Pesto Pasta
Hailey K.

I got an order of the pesto pasta. It was pretty good and came with two pieces of garlic bread on the side. I thought that the portion was large; I shared it with my sister and it was enough for us both. The service was good as well. The area inside is nice and cozy, and there is plenty of outdoor seating.

I work in Newport Beach, and I didn't think I'd have time to grab a pizza at Blaze Pizza across the street at Fashion Island, but my boss was kind enough to have us do Pizza Day today, and I gotta say: I actually LOVE Ameci's. I took a slice of both the Meat Lover's and Pepperoni/Jalapeno, and both of them tasted GREAT. The crust was heated perfectly, and the toppings did not taste cold. The meats on both slices did not taste as salty like the Meat Lover's from Papa John's; but the Meat Lover's I got from Blaze was pretty close to what I had from Ameci's. I would definitely pick up a pizza from Ameci's again, but a little bit closer to home... Hopefully. 4.5 out of 5.

Caesar Salad

This is that restaurant where you get what you are expecting. When you walk in, it gives that classic fast food vibe where you pop in for some pizza or pasta to take home when you are too tired to cook at home. The first time I visited, I got the Baked Rigatoni with a Caesar salad for $10.76 and the second time, I just ordered 2 custom pizza (not pictured) which was approximately $30 total. The Caesar salad was very filling itself! There were plenty of toppings which I appreciated! The Baked Rigatoni was decent as well. The sauce tasted like your classic bottled pasta sauce and the pasta itself was a little overdone. It breaks apart so easily when you put a fork through it. There was also plenty of cheese on the pasta dish. I did like that the salad was overall very refreshing and the pasta was steaming hot when I picked up my order. The pizza was a similar experience. It was just your average fast food pizza, similar to Domino's and Pizza Hut. There were plenty of toppings once again so no complaints there. Ameci's is like an Italian chipotle! Would I go back? Only if I was really busy/hungry or just bored of the normal fast food restaurants.

Garlic Cheese Breadsticks

Our family has been ordering from Ameci for years, and it never disappoints. The pizza is always just right--not too thick or doughy--and the garlic bread is incredible! The staff is quick and friendly, and it's a great value for the amount of food you get. We often order it when we have guests, and it's always a hit. Love that they have multiple locations too, which makes it easy to enjoy whenever we want. Definitely recommend, and make sure to get the garlic cheese bread!!

The food is outstanding. Fresh ingredients. Low prices. Great deal for the money. The cashiers are eye candies. Restaurant is clean and spacious. Many sport team kids live there to add joy to the space. If you are happy or want to be happy and lucky, go here.

He swears it is the best New York style pizza in California that he's tried. I had to try it as well. We ended up getting the largest pie you could buy with pepperoni on one side for him and pepperoni and pineapple with extra sauce for me. Don't judge me. Lol The pizza was absolutely delicious and on the side there was red pepper, oregano, Parmesan cheese, and garlic powder. I have the latter three and let me tell you that combination added so much good flavor to the already delicious pizza. From the crust to the cheese to the toppings; every bite left you wanting another. The ambience of the restaurant was rather pleasant and I appreciated how many open tables there were. There was an outside patio with some old-school arcade games and made for good environment for people wanting to get away after a solid day of work and enjoy some great pizza. The service we experienced was stellar as well The staff was friendly and hospitable upon arriving to when we left. Thank you for serving us and bringing the pizza to our table. I look forward to coming here again and trying some different ingredients. If you decide to come here, let me know. I'd be happy to join you. --Derrek with 2Rs

First time here and last time…read more We were greeted at the door by a young man who checked our reservation and led us to a table. The tables for two are so small that you can only get two plates and a fork and then run out of room. We like to share so we always place some plates in the middle - we asked for a table for four - barely large enough for us as we looked at the tables and the young man switched to "snit mode" and took offense as he explained why - in a restaurant full of empty tables - they needed the tables for four to be available. We insisted and prevailed but not without a definite signal that we were now "on his shit list" of new customers. The server was excellent very attentive. Only disappeared once for 15 minutes but then showed up again (thank you Megan) and never lapsed again. The table arrangement tipped us off immediately. The tables were arranged in "rack and stack" mode with tables set side by side with only barely enough room for someone to pass between tables - a very thin person - and so immediately we saw rows of tables so close as to be uncomfortable. That and the extremely loud music had us getting up to leave almost immediately. It didn't help that the table next to us had three people having a liquid lunch and screaming and laughing at the top of their lungs (I think) perhaps we should have given more notice to the purple and green hair? We couldn't hear each other talk in a normal voice. The server came with menus so we decided to sit and take a look at the menu. Too bad we didn't act on first impressions. We decided to split a vegetable salad - very good and seemed fresh - and a lasagna - the pasta was clearly homemade in the kitchen (very good) and the meat sauce mediocre at best with no flavor and some very hard toast triangles to remind us what 70-year-old teeth feel like when trying to bite concrete for lunch. So a warning....this is not your dark and quiet relaxing Italian Restaurant....they have their own idea and believe me it's not relaxing....they envision stacking people into a very fast and efficient amazingly small table next to hundreds of people who are all competing to be heard across the table....this is kind of like NY Italian....servers one to take your order and other very strong gentlemen to deliver your food. And deliver your food they do very fast and unpleasantly. We might have enjoyed the food more but the loud music persisted and we finally left after ordering dessert - gelato and a cappuccino that we quickly vacated and left behind. Try this one if you must but just be aware that if you're looking for Italian and a relaxing experience you may be disappointed.

Dear Owner, I…read moresincerely hope you take the time to read this because my experience at your restaurant was absolutely unacceptable. Your establishment is genuinely one of the biggest catfishes I have ever experienced. The way your restaurant is advertised online compared to the actual service and food quality is honestly embarrassing. First of all, let's talk about your bald male manager, because I genuinely cannot understand how someone with such a horrible attitude is placed in a management position. His customer service was absolutely nonexistent. He was rude, dismissive, unwelcoming, and completely unprofessional. This man had the personality of a rock, and it genuinely seemed like interacting with paying customers was an inconvenience to him. When I asked him what he would recommend from the menu for our table, he gave us absolutely ZERO suggestions. Not one recommendation, not one helpful answer, not even the slightest effort to guide us through the menu. How are you managing a restaurant when you cannot even recommend something from your own establishment? That is literally one of the most basic parts of working in hospitality. A customer should be able to ask about popular dishes, house specialties, or what the restaurant is known for and receive a helpful response. Instead, we were met with absolutely no enthusiasm, no knowledge being offered, and no interest in helping us. And here comes the most ridiculous part. This same manager adds the biggest tip for himself! I find that absolutely outrageous considering the level of service we received. How can someone put absolutely no effort into providing a pleasant dining experience and then expect to receive the largest gratuity? Tips should be earned through excellent service, not treated as an entitlement. If you are adding gratuities to customers' bills, there should be complete transparency about those charges and where that money is going. Now let's discuss the food. THE CALAMARI WAS UNDERCOOKED. I cannot believe I paid to eat at a restaurant only to be served seafood that did not appear to be properly cooked. That is completely unacceptable. Seafood needs to be prepared carefully, and the last thing a customer should have to worry about after eating at your establishment is whether they might wake up the next morning with food poisoning. Instead of enjoying my evening, I left genuinely concerned about what I had eaten. What makes this entire experience so frustrating is that none of these expectations are unreasonable. I was not asking for special treatment, free food, or anything extraordinary. I simply expected properly prepared food, a manager who could offer basic menu recommendations, and respectful customer service. Apparently, even those simple expectations were too much for this establishment. As the owner, you should genuinely be concerned about the impression your management is leaving on customers. Your employees, especially your managers, represent your business. When someone in charge cannot answer basic questions about the menu, treats guests with an attitude, and appears more interested in collecting tips than delivering decent service, it reflects poorly on the entire establishment. I strongly encourage you to review how gratuities are being handled, evaluate your management's approach to customer service, and address the quality control coming out of your kitchen. Nobody should be leaving your restaurant feeling disrespected, disappointed, and concerned about whether their food was safe to eat. Your restaurant might look appealing online, but attractive pictures mean absolutely nothing when the actual experience is this terrible. I spent my hard-earned money expecting a nice dining experience, and instead, I received rude management, zero menu guidance, questionable food preparation, and an experience I would never want to repeat. My advice to your bald manager: Before worrying about receiving the biggest tip, perhaps learn how to provide service that actually deserves one. A management title means absolutely nothing when you cannot demonstrate basic hospitality. I sincerely hope you take these concerns seriously because this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I have ever had. ZERO STARS if I could. I will not be returning, and I certainly would not recommend this establishment based on my experience.
