While the previous restaurants mentioned are a bit more upscale, Gather is on the more casual side. It's located right at the base of Snow King mountain so you can look out at the mountain. Most of all - the food here was amazing. We are from NYC and are self proclaimed "foodies" - so we don't say it lightly when we say that the chef/menu here was super eclectic in the best way possible. He infused flavors from all different cuisines from Mediterranean to Korean -- without anything feeling overpoweringly ethnic. The pork buns were a 10 - unlike most restaurants that use a chunk of pork belly, it seemed like they cubed pork from the rib and it tasted more like eating a delicious spare rib from a Chinese restaurant - without the fat you often get in a traditional pork belly bun. The Fresno peppers accented the sweetness of the buns brilliantly. For entree my wife had the elk bolognese which was superb. The papardelle had a perfect chew (maybe made in house?) and the meat / sauce itself was wonderful. The real showstopper here though was the pork ribeye. I've had plenty of good pork chops but this was something completely different. This cut and its preparation was unbelievably tender and juicy - it melts in your mouth like a piece of wagyu steak. I truly did not think you could achieve this level of tenderness from a pork. The flavors around it were incredible and it was genuinely one of the best dishes I've ever had - anywhere - period. Kudos to the chef for this masterful creation. If you even marginally like pork - please do yourself a favor and get this!! They serve fresh bread with butter spread before your entree and it is so, so lovely! I ended up getting one of their appetizer salads with fresh fruit on a bed of roast veg, and I got two drinks - the "Rose French 75" ($16 - has alcohol) and "the inversion" ($11 - mocktail version of the "Jackson fog" cocktail). I can genuinely say both drinks but particularly the inversion were two of the best drinks I've had; the flavor was perfectly sweet, just a bit floral, and distinct from any other drink I've had (which is something I love to experience!). Nice bloody mary. Rabbit Ravioli - 6.5/10 Stingy portion of meat. Ravioli is just okay. The fried carrot nest was fun but it was too much for the serving. It's a carrot salad with a bite of meat and maybe 5 ravioli. Bar Steak - One came overcooked and one under. Sides were mediocre. Uninteresting mashed potatoes. You know that look that melted mozzarella gets when it's been sitting a while? Like that. Left on a few minutes too long for sure. I've spatchcocked chicken and cooked it perfectly like this dozens of times, and can only assume this one dried out because it was absolutely tiny. Like Cornish game hen size. And no lemon flavor, unless you count squeezing lemon on it yourself. But that is not lemon chicken. -Rigatoni with burrata and basil - we added Italian sausage to this and I am not sure what they put in there but it was sliced smoked sausage of some kind that was NOT good. But worse, it was cold. Everything in the bowl was lukewarm to cold which I almost tolerated because I was hungry, but I drew the line when I bit into a piece of sausage that felt like it just came out of the refrigerator. When we told the server, he said he would get us new ones, which he did, but those came out with burrata in cups on the side. Was this supposed to be a jab at me saying it was cold? Like they thought the burrata was what made it cold so they put it on the side? Regardless, it totally sucked trying to mix pieces of it back into the pasta - which was STILL lukewarm. It was like mixing in cheese curds. Terrible. And bottom line? The pasta and vodka sauce were not even close to good enough to justify this frustration. -The service - first night was nice, he was warm and fairly attentive, and offered us split bowls of pasta since he knew we were sharing. Second night was awful. It took 15 minutes to get water and order apps and another 5 to get bread. We said we were sharing the pasta and the chicken but not only did they not split it for us, it took two extra requests to get an extra bowl and large spoon to split the pasta and then an extra plate and knife to split the chicken. And those were all from flagging down the runner because our server was a ghost. Didn't introduce himself, took our order, and we basically never saw him again. Overall, a mixed bag. I might come here again out of convenience (i.e., while staying at Teton Mountain Lodge next door). But I will adjust my expectations accordingly.

It's a really cool place, and it's bustling with people. That said, I do think it's probably a little bit overhyped given the sheer number of folks in there on the weekend I came to visit. The drinks all sound pretty good; they had a huckleberry Moscow Mule that I wanted to try, but the evening that I came by they actually were having trouble with their cash register and could only take cash. I didn't have any, so I wasn't actually able to buy anything. They do also have food at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, but it's kind of pretty standard bar food, so I wasn't particularly interested in that. There was also almost nowhere to sit -- I got lucky and there ended up being one seat at the bar, and I was by myself so I parked it there and hung out for 15-20 mins to enjoy the vibe. But there were groups coming in and out who ended up just standing around by the tables or in the corner because there weren't any seats available at the bar or the main floor with tables. My understanding is that they do sometimes have karaoke or live music or something like that. The day that I was there (Saturday of memorial day weekend), I didn't see live music within the bar but that was the weekend of the "Million Dollar Country Music Festival," which took place just outside the bar in Jackson Square. It was free, and despite being very packed, it was super cool! The area immediately in front of the bar was shoulder to shoulder, but there were some areas around the park to sit and you could hear the stage just fine. Overall, it's a pretty cool area. Regardless of if you want drinks or food, you should probably come check it out when visiting Jackson Hole if you've never been. Of note, there is a little bit of street parking that's free for a couple of hours during the day (and free in the evenings in general), but do just take note of the signs about where and what time the parking is free so that you don't end up getting ticketed or towed (there are indeed a good number of state troopers around the area who do seem to keep an eye on that).

We were very happy with this, to say the least. -Salumi & Formaggi - favorite meat and cheese plate we've ever had. Everything was perfectly selected and paired together on the board. Could not have been more pleased. -Charred broccolini - cooked perfectly to a bright and vibrant color, accompanied by a spicy Calabrian chili aioli. I watched the PBS spotlight on Glorietta and Wyoming Heritage Grains a few days prior and it made it all the more meaningful to order this dish and taste the hard work and care that goes into the flour and the pasta. While the food is elevated it doesn't feel pretentious and maintains a laid back local's feel despite alot of tourists stopping by. While we love cocktails and were impressed with the menu, we were in a wine mood. They have a petite selection of wines by the glass but there's plenty of bottles to choose from. For appetizers we were in the mood for light and refreshing, so the bartender recommended the caesar salad with fresh anchovies. It was perfect for us to share and we loved it. He also mentioned the pasta was house made, so we knew we had to try it. We ordered the fusilli which was so flavorful in spite of being a very simple dish. Our neighbors sitting next to us ordered it first and said it was some of the best they've ever had and they're from NY and have high standards. For our main entree we shared the trout which is from Idaho. I am not that familiar with trout and always forget it's not a white fish but similar to salmon in looks (pink in color) and taste.
