to stay and ensure that the presentation and food refill trays were handled efficiently. They went above and beyond to ensure our catering for our event went smoothly. The owner Shahram is very hard-working and thorough. All the food was delicious, especially the kabob meats. Very fresh and not low quality meats. It's intimidating to eat different kinds of food because you don't feel like you know what to order. The staff I encountered was so patient and kind as they explained to me the different kinds of meat. They make everything made to order and it was wonderfully fresh and delicious. I saw that a new Persian restaurant opened up in Mission Viejo in the plaza that has Albertsons. It's not a big restaurant, but it's nicely decorated inside and has seating for about 50. I ordered their koobideh kabob combo. Koobideh Kabob Combo ($13) - This comes with 2 grilled kabob skewers (ground chicken and ground beef), basmati rice, and grilled tomato. I substituted salad for the rice. The salad was pretty basic: lettuce, julienned carrots, sliced cucumbers and some slices of tomato. It came with a creamy house dressing. The kabobs were juicy and flavorful. Overall I thought the food was pretty good. I wish the salad wasn't so basic, and I was hoping the pricing would be around the $11 mark. But I would probably still stop by to get my Persian food fix! read more

When I stand up to take the different items they had they have only one piece of chicken, in another container they have one piece of lamb, limited salad. And the food was cold I told them about it. Found our new favorite Persian restaurant! I love the presentation of the food, its on silver trays just like in Iran! The restaurant is very small, fits about 35 people inside, with a couple of tables outside for 10 people. We were able to get a table on a Saturday night (for three of us, two adults and a child) for early dinner at 6pm. If you plan to come with a big group, just call ahead to make sure they can have a table for you. Its decorated very nice, and great little place. We ordered the Fesinjoon, and Khoobedieh and Chicken Leg combo meal. It was fantastic! The chicken was the best, so juicy and flavored just perfectly. The only thing I would say is that they did not give us enough rice. Other than that, it was great! Price is very good compared to other Persian restaurants in the area. I removed the star due to service. Water was never refilled. Not once did anyone come by to our table to see how things are. They were busy with many take out orders, and with only one waiter, it made it hard. I can tell they were very overwhelmed. I know they are short staffed, but it was a bit frustrating. I try to forgive as I know they are a new restaurant only opened a couple months. So hopefully can see some improvements soon!
