Pizza texture and flavor were good. I think the ambiance of the place stood out more to me - I saw more people eating outside than inside. The inside was kind of small and definitely people just wait to take their order to go. I was surprised that, despite only two people ahead of me, the wait took almost 30 minutes, awkwardly while I had people waiting in the car. I expected them to just serve up the slice that's already prepared at the window.

Sugo Pizza was so good! The pizza was fresh, flavorful, and had the perfect crust. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and every slice was delicious. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was great, and I'll definitely be coming back. Easily one of my favorite pizza spots I've tried recently!

Pizza is always delish!!! Very friendly service. I use toast app for easy pick up! Rotating options are always fun to try.. the vegetarian ones look good too. It's a small spot with a few express tables if you need to eat immediately. I always do take away and eat it like a hour or so later and throw in the oven to reheat.

EDIT: Sandro, the owner reached out to me and made me aware that they improved a lot of our processes since I ate here, especially with their online orders. They have gone through a dough upgrade so that the pizzas can travel better. Unfortunately I live out of state and cannot give them another try, but keep this in mind when you see my review. REVIEW: My review is specially for a Togo order. We placed it for a specific time, picked it up a couple minutes past the "it's ready" message, and drove it 6 minutes back to our hotel. By the time we opened up the box, the pizza looked phenomenal, but was cold and tasteless. I was extremely disappointed because the reviews for this location are great, and the pizza was overpriced. I would not recommend ordering Togo, or eating here in general.

First time at Sugo and was so impressed! They have a large variety of pizzas to choose from that can be ordered by the slice or whole. All pizzas are available in their display case, and once you order your flavor, they will bake it and have it out to you in no time! I especially appreciated how flexible the staff was. They were able to make any of the flavors without cheese (dairy-free) by request. They let me know it would take a bit longer to be ready, but I did not mind waiting. I ordered the Contadina pizza that came with italian sausage, caramelized onions, and chives. It was absolutely delicious and immediately had me excited to come back and order again!

Every one of the pizzas was filled with toppings and cooked to order. I love the display for all the choices and helpful servers to answer questions. The crust bread is SO tasty and fresh. I'm coming back just to have crust like this check out the photos for the deets!!!

I'm not a big pizza person, but this place is pretty good! I love how they have their own unique toppings and mix to their pizzas. The service here is amazing and the interior is so clean and aesthetically pleasing :3 ! I tried the chorizo pastor and the yo mama and the yo mama was my fav out of the two because it was more flavorful.

I saw this on IG and bookmarked this place in hopes of trying it. Here I am and wow the pizza was so amazing. I was a bit hesitant to try it but the Japanese was expectedly delicious. Both pizza were delicious. If I'm near I will definitely come back for the other favors.

I'd been wanting to try this place for a while, and I finally stopped by to pick up a couple of pizzas. The place is small with just a few seats along the wall. I ordered the Queso Fundido and the Japanese pizza -- both were incredibly unique and packed with flavor. The crust was crispy, light, and perfectly done. The Japanese pizza was surprisingly delicious; the combination of mozzarella, sautéed mushrooms, porchetta, kewpie miso sauce, and bonito flakes worked really well together. Every bite had a great balance of savory and umami flavors. The Queso Fundido was also excellent, topped with mozzarella, Mexican spicy sausage, oven-roasted potatoes, charred poblano peppers, and tomatillo sauce. It was flavorful and well-executed. Overall, both pizzas were creative, memorable, and absolutely worth trying.

Pizza is always fresh and creative combinations . We always come here and it's local and easy to come too . They have seasonal ones too so make sure you follow their social media to get updates. They have a Nutella one sometimes that is delicious!

Great variety of flavors. Love how you can get it by the slice (a decently large slice!). I do wish the crust was a little less baked so when they reheated it it wasnt as crispy. Overall would go back to try again.

Finally tried Sugo on their two-year anniversary. Loved the creative flavors of their Roman-style pizza! Slices range from $6.60-$8.50, with specials at $9. They cut each slice in half, which makes it perfect for sharing! We got four slices to share between two people, which was more than enough. My fave was the Japanese slice with porchetta, shiitake mushrooms, bonito flakes and miso kewpie mayo drizzle. The Killer Bee is another winner, with pepperoni, hot honey and Gorgonzola. While I like the Chorizo Al Pastor, it was a little on the spicy side for me (great if you like it hot). The Margherita was a little boring by comparison. Looking forward to seeing what other interesting flavors they develop! Limited seating indoors and outdoors. You can also order online (which is what I did).

This was place was so nice had to come twice!! Very happy the first time with the variety of the flavors and perfect pizza squares that came out. Jeseila helped us with the most popular flavors and which ones customers like the most. She was great! I got 3 different flavors and this second time around im trying out 3 new flavors because the first ones were so good. Excited to finished these slices and be back again!

Yes there is seating indoors but it's more spacious outside, especially when it's busy since most people wait indoors

    I don't think they do.

I'm not sure if they (still?) offer panini at Sugo, but they have panini at Bello!

We were in the Costa Mesa are before we were going to head out back north and my crew wanted to have this deep dish pizza again. What we liked was the crust was so good. It wasn't overly cornmealish like some of these "authentic" Chicago pizza places. I grew up out here in the west, so I'm used to a more flaky light crust. My first Deep Dish Chicago pizza was Zachary's in Berkeley in the Bay Area. This Costa Mesa location is located just south of the 405 at Harbor Blvd. Go to Baker Street and turn left and it's right there. Easy Parking. One thing you gotta know about the deep dish pizzas, they take longer to cook cause they're just so big and need more cooking time, like maybe 35-40 minutes, depending on how busy the kitchen is. We get a classic combo pizza and have some drinks while we wait. It arrives and oh boy does that look good. Dishing it out takes a little practice, but we're good at that now! Everybody loves the flavor and crust. This isn't the cheapest pizza round, but well worth the price and wait. You want cheap go to Straw Hat or something like that.
