Chicken koobideh, beef sultani, salmon, shirazi salad, hummus
Heather T.

Stopped in on a Monday a little after opening and went in for the regular menu. We were an hour too early for the buffet (~$19pp) and didn't want to wait. We ordered the chicken koobideh plate, beef sultani plate, salmon, shirazi salad, yogurt sauce, and hummus. We always have a hard time finding chicken koobideh spots nearby, we usually only see chicken kabobs, so we were excited to see they offered it here! My mom enjoyed her chicken koobideh and we liked our beef sultani plate. We weren't huge fans of the hummus and shirazi salad. We liked the pricing, portions, and presentation here. Would come back again for the chicken koobideh and beef sultani, or to try out the buffet.

Kashk o' Bademjan

A very simple and minimalistic space with some tables and chairs. They do have a menu with some classic Persian food that includes kabobs and Persian stews with rice. For starters I always like getting the eggplant (kashk o bademjoon) which came out fairly quick with some pita bread. The flavor was alright but the pita bread was a little too dry and brittle so I waited for my entree to have it with it. As for the entree itself, I had the Beef Soltani (filet and ground combination) with their Cherry rice instead of the white rice. The display of the food was very nice as they use metal round plates to serve them in. The rice was good and the kabobs were tasty as well. I believe the owner was the server, greeter and the food runner himself so he was working hard. I rarely great service in most Persian restaurants just as I did here. It's a good place to simply come and eat food but doesn't have the ambiance and vibe for an event, date or celebration. It would be a great place for take out food.

Fesenjan can be shared.

If you enjoy Fesenjan dish, Shamroon is the best place, so far, to go to! Rich and full of flavor and the chicken breast is tender. The Dolmeh, cooked grape leaves, stuffed with ground beef is superb. And the Kashk o' Bademjan is another delicious appetizer to try. It is fried eggplant mixed with garlic, fried onion and whey. The restaurant isn't big, call to make a reservation will be helpful.

Why do you not have any consideration for customer parking. Your delivery Van belongs in the middle of the parking lot. It should not be in the very front of your store taking up customer part for the adjoining businesses. Be professional and not a user of convenience. If you did not know-you are in a customer service business. Stop being lazy and park away from the front of your store and other businesses.

Ordered via Uber for lunch and this place is fantastic. We have been to the restaurant which of course is better than ordering for delivery but overall the food and service are excellent. We both order the chicken koobideh and it's outstanding. What a fantastic small business and Persian restaurant. The saffron rice and koobideh with a stewed tomato was simply delicious. I highly recommend this fine establishment.

Lamb shank, rice with dill and fava beans it was delicious

First time here & glad we stopped by. It's a small restaurant, very clean and the staff were wonderful. There is plenty of parking available too. My husband had their buffet and loved everything they served. I ordered their lamb shank off the menu, it was delicious. It wasn't gamey, the lamb was so tender it fell off the bone and the broth was delicious. We are picky with our Middle Eastern food and this didn't disappoint. We will definitely be back, highly recommend it.

Came here on a weekday wanting to try out their lunch buffet. However when we took a look at the buffet options, we decided to order off the menu instead. The buffet only had a few options and just didn't look appetizing at all. We ended up getting the tahdig and the beef koobideh to share. The beef koobideh was pretty good, the rice was ok. I didn't like the fact that the man at the front went and grabbed the salad bowl from the buffet to bring to the back to make our side salad. Like they wanted to save costs and gave me buffet food. I guess I should be thankful that he didn't take the koobideh from the buffet and plated it as my meal. The tahdig was not good at all. The rice seemed more like old rice rather than crispy rice. Didn't like that they smothered all the sauces together on the rice cause it just made everything a soggy goopy mess. Too bad their lunch buffet wasn't more abundant so that I could try a little bit of everything.

My family and I are real fans of Persian cuisine so we're always on the lookout to try new restaurants. When my daughter and son-in-law visited my wife and I we decided to try to Shemroon. My favorite Persian dish is fesonjan and Shemroon restaurant has one of the best fesonjans I've tried in Orange County. It's that good! The flavor is nuanced yet rich and the ingredients are generously used in the dish: the ground walnuts and pomegranate molasses and the tender chicken along with the basmati rice. We also had the dolmeh and the kasht o' bedemjan. The dolmeh was superb: the grape leaves were stuffed with generous portions of ground beef, rice, tarrogon, yellow split peas, chives and herbs. Probably the best dolmeh I've had in Orange County. For the kasht o' bedemjan, the mixture of fried eggplant mixed with garlic, whey, and fried onion really worked! It was delicious! The owner of the restaurant served us: he was friendly, helpful and informal. The ambience is that a small, family owed restaurant: casual and the real deal. With so many great Persian restaurants in Orange County it's hard to pick a favorite but Shemroom is now at the top of my list. I will definitely return!

This place is a hit or miss. The first time I visited, it was really great. The vegetarian gheymeh reminded me of my grandmother's, which basically means that it was really good. The second time I went, it was so-so. The food seemed less flavorful and overly oily. The third time, I was just disappointed. My dad didn't seem impressed either. I know this restaurant is big on catering orders, and my personal belief is that when the cooks are preparing for bigger orders and/or events, the food quality goes down for the smaller orders. I can't say that with certainty, but it's just what I've gathered from the few times that I have been. What I will say is that the mast moosir has been very good every-single-time. My mom has also said that it's one of the best that she's ever had. Unfortunately, there is no good way to know if the food quality at this restaurant is going to be consistent when-or-if you decide to visit. It's pretty much a gamble....

Oh. My. Word. I've seen this place a bunch of times when I trip into bagels and brew and I've always thought, I should try that place. I'm so glad I finally did! It's intimidating to eat different kinds of food because you don't feel like you know what to order. The staff I encountered was so patient and kind as they explained to me the different kinds of meat. They make everything made to order and it was wonderfully fresh and delicious. I couldn't believe the portion sizes. I will be eating off of this for the next couple of days. I must try if you love fresh well seasoned food with generous portions! Five stars!

Beef Soltani Kabob

We are hooked! This place offers the best Persian food we have tried in SoCal. We got the kabob which was very juicy and delicious. The way food is served makes it look even more authentic. We loved it. Will definitely come back!

Food is good, service was okay, speed was disappointingly slow…read more I get that these places make their food to order so I expected a wait, but they have the word "express" in their business name so I had a false expectation. Needless to say I sat there waiting for my two to-go orders for what felt like an eternity. A lot of people flowed in after me and they were all just waiting, it was weird since it was empty when I walked in and then seeing 6 tables of people with no food. I thought I ordered the cheaper lunch special of chicken koobideh and beef koobideh, but he punched in the full portion instead. I didn't really mind as it just became extra food for dinner. But I feel like if someone is going in at the beginning of lunch time, they would be looking to order lunch menu stuff? I guess I can't expect people to do what I my logic would do. The two koobidehs is pretty much the same thing I order at any of these places because I prefer ground meat that's tender and juicy and this place did not disappoint. They were cooked to perfections with just a little crisp on the meats. Not much else to say since I only had a basic meal....meals

We ordered the combo beef and chicken plate, the beef gyro plate, and two falafel on the side. The falafel didn't look impressive, but they were surprisingly excellent--moist, flavorful, and honestly better than Sababa's. I'll definitely order six next time. The gyro plate was solid, not overly greasy or heavy, and the seasoning was just right. I wasn't a fan of the hummus, which had a bitter aftertaste, but my partner liked the tanginess, so that may come down to personal preference. On the combo plate, the chicken stood out: juicy and tender. The beef seemed to be a leaner cut and was a bit dry. I'd probably skip this particular beef kebab next time and try a different one. The saffron rice and grilled tomato were a nice complement. The plate also came with jumbo naan, served warm and smelling amazing, definitely a highlight.

I really wanted to like this place, but the experience was honestly disappointing from the moment…read morewe arrived. We showed up around 1 PM, which should be prime lunch time, and the place was completely empty. Not just quiet, I mean literally no one there, which immediately felt off. Even finding the entrance was confusing, especially if it's your first time. The exterior didn't help either. It looked sun-damaged and like it hadn't been maintained in a while, which set the tone before we even walked in. Once inside, things didn't improve. A guy greeted us briefly and ran to the back, and then another staff member asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. The first thing we noticed was how stuffy it felt. No airflow, no ventilation, and when I asked if the AC was on, he said no. At that point, it just didn't feel comfortable staying. My friend and I looked at each other like, are we really about to eat here? That feeling alone says a lot. They do have an outdoor seating setup with what looks like Persian-style lounge seating, which could actually be really nice, but even that area didn't look clean or maintained. It had potential, but it just didn't feel inviting. We ended up leaving, and shortly after, another couple walked in and chose to sit outside, probably for the same reason we didn't want to stay inside. Honestly, this place feels like it could have a good vibe if it were busy and properly maintained, but right now it just feels neglected. Between the confusing entrance, lack of upkeep, and uncomfortable indoor environment, it was an easy decision to walk out.
