Unfortunately I should have read the reviews. This place attempts to compensate for poor quality food at outrageous prices simply due to the view/ambiance. I ordered the seafood tower for 2 and was barely given enough food for one person - at $95 this was ridiculous. Our friend had the blackened ahi tuna, and it was just okay. Drinks were sub par. Service was not terrible, but there was a moment after our meals where we could not find the waiter and he did not come to check in with us. Do not eat here. The prices are outrageous, and the view does not make up for the poor quality. Disappointing to say the least. read more

Terrible once again. one year after we dined here for my mother in law's birthday and we were VERY disappointed last year in how bad the service and menu had become... we decided to give it another chance. and ir was still JUST AS BAD. First of all the hostesses couldnt even figure out that 10 people cannot fit on two 4 tops. So immediately we showed up and had to wait ten minutes for the hostess to move us to the same table we had last year that actually fit all of us. PALISADE HAS MERELY BECOME AN EXteNSION of a cruise ship. That's the clientele and that is the level of service. gONE is the level of service we received years ago. It's literally a menu catered to Carnival cruisers. they've given up on the local clientele and this is abundantly clear. Had a reservation for Friday night, noting it was a birthday celebration and requested seats by the window. The nighttime views were beautiful and I was taking pictures with my friends all night. Food came out shortly, starting with the crab and lobster dip. The bread was soft and warm and the dip was flavorful. Our main courses came out soon after that and we each enjoyed the seafood and seasonal vegetables in our entrees. Lastly we ordered some crème brûlée for dessert, complimentary for birthdays! The top was crispy with a smooth creamy inside. The only reason for one star off was some miscommunication when ordering and paying the bill with our server. The setting is beautiful and the food was overall good. My main complaint are the somewhat sluggish service and the extremely high prices for what you get. We ended up paying $200 for lunch consisting of an appetizer dip, a pasta entre, and a mahi mahi entre. We also had 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of wine. I didn't appreciate the aggressive upselling by the waiter either. Extra parsley butter was forcefully added to my wife's fish to the tune of $3 on top of already $41. I also hate when restaurants add a "living wage" item at 5% to the bill; pay your employees instead!!! At these price levels *you* should be able to pay your employees and not add it to the tab. read more

So amazing! The service was phenomenal! We visited on 2/8/25 and I completely forgot our waitresses name but it started with a C and she was blonde and she was the sweetest! She made sure all of our questions were answered and always made sure there was room on the table for the food that was on the way. The food was amazing and everyone was so attentive. Our dinner was timed perfectly with the appetizers arriving and we had a bit of time after we finished them before our dinner arrived so we had time to get hungry again. Meh. I've been coming here since they opened 30 years ago and it's less good each time the last ~10 years. For the money there are better places; the view is amazing, but tonight my wife and I sat down and waited ~20 minutes for any service. Ordered drinks and waited another 40 minutes until they came ("the bar is really backed up"); it took ~25 min of those to have our waiter come back and ask how we were doing and take app orders. When the drinks finally came, they were just ahead of the two appetizers, and the server with the apps just set them down right where my drink would have been set; I had to move it out of the way because neither of them seemed to see it was a problem even though there was lots of room at the table. The beef tartare has good flavor, but it's made from a cheap cut of meat with gristle. They should serve it with dental floss. Advice: Never order it... Then we waited another 45 minutes for entrees. The server who placed them just put them down in front of us and didn't bother to notice or ask about the lack of knives. By the time we flagged someone down to request knives, the entrees were cold. The level of service to notice that knives are missing upon service of a plate should be pretty easy to train, but it's missing here at Palisade. When those were done and cleared we were offered dessert menus and I was inclined to try the "new" butterscotch bread pudding, but by the time our waiter came back to ask 30 minutes later we were so far beyond done that we just asked for the check. We have an e-gift card and wanted to use it; that took another 20 minutes to have the waiter come back with the check to sign it. We won't be back for any kind of sit down meal; we'll burn the rest of the gift card for cocktails at the bar someday. Literally 3 hours after arrival we walked out shaking our heads at the disappointment. Just like Salty's on Alki has gone downhill since opening, Palisade is special only for the view of downtown Seattle across the water. There are better places for a special dinner though...the service and attention to detail are no better than Ivar's. read more

Ambiance; great before sunset! After it's dark the atmosphere is atrociously dark... you can't see your food and looking at the menu again without the use of your phone flashlight is impossible. Good view of the many boats outside in the marina but hard to see anything else. To the far left side you can see Downtown Seattle in the far distance. Overall, I've had better views. Staff: the front desk was attentive and got us our table right away. Aaron our server was great if not a little spazmatic. It's a good thing because you can see he cares about his job. He was very helpful when picking out wine but we didn't end up liking the first few selection. Food: we ordered the crab cakes, and the crab and lobster dip. Both were excellent and we would order that again. I ordered the Sake marinated black cod and it was great with the zucchini ribbons although, the ribbons were basically all one piece which I wasn't expecting to cut up into bite size pieces. My partner got the Grilled seafood trio which he believed was well done except the sauce wasn't as good as mine. For dessert we got the cheesecake (not made in house) but had a crumble topping with sauce that was pleasant. Overall, good food but I'd try a different dessert. I was disappointed to find out at the end of the night that they are one of the restaurants who choose to add on a "Livingwage Surcharge". This is 5% of your total bill. This is not a built in tip for the waiter or staff, unless you're counting the owner(s) pocket. It is an extra charge for eating at their establishment. Simply, I will never be back. The atmosphere was fantastic and the view was gorgeous. I recommend planning your visit at sunset on a nice clear day. The soothing melodies of classic jazz provided the perfect backdrop, elevating the entire ambiance and making the evening feel even more magical. Our waiter was very attentive and professional. Dining in the age of COVID-19.... Interesting! Palisade is a long-time favorite for my husband and I. We've been multiple times for special dinners, birthdays, and all-you-can-eat brunches. My husband works on Sundays so when I saw Palisade was open for reservations, I had to make one to take him for an early Father's Day Dinner! Making a reservation is easy as always. When you arrive, there's a sign on the door instructing you to wear a mask when you are moving about the restaurant and not at your table. Otherwise, you're good to have your mask off. When walking in, you'll notice there's a LOT of open space because tons of chairs and tables have been removed to promote social distancing. Another interesting change - there's nothing on the tables anymore besides your silverware, plates, and napkins. No candles, no flowers, nothing of the sort - the less that needs to be sanitized every time a guest comes in, the better! Menus are also disposable menus now. The menu is also different these days. There's still a great selection of offerings, but there's a lot of new items - my VERY FAVORITE Crab Dip is no longer on there which seriously broke our heart, but made it so we had to venture outside the box for once. For appetizers, we went with a California Roll and the Kung Pao Calimari. The California Roll tasted SO incredibly fresh! It was amazing. The Kung Pao Calimari was spectacular - my husband couldn't stop saying "wow." The breading on it was so light and it packed so much flavor in one bite. Highly recommend. For our dinner, my husband went with the special for the evening which was a filet & and lobster tail with thai chili sauce. He absolutely loved his meal and I tried a bite of his lobster... Neither one of us got the thai chili flavor at all, more of just garlic butter, but it was still delicious and cooked to perfection! For my dinner, I traded out the American Wagyu Sirloin for a filet and got the Filet & Salmon Oscar. I have never had salmon served oscar style and let me just say.... Holy shit. SO good. I couldn't get enough! The steak was also cooked to perfection, it was so delicious. For our first dinner out since all of this COVID-19 stuff started, it was an amazing one. The service was on point and the food was even better. I really hope we can bring the crab dip & infamous all-you-can-eat brunches back one day... Disappointing! We went there for Brunch and a special celebration and from the start it was a disappointing experience. The doors were locked, they opened late, the hostess did not greet us, everyone was just standing in the lobby. Finally, about 15 minutes after our reservation someone seated us. Sadly, the standard has slipped on this former excellent restaurant with an unbeatable view. The tablecloths were wrinkled, silverware spotted, glasses had lipstick on the rims, all in all Management seems to not care. The food was good and but is became evident that their popularity has slipped since the restaurant was mostly empty during a usually busy holiday season. read more

Oh, dear, what has happened to our once venerated Seattle restaurant, Palisade? I feel a mix of sadness, anger, and possible contraction of food poisoning after the abysmal Christmas Eve we spent there. This is what a $75.00 prix-fix evening consisted of: waiting for 35 minutes for an 8:45 seating, no one offering to have us sit in the bar to wait, once we finally were seated, waiting for drinks for at least 20 minutes, the waitstaff giving high-fives and calling it an evening when we hadn't even been served dinner (we were sitting next to the kitchen entrance), cloyingly sweet salmon, fishy oil-soaked black cod, and all delivered lukewarm. I did have a good salad, and the dessert was good, although we had to doggie-bag it because the restaurant was essentially closing down. You've been forewarned - there are many Seattle view restaurants that still live up to their name, but Palisade is no longer one of them. read more

They finally got a webmaster to update their site. On Saturday, Oct 21 drove 45 mins for their happy hour. I mean, they had a happy hour menu on their website and text that said they had happy hour. We arrived at 4:15 and sat in the bar. We were presented with full menus. When we asked about the happy hour they told us, "we don't have happy hour." I was confused. It's on your website. "You must have looked up the site on Google. If you do that it shows we have happy hour. We haven't had it since 2019." Wait, what? First off - I used Bing and Safari. Second - you haven't updated your site since 2019. Third - stop gaslighting me! We asked at the front desk and they gave us the same run around about "google". What a wreck of a customer service experience. And by the way, Google would be out of business if they showed +3 year old websites. But sure, tell your staff the same lunatic story to tell your customers. At least as of October 25 you updated your site...or was it Google, Bing and Safari that are all updated? read more

Love the views and the decor. For the price, it's always hit and miss, their sister restaurant below is much more consistent. Today went in for Seattle Restaurant Week, which I even included in the notes when I made the reservation, but unavailable on Sundays apparently. We were already there and hungry so decided to stay. Coconut shrimp appetizer was good, and my partner's Salmon and Shrimp Louie was good, my Chicken Caesar was good but not a lot of chicken and was also cold so not cooked to order which you would expect at this type of establishment. Drinks were good, but had the same one a year ago. Server was very friendly and she was very courteous to other tables that needed extra attention. I'm sure I'll be back, but I was really looking forward to trying the Slow Roasted Prime Rib & Garlic Shrimp for restaurant week. Are they going downhill? We always love to come to Palisade for a special occasion and we have been impressed every time but not today. My husband made a reservation last minute for a Mother's Day and it was available. I was happy he reserved here. We called in as we were running late and they were able to hold the table for us. Good that we still were able to go the seat right by the window. That sounds great right? But things got worse right afterward. The waiter is not bad but not to our expectation either. When ordering food, he kept asking how many. it was a bit weird but it's not a big deal though. He was able to help out a few things as I will mention next. Food took for-ever. The waiter has warned us so we ordered food immediately. But it was too long and my 2 kids were not able to sit still. We were asking for a crayon sheet right after seated but never got it. Since they were starting being annoying, we asked for it again and they gave it mot long after. Note I brought other things for them to play too but new things would interest them too. We were asking if we can get any bread when we ordered the food. The server said he will see if he can do anything but nothing happened. We were fine but since food took too long. I decided to ask again and then he brought the bread. It definitely helped since food took almost an hour. We ordered 3 main entrees and appetizer. Appetizer came around the time we got bread (the second time we asked for). Then almost 20 mins after, the entree came. Chicken from rotisserie chicken was too salty. Since we also order Louise salad, we just dipped chicken to the dressing and it did help. Egg Benedict is another unacceptable dish. Poach eggs are far from perfect and the muffin was so tough to chew. One of the eggs came watery on the plate. Of course, with the hungriness, we finished all the food. Last, a FLY kept flying on the window. I was very annoyed by that but didn't wanna ruin the Mother's Day lunch. We saw a couple tables near us called the manager and their bills got taking care of. We didn't want to bother that. We thought we would have a better experience and since we had been sitting for many hours with kids, we didn't wanna bother. Palisade has really gone downhill since pre-pandemic. My partner and I both had very fond memories of the weekend brunch buffet. This has apparently, been discontinued. Palisade knows that this is a major attraction for them - because they called me twice for previous reservations I had that happened to fall on Easter and Mother's Day - to warn me that the service would NOT be their buffet. However, after finally rescheduling for a non-holiday weekend...I feel a little intentionally tricked. We were seated and it was immediately clear that the buffet was not running. Furthermore, the menu only had 5 dishes. The server was very kind, and he informed us that the buffet feature had ended and instead the restaurant was working on "perfecting their menu and current recipes". I thought this was a PR spin and assumed they ended the buffet because they weren't making enough profit off of it. Well, to my surprise it was not simply a PR spin because what we did order was completely disappointing and service was incredibly slow. It's clear that not only are they understaffed, but the staff on hand does not have much experience. I ordered a lobster and shrimp frittata. For $30 I received a lukewarm frittata that had 2 pieces of shrimp and 1 very small piece of lobster on top only (no seafood in the frittata). My partner ordered a crab cake benedict and his english muffin wasn't even toasted enough. Seriously...Palisade can no longer toast an english muffin. His food was also lukewarm. The cocktails were good, but they took about 30 minutes to receive because there was 1 bartender and 3 large parties. Our server was very professional and clearly doing his best to cover the majority of the restaurant. Our bill was $97 before tip and we truly felt that we would have gotten a more impressive, and warmer brunch, at a cheaper diner instead. We will not be back to Palisades. read more

From out of town, my partner and I decided to spend Thanksgiving Lunch here. It was a great 3 course meal. The serving sizes were just right. We were able to eat all plates with no leftovers. I was there two weeks ago on a Wednesday night. First of all, it's extremely hard to find in the dark. The company should have better signage and have more visible signs. This is grey dark rainy weather. I was with a table of five other people. My food was highly salted. It was like somebody's hand slipped on the salt shaker. I had to have them redo it and even then it was highly salty. This was restaurant week and I ordered a fish dish. It was not worth the $54 plus tip. I would not be going back. I do not recommend this restaurant The one bright spot was our server Dani who was superb. You could not ask for better service but the aggravation with the food, trying to find the place in the dark with terrible signage, and the outrageous price for the meal is not a restaurant I could recommend to locals or visitors. Not a good spot to come if you have any sort of food allergy, especially for how expensive it is. Someone in our party has a lactaid allergy. We asked if a dish had dairy it and assured it didn't. Once the dish got to the table, it was clear that it did. The kitchen then confirmed it did. Our server suggested that we get multiple sides. Once the new "side" dish came, it very obviously was sprinkled in cheese. We told the sever, she brought a third dish, still sprinkled in cheese. Went to this restaurant on Valentine's Day to celebrate with my wife. The decoration was great and we were seated right away. However our food was served 1.45 hours after we ordered because they lost the ticket for the order. The pasta was great but the steak was overcooked. Not worth it at all. The only good thing was the view. The brunch menu was very limited, and the choices are not good. Even the tables next to us barely ate their frittata. The silverwares were dirty with water spots. They were taken out and the server forgot to replace them. We were served the food and had to ask and wait for silverwares. Came here for an early birthday dinner. We arrived early, before opening, so we took advantage if the lovely surroundings and walked along the water. It was lovely! Anyways, it was a weekday and it wasnt busy, so we were able to be seated right away without a reservation. Service was okay. They were friendly and pleasant, but i didnt feel that personal touch. I quite liked my prime rib. Even as medium well, it was flavorful and tender. My husband ordered Ribeye on the bone. He asked for a medium, but it was overcooked, a bit more than medium well. He also thought it was weird that it was coated in some kind of barbecue sauce. My dad ordered salmon, which he enjoyed. Dessert also went fast. a nice restaurant, maybe dressy casual. Beautiful views of the water and trees. And the kids enjoyed checking out the koi pond inside the restaurant as well. Plenty of parking! read more
