I understand gluten free bread probably isn't in big demand in Irvine near a college - but I would guess that the bread they served had expired sometime last week - literally gritty, falling apart like sand with each bite. So bad, that I removed the sand bread that cost an extra few dollars for the gluten free up charge. What stark contrast to the decent ingredients they put on the sub. I got my order per suggestions from @howkeveats, which is a club supreme mike's way with banana peppers and chili relish (I got the same without bacon and subbed the relish for hot honey) and it definitely packed a nice heat. The quality comparison between the meat and cheese (especially the roast beef) and competing brands is HUGE! My son loves Jersey Mike's. We ordered 2 giant #3's to take to the beach today. It was also my first time using the app, which is good since the receipt justifies my complaint. For nearly $40, I received bread, ham, and cheese. I am pretty sure that "Mike's Way" is not dry and nearly tasteless. I was half tempted to dip my sandwich in some ocean water for a little flavor. I can't believe I'm the first person to review this location! My fiancé came here on opening day to pick up some sandwiches and he said he absolutely loved everything about the restaurant. He told me he spun a promotional wheel and won free chips and a drink (which he was really excited about because that also happened to be his birthday!). We loved our sandwiches so much that we returned together this afternoon. They were still running the promotional spin wheel and we earned additional vouchers! This location is incredibly clean, efficient, and has very friendly staff. The owner (or maybe manager?) who was at the promotional tent clearly showed excitement and passion for his business. Online ordering is usually a breeze. Except for today. I arrived not long after my order said it would be ready. I inform the gentleman working the register that I placed an online order. He looks around for 2 minutes only to come back and tell me that someone had picked up my order already. Even stated the thief's name. He goes to the back to tell his manager. Alright I get what this sub is going for. My opinion is that one with a penchant for savory will surely enjoy this. Strong (some might say overwhelming) forward notes of oregano, pepper, and vinegar. Sadly, however, I give this sub a negligible 2.5 stars out of 5. It left me immediately needing a palate change. It lacked the necessaíre neutrality of a creamy mayo, it lacked a hint of sweet.
