Habit Burger & Grill on Culver has been our go to for a long time. Yesterday was a fiasco. My husband waited patiently to get our To-Go order. When he dropped it off both hamburgers were burnt and so were the buns. It felt like a tough bite of nothing. I tried calling the restaurant then was directed to write a complaint online. There was a glitch in the system and it would not submit properly. We have tried to reach out. You definitely need a new cook. Our $38 was wasted. I enjoy the taste of the burgers here and I like that they have a nice selection of condiments. They recently also added more side options including a tempura green beans which I tried this time as it's slightly healthier than fries lol. The reason they got a lower star rating from me today is the slow service and temperature of food. I ordered from the mobile app for the first time as requested a pickup time since I was on a time crunch for lunch. I arrived a few minutes early to check in and was told to wait for text notification. Turns out they were behind so I got my food 11 minutes after the original pickup time while standing by the counter so I saw my food before the text. I looked up online for best burger 2025 and it said The Habit double char. I went in and ordered the double char with fries and a drink. The people were friendly, the food came out fast and tasted amazing. I can see why they it was voted best burger. I used to eat at the Habit burger 4-5 times a week and i loved it. At one point they started to charge for every little thing such as sauces or dressing. I still would go every so often but i went tonight and the portion size and quality of food has gotten so bad i decided to delete the app since i wont be going back. This is my second review here. Last time I said I wouldn't come back, but I decided to give it one more try. Yesterday on my way home, I stopped by and picked up 2 burgers and fries. After about 15 minutes drive home, I opened the bag and realized they gave me a completely different order, a big sandwich and some fried beans. Even though I was already home, I had to get back in the car and drive all the way back. I checked the bag again, and it clearly had my name with 2 burgers and 1 fries on it. When I got there (after dealing with traffic again), the same guy who looked like a manager was still there. I told him the order was wrong, and he just said, "Oh, we gave you Santa Barbara? Just give me two minutes," and quickly remade it. But honestly, I expected at least a simple apology. I still had to drive all the way back home again, and at that point I was thinking maybe I should've just eaten what they gave me instead of wasting another 30 minutes. I also thought if my order got switched, someone else's order might've been messed up too, but they just threw it away in the trash can. Next time I'll just check everything before leaving. Staff: We ordered through the kiosk so there was limited interaction. However they were nice when we picked up our food, and when we left they all said goodbye. Quality/Quantity: The restaurant is spacious, nicely laid out, and clean overall. One of the tables we were going to sit at had a few French fries on the ground. Other than that it was a clean restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious as I've come to expect from the Habit. They've consistently been one of my favorite hamburger places. We visited Habit Burger & Grill and ordered a few items. The food service was a bit slow. When we got the chicken nuggets, two pieces were very small with no meat inside. When we asked for a replacement, the staff said the sizes vary, but my wife showed them the piece with no meat. They ended up replacing all of them. The food quality needs further improvement. Went today for lunch with my family who were out of town visiting and they wanted to try the habit since we always rave about it! Decided to bring them here to my favorite one and like always never disappoints! It was busy but our food was phenomenal! Tried the new Parmesan sandwich and it was delicious as well as your garlic Parmesan fries so good! The employees were so nice to us and even gave us samples of ice cream that was amazing! I'm usually a fan of this Habit location but when I was picking up my order I noticed they had a some sort of robot/machine at the grill either seasoning, timing, or flipping the meat or all three. I got the chicken sandwich and it was the saltiest and driest chicken I've ever had in my life. The texture was literally like sandpaper. But this time for a limited time only they have a Sirloin Steak sandwich which I decided to try. It was really good. I hope they decide to keep it as a regular on their menu. Also when I did try to order on the app just this weekend, it didn't give me sweet potato fries as an option for some reason. The burgers are good and you can always add cheese. I also like that you can make it protein style and they give you a lot of lettuce. I also really enjoy their sides since they have sweet potato fries, or green beans which you can't get elsewhere. I haven't had The Habit for quite a while and now I'm reminded why I stopped eating there. First of all the prices are absolutely ridiculous. $34 for two burgers, fries, and drinks, and it wasn't even the double. The Bacon cheeseburger I had was about as flavorful as a piece of cardboard, plus the fries were extremely well done due to the fact that the employee threw the fries that were sitting in a tray back into the fryer to warm them up. So much like the burger, the fries were about is tasty as cardboard. I'm guessing the second round in the fryer gets rid of all the seasoning.
