View of the marina from the interior of the restaurant.

It's been a few years since I last dined at Palisade. I'll start with the good: the restaurant location is beautiful. It's located right up on the water and a large majority (if not all) of the tables have some sort of water view and the nearby docked yachts. The waitress was very friendly. The interior has a nice water feature though much of the restaurant could use a refresh (i.e., the carpeting, bathroom, etc.) I ordered my steak medium and it came out medium well. Not a super big deal if you exclude the fact that this is a more upscale restaurant with prices that correspond to this. I also noticed that the complimentary butter and bread wasn't a thing here unless you specifically ask. Overall, I just wasn't as impressed as I thought I would have been with such a nice location and view. My wife ordered the Mediterranean Chicken and though tasty, the portion size was small. The mocktails were good (according to her) and my Manhattan was alright. Overall, I appreciate the good service from the waitress (and we tipped accordingly), the food was mediocre, and the entire experience was slightly disappointing. I do appreciate that there was not an automatically applied gratuity (they only do this with parties of 8 or more).

One of my favorite dinner spots in Seattle. The crab dip is one of my favorite foods ever and I get it every time I'm here. The view of the water is amazing here and coming here during Christmas time is my favorite when they have all the lights and decor. My most recent trip here was awesome, I went with my family and had the pleasure of having the server Leon. He was such a nice guy and had a great sense of humor that made my family and I laugh. The food was amazing once again and it was a great sunny day.

Food - We came for restaurant week, so we both started off with the clam chowder. Good portion and delicious. They gave us bread & butter to start, so I actually dipped some bread into the clam chowder which made it kinda nicer. I had the sirloin. Don't judge but I like my steak well done. I actually asked for med-well because I get embarrassed asking for well done, but it actually came well done. The potatoes were really good, but the asparagus was just ok. For dessert I had the creme brulee. The sugar topping was kind of thick which made the whole dessert really sweet. It was nice that it had fruit on top because that helped cut into the sweetness. I tried a bite of my husband's key lime pie, but I don't really like key lime anyways so it was not for me. Service - Excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. He even mentioned the smoker for the drinks wasn't working well so he could still bring the smokey drink, but it might not live up to expectations. Totally appreciate that! They also boxed up our food for us at the end of the night. Ambiance - upscale. Good for fancy dates and big occasions. Tons of large parties when we went. The location is beautiful! I think you can also rent out the sunroom, which we didn't sit in. The sun was setting while we were there and it was very romantic. The entrance also has a pond with a waterfall.

Palisade is such a beautiful place to celebrate a special occasion. The views are stunning, especially overlooking the water and marina, which makes the whole experience feel really special. The service was great and the staff made the evening feel memorable. I celebrated an anniversary here and it was the perfect setting for it. Between the scenery, the atmosphere, and the attentive service, it made for a really lovely celebration

Food was delicious and plentiful. Our server Leon was attentive knowledgeable of menu and funny! We were there celebrating a graduation. We were all happy with our food of choices, the crab dip is the best! Scenery of Marina is beautiful.

When you enter this restaurant it is beautiful! Definitely a lovely dining experience. We were a large party of about 15. Our server was excellent and attentive. The appetizers and main dishes were delicious. It is a little pricey, but I'd definitely recommend.

    Seafood tower. Not good

We came here last night to celebrate my birthday. What a mistake. Both service and food were not good. I made a reservation here which they called to confirm. I put in both the reservation notes and also told them when they called that we needed a high chair for my toddler. When we got to the table there wasn't one and the hostess seemed annoyed when I told her we needed one and said she would see if they had one. Service was insanely slow from the beginning to the end. It took forever to put in our orders and food was slow to arrive. I finally asked after having been there for close to an hour and a half where the kids meals were for the 2 kids in the party and they said would rush them out because they hadn't put for them to come out earlier. The kids were starving at that point. It should be common sense to bring out the food for kids earlier. We got the seafood tower which wasn't good. It was supposed to be for 2 but came with half of a lobster tail, 2 shrimp, some poke, 1 crab leg, and 2 oysters and mussels. For the price, the portion was very small and nothing was remarkable. We also got the yellowfin sushi roll which was fine but didn't have much flavor. I got the Caesar and wasn't a fan. The dressing was watery and I didn't like the peppery dressing they also put on it. The rest of the table got the apple Gorgonzola salad and said the dressing was overly sweet. The entrees came out at the almost 2 hour mark which was ridiculously slow given that the restaurant was maybe half full. The food was fine but lacked flavor. The crab cake we added on wasn't crispy at all and was kind of mushy. Desserts also weren't great. My brother in law ordered an affogato and was served a gravy boat full of espresso and a massive bowl of ice cream, which is not at all how it should come. For a fine dining restaurant, nothing was well executed. He also had ordered a Coke and only got one refill despite being there for almost 3 hours. We had to ask for the refill too and the waitress seemed annoyed for us asking. Definitely stay far away from here. Dinner was around $900 for 4 adults and 2 kids and was absolutely not worth it. What a disappointing birthday.

Service was definitely 5 stars. Our server, Justin, was fabulous. Let me just state that at the top. Made a reservation here for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. When submitting the reservation online, I noted that it was their 50th wedding anniversary and that we'd prefer a table by the window if possible. I later called and verbally confirmed the reservation and reiterated it was their 50th wedding anniversary. One of the reasons I booked here was because of what they supposedly do for anniversaries. Well, that part was a bust. No acknowledgment of their anniversary - their 50th anniversary- at all. Not when we checked in, not anywhere on the table, and our server didn't know until we told him. When we arrived, I noted that we were ok waiting if it meant a table by the window. We were seated shortly after and did score a great table. Our server seemed to think we were a different reservation, commenting "Welcome back!" when it was our first time there. The menu is on the simple side. This a basic fancy seafood and steak restaurant. This isn't where you'll find a new twist on something classic, a fancy foam, etc. The cocktails we had were great. The seafood was definitely fresh. But all of our entrees were overcooked. Since I had the salmon, I didn't mind (I actually like it cooked a little longer). But for a wagyu steak? Not ok - especially when it was ordered medium rare and delivered well done. The server and manager, however, were incredibly nice about it. Everything was wonderfully taken care of - above and beyond. But there was something with the kitchen and/or timing going on. Everything was good and tasty. It was especially great that the teens found their meals enjoyable. My parents were overall happy with the experience too. (But I could tell they were hoping for something a little more on the next level.) The ambiance is nice. A little basic. The big thing is the view. And it's a nice view (but nothing all that amazing). So overall, it's overhyped, but the service is outstanding. And we did have an enjoyable meal and experience.

TDLR: Great place for a celebratory dinner. Not too pricey. $4 / oyster. One complaint is my 10oz ribeye came with about 3 oz of fat. Just personal preference. Service was fast and friendly. Great picturesque, indoor water feature that flows through the front and middle of the restaurant. Food was tasty but I wouldn't say it was anything I haven't tasted before. At a higher end restaurant, a different or exciting taste is something I look forward to, whether that's in the main dishes, appetizers or sides. Didn't get to try dessert because we had a show to catch. Would be interested to see what those taste like !

Sake Marinated Black Cod - Seattle Restaurant Week
    Carol C.

I love coming here for Seattle Restaurant Week for the good food and value. The 3 course comes with delicious New England Clam Chowder or Caesar Salad, but I always get the chowder, always. For entrees, we got the Prime Rib, Shellfish Linguine and my favorite, the Sake Marinated Black Cod, which comes with a shrimp cake, shiitake mushrooms, zucchini ribbons with coconut lemon grass curry. We all enjoyed our meals. Dessert options included Key Lime Pie or Creme Brulee. Hubby wanted the Chocolate Turtle Cake from the dessert menu, which we ordered instead for an additional charge. This is definitely a place we visit when we're looking for a nice meal out or celebrating a special occasion. The food is always tasty, but the service can be spotty with food sequencing and being served luke-warm coffee. Once addressed, it was quickly remedied. Even with the minor mishaps, we plan to return.

We ate at Palisade on Thanksgiving, but most of the dishes we ordered are also on their regular menu. The restaurant location is slightly off the beaten path, tucked away near the marina in Magnolia. It is right on the water and the view of West Seattle, Downtown and the marina is great. We even saw an otter and some different sea birds while dining! The restaurant is well decorated and feels slightly upscale to some other seafood restaurants in town, so this is a great option for special occasions or nights where you want something slightly more polished that a casual sit down. The service was great and even on a busy holiday day the staff was attentive and was always on top of refilling our waters or checking in on us. They were also very timely with bringing out the next course soon after we finished the other. For the food, the crab dip is a must get! It was the favorite thing we tried. The lobster bisque was also delicious. I had the seafood trip while my husband had the surf and turf. The seafood trio was okay. The crab cake was good, but the salmon and shrimp were a little underwhelming. The filet my husband had though was delicious and cooked perfectly and both dishes came with delicious mashed potatoes and vegetables. We also added on the Beecher's lobster mac and cheese which was delicious! We will definitely return to Palisade in the future.

Food was the most delicious food I've ever had. The Caesar salad comes in cheese wafer bowl, which adds additional flavor. The crab dip with the bread has the perfectly subtle crab flavor within the creamy dip. The Cod is absolutely fantastic. It has crunchy crab cake bit below the cod, which gives it a unique texture. Lobster ressotto is also great, and pairs with every menu item. Service was great too. Just the right amount of check-ins during a dinner. Highly recommend when celebrating a special occasion. Ambiance was great too. The view of the yacht club is spectacular, and mixed with the live music they sometimes have is to kill for. Honestly, probably the most worth-the-price-tag high cuisine restaurant in all of Seattle.

It gives you that nostalgic vibe you feel when you know your grandparents came here to eat, sat by the window, and talked story for an hour or two with their friends and family. I've gotta be real, I love those feelings and these types of restaurants. The restaurants that endure trendy decor and overly fancy presentations. I admit, there's a time and place fort those and I'll visit them to check them out, but know, that I will always have a soft spot for restaurants that stand the test of time. We were lucky enough to get a seat by the pier with a little bit of a wait, but not enough to ruin our dinner. The menu is simple but had quite of bit of options to please any taste bud. We ordered a couple of oysters to try and the BBQ prawns to start. The oysters had just enough tang to go along with the richness of the meat. Our waiter was peppy and thorough, explaining to us about the coveted copper river salmon that's only around for a few weeks in the summer. I definitely wanted to try that and have a go at their clam chowder. My boyfriend and I ended up sharing the entree of the copper river salmon as well as an order of the bbq prawns and a cup of the clam chowder. Aunt carol also got the prawns and the Hearts of Romain salad with blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dressing. For our first meal in Seattle, and my first time at Chinook's, I'd say this restaurant hit it out of the ball park! The copper river salmon was fresh and felt as though it was a burst of flavor unlike any salmon I've had before. It was less buttery and more vibrant and I loved every bite. We each loved our meals and were happy we stopped here our first night. We were hoping to come back for lunch before we headed out, but alas, trips always end up too short in the end. For our entrées we ordered the wild salmon burger, salmon and chips, and the classic Caesar salad. All were enjoyable and satisfying choices, especially if you're in the mood for simple, well-prepared seafood. We skipped dessert since we had just returned from Leavenworth and had fresh sugar and gingerbread cookies waiting for us at home--a sweet ending we were already looking forward to. Overall, it was a pleasant early evening seafood dinner and a nice, relaxed way to wrap up the day.

So when I woke up still craving shellfish, RockCreek was the call. It was the right one. A dozen oysters to start: Kumamoto and Shigoku. Clean -- no grit, no sand. Whatever they're doing back there, it's working. The brine was full and present in every shell, and the mignonette hit that rare sweet spot of light but actually seasoned. The Winter Old Fashioned? Get it. It was so delicious. Then came the crab Benedict. The side salad alone was worth writing home about -- big, buttery, peppery leaves draped in one of those feather-light vinaigrettes that sounds simple until you try to replicate it at home and realize you can't. But the real star of the entire plate was the potatoes. Crispy outside, genuinely fluffy inside, seasoned with conviction. A masterpiece is not too strong a word. Closed with a glass of pink wine. Was eyeing the bottle with the piglet on the label, but it was bottle-only -- a distinction I find increasingly arbitrary as a former server and bartender. One day that policy will be a relic. Not yet, apparently. Best brunch I've had in Seattle in two years. Highly recommend.

Our server was friendly, answered all of our questions about the menu, and gave some great recommendations, which made choosing what to order much easier. I ended up getting the Dry Aged Steak Frites from the Happy Hour menu and OMG!! The steak, cooked medium, was incredibly juicy and tender!! I was so sad when I got down to the last bite lol As for the Russet French Fries, they were perfectly seasoned and just the right size. I especially enjoyed dipping them into the Fermented Chili Aioli. To which I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't actually spicy, given that I do have a pretty low spice tolerance lol. Overall, I'd definitely come back again! :)

I genuinely don't know what to do with that explanation. The food took so long. I ordered my steak medium rare and it arrived overcooked. I thought this was a steakhouse and yall can't even cook a steak medium rare? One person in our party never received their salad despite asking multiple times. Their stupid steak dish is $50 entree with zero sides. I added cauliflower for an extra $17 charge and received something I could have made in five minutes. Finally, we tried to order dessert and were told they were out of the item we all wanted. This place is a ripoff with terrible service.

We visited this intriguing Filipino-ish, Hawaiian-ish fusion restaurant on a breezy Friday early…read moreafternoon, hoping to find some food better than some other trendy Asian fusion restaurants we've visited in the past. Located at the main Fisherman's Terminal building, this restaurant is sunny and open, with larger windows along the walls, letting natural light through to brighten the area. It's a counter service establishment, so ordering is at the front counter. We encountered a short line on our visit but it moved quickly. I think the kitchen was a little backlogged since our food took almost half an hour to arrive. Koji Fried Chicken Sammie ($15) - The menu lists this as $16 but they only charged $15. The fried chicken is seasoned and lightly breaded, resulting in a more delicate type of crisp. It's very flavorful and salted perfectly, creating a bite that's fragrant and somewhat tangy, filled with vinegar and lemongrass essence. It's a rather small piece of chicken thigh, cooked decently, so while not dripping with juices, isn't dried out or tough. Above the fried chicken is a bunch of crunchy shredded cabbage and underneath is a bed of softened red onions mixed with a creamy sauce, which is apparently ranch, but I couldn't identify it as such. Everything is on what seems to be a commercial soft bun. Very wan, not toasted at all. The chicken is much smaller than the bun and much thinner to boot. I'd say the taste profile is excellent, but the value isn't really there; it's a very light sandwich and I felt like I could have eaten two in a sitting. (4/5) Mayu Mac Salad ($6) - They give a really small scoop of mac salad for $6. It's really good though. The pasta is nice and toothsome with still a bit of a bite, and is then mixed with a thick mayo base. It's not runny at all as with many other mac salads. The pasta has plenty of ridges built into the special macaroni for extra texture. There's shaved carrot and cabbage and plenty of shallot for crunch, all mixed into a base that's extremely savory with a bit of saltiness and fragrance that reminds me of Lao Gan Ma chili crisp. If only this weren't so expensive! (5/5) Chili Crisp Noodle ($17) - This is essentially a version of sesame noodles with chili crisp added on top. Unlike the fried chicken sandwich, this dish looks small but is so creamy and rich that it sits very heavily in the stomach. The sauce is really thick peanut butter mixed with vinegar, as is standard, giving a tangy and nutty note. It has almost a bit of a burnt taste for some reason. It's really thick and viscous and it coats the entire mouth in a film while eating. The noodles are nice and chewy. The chili crisp itself isn't too overtly spicy, instead it's decently fragrant, is very peanut-forward, and has the numbing mala sensation from sichuan peppercorns. (4/5) Overall Pidgin Cooperative serves some pretty good food. I think portion sizes are a little small for the price and even with the three items we ordered, we still left a little peckish. Bathrooms - Larger ones with multiple stalls, one for mushrooms, one for oysters.

This most recent time we noticed that the menu had been split into two and there are only a few items on the main menu, with most standout dishes being on the rotating menu. For four people, we ordered: Gyofun fries: came out cold Smash burger: good, would absolutely get again and recommend Beef short rib: doesn't come with rice which is disappointing for the cost and it being a main. Sauce flavor is punchy and delicious, acid forward! side rice: terrible. Undercooked or perhaps not washed well before cooking Kimchi: very fermented if you like that style Sesame chili crisp noodle: noodles were overcooked and became one giant blob with the sauce. We ordered a fried egg on top and that was cooked perfectly. Overall the flavor is really flat and it was mediocre at best. Tuna kinilaw: tuna didn't seem the best quality. Quality of sauce and accompanying herbs and orange was great, very fresh. If this was the only time we had been here I'd be happy to give it another go but between the other three times we've been here we've had: Salmon kinilaw: much smoother and more delicious than the tuna. The portion size was also bigger than the tuna Fish and chips: great portion crispy fried and delicious Mac salad: good Animal ramen: the noodles were so undercooked you could actually see the fire still through the noodles. The hot broth wasn't hot enough to keep cooking the noodles so it was just completely a bowl of undercooked noodles. Disappointing Wok fried rice cakes: good!! Today the food came out in a decent time but the time we got the fish and chips/ramen we waited over 30 minutes for our food and were pretty disappointed given the restaurant was not super packed. Today towards the end of our stay it was absolutely a packed house but the food was coming out in a very reasonable time and service was good. It's very confusing that it's so inconsistent across my four visits but we have decided to not give it another go because we can't tell if we're going to get a good day or a bad day. Hope this changes because the good days are SO GOOD.
